- The HP Blackbird 002 with a Core2Quad x9650 and 2 GTX 590 graphics cards is the most overkill, senseless crazy boutique PC that HP ever made! Probably because it's got VooDoo DNA!

I have found that I enjoy watching your videos on older hardware. When I first found your channel I was thinking this guy is annoying I don't understand why people watch him.... Then I found myself coming back and watching more. You grew on me sir and keep it up. I am a subscriber now. Thanks for the videos.
I love crazy hardware from previous decades. My first overclock was in the late 70's MOS 6502 1Mhz to 2Mhz required soldering and modding tracks on the motherboard. Thanks for the memories..
REA Electric lol sounds awesome man.
Thanks and your channel looks cool will sub...Ballistic Cheeseburger Retro is the New new Old man
REA Electric lol was that an accident 😂 sorry but my channel is dead. If you like it then thanks, but my channel has sorta been dead for a while. I'm not very good at making videos so I quit editing.
REA Electric how old are you? 92?
Barry John lol
This has been my dream pc for quite a while now, hopefully I can find one at an affordable price one day!
I paused it when you flapped the case open at 1:05!
Aaron Greenfield *What a rebel*
I picked up 2 boutique towers at the dump the other day when I was dropping off a couch. They had chrome psus, a clear side panel, solid aluminum front. Both had phenomX4 HD9600 and sli gts 8600s.
I got one of these about a year ago for $75 without a PSU... Fun rebuild and proud to have it!
(The one I have has dual 9800s, and the same CPU as yonder)
I have the non extreme version of that cpu, the core2quad q9650. Basically like half the price of that extreme version. Still OC'd well for the price but now I am having All sorts of issues with my aging PC. Great video TimmyJoe...
You obviously loved slamming that side panel shut lol
issaciams 🙂 q9650 is nice and decent
Happy to see you making it man been here pretty much sense the beginning, but it makes me sad that someday in the near future you won't be able to answer every comment because your gonna have so many! Good work keep it up
Jacob Greene lol great reason to be sad tho isn't it? I love this channel and watching it grow. I really do like Jimmy toe.
#JimmyToeTech is the new LTT
😒👍 Finally! Include the Watt Meter Readings in all future benchmarks, every, single, time, yay! And Happy 4th Everyone! 🇺🇸😍🚩
nearly 60k subs - nice work dude!!! :D :D
This case is so nice! You could mod it to make it even more awesome than it already is!
Love the channel bro! Keep up the great work! You got a good thing going!
Holy crap! I forgot these existed...brings back memories!
I bought a couple of these cheap and flipped them on eBay for a few bucks 10 years ago. I still feel like buying a case and making it my main with new components, of course. I found the firebird too, but not much to upgrade, so I threw a ssd in it and sold it.. it was fun though.
I've been here since you had 9K subs my man. Amazing to see how much you have grown.
Hey Timmy that was a cool video! Ditch the the two GPU's with something newer? I used to have a Core two Quad q9650 with ddr3 ram as well. Would love to see how well it holds up with 16 gigs of ddr3 and modern Graphics. Having a 4 gigahertz or higher overclock on CPU would be interesting to see with modern gaming.
I have that Pc case and I was thinking of building a pc with it, is that a good idea?
Anyone has any idea where i could get a case similar to that one? i like the look of it
The sound of that side panel closing...
Any chance you can up grade the psu and run cinnabench again?
I'm trying to rebuild this behemoth. Is it worth the rebuild? You didn't seem to thrilled with it. Any suggestions?
that case looks modern! wild computer.
I got one of these . Any idea what I can sell it for
Great video, I love that case!
A modern sleeper PC build in that case could be pretty sick... somehow convert that pop up media section to USB 3.0 also
i just replaced my cpu cooler that exact antec AIO with a nh d15.
Anyone know how to update the bios one of these dinosaurs????
Just found this channel, and dude, you are hilarious, good job!
that is an awesome case. I am curious to know how good it does with cooling.
