What a fun treehouse! A child’s heaven! It was easy to see the details of how it was made. I love the macrame. This makes me want to be a kid again. Thanks Jordan. I’m looking forward to your next project.
Man... The time and effort you put in: couple of days? The memories you created for your kid growing up with an indoor treehouse connected to his/her bed: eternal! Really ... that has to be every childs dream.
What a wonderful kids space. I would have added a secret hiding spot under the lofted bed. A hidden shelf would be cool. My son loved the hiding spots my husband build into his bed. He kept dog treats and rocks in them.
Thank you! Yeah, that’s a great idea! I did a lot more of those small shelves and hiding spots in the Castle Bunk build. And I think I’ll keep doing it, because those girls love them too! They each have their secret “mailbox” 😅
This is AMAZING. Literally the ONLY thing I would have changed would be maybe adding a handle(probably rope to match the vibe) on the "pull" side of that door so it's easier to get it open from that side if it's closed; wouldn't want any kiddos getting stuck because they can't get a good grip on the door to open it!
Great idea! Yeah, I’ve been meaning to add a handle on both sides but just haven’t yet. Using rope is a great idea though, I’ll definitely do that! Thanks!
@@kananilife Oh sweet! No problem! I might recommend using one piece of rope through a hole at door-handle level; you could tie a knot on either side of the hole so it doesn't slip through, and that way you don't have to figure out how to attach it on both sides.
@@kananilife ah a builder by trade, explains the over kill on the joist hangers and 2x6 in the bedroom portion. Most of these builds in always think well that’s not gonna last you can already see it stressing under the weight. I(home builder) likewise went over kill when I built my daughter’s loft bed, lags in every stud; if she gets hurt I want it to be because she choice to be silly and jump off it not because I’d fell out of under her, plus she makes me sleep with her sometimes and I had to make sure it can hold both our weight.
What a cool idea!! Any child would love one of these! This is the first one of your videos I've seen but plan to see if you have others that might interest me.
Wow how clever are you 👍🏻👍🏻 superb job. What a great use of wasted space. Could be adapted for other peoples houses eg extra storage instead of treehouse look. Love watching projects like this.
I really wish that I knew more about fixing cars, maybe one day I’ll dive into that! We’ve all got out talents and skills, just a good thing there’s people for each skill 😀
Truly amazing. Can you adopt me.. I want an indoor tree house. That rope, net making skill is beautiful. Nearly a year on, any bits you would have done dif? Is the bamboo still in place, are the pipes full of toys and food 🤭 is it easy to clean? Why only access from the bunk? Can you access via the stairs yet?
Thank you! So far it’s still in great condition, and I haven’t done much upgrades to it. Been busy with a lot of other projects lately, but maybe someday I’ll get back to it and do some other entrances or upgrades!
Hey, thanks for reaching out! I got it on Amazon! I’ll find the link to it later tonight and send it to you and I’ll also add it to the description on the video! Thanks for the idea 😀
I have similar dog leg stair case going up to our 2nd floor. I'd be interested in seeing the head height under the extension. What head room do adults have as they come up the stairs? Do you have to duck down under the extension to get to the 2nd floor? Thank you
Cool! You should definitely build something above it!!! When I’m coming up from the middle landing area I can barely touch the bridge part if I go on my tippy toes and I’m 6’3”. Definitely not even close to bumping your head 👍🏽
Haha you’re so nice, thanks! Not sure if I could do that 😅 I’ll keep trying to make good content for you to watch though, how does that sound? And maybe you could build something like it too!
I’m sure you could, I think the engineered specs of a single 2x4 will span 4’ as a joist but that is for like a b actual floor not for a kids playhouse. But honestly it depends on so many things like how much weight is going to be up there, how close together they’ll be (16” on center instead of 2’ on center). You can look up specific specs on the engineering of how much weight it’ll all hold. I’m sure you’re fine with just all 2x4s though for that size, and if it’s for kids. I went quite overkill in this one 😅 If you haven’t checked out the princess castle bed video that I posted I would definitely do that! I did the same kind of think with framing the decks but used only 2x4s and then on the longer rim board/support beams I had just the 2x4 and then the finished plywood doubled up with it to give it plenty of strength. And the rim that’s up against the wall is screwed into every stud so a single 2x4 is plenty. Just make sure if you have a longer span that’s holding up all the joists to double that one up with another 2x4 or a 2x6 or a wide piece of plywood or something 👍🏽 Hope that was helpful, I’m sure it’ll be great! Let me know if you have any other questions! We’d love to see what you create, whether you put a video on UA-cam or just tag @kanani.life if you post a picture of it on Instagram! Have fun 😁
Haha I actually didn’t when I built it last year and now my only child is just an infant! It’s been a blast for nieces, nephews, and neighbor kids though…and for myself 😅

Absolutely superb! The attention to detail is just amazing, Jordan. I expect you must be a Joiner by trade! Bet the children love it.
