I'm glad this showed up in my feed. This brought back so many memories. We grew up going to the Azusa mountains, almost every day in the summer. We used to try to pile more rocks on the current dam to make the pools bigger 😁 Good Times!
I lived right next to the SGR bed on the Duarte side 1959-1971. Before they put the levies in , there were huge boulders in the riverbed which we innertubed on. They let the water out of Morris dam for about two weeks in August every year. Great memories.

@van2810 You are absolutely right, it wasn’t my intention to cause any extra harm to this place that I love so much. However this past couple of days they actually closed the access to it and my hope is that the authorities finally put an end to this situation since it got to their attention.

Great video. Back in the 60's, 70's & early 80s, I spent a lot of time in that canyon. There are some awesome back packing areas. My favorite hike was to the Bridge to nowhere. Back then there was no trash.
Every year the forest service allows volunteer groups to remove the dams creating the pools The pools are terrible for the native fish population, warming the water and damaging nesting beds. Please enjoy the river in its natural state.
Thank you sooo much! Your video is sooo helpful! Ive watched many videos and people will tell you the spots they go but they never go into detail in how they get there. Thank you sooo much! Please keep making more
Native Americans weren’t a single nation. You’re talking about a succession of hundreds of unique cultures who took turns fighting over these territories and their resources, often committing slaughter and attempted genocide. As humans do.
Why you didn't let the dog into the water, poor dog the only one not enjoying the water on a very hot day. You should have not brought the dog there if you're not letting it swim or play in the water.
Great video. Thanks for posting. Appreciate you sharing this! In the 70s we used to go to this river and play for hours there. We built our own rock pools back in the day. The water was beautiful and even had crawdads back then.
Thank you
What a beautiful area, a beautiful video and a beautiful narration. I'm excited to follow you. ❤
Thank you 🙏
Welcome aboard!!
i love your videos, thank you for the great in depth directions!
My pleasure, thank you for watching my work 🙏
Thank you for sharing these beautiful spits but ALSO thanks for reminding everyone...not to leave trash!! Take only pictures, leave only footprints.

Thank you so very much 🙏
Do you have a special place that you would recommend or want me to make a video of? Thank you again for watching my videos 🙏

I'm glad this showed up in my feed. This brought back so many memories. We grew up going to the Azusa mountains, almost every day in the summer. We used to try to pile more rocks on the current dam to make the pools bigger 😁 Good Times!
Thank you for watching 🙏
I lived right next to the SGR bed on the Duarte side 1959-1971. Before they put the levies in , there were huge boulders in the riverbed which we innertubed on. They let the water out of Morris dam for about two weeks in August every year. Great memories.
Thank you so much and God bless you!
Beautiful memories from many years ago, Thanks for sharing!!!💗👏
Se ve muy bien ese lugar. Saludos.
Gracias 🙏
What a beautiful place. I can't swim, but I'll love to go visit this place to relax with my son and mom since its not that far from me.
It’s best to go on a weekday!
Me too.
Wow! Had no idea this existed by Azusa. So surprised to see how clear the water is. Love that the area is so clean as well. I will bookmark this. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you 🙏
I want my kids to have a happy memory of this place too
Yay, English version! I wish I could speak Spanish, but I’m not smart enough lol.
🤣🤣🤣
Don’t say that you are!!!
Looks like a beautiful piece of nature, Thank you for asking people to keep it clean, even the trash isn't yours, pick it up and help keep it clean for others to enjoy, start a trend.

swimming with Js on is wild lol.
That’s the way ! 🌊
Fantastic way to get to know our local rivers Very enjoyable and nice video. Thank you.
Ah yes. The one thing this area needs is another video publicizing its location so that more hordes of people can arrive and trash it further.

This is why you should BE the change by picking up trash that people leave. Give people awareness to have more respect towards nature or places in general.

Gotta keep hidden gems hidden. Doesn’t take long b4 it gets trashed
I do , this isn’t hidden it’s all over social media
Trashed?? That’s been a problem here even before social media. Watch this: SAN GABRIEL RIVER, THE BAD SIDE!

Yeah, I'm not down with stingy people who wanna keep secrets about the beautiful spots in California. 👎
Its trashed. People leave so much trash.
I know, I’m trying to send a message about cleaning this place. Trust me I’m doing what I can, watch this: SAN GABRIEL RIVER, THE BAD SIDE!

