Thursday Feb 24 from Tri Peaks in the Santa Monica mountains, mid morning, I could see past Santa Barbara to Lompoc to the north, past Long Beach to the south, San Gorgonio Mountain, even the Sierras -- Mt Langley, and all the Channel Islands. Amazingly clear day, I guess that's from the cold snap. Been there a few times before on sunny days and couldn't even see Oxnard.
That's awesome - I never saw Langley from Tri-Peaks but have seen San G and up and down the coast. It's a great spot to spy a bunch of the surrounding peaks. More Santa Monica Mountains guides coming soon...
Thanks for another great video. Do you have any thoughts on that dad that got lost while on what he thought was a day hike? He was found, and is all good. I just was curious what you thought about it.
Yea, good question, I had shared the "missing" post earlier and had been following it. The bad: a satellite communicator or PLB would have gotten him saved in a few hours. The good: he had the mental strength to survive, he started fires, ate snow, and used his navigation skills to get to a road. And I'm not sure on his familiarity with the area, but having been there before, I would have given Pinos a skip given the forecast.
very detailed, thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing and all the information 🥾🥾
Thanks for sharing. Do we get mobile network there?
Fantastic trail bud, looks really beautiful.

There’s a good amount of water right now saw two snakes well worth it
Oh damn I'm going tomorrow morning around 5 coming from San Diego
That oak tree as soon as you cross the stream has an amazing structure. Just sad people wanna carve their names on the trees as well 😒
I know it's so sad. All of these popular and shorter hikes have tags, names carved, etc. - I just don't get it.
I used to be able to go all the way up.. private property my ass
Nice!! Easy video ranking > Promo`SM !!!
