Toyota Corolla still the most reliable compact car in its segment.
If you get a MIL on any toyota it will make you think to go to dealer the way the car goes into a system spaz with trac control and vsc lights! Even for a stupid P0456.
@Joy Miller and we purchase used Toyota Corolla 2004 versions with a pricetag that's equivalent to 18000 USD in our country.
love or hate it,but Toyota is the most reliable car in the world.
True...honda a close second back in the day but toyota is undisputed number 1
@@lance6829 apparenrly Honda engines are solid its just their auto and cvt transmissions which kills the engine.
They say a Honda manual transmission is just about as reliable.
Well don't forget about Volkswagen...
Not anymore i go to hyundai or kia now cvt is depressing
Hyundai and Kia are on Toyotas heels
I paid off my 2005 Corolla like a decade ago and it's still on its original engine and transmission, and both have never given me any issues. I have fun and it's not boring. What IS boring is having your car towed because the engine blew while youre still paying it off.
It's not so boring when you finish paying for car it lasts another 10 or 15 years!!!!!😊😊😊The money you save you can travel ANYWHERE in WORLD!!😊😊😊
B Sa oh no it’s more like 25
B Sa it’s kinda boring for people who want some character from their cars. Toyota makes some amazing cars, but they aren’t for everyone. I, for example, wants something more sporty, like Mazda.
BSA maybe u want to save money from this car for the next 5 years and then go on vacation after that .. there are other who wants to live life during those entire 5 years instead of waiting for the 6th like u ... These are enthusiasts .. you are just a blind Toyota sheep
@good is not better those days are gone buddy .. now others have caught up look at Subaru and Mazda they're used cars are around the same pricing as Toyota's because people are becoming smarter now.
@@googleit1131 You want something more sporty so you get a Mazda? I have to laugh LMAO
This isn't just a redesign of the outgoing model - its a complete revolution. They've added multilink suspension, torque vectoring (this is huge), a fantastic 6 speed manual with syncro rev matching (that's something you'd only get in high end 40k plus sports cars), a brand new engine with DI and PI, and the TNGA platform. Hands down the most significant upgrade of any model in recent years. Toyota really put all the cards on the table for this one.
I agree! I have been eyeballing a fresh Corolla for the past couple of years, but this redesign seems very nice, and worth the wait. I may just end up getting a low mileage trade-in, a 2.0 with a manual, in a year or two, but I'm not tryna shell out $26k for an economy car.
@@RobertBreckenridge13 Depending on where you live, you can get a 2020 SE manual for about $20k.
I’ll more than likely be in a 2020 XSE come Monday. Toyota stepped their game up.
He calls Corolla boring because he hadn't seen his outfit and style on the mirror 😂
ckiv vick I agree with you about the outfit but he isn’t a fashion critic. His job is to review cars though.
@@BSu-ym5mo It was a sarcastic joke. I didn't really criticised his style, I just showed my opposition. I don't get how a car can be boring. It's not a supercar, it's a family car for people who want to transport to their destination, it's not designed to be fast as hell.
@@BSu-ym5mo It would be alot better if he had clothes that actually fit him. That jacket is wayyyyyy to big and his collar looks like a pancake.
Hi intentionally made himself look goofy.
Made that corolla look a lot cooler by comparison👍😹
😂😂😂😂😂
This is going to sell like crazy!!!! Civic and Corolla are killing it
The looks are at least acceptable and the new rear suspension is a big plus.
I don't know why but Craig reminds me of Earthworm Jim
My 2003 Corolla is quite long in the tooth, but still humming along at 198,000+ miles. Has never broken down on me, but I also do the routine maintenance. Shocking that the VW bug of this generation now costs over $30,000 after interest.
This nerd 🤓 doesn’t love the Corolla 😂😂😅
Right
I would buy one with a manual transmission.
I did it goes hard
@@bryanc1872 do you like it so far?
Great video honest , straightforward and to the point
Good review sir! 👍
$22650 for a loaded SE 6MT. Thats damn good! Id rock the shizzz out of that! I actually really like the design both inside and out and w/ the new mill and running gear im kinda sold.
Aurora Jones wow a 6 speed manual Corolla. Throw a exhaust and lowering springs on it an look out you still have a crappy Corolla
eww its gross looking. get a mitsubishi mirage g4 with mt 10k new and 50mpg. also kinda gross looking but 50mpg and half the price
@@MARTINRIGGSS uh no toyota isnt anything special ive seen alot of them with bad motors and such. besides most people buying new cars only keep them 3 years then trade them in
But no Android Auto available on Corolla. Huge fail by Toyota.
