They’re my go-to for practice pad work. Their weight and thickness are just perfect for a good workout. Gigging? Probably not. You’re spot on about the lacquer being “like a bar of soap”. Very slippery. I use Mr. Zog’s Sex Wax on the grip side of most of my sticks and it works well on these too. Take some 250 grit paper, lightly sand the grip end (if you want to keep the logos and white paint) and Sex Wax it up! Otherwise hit the end with a 150 grit and make it a natural. 😉 The length and thickness of these do make your kit sound off well. I just find they wear me down over a time. Great overall though.🤘🏻🤘🏻
Excellent points, they are a good workout stick. I gave the sex wax a go and reviewed it last year, wasn't my thing but it worked alright. Chat soon Brendrum
I think of buying these sticks as I love the size and weight, but I'm a little worried about the paint as my hands get sweaty when I play... Are they bad from that point of view, or they are ok after all? Thanks for the video very useful!!
Hey, TBH it was an issue , and with sweaty palms they were very slippery. I used them for the review period think it was two weeks and it was always an issue. Buy one pair and see how it is for you. I think you will find it and issue but you can always sand paper the butt end where you grip. Let me know how you get on if you remember, chat soon, brendrum 👍🏻
@@migodrums957 If it's an issue and you really like them you could try adding some grip like Aquiles Priester does, as an example. Of course it's going to make them thicker.
In the Thomann catalogue it says they weigh 70 grams each. I use them only for practice, great sticks, but a little too heavy, costly and hard on the cymbals for extreme metal. They do seem very durable for real playing ( and I´ve obviously seen the mighty mr. Lang beat the daylights out of his drums with these sticks without chipping or breaking them, but then he´s more accurate than all of us here), but I have yet to try a stick with wooden tip that doesn't crack after 4-5 hours of blastbeats on my very unforgiving 22" sabian ride..
I used them for quite a while but I got complains they were too loud on cymbals and even I thought they killed the tone on the toms. But I love how they feel in my hands.
Thank you, great review!
I’m delighted you seen it, best of luck Thomas and thanks for the inspiration 🥁
Thomas Lang is insane!
I think he should have the attention guys like Lars has.

Great video, but I'm concerned for the safety of others on the road, as well as yours.
You know what, I can't not argue with you there. you're right
The perfect pair ineed
maybe

yeah, they were to much for me to, i mean they're massive they're like drumline sticks , thanks for watching my video, chat soon
The lacquer has a function I think. It's for people who have dry hands.
I don't think it would work in that case either
Sand the lacquer off bro. I use his sticks and felt the same way. 320 grit sandpaper
Yeah i thought of that but never gave it ago. Ill give it a whirl
@@BrendrumJones Did it work?
@@ferd1572 I haven't tried but I'm sure it would work
Are these 2b?
No Elliot they are way thicker , like i said in the video theyre like a 2b on steroids
@@BrendrumJones 😂😂
I use the VF Ralph Hardimon edition corpmasters, they’re .710 diameter with the white finish. The finish will wear off where you grip it.
I just got a pair today…Dem babies are thiiick lmao!
There are no better sticks made than Vic Firth.
I couldn't disagree more
