Anyone who says they hate Nickelback is lying. It's kind of like Michael Bay they say he's destroying the movie industry yet he pumps out bangers and makes millions
There's a part of me that doesn't get it, but also a part of me that DOES. But I think the 'haters" aren't actually hating the band or the music. Whenever I hear about people "hating" on Nickelback, my sarcasm detector goes nuts! I think they are just being facetious most of the time. Kinda "tongue in cheek" kinda way. But as far as any SERIOUS/ACTUAL hatred to them goes... THAT I don't get.
Why do the haters know all of the lyrics to all of their music? And as a huge fan, why are the concerts seats always sold out? I will always love nickleback.
It's like this: there is a fine line, in any art, between having a distinct style and playing it safe by just doing the same thing over and over. Nickleback's fatal flaw was (a) being juuuuuuust on the wrong side of that line, combined with (b) Top 40 radio network consolidation, which overplayed their music on multiple stations in the same markets, until it was well and truly driven into the ground. Between the two, you couldn't tell _which_ Nickleback song was being played, and it almost didn't matter, because they sounded ALL ALIKE. You also can't miss the presence of a group until they actually _leave you alone_ for a while! I can tolerate Nickleback now just fine...in small doses, please!
The only real criticism of them that I've ever heard is that they don't do anything special. That all their songs are basic radio rock. Which is true. They just happen to do it better than almost every other band. Ever.
Love Nickelback!! I grant dreams for sick kids and a girl with a brain tumor wanted to meet them. These guys went above and beyond for her. Tickets and VIP seating for her and her family, when they stopped in Kenora to do laundry the put together a package of merch and sent to her, they were awesome!!
Chad Kroeger (vocals/ guitar) of Nickleback was actually married briefly to Avril Lavigne... he was her second husband and he co-wrote her self-titled album in 2013. They did a song together that became a single - 'Let me go'... But the album did not do well at the time and Chad and Avril also had a significant age difference (10 years) as well as different attitudes... and that contributed to their separation and divorce by 2015. Nickleback also paid tribute to ZZ Top by performing their song 'Sharp-dressed man' live on VH1... and yes, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top appeared on Nickleback's 'Rockstar' and did the co-vocals. Strangely, for all the load$ of money Nickleback made since 2000... none of the members have been high profile rock stars... Even Chad Kroeger has been a private fellow and has struggled w/ alcoholism over the years.

I was never a fan of Nickelback until unforeseen circumstances ended up with me taking my 16-year-old niece and her friend to the dark horse tour o4/23/2009. It started storming in the middle of Atlanta with tornadoes and this guy got pushed up underneath the awning next to me. A year later we got married and have been together for 15 years. I will forever love Nickelback ❤❤
That would be Dale Earnhart Jr. The race car driver from nascar....when jr was still racing he once said during practice and setting the car up he would play nickleback and 3 doors down in his helmet to pass the time. He liked gettin out and haulin ass with some rock n roll in his head 😎😂😂✌️out
Also, that was Gene Simmons from Kiss... not Richard Simmons! Richard just passed away last week, actually. He was a health and fitness guru from the '80s and '90s!
As a Canadian Prairie guy thru and thru, I will always love Nickelback. They were the first band I ever saw in concert, and remain cool in my mind to this day. Those haters can stuff their heads. Photograph and Fight for all the Right Reasons are also awesome
Nickleback has so many great songs! Love this one, This Means War, Far Away, and Photograph are my favorites! They picked their band name because they said they drank so much Starbucks coffee.... you go in there for a coffee, give them $7 and just get a nickel back!
Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell, Cindy Taylor, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Eliza Dushku, Dominique Swain, Gene Simmons, Wayne Gretzky, Big & Rich's John Rich, the cast of The Girls Next Door, Tom Petkos, Kid Rock, Stacey Travis, Lupe Fiasco, Twista, Nelly Furtado, the crew from American Chopper, Paul Wall, Ted Nugent, Grant Hill, Taryn Manning, Lindsey Shaw, Riki Lindhome, Federico Castelluccio, Jerry Cantrell, Liam Lynch, Jordan Carlos, the Naked Cowboy, Three 6 Mafia and numerous others.
