I followed your tutorial today, it worked perfectly! Instead of having to make a wood mount like you did, I mounted the threaded pipe directly onto a 1/2" threaded pipe flange. The steel pipe I bought was shorter, only about 3", since it wasn't getting sunk into the wood mount. I got a copper colored end cap instead of iron grey to match my ship's wheel. I love it and it turns so easy with no wobbling!

Was wondering your opinion on sip strength when you don't compress the foam between the two layers of plywood with many pounds of even pressure after glueing.like they do in commercial construction. How is your great tiny house standing up with out the post glueing pressure?
