      @@lashyndragon The very first match when you start up Chapter 2 is against all bots. It's to get you psyched about playing it again and again to try and nab another win. If you look at your stats for wins, you'll notice that the win didnt actually count on that first match it puts you in.

      I just built an itx tinker rig with a 3600 and 5700xt and i got an evga bq500 watt psu and didnt do my homework it only had one 8 pinn power connector and i had to use a molex adapter ive never used one before and hated using one. Ive built probably 20 systems and it shows you need to check your parts. But it was my first itx in a thermaltake white core v1 and its a pretty powerful machine. The 2600 and 3600 especially the 2600 for $118 is the best deal in cpu’s right now. But in my main gaming rig its still intel/nvidia. Glad I had about 20 of those adapters even though I hate them but it works fine. I was scared a 500 watt psu wasnt enough but I didn’t have much extra’s just using one nvme ssd and 3 fans fans, plus I’m using a 972mv undervolt on the xt and running the 3600 at 4.2 1.3v. Seems like it maxes out around 400watts that’s not as much leeway as i wanted should’ve got a 550 or 600 but its doing the job everything works fine.

      @XBOXRULES Nah, he's perfectly fine.

    • @zatozatoichi7920
      @zatozatoichi7920 4 роки тому +4

      @XBOXRULES Kiddo? Rofl. While that 500 W EVGA PSU is not a high-end model, it's still decent (and it's not even that cheap). 41,5 A on the +12 V rail, which is adequate. 45 A would be better, but I wouldn't call it a too dangerous game. The ref. RX 5700 XT has a typical 225 W TDP and the Ryzen 5 3600 has a default 65 W TDP, and all these stuff dynamically change up and down, in relation of the workload. I wouldn't call his solution a decent headroom, as he's probably just within the margin, so let's call his PSU borderline OK, if he's not planning on overclocking hardcore. He should use PBO for the CPU, and undervolt the 5700XT. With the latter, he would lose a few percent of the performance (if any), but would gain less power consumption, cooler GPU and less noise. Navi's stock configuration is not really optimal, you have to tweak it a little.
      Wattage is a secondary thing to a certain extent, what really matters is the inside electronics and capacitors + the safety features.
      Btw I'm into PCs for 25 years now, had COUNTLESS rigs, even traded with parts (almost business-like) for 5 years, worked at PC recycling shops, and in the last 1,5 years, I work for my country's biggest IT site (few hundred thousand registered user accounts) as an editor/tester, so I think while I'm not an utmost professional, I had my fair share of basic education in this field.
      Cheers.

    Wow! This is bringing me way back... I had an HP workstation, an older model. I don't recall the model number, but I do recall that it was a dual P!! 200MHz. I had a 15K Seagate UWSCSI in it. That thing was so fast for the era, but it was crazy expansive. I did replace the video card like four times, before deciding to replace the entire computer because I was finally CPU bottleneck. But it lasted a good five years. Anyways, I recall it looking just like this one.

    At the time of that commercial, Opteron was superior to Xeon with respect to performance per watt, we're talking the P4 era here.... I had an Opteron 165 back in 2005, an 1800mhz processor, that was 100% stable at 2.8Ghz with virtually no added voltage. The thing was an absolute beast that had no equal from Intel in perf per watt. Obviously once the Core architecture released in 2007 on desktop, the story changed dramatically and yeah Xeon and Intel started their run of dominance at every level.
    An SSD might have helped with the streaming in of assets and the stutters... just a thought, you might grow to love it haha...
    Also, considering it's age... I actually think that the Cinebench score was pretty good lol...😁

    I currently have mine sitting in a 4u chassis. Pump wouldn't fit so I used cooler master vortex. 550w seasonic. Had 15tb of storage for a unifi NVR with 12 cameras. I have 3 of my 4 baord still working. One is the actual Tyan version of that board. But I have a r5 1600 now that smoke this old thing. But, the 1600 does not have PCIe Lane's. So this thing is really only good for storage now, maybe mining. But it sure is fun to tinker with. That PSU works, but that's it. The 550 handled laods much better, especially for my use. Tried three RX 460's in one because I had them lying around, and yeah, that 1050 would cut out or give me bsod's. 2 of the three did not require a molex, so no jank adapters. Oddly, the 550w worked with there cards that lasted a day before I had to become serious with it.

    its shocking how well it runs even modern software... actually very good for video encoding, he actually uses a desktop to setup jobs, then exports them over to that setup to let them run, he did add a 2060ko when his other sapphire videocard had a fan fail, and baked itself.. (one of 3..and..yeah...) anyway...he says it works better then his dual x5690@4.7ghz all cores, despite the amd system being slower in benchmarks.. (i gather the avx and fma support actually are used by some video editing software. )

    I used one of those as a main for a couple years after my 4790 build died for some reason, I eventually narrowed the issue to the motherboard taking a shit, when I got back to my i7, I missed my 64gbs of ram. paired with a regular 1070 it ran pretty good, aside from the pants clock speed. I had a couple 2431s in it. (I totally dont have it booted on my 4th screen because I forgot what cpus I shoved into it)

    best thing about that old opteron commercial was that is literally what amd has been doing for years now, overvolting the crap out of stuff to squeeze the extra bit out of it, I never regretted a purchase so bad more than my vega 64 that power sucking monster, happily moved to a 2080 super a while back :) less power and more performance is a win win

    Doom doesn't run badly on all old hardware, I was using a Xeon on x58 and getting over 100fps with an RX480. Maybe it just depends on which old hardware.

    "765 (live run)/757cb (screenshot) multicore, 60cb single core"
    For comparison, I just done a run with my Ryzen 3 1200 @ 3.9GHz, I got 587cb multi, 154cb single.

      Sounds about right, there's some reference scores for me in cb & it shows the 6c/12t 3930k @ 3.3GHz is 1096 multi/148 single, for multi it's beat by the 12c/24t Xeon X5650 @ 2.66GHz with 1279 multi/93 single, for single the 3930k @3.3 GHz is beat by my 4c/4t Ryzen 3 1200 @3.9GHz with the 4c/8t 4770k @ 4.4GHz on top for single with 165 single/822 multi

      @@letto18 That 1096 multi is actually about 4.2-4.3 ghz tho, cinebench doesn't show true frequencies for some reason :)
      At stock i get about 960 points or so, don't remember excactly but slightly below 1000.