This is wicked. I'm sitting about 1/2 hour from where they are from. I'm in Drumheller Alberta, and they were from Hanna Alberta. I have always loved their music.
I will never understand how that one comedians comments set off this whole trend of hating on Nickleback. They just had a documentary come out on things up until now, with them getting back in gear after the ‘vid’ they had such a unique come up and they never stopped hate or not they found a groove and are one of the biggest rock bands in history. Period end of story.
This song actually saved Nickelback's career after they hit the exposure singularity and became one of the only bands in history to become unpopular due to over exposure because at any given time they could be found playing on 2-5 radio stations simultaneously and everyone knew every word to every song. Very unique story. Pretty sure the professor has the full breakdown.
SO many recognizable/famous people in this video. Great band that so many people make fun of or say they hate, yet those same people will be in the stadiums they're playing.
I was at a nickelback concert last week and they took a fan from the crowd and got him to sing this song with them. I say the fan felt like a rock star at that moment.
They get flack, but I love them. This was my old ringtone back in the day. The bike guys were from American Choppers. They did custom theme bikes (their MIA & Black Widow bikes are must see)
Richard Simons? hahaha..you mean Gene, right? The Banjo guy is John Rich from Big and Rich the "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" guys. Racecar driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. I love this song, your reaction is so much fun watch. 40!
I was 20 years old, in love and high on life when this one came out! Played it non stop that summer! Haven't heard it in years, thanks for reacting to this one brother, a lot of memories came back! ❤️✌🏻
Dale Jr. was the Nascar guy. such a dope video. I think I was the only kid that liked Nickelback in school. Still do. I still preach that they were underrated and have some classics that stand the test of time.
This is such a great song, and an incredible video! But figuring out all the cameos is even harder than figuring out everyone in "We Are the World' and "Do They Know It's Christmas?" since they have everyone from randos to sports stars to actors to athletes, to.... LOL Sooooo glad you took a listen to this. Takes me right back. :D Thanks!
Nickleback are the best! If you watch the video of them reacting to their haters online.. you see what truly down to earth and wholesome guys they really are.. and their ability to laugh and take it all in stride was really the cutest.. and honestly quite admirable to see. Yup.. they got a lot of heat.. but I think they've come out the other side of all the stupidity that was the soap box all the sheep jumped on and gave them guff. Now.. all the realest people have come forward and have defended their rise to fame and just appreciate the great music they gave us all. What a crazy ride!🤪🤭 BTW... love this song.. and loved even more that you truly got that it was tongue and cheek!! 😅 Cheers from Canada 😊🍁
I am a huge Nickelback fan and they really do get unfairly hated. They can rock hard or sing ballads with so much emotion (Just check out lullaby) - and they have fun. I have seen the in concert twice and they are one of the best live bands out here. Just great stuff. On a side note, they are the masters of making good music videos with stories in them. Another couple of great nostalgic sings that they sing is 'Photograph' and 'Those Days'.
I love your reaction vids. And I was so hoping you were going to listen to more of Nickleback... they have so many powerful songs ❤ God bless brother 🙏
Loved your reaction. I love this song, for a strange reason though. My mom is 73, and she LOVES music. She told me this is a song she wants to be played at her funeral, she doesn't want a sad affair, she wants there to be fun, and she says she hopes it's one big fun party on the other side of those pearly gates.
The amount of culture and genuine happiness across the board in this video from almost 20 years ago should be the example of what the media has done to America
It is dad rock-and I’m not gonna lie-I have and still do sometimes make fun of Nickelback-but you know what, this is exceptional. I like this song. Billy Gibbons singing about how he wants to “have the quesadilla” is something that makes the song so memorable to me-but then I love me some ZZ Top. By the way Black Pegasus…you are an inspiration. I was super depressed. I’m over forty-just like you-and I’m super depressed….but watching your video might have saved me from the deep end today-please don’t stop-and don’t give up on humanity. Times haven’t been easy for me. Sometimes the best I can pray for is to just die peacefully in my sleep….thanks for keeping me from taking the easy way out.
