I am impressed with this list. Where I live in the Antelope Valley, we have a seasonal waterfall. It's about 6 inches high where the water falls off the curb into the gutter. Altogether not impressive. Glad you found better ones.
Fish Canyon Falls in Azusa is one of the best, when the trail is open. Also San Antonio Falls and Stoddard Canyon Falls on Mt. Baldy . There are many others, but you chose some of the good ones.
Love Waterfalls no matter where they are in the world. Looks great and wish I could transport myself there and grab some nice pics. I can dream though..
I have been to Switzers, Eston cyn, Solstice and Millard. There’s others in Malibu. I liked the three sisters because it’s stretched. Thanks for sharing.
Green valley falls in cuyamaca state park is a pretty fun one. The flow is not that impressive but the hike is easy and there is a pool that's safe to jump in.
I was surprised to see my home waterfall top the list! I live 20 min away from Black Star Falls outside of Trabuco Canyon. Pro Tip: when you get to the falls, climb the steep hill to your right to find a set of ropes. You can climb the ropes to the top of the hill for incredible views of the Santa Ana mountains!
Me and my dad went there yesterday he has a bad back that needed several surgeries and I’m a skinny 5”9 135lbs that never exercises and he made it up easily because he use to hike all the time in his younger days but I barely made it up mostly because I was out of breath and trying to keep up with my dad. It’s a good hike and even though it’s number 1 on this list I think it’s do able for most people of average athleticism and determination
Try to get into the cave at Black Star Canyon Falls as it is cool to check out. Bring plenty of drinking water as the hike is long and get good directions as there are no signs to know where to make the turns and you may miss it. Bring epipen for bees if allergic. I got stung but few people do and I did not notice any at the falls, just one segment of the way up.
Been going to Millard Canyon since I was a kid. We went to Trail Canyon in Tujunga after seeing this video. Great hike and great falls. Thank you for this video.
FALLS CREEK (MT SAN JACINTO) YOU CAN SEE IT at White Water rest stop off the 10 fwy. The falls is not year round but this year has been great. This falls has a long long drop off the mountain! It is my favorite!👊🤠
hello there..new viewers here...very nice uploads..reminds me of my tours around the waterfalls of Mindanao,Philippines,,,sending you a like with a smile from chicago and bukidnon, mindanao, philippines
I HAVE TO GO to the Heart Rock Falls! I hadn’t heard of it befor this video, so thanks for the tips on the hiking... looks fun! I love the views! Beautiful!! Happy paths❤️
Update for Escondido Falls: PLEASE be aware that right after the first waterfall, it is very difficult to climb up the hill. It’s very steep and super rocky. There isn’t a rope anymore and the roots of trees make it more difficult. It is really hard if you take your dogs or little kids. I wouldn’t recommend if you bring your dogs or kids. Other than that it’s a super cool hike, mostly in the spring, hopefully that helps anyone from showing up and realizing this.
Wow not one from San Bernardino County? San Bernardino County has some of the highest falls around. I have at least 7 in there that would blow half of these away.
How about Nojoqui Falls near Solvang? An 80 ft high water fall at the end of a half mile trail from the City Park. Good most of the time but spectacular after a wet season!
Done 3 of the falls going to try and do the rest by years end and you said that blackstar fall was the hardest. One in the list i done that one like 7 times and i love it it's difficult but super fun
Cooper Falls, Switzer Falls, Fish Falls, and Eaton Falls are a couple others in the LA area. My favorite is still Sturtevant Falls, for the LA area that is.
Tenaja is also awesome- and big falls in san Bernardino mountains also super impressive - but often closed due to danger and monitored by rangers. and of course Bonita falls in Lytle creek -
Did the three sisters hike. It's pretty strenuous, there have been tons of rescues there this year so I wouldn't be surprised if they start requiring a permit like cedar Creek does, cedar Creek is a lot easier of a hike, right now neither falls are flowing tho.
Tanriverdi Falls is 160' tall but is a very difficult & dangerous hike and climb. It is about 3 miles each way accessible from Falcon Group Camp ground off the 74. This takes you to the top of the falls. I am told its the largest in So Cal and generally a canyoneering trip of 10+ hours.
California Through My Lens it's well earned... your videos are not spammy or hype trying to getvlikes/comments/subscribes... And it shows what people really want to see... I was inspired to visit some of these places I will post it shortly on my Instagram Channel if you want to see what I was able to come up with its here instagram.com/integritydesignonline/ Cheers.
Hi Josh You missed Bonita Falls in San Bernardino National Forest, it has water all year long even no rain and in 95 degree F summer. Have you been there?
i was at the ortega hwy fall yesterday, your description is very accurate! i plan on going to a couple more you mention, i am not attracted to the one you say there is poison ivy!