This is an appealing Corolla Kudos Toyota Nice review
Holy shit, a corrolla with auto-rev matching on the manual transmission. I never thought I would see this day.
We recorded a video to show difference between Corolla L and Corolla GLI - all base version in USA and Brazil

I never understood why car companies don’t put Android Auto in first. There are 4 times as many people using Android phones compared to iPhones. Why not put the more popular phone system in your car?
Google it I believe Apple CarPlay is a cheaper contract
Also, Apple is more reliable and ease of use
Wealthier people tend to have iPhones (google "income iphone vs android"). They also tend to be more likely to buy new cars, so it's not like new Corolla buyers are actually Android owners at a 4X iPhone owner rate.
Mario Lopez ... and how does not including Android Auto help them? It just pushes people with Android phones to other cars...
jalmonte91 every iPhone I had died after 2 years (which admittedly is normal), while my Samsung phone has lasted 4 years with few issues. But I’ll give you the ease of use... if you suck at technology. I’m a huge nerd and find Android was more freeing and gives greater control and customization to its users. But ya, I see where you’re coming from.
I drive a corolla and it's not boring to me. I do have the sport mode though
Very good review of a sweet looking car. I'll take the XSE with the manual trans.
Can’t have one.
Sweeeeeet! LOVE IT!!!
Very good cinematography !!!
I love my 16 for the money it was great, Has never failed me- the only issue is that it is slow- and the engine is harsh.
Really good review love how detailed your work on the videos is. About the car is so ugly on the front tho don't know what the designers where thinking. The outgoing middle tho the proportions were really good.
I think the rear looks nice, the front is a mess but looks better than the previous Corolla. The interior looks improved I would love to see a comparison between the new Corolla vs the Civic. As the lease on my Civic EX-T ends in May.
Do not buy a new civic, I just traded mine in after taking it to the dealership literally 23 times in less then 20k miles.... reliable my a$$, they have a problem called oil dilution and it almost caused my car to blow up and shake sometimes violently at stops. It's a known issue for all the cars with there new turbo engine in it (the civic, accord, and CRV) but it hasn't been recalled yet because Honda refuses to settle in court ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY.
@@aidensnow5017 I have over 46,000 miles on my Civic EX-T that I acquired in 2016 I have had no issues with the car. The only things I have done is oil changes and tire rotations.
@@tylersanders6703 you have a 2016. I said new civics. civics, accords, and CRV's that have the 1.5L turbo engines in them have this problem and most people are having it. The seals on those engines are just f*cked and gasoline leaks onto you're engines oil causing it to not lubricate the vehicles properly witch can cause you're vehicle to vibrate, shutter, or if left un checked possibly throw a rod out and take out the entire engine.
@@aidensnow5017 The 2016 has the same 1.5L turbo as the 2019's... Do you live in colder climate? I hear those who have issues live in the cold
@@aidensnow5017 I have a 1.5 T in mind.
I love Toyota Corolla. Petrol very very economical. Full tank drive to KL and back to Singapore. Petrol gauge showed slightly 1 bar below half.
Finally after a long time A corolla that looks like a car...
Nice job filming in Savannah, unmistakably filmed there. Wormsloe Plantation, downtown, and marshes lol. What made you guys end up doing this review there?
It's where Toyota offered the cars for review.......look at similar print and YT reviews....all in Savannah. 🙂 Hope they had time for some good southern cookin'.
3:10 thank you for mentioning multi link rear suspension, wow this is my dream car, i dont know in asia corolla altis in asia with tortion beam
I am using Corolla from last 10 years 2005 model 2010 model and 2016 model
I think this car is most comfort and beautiful car in the world....
Now I have some financial problem otherwise I would love to to get this car
Never been a Toyota guy but this 2020 Corolla looks damn good! If I were in the market for a compact daily driver this would be it.
Me 2. I've never a Toyota guy as the seemed boring but I'd def drive the sport model
The front grille reminds me so much of the Kia Forte Koup...
Damn okay this is actually nice
This thing is nice af
Why can’t they create a sport model of this car as they do with the civic? I’d buy it
Toyota never has. Closest is the SE/XSE
Good Review.
i love the video
Although the hatchback has more cubic space, the truck on the corolla sedans seem to be deeper and gives the driver more room to put suitcases and hide things out of sight, when compared to the hatchback. I like the 2020 sedan Corolla great review. Wish we can see the review on a base model too.
Don't buy the CVT. The gear hand-off from first gear sounds look it could be a mess. First year design, you're the tester.