Hang In there brother. I turned 55 a few weeks ago and have fought depression since my early 20’s, my father passed away when I was nineteen, he was only 42. Sometimes I win, sometimes it wins. I have no blood family left other than my 18 year old daughter. I do have a girlfriend but it is a long distance relationship and we only get to see each other every couple months and since my daughter is growing up and driving and has a boyfriend, I don’t see her as often as I used to and and as often do go days in every week I’m thinking about ya and in your corner rooting for you!
I failed. Failing sucks...but was also the best thing that could have happened...just know you might fail and end up in a coma or paralyzed or whatever and have a fate worse than normal life. I had to have my stomach pumped by a gorgeous sexy doctor while my friend teased me how they would never want me in that condition with my head in a garbage can being sick from the charcoal they fed me. Yeah...that's not the way to go yall. I tried twice but turns out the universe knew I had stuff to do later and I'm so glad I'm here now...the music often got me through the worst of times. That's why I love it and love to share it.
@@ConspiracySmurf keep on keepin’ on brother! I was very close a handful of nights and even though I was suffering g in the dark and couldn’t see the way out, I somehow still had a sliver of clarity that I knew I couldn’t leave my daughter like that so essentially, she saved my life and doesn’t even know it. That has been been years ago now and I do still struggle with it I haven’t seriously thought about the easy way out since! Plus the easy way out does not end the pain and suffering, it just transfers it to the people that are left behind. Really glad you are still here my brother!
@@Tbirdhaynes Sometimes you need to hear it from a total stranger. And I should have used Smurfette but there can be only one Smurfette hahahah not a "brother" but Gen X chicks were the only girls allowed to run with the boys so we are awesome and might as well be one of the bros because we survived lol
Love Nickleback! They get a lot of shit for being cheesy rock music but they have created some outstanding rock tunes and I give the middle finger to those who criticize them. There is no room for that shit in music. The video is a lot of fun. On-screen celebrities include ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons (who voices his lines in the song), UFC fighter Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell, actress Cindy Taylor, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., actresses Eliza Dushku and Dominique Swain, KISS bassist Gene Simmons, ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, country music duo Big & Rich’s John Rich, Playboy models Kendra Wilkinson, Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt from reality television series The Girls Next Door, actor Tom Petkos, musician Kid Rock, actress Stacey Travis, rappers Lupe Fiasco and Twista, singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado, the crew from motorcycle-themed reality television show American Chopper, rapper/DJ Paul Wall, musician Ted Nugent, basketballer Grant Hill, actresses Taryn Manning, Lindsey Shaw and Riki Lindhome, actor Federico Castelluccio, filmmaker/musician Liam Lynch, comedian Jordan Carlos, the Naked Cowboy, hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia, cyclist Brian Walton
I believe the girl in the bubble bath is actress Dominique Swain. Most people who "hate" Nickelback have probably never heard them, you don't sell over 50 million albums without some talent. The "hate" came from the fact that they were heavily played on radio and tv for a while and a comedian made a joke about "hating" Nickelback in an interview and it spread, it became "cool and popular" to hate the band even though they were selling out stadiums all over the world. Now the new generation of music fans hears all the "I hate Nickelback" crap and assume that the music sucks.
Nickleback is awesome, and you can tell by the folks who were happy to pop in for a cameo in the video. If you can get Dale Earnhardt Jr., WAYNE f'n Gretsky, Gene Simmons of Kiss, and one of the dudes from ZZ Top in a video, you're doing something right. They've got another rock party song - "This Afternoon".