another awesome fall - but way south - off highway 8 halfway to Arizona - it's called kitchen creek falls - of the PCT near the Mexican border. The hike is about 5 miles round trip - mostly moderate trail, but about a half mile scramble to get to the bottom tier - it's a 5 tier, 200 foot fall - and is by far my favorite falls - black star is my second, Ortega when flowing is third. check out hikelikers on IG - or look up kitchen creek falls for more images - I promise you wont be dissapointed
Ive been to many of these falls myself, but you left off Eaton Canyon Waterfall. It is one of my favorites, but nowadays its getting way too crowded, which is unfortunate.
lookoutforchris I love seeing graffiti and other man made things. While I do honestly prefer there to be none. I like seeing how I get off the trail and wonder if I'm the first person on a particular area, but see paintings and junk. While sad, yes, also amazing to see humans in every corner of the world
lookoutforchris just depends if it’s curse words it’s graffiti. If not it’s art. We are only human. No one sad making art was bad. We just leave our marks
Rose valley falls in north ventura County above ojai is a 2 tier 300 foot fall with pass thru cave to climb thru behind waterfall the tallest water fall in the Los Padres NF. Lower tier easy .4mi trail 150 elevation gain upper tier much more dangerous scramble but well worth it ... Matilija falls and matilija dam also worth a visit if in the area
This is a great list!! The only one I would add is San Antonio Falls in Mt. Baldy. We actually got some sick drone footage of it on our channel, if ya wanted to check it out.
glad you mentioned 3 Sister's... the ranger's have closed it due to the extended heatwave in the back country... digging your vid's Josh.... peace from San Diego
Oh sick to see Blackstar on the list, I've done that like 2-3 times and the boulders were intense, the WF is worth it though, check out the cave too if you can climb up into it 🔥
On the one hand I approve of encouraging people to explore their world, on the other hand I know that the more publicity that beautiful places in nature receive the more people come and leave behind garbage.
The only one i been to is one you did not put on which is the Copper Creek Falls in San diego country. I live in the city it is in which is San Marcos, CA it is i great view and hard to find if you don't know where to go
I live in Forest Falls and I've been to most of the Falls on this list. I was expecting Forest Falls to be the top dog...lol. what a shock to find out it didn't even make his list. He's probably never even been there I also noticed he left off Angel Falls at Mt. Baldy. Geez...what a hack!
Y'all have more waterfalls than we do here in Utah. haha But Oregon is still the king of waterfalls! Although Yosemite has the Tallest ones, the PNW (including Washington states) have the most amazing ones. Then again, I love every waterfall I see!
Also in palm springs the Tahquitz falls is amazing
I think Ventura County is part of Southern California, and you should check out Matilija Creek Waterfalls, hard to reach but worth the hike.
I am impressed with this list. Where I live in the Antelope Valley, we have a seasonal waterfall. It's about 6 inches high where the water falls off the curb into the gutter. Altogether not impressive. Glad you found better ones.
Bonita falls in San Bernardino is very nice! About 45 minute walk/hike to the waterfall and beautiful Lytle creek
Very nice. But two of your words gave me chills: poison oak. Yipes.
Fish Canyon Falls in Azusa is one of the best, when the trail is open.
Also San Antonio Falls and Stoddard Canyon Falls on Mt. Baldy .
There are many others, but you chose some of the good ones.
Though it's been goofed up due to trail closures, Forrest Falls flows your round, is an easy hike, and very impressive from the top...
Thanks for the suggestion, I haven't been to that one!
California Through My Lens It's actually in the campground.
Several are in the Mount San Antonio area (Mt. Baldy), including the name sake San Antonio Falls near Manker Flats.
Thank you for sharing the extra tip! I am going to do it!
Hey can you tell me if I can make bbq there pls..cuz i wanna go tomorrow with my fam but i don’t have no idea
The rope looks super thin now 😭 didn't have the guts to go up
Me and my dad went there yesterday he has a bad back that needed several surgeries and I’m a skinny 5”9 135lbs that never exercises and he made it up easily because he use to hike all the time in his younger days but I barely made it up mostly because I was out of breath and trying to keep up with my dad. It’s a good hike and even though it’s number 1 on this list I think it’s do able for most people of average athleticism and determination
I did that last weekend
I’ve never been to California, but I would love to Mc.way big sur waterfall, it’s like a magic waterfall
Aztec falls has amazing cliff jumping as well as falls
Try to get into the cave at Black Star Canyon Falls as it is cool to check out. Bring plenty of drinking water as the hike is long and get good directions as there are no signs to know where to make the turns and you may miss it. Bring epipen for bees if allergic. I got stung but few people do and I did not notice any at the falls, just one segment of the way up.