Scotty agrees. Isn't there a big recall on that trans?
Lot of complains with cvt. Only with other brands, never heard any issues with toyotas. Maybe diffrent manufactuter?🤔
Like RANT said, it's not a new transmission.
Spawn223311 it’s a piece of shit transmission.
@@mikewaz310 those who complain the cvt are the same people who complain about the dash too.
hopefully it launches in Asia soon
i call my 2017 corolla my permanent rental
full size spare for the hybrid? timing belt or timing chain ?
Who would have thought that one of the very few cars in its segment to offer independent rear suspension was a Corrola? Good job Toyota. Very impressive package. I actually prefer the lower trims less busy front fascia over the high trims maul. No Android Auto is inexcusable I mean somehow Mitsubishi and Mazda beat you to it.
Barely March 2019, and already into the 2020 model year vehicles?
I've noticed they do this when a certain model of a car has a complete remodel
I had two corolla's that were tanks, 1981 an 1996. My 1996 was one of the best cars i have ever owned, very light car, just air bags. Besides from it cornoring it drove better than my 2013 FRS. It was a really fun car to drive, what made it awesome was how light it was. It was a car with no options, no junk in it, just a purist car in every way. 52 Mpg for the hybrid is good option for saving.
A car I'm - actually - planning to buy. Black with dark grey accents. :-)
Honestly the front design looks like if Darth Vader's helmet was styled in a wind tunnel
Nerd alert🙄🙄
More like a Cylon helmet from Cattlestar Galactica. I would but the little light moving side to side in the slot between the headlights.
Did the Corolla do something to him in the past that he is now getting his revenge?😁
corolla is like that nerd ugly looking girl in high school suddenly turn beauty in college
Sick of these idiotic reviewers calling the Corolla boring. It's reliable A-B transportation. Want exciting, buy a Supra. What's boring, it continuing to call it boring.
How long have they been making the Corolla? I knew someone in college, about 1979, who had one. Since then, the Chevy Chevette, Cavalier, Cobalt, Cruze, Dodge Omni, Ford Pinto, Ford Escort, Fort Focus (in the US), and I'm sure a few others have all disappeared. It shows that an average car, if very reliable, will continue to sell. I don't know if the American auto companies can't built a reliable small car or just don't want to, but the bottom line is they never did. I would imagine someone buying a Corolla as their first car may more than likely continue to buy Toyota products. What car is Ford, GM and Chrysler/Dodge selling (or going to sell in the future) that will introduce a young and modest income buyer to their brand?
lmao the second i clicked the vid i was laughing at the host
Can we get the bigger 2.0 motor, smoked tail lights, and other performance goodies in the alternate body styling? Not a fan of the XSE , Kia Forte look.
There's going to be a TRD Corolla hold your horses
Here in Spain only have hybrid versions. Hatch with 180 and 120HP and Sedan with 120HP. Batterys hatch litium or nikel. And sedan only disposable with nikel battery. Sedan is manufactured in Turkey and the factory of nikel batteries is the nearest.
I always check in, to see if Jodi got the gig. Oh well, I'll see Jodi in April @ the New York auto show.with Craig, of course.
FINALLY... didn't trash Toyota.
Generasi altis terganteng 😍.
galzcandra APA kabar?
When will they be out in the market?
I had a base model as a rental with the smaller engine and found it to be a bit noisy and harsh. Unless they were really out of adjustment, I thought the headlights were awful. They were bright, but did not project far enough, falling off completely 3ft in front of the car.
Not every car is meant to be sporty, Corolla is the most reliable car in the market, low on gas, and looks pretty fine to me
قطعة هندسية جميلة متوحشة قوية ماشاء الله اللهم ارزقنا مثلها يا رب العالمين تحفة قوة
Why don’t they make a 180 hp corolla..! Already. Like damn!
The tried and true "3 dial" climate controls should be used in all vehicles. The side profile looks like previous Honda Civic. Such a shame compact sedans are a dying breed.
Exactly! That what I was thinking!!
Carolla xse same price as accord sport...that’s a difficult decision lol
I HATE stuck on infotainment screens in modern cars. It is like: “Oh, we have finished building this new car but forgot to install the screen.... damn, give me so crazy glue and I will stick it right here”.
Toyota took the complaints of too big temperature knobs and made them smaller now people are complaing about them being too small.
**thank you toyota, very cool!**
So here's why I got a 2020 Corolla SE:
LED headlights
Apple Carplay
SafetySense 2.0
40 MPG
Paid 20K....