One of the band members worked at a starbucks,at cash register. He would say "here's your Nickelback ( there change) all day, hence, the name Nickelback
Did a google search, and apparently a good amount of the hate for Nickelback (according to some Reddit posts,) is that 1- several people said they don't think their content is very original (aping earlier bands and artists,) and that Nickelback doesn't evolve as a group, most of their songs the same from beginning of their career to the present, 2- immature lyrics, 3- later songs were more aimed at commercial success and big label approval. Mind you I don't particularly agree with much of the comments I found. Those are the kind of comments I found repeated the most. The stuff I don't like, I don't listen to. And I have listened to and liked Nickelback, over the years, some songs more than others.
I'm still a fan of Nickleback. Don't care what others say.❤❤❤❤
👍👍
Me also, and I have never understood the hate waves. The music is just so good.
Me too!
who hurt you and why?
Same!
Spit my drink out when you said Richard Simmons....it's Gene Simmons
I had cereals go through my nose!😂
Lmfaobi straight up spit my coffee across the kitchen.... Richard Simmons excersice guy in 80s he just passed away !!! Gene Simmons Kiss
That’s hilarious, Richard Simmons 😂.

Same. I get that every popular band has it'd haters, but it's seemed disproportionate for Nickelback

Nickleback will sell out stadiums and I’ve never figured out why people make fun of them because those same people are at their concerts!
Who knows why people start that 💩about a group! Long ago I learned to laugh and just say you do you!

About it year ago, Garth Brooks gave Nickleback a shout out, saying they're so underrated. It's true.
Love Nickelback!! Never understood all the hate!! Gen X here!!
He liked gettin out and haulin ass with some rock n roll in his head 😎😂😂✌️out
Of course it was Wayne Gretzky he's Canadian and so is Nickelback and Nelly Furtado and Gene Simmons wife❤️🇨🇦 Nickelback puts on the best live shows
I was never one of the nickelback haters. Never understood it. With that being said, this song FKN rocks
Also, that was Gene Simmons from Kiss... not Richard Simmons! Richard just passed away last week, actually. He was a health and fitness guru from the '80s and '90s!
Gonna say that.
As a Canadian Prairie guy thru and thru, I will always love Nickelback. They were the first band I ever saw in concert, and remain cool in my mind to this day. Those haters can stuff their heads. Photograph and Fight for all the Right Reasons are also awesome
Orange County Choppers
Love Nickelback. ❤
Nickleback has so many great songs! Love this one, This Means War, Far Away, and Photograph are my favorites! They picked their band name because they said they drank so much Starbucks coffee.... you go in there for a coffee, give them $7 and just get a nickel back!
Nickleback is under-rated. Rock Star is a fun one to listen to. Another good one is 'Just to Get High', that one hits hard.
Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell, Cindy Taylor, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Eliza Dushku, Dominique Swain, Gene Simmons, Wayne Gretzky, Big & Rich's John Rich, the cast of The Girls Next Door, Tom Petkos, Kid Rock, Stacey Travis, Lupe Fiasco, Twista, Nelly Furtado, the crew from American Chopper, Paul Wall, Ted Nugent, Grant Hill, Taryn Manning, Lindsey Shaw, Riki Lindhome, Federico Castelluccio, Jerry Cantrell, Liam Lynch, Jordan Carlos, the Naked Cowboy, Three 6 Mafia and numerous others.
Eric Idle from Monty Python with the white wig.
I’ve been waiting on this reaction! Love this song… brings back so many awesome memories!
He needs to do PHOTOGRAPH now!
@@ConspiracySmurf agreed!!👍🏼
This is wicked. I'm sitting about 1/2 hour from where they are from. I'm in Drumheller Alberta, and they were from Hanna Alberta. I have always loved their music.
Nickelback is an AWESOME rock band!!!!
I love Nickelback awesome band
I never got the hated for Nickleback, but I was indifferent until this song. It so catches the vibe of the early 2000s.
The Naked Cowboy walked Times Square with his guitar and sang. He was a bit of a Celebrity.
Nickleback is one of the greatest bands that everyone talks trash about...and then blasts it on the radio while crusin!! Love em!
Nickelback, this band origins in Hanna, Alberta Canada as Albertan myself they're loud&proud.
