Was gonna say, you had *less* free space after running it. Presumably because it backed up the things it was deleting and somehow... made it take up more space?
@@drewwilliams1337 Yep, or you can go: My Computer > Right Click C Drive > Properties > General Tab > Click Disk Cleanup, Which does the same thing this program does (free)..
CCleaner does the same thing for free(and actually does it)
And it shows what you're deleting
There is a ashampoo equalant for cleaner
Run away from Ccleaner, it used to be good then got bought out and now it's trash
@@versedavies do not use any of these free programs please, what do they earn money on? it may not be what you want. Just use windows defender please! nothing more is really required, if you want too clean your windows just use the built in windows disk cleaner

Good luck in getting Windows XP to run with 1 MEGABYTE of memory!
You can get it to run on 51 megabytes but it sucks and takes over 10 minutes to boot.
It's XP it will run on dreams if it has to. For real I got my Pentium 2 to run XP.
@@AlexanderVRadev I had a pentium 2 laptop that was running it but with 64 megabytes of ram, it was slow and occasionally crashed but with more ram would run properly.

I'm a technician at a local Computer Repair establishment and the Local news ran a story on this product a few years ago. I was interviewed and everything for it. The old one had a USB drive and it basically just cleaned your junk/temp files. All stuff CCleaner can do for free. Kinda fun to see this video pop up in my Subscription feed.
that tv news stations is the one where i lived and i remember watching that and i was cleaning out clearance stuff at my job and found one of the usb ones and its actually now a penny item

I've always used Macrium as well, but you forgot to mention when cloning that you may have to resize partitions manually in order to properly clone a drive! It took me about 3 years to talk my dad into going with ssd's I replaced his drive in his Gateway "Which he got for free from them over some class action", when he saw the difference it made he threw a fit to change the one in his laptop. But Macrium also allows live cloning for those with only 1 pc "it is better to use a secondary pc for cloning a drive", though like I said you may have to do a little math while partitioning the new drive since it will most likely have less storage capacity than your old mechanical drive and all that excessive free space will not fit in the last partition and the software will not resize it for you! But it is not hard to do and Macrium offers a decent user guide.
And those kinds of software will also clone the MBR (Master boot record) partition from the HDD by re-partitioning the SSD it is copying the clone to rather than keeping its original GPT (GUID Partition Table) partition (GPT allows the SSD to operate at peak efficiency), so you may want to go into Disk Management and see if those drives are running on a GPT partition, if it's on MBR then just look up on google, there are plenty of guides that allow you to convert from MBR to GPT in just a few minutes while keeping all your files and the OS intact, no downloads required as you're using files pre-installed with your operating system it just requires some cmd prompt.
This was a fun and worthwhile PSA. I literally just helped my friend switch over to an SSD from HDs and id forgotten how big the difference is. I'd started to take nvme boot times for granted.

Yeah, right click on your C drive, click Properties and then cleanup. That's a lot faster than entering a web address and serial # twice and filling out a form and activating software...

I recently ordered a 120gb ssd for 18 bucks. You really cant go wrong going that route.
I upgraded my parents computer with an SSD a little while ago, and my dad (who innitially said I shouldnt waste my money on something useless) can't get over the increase in speed for everyday things like opening files, internet browser ect. :D

Windows 10 comes with Disk Cleanup, and it's free, and basically does the same thing. My experience cloning to a new SSD has been pretty hit or miss. I often had to clone it several times before it would boot from the new drive.

Well you didnt check box to not make backups of files deleted, so not much space was saved.

in the earlier days these sort of tools did work and you'd see some small gains in performance but with ssd boot drives and a gaming drive mechanical configuration its not much of an issue anymore. hasn't been an issue since windows 7

It's basically CCleaner, which looks and acts completely like that program but is free online. They just took that and sold it and probably want you to subscribe monthly as well.

This is not a hate comment! I just wanted to let you know encase if you didn't know this. SSD stands for Solid State Drive, not Solid State Hard Drive. A Solid State Hard Drive (or SSHD for short) is a SSD and mechanical hard drive combo. Again, this is not a hate comment, its just informational. Also, loved this vid! Keep it up!

I took the SSD out of my ASUS ROG and slapped it into my desktop since I wanted an SSD for my all new desktop build (new minus the drives) and luckily for me, windows decided to corrupt on my laptop's SSD, and at the time I thought the SSD died, so I replaced it with a larger SSD and replaced the hard drive since SSD's are suppose to outlive hard drives, and if your SSD does die first, your hard drive is likely not far behind. I found out however with a USB 3.0 to SATA cable with that older SSD that it was not dead, but infact windows corrupted and would only fully erase windows files through the USB 3.0 to SATA connection with the basic windows format tool. I don't know why when I tried reinstalling windows that it just would not work before declaring the SSD dead even though it wasn't, but once I realized it was working perfectly fine after removing the corrupted windows files, I set it aside as because at that time I had already ordered all the parts needed to build a new desktop, except for drives which I was going to use my older hard drives, so right now my desktop is quite fast, and would boot quickly if I turned on quick boot but I find it such a pain in the ass to get into the bios when need be when the moment comes up to press the Delete key comes and goes in a blink of an eye. Gave up trying to get into the bios on my laptop because I just can not press the button in time, no matter how fast I mash the keys lol
Valkota ...hold the delete key down as you boot...or hold down the esc key, or the F12 key...one of them will halt the boot sequence for you. :)