So beautiful.
You’re a wonderful tour guide! Thanks for this video, this place looks like Heaven! Especially in triple digit weather.
Yes my dad always made sure we left places better than we found them. It’s terrible to see such a disregard for nature, and it’s just selfishness that people would trash the area and not think of anybody else that may want to enjoy it after them!
Subbed for more adventures, love the watering holes!
#OlllllllO maybe I’ll get back down south soon ✨🥰✨
Stay blessed, safe, and prosperous my friend. Hello to your wonderful family, they’re very encouraging for nervous jumpers! That was a funny part LOL!
It always best to come on a WEEKDAY

Did you see what happened to this spot this July 4th weekend? Thanks to videos like yours and other TikTok/Instagram videos that bring even more people up here. I know you’re trying to help, but unfortunately, these videos are only doing more harm by increasing the amount of people coming there and trashing the place.
blame the people that trash the place , a guy having a nice time with friends and doing no harm is not the problem its the morons that have no respect for anything that are the problem

@@lopezexplora I appreciate your videos, but let's look at the stats here. This video showing off the rock pools has 260K views, the "Bad Side" video only has 2.6K views. Your videos will end up bringing more and more people to the spot vs. educating people about the trash. Over the next few years, this video will get even more views than it has now. You are indirectly harming this location even if that is not your intention.
@van2810 You are absolutely right, it wasn’t my intention to cause any extra harm to this place that I love so much. However this past couple of days they actually closed the access to it and my hope is that the authorities finally put an end to this situation since it got to their attention.

We always go there but never knew there's such a beautiful spot to swim .. much appreciated

UA-cam and people like this have ruined beautiful locations when they post the location and spread the word. Instagram and UA-cam nightmare
Yet, you are here
Ridiculous. This particular place has been on the map for over 100 years.
BUT.... yes, UA-cam & X etc. are a net negative for humanity and the 🌎.
Yet here WE are......
At the advice of your video, I went up to the rock pools and found myself a lovely spot. I’m from the east coast and have been missing the rivers, creeks, and dense nature so going here meant a lot to me. Also at your suggestion, I brought a trash bag and cleaned up the pool I was at and the surrounding area; I filled the bag! I will definitely bring friends and family here next time and have them help to tidy up as well. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you so very much for watching and for taking the time to clean the place. Thank you, thank you 🙏
Thanks for burning the spot.. n yeah people disgusting for leaving all their diapers and garbage behind.. my car is littered at times because i don't just throw shit on the street.

Why do people write on the rocks smh
Despicable...it's bad enough graphetti in cities...but in NATURE ? ! !
Great video. Back in the 60's, 70's & early 80s, I spent a lot of time in that canyon. There are some awesome back packing areas. My favorite hike was to the Bridge to nowhere. Back then there was no trash.
Thank you 🙏

Every year the forest service allows volunteer groups to remove the dams creating the pools The pools are terrible for the native fish population, warming the water and damaging nesting beds. Please enjoy the river in its natural state.
blah blah blah... don't be an idiot, keep the dams in place that our old timers had the wisdom to build for the rest of us to enjoy.

Why you didn't let the dog into the water, poor dog the only one not enjoying the water on a very hot day. You should have not brought the dog there if you're not letting it swim or play in the water.
I know right? I wasn’t my dog it was somebody else’s and I asked them the same and they said he was terrified of it!
Lovely video great camera movement and angles showing the lush water. The viewer gets to really feel what it's like to be there. Thank you so much.

Great video. Thanks for posting.
Having been born(1965) and raised about a mile from the beach near LAX and did a lot of exploring the local mountains, my parents also owned a home in Crestline, Lake Gregory.
There are so many amazing places in and around L.A. like the beaches and creeks and rivers and mountains all witiin just a few minutes or an hour drive and most people don't even know about these places.
But, unfortunately, a lot of people do know about these places and have no respect for the beauty and nature and for other people. These places have become dirty, dangerous and not enjoyable. Its a shame.

Omg! Thank you so much! I have lived here in the San Gabriel Valley my whole life but have never been to those spots!😯 I've been up that highway just last Summer but was very discouraged to go back because of all the trash. But I think you're right. If everyone took a bag and took some out or at least take out there own trash that would really help. I'm going to follow your directions to go there this week with my boys. I can't wait! Thanks again for taking the time to post this.😇