I have always enjoyed Nickelback! The more people talked the more I listened to the music. That's what I'm there for ❤
Love Nickleback, this is one of their super catchy tunes. Thanks B.P.👍❤️
They did custom theme bikes (their MIA & Black Widow bikes are must see)
I have always been a fan of Nickelback and I still am a fan
Nickelback are such a great band live
Richard Simons? hahaha..you mean Gene, right? The Banjo guy is John Rich from Big and Rich the "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" guys. Racecar driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. I love this song, your reaction is so much fun watch. 40!
Nickelback is still one of the greatest bands out there they are signed to the same label as HARDY & you can't go wrong with with either one!
The song that makes everyone realize that Nickelback is pretty awesome
I was 20 years old, in love and high on life when this one came out! Played it non stop that summer! Haven't heard it in years, thanks for reacting to this one brother, a lot of memories came back! ❤️✌🏻
LOVE THIS SONG!!!
I luv nickelback! Didn't care who did or didn't liked them . And honestly at least half those people would jam to them.
Dale Jr. was the Nascar guy. such a dope video. I think I was the only kid that liked Nickelback in school. Still do. I still preach that they were underrated and have some classics that stand the test of time.
Other kids liked them. Theu just claimed not to and listened to them secretly
:D Thanks!
I LOVE this song!
Love this video! That was Orange County Choppers! One of the catchiest songs and great lyrics!
Nickel back is bad ass. I’ve been to 4 of their shows and they’re unbelievable
Nickelback is from a small town just outside the city I live in. I have meet them when I work at Walmart
And those are the BIKERS (Dad and sons) from Orange County Choppers...they do custom bikes!
I love Nickleback! You're the first person I've seen react to this song. Love, love, love it! Thank you!!
Nickelback and Wayne Gretzy, and Nelly Furtado are Canadian as am I. 🇨🇦
Yes Sir
That's Billy Gibbons ZZ TOP
Great Reaction
I love all Nicklebacks music 🎶 ❤awesome
Nickelback is the best band ever
❤️🔥. Love it. Haven’t seen this in years
Just saw them this past October AMAZING!
I love Nickelback, seen them 3 times in concert.
As long as their Canadian I'll love them, can't turn my back on my own
Finally. This song is dope. Not a big fan of their but they do have some catch songs and this is one of em.
Appreciate you!
I love Nickleback as a Canadian I'm proud of all the Canadian references as well. Great reaction and Peace out ✌️ ☮️ 🙏
I love this song, "Photograph", "Feelin' Way Too Damn Good", "Never Again", "Figured You Out" and "Burn It To The Ground".
I love their song "Photograph"
The amount of culture and genuine happiness across the board in this video from almost 20 years ago should be the example of what the media has done to America
So simple yet one of the coolest music videos ever.
@@ConspiracySmurfI’m so sorry SISTER!
Banger tune, defo need more Nickleback, there are so many top songs by them
I love Nickelback ... i never understood all the sudden rush of hate towards them ... Never Again is one of my personal faves 🇨🇦
I ABSOLUTELY Love Chad and Santanas collaboration on “Into the Night” such a gypsy song.❤❤
I love this song too!! But my all time favorite that they did was Gotta Be Somebody.
One Nickleback song I actually like
Love Nickleback!
Rock Star is the song me and my wife rock out too. Love it. Dale Earnhardt Jr is the race car driver in the video.
😂😂😂 Gene Simmons! 😂😂😂 this videos gonna get you in trouble! 😂
RIP Richard Simmons, just died a few days ago.
This song is just a fun song. I love all the cameos in the video.
I seen Nickelback worth Daughtry and Staind. I will always love Nickelback!
Best reaction to this video yet! You hadn't seen it but still have the knowledge to appreciate all the people in the video.
I love Nickelback ❤️
Love Nickleback ❤🎉
I'm a 70s teenager, now 65 and I love Nicole Nickleback 💕
62 year old lady, I LUV them!!!
LMAO RIchard Simmons with Kiss. Just think how awesome that would have been.