Great falls of the fox in Tujunga, simply amazing.

Thank you Josh for sharing!I love your videos and I have all these waterfalls on my list.....
You always do a great job on your videos. Really enjoyed this among others you have done like Joshua Tree. Just subbed
How about Nojoqui Falls near Solvang? An 80 ft high water fall at the end of a half mile trail from the City Park. Good most of the time but spectacular after a wet season!
Thats a good one too! I have only been there when it was a trickle
@@californiathroughmylens Then you've missed it! Try to get by after a wet Winter. It is worth it!
Thank you for taking us especially on this hard moments... 👏👏👏👌

Paradise Falls
in Wildwood Park (THOUSAND OAKS)
I haven't been there yet but I want to check it out
Black Star is my favorite of your 7, but you have to make it to the top and hike like 1.5 miles more to enjoy one of the coolest Hikes in south Cali.
Jesus Mejia need to visit that one!
Secret Falls... only 'slide rock waterfall' in SoCal... Angeles National Forest. (photo taken mid-summer, flow is much heavier in springtime).
Very cool tour!
Fantastic video!
You should try the Punch Bowls in Santa Paula
You really need to check out Forest Angel Falls near Redlands.
Wow I wish I could’ve seen black star canyon falls when it was flowing like that 🥺
Tenaja is also awesome- and big falls in san Bernardino mountains also super impressive - but often closed due to danger and monitored by rangers. and of course Bonita falls in Lytle creek -

Wow my first waterfall hike was Black Star. Guess I’m done lol

Really surprised Cedar Creek Falls in San Diego County didn't make the list! Kind of glad it didn't---keep the hiking public numbers lower. :-)
Ive been to many of these falls myself, but you left off Eaton Canyon Waterfall. It is one of my favorites, but nowadays its getting way too crowded, which is unfortunate.
Eaton Canyon is a great waterfall, but it is usually crazy busy so I kept it off this list.
Actually the falls behind the first one are better, but dangerous to get to.
@@californiathroughmylens it sucks! would have loved to see bonita falls on the list but it's also starting to get crowded there these days
Imagine now with all this rain 2023!
The graffiti is an embarrassment.
Agreed, it is always sad to see
lookoutforchris I love seeing graffiti and other man made things. While I do honestly prefer there to be none. Leaving "your mark" taints the wilderness for others. You want to leave a mark, spray paint your house.
Permanent marks on property and objects that do not belong to you are not art. It’s vandalism.

You ever been to the 100 foot Devil’s Punch Bowl waterfall in San Pasqual Valley which nowadays requires a permit to enter.

Eaton Canyon Falls?
Stoddard Canyon Falls are amazing in Mount Baldy.
BIG FALLS IN FOREST FALLS $HITS ON ALL THESE WATERFALLS ON THE LIST.
Rose Valley Falls should make this list!
Oh sick to see Blackstar on the list, I've done that like 2-3 times and the boulders were intense, the WF is worth it though, check out the cave too if you can climb up into it 🔥
Epa que chulada saludos de Caballo blanco en USA...

Etiwanda water falls in Rancho cucamonga!!
You forgot Forest Falls and Lyttle Creek Falls in San Bernardino! Good list though!
Any hikes similar to black star in South California??
I like to crawl up bolders
Lots of great bouldering in Joshua Tree if you are looking for a more unique hike.
The only one i been to is one you did not put on which is the Copper Creek Falls in San diego country. I live in the city it is in which is San Marcos, CA it is i great view and hard to find if you don't know where to go
Eaton Cyn. Waterfall in Pasadena?
I feel the secret one is fish canyon falls. It was open for a few years before they closed it again because of the fires 🔥
Fish Canyon Falls is one of my old stomping grounds...
Eric Underwood Class of 81 Downey High school CA ✌️

Will you make one for Northern California waterfalls?
Forest falls near San Gorgnio
What about falls creek falls?
Great video thanks for the info
The one in forest falls beats at least half of these
I live in Forest Falls and I've been to most of the Falls on this list. I was expecting Forest Falls to be the top dog...lol. what a shock to find out it didn't even make his list.
He's probably never even been there
I also noticed he left off Angel Falls at Mt. Baldy. Geez...what a hack!
maybe the lytle creek waterfall?
Can you make a similar video for central California...
i may have done some of these hikes a few years ago while in the area...are they year round falls?