Now, like millions of others, I've fallen victim to the Corolla.
I like it, for what it is (basic transportation).Toyota and Ford are the only one's addressing the intake carbon buildup issue, buyer beware.
Toyota's standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 on all models puts luxury cars that cost $50,000 to shame.
I can remember driveing around in a 1965 Corolla. It was never spacious
23 for a hybrid, i know what car i'll push my parents for as their second. (First is an 88 caprice)
The new Corolla in XSE looks serious. Toyota is really serious at getting rid of people's perception that think Corollas are nothing but the perennial appliances to survive the suburbs and cul-de-sacs of America.
Tanks
:P
I drive a 1997 Lexus ES 300, and the wheelbase is identical to the Corolla. Ironic. However, the 3 L V6 and 4 speed automatic in my Lexus deliver about 200 HP and ft-lbs of torque, which is nearly identical to the 2.5 L naturally aspirated I4 Camry.
That's engineering progress, I guess. But your ES is still almost new.
@@wholeNwon I hope so. Still, by putting only 3000 miles a year on it, it will be 50 years old when it hits 200,000 miles.
@@HSMiyamoto May you continue to use it in good health for the next half century and longer.
@@wholeNwon Thank you! That is very kind of you to say.
How long till they add Android Auto?
Great intro......ahs-whole.
goshhhh cars now a days is getting more more expensive
The interior from the top
Looks like Carolla 13
A few months ago I heard a kid mention “I hate CVT’s”,he looked like an easy target,so I asked him what was CVT? And he went on about the gearshift & bla bla bla...Then I asked him if he ever drove a car with one & he said “NO”....
The end.
Scotty Kilmer youtube- 50 yrs experience say AVOID CVT!
Mary Stevenson SCOTTY? Scotty expects everyone to drive a 94 Celica or a used Lexus like what he bought for his wife...He even tried to get his son to buy a used Tacoma but the kid bought a brand new one...Scotty has some sense but there are some stuff where he reaches too much.
@@penvon Maybe they worked out the CVT problems? Judging from the review itself- they did not. As long as they warranty it to work or replace it at their cost would I personally roll the dice with my hard earned money. It's a gamble I'm not apt to take. He has a top 10 list of good used cars and the years range in all categories so the assertion that he only voucher for two makes is unfounded.
Mary Stevenson Well many of the vehicles have their issues, some of the Hyundai/Kias have their engine fire issues, the Germans have had a long history of poor reliability & expensive maintenance...I think I’d roll the dice, this isn’t wide spread & there was a recall as well, even Honda & their engines are suspect these days.(I only drive hybrids btw)
Shunday avtomabelim bulsa edi zo'r bo'lardi☺
An SE or XSE Hybrid would be nice. Actually, the Corolla hatch hybrid they have in Europe with its 180 something hp would be even better
There will be more Hybrid variants down the line Toyota said back in November there would be some in the spring they just launched the LE hybrid with the gas models so if people wanted it they could get it.
Starting to nudge the dimensions of the old mid size car market. A grille would have been nice too. But, still, it's a Corolla and Corollas have (Worldwide) an enviable reputation for reliability.
I love Craig Cole
That’s an attractive car.
Craig made this exciting even know the car is boring, good job craig
You forgot to mention the bigger engine gets better MPG than the smaller engine.
Is this the USA model or overseas model
USA
I have a 2017 it’s pretty much the same they just changed the front and the inside just a little but same model from almost 3 years ago
It's on an entire new platform and the body is completely different.
2016- 2018 iM had the fully independent suspension already. Way better the sedan
All of these reviewers heap praise the new Corolla and recommend it, but they just can't seem to say they like it. I'm starting to think they just won't say that even if the redesign had turned it a small Lexus. They . Just . Won't.
Why no WAGON!! T.T
Price?
Looks like a 2020 Scion tC 4 door
High asf Watching live-pd that’s because Scion is a rebadged Toyota, and also owned by Toyota
The guy talking looks like Wheres Wally. 😂 just give a stripey shirt and blue Jean's.
For those mindless people, your car transmission will last you a million miles as long as you change the fluid at 30k miles. Just take care of the car and it will last a lifetime.
Interior dash is hideous with the floating laptop screen hate it. Yuck rather a normal radio dash but the exterior is sick and the rear end definitely looks alot better campared to previous models.
I want one.....but damn I'm poor lol
Go to any Toyota dealership used car section and get a sales pro to set you up with a good used one with a warranty. That's what I did and better and cheaper than buying new. They hold their value too.
Even bums like you are employable under Trump.