Pretty well, mine's still running (only have one video card though). Because it's raised on that foot thing there's actually airflow underneath as well to cool the power supply
@@kylekafka6636 ok, but you didn't actually ever say what your temps are or with what hardware...
last pc I saw that heavy was an xeon 1 server i had lying around in my basement this thing was a fricking tank
Oof, so an intel core 2 quad extreme beats my amd athlon x4 845 quad core. Granted mine is still stock speeds at 3.5 (naturally stays turbo at 4ghz) and only having a rough 300 on cinebench. I’m too afraid to overclock my cpu if even possible
I don't remember if you've mentioned it in the video but HP VoodooDNA still exists, they just changed the name to HP OMEN. Still uses the same logo.
smoked_out He did
I used to have a Maximum PC featuring this.
I have an i7 3820 and it is a power hungry thing. I love that giant case on that beast.
i have one sitting on my table now. needs a power supply, going to try to sell it, just cant throw it away
i love that case dude
I am currently running one in my unraid server. Qx9650 been ocd the past 4 years.
Another great video! As a follow, up, drop the quad GPUs and slap your GTX 1050 ti in there. Results might surprise you. 😊
I got a Dell XPS 720 H2C from this time period.
Game grumps yo
I love your ginger beard and you aren’t irritating. I love your authentic enthusiasm, have you considered being a TopGear presenter?
At 4.2 you should get more than 500 point in cinebench. Raise FSB, lower multiplier and tune RAM and NB timings.
The case actually looks realy cool
its a nice case, id strip and rebuild it
4 quads duo, impressive.
Liked it before i pressed play!
u can try some old dual socket workstations .....
Timmy I need a gpu that only consumes 20 watts that can play games plz help
Step 1 get a time machine step 2 go 5 years into the future step 3 play games step for find out who wins the 2020 World Series step 4 go back in time to 2000 before you were born but whatever you do do not hook up with your own mom
I had one given to me in the past. Sold processor and case lol. Awesome case... too heavy
Wow that power consumption lol.
Perhaps a decent upgrade/sidegrade ? Would be a gtx 970 or gtx 1060 3 gb.
(Even if there is a cpu bottleneck it would be keeping the power draw down a bit by about 350 - 500w)
(Each 590 is rated at 365w tdp so not surprising it's shutting down really.)
Tyler looks like Shroud like if you aggre
Looking forward to seeing Timmy spread his wings, be Fun ( Timmy U got the Cinebench Ramble down my friend ) 8-) Ty
Core 2 quad 9650 Extream was a monster. Back when they made good shit.
Your friend is called Santiago Santiago?
14:03 R.I.P Vertebrae.
TBH, the graphics on the side panel looks like JIZZZZZZZZ
Looks like a manufacturing defect. Could have been a money shot though?
11 years old ... gtx590 launched march of 2011... im missing something or ive been asleep for a few years?
dude my i7 quad 3610qm has a single core geekbench 3540 and multicore 12703 its old but i got it pumpin hard @3.3. :-P
Back when the first i7 was made i7 960 if I am correct.
Ok they case is pretty dope
Wattage... Monster... Hahaha.. Nice video TJ..
If you upgraded the CPU and MOBO it would probably get better wattage or explode.
cool video, the thumbnail kinda looks weird with the plain black background though
Anyone else hearing a faint, ultra low rumble that starts around the 4:00 mark? Not sure what that's about. I think your mic is picking up some sort of interference, timmy
VCPU is 1.8V!!! And I begin to worry when I go like 1.225V on my CPU lol.
I always wanted a VooDoo PC but we were way too poor at the time for them. I was pretty sad to see them getting bought out by HP, definitely an end of an era at the time. I found this machine locally with a single GTX960 in it and of course it has overheating issues. I considered resurrecting the original spec but i decided i wanted to use it more frequently than a top of the line WinXP machine so I'm gutting it and building a modern PC inside!
this was where the OG HP Omen was born from.
Those QX9650 are crazy in terms of OC. But they run too hot that it need 240mm AIO.
They def are competing against Alienware PC.
My main rig is still a LGA775
4.2GHz is impressive
Lin Chester core 2 never gets old. I found an Alienware at the dump with a core 2 duo and an EVGA 680i SLi motherboard. I threw a core 2 quad in there with the GTX 660 that was in there (probably not the original card) and away it went.
Ballistic Cheeseburger damn nice find.
Lin Chester certainly, became part of my LAN party setup
Ballistic Cheeseburger i have a few baller LGA775 with me. My rare find was the QX6800 for 50 bucks which is the 65nm version of the QX9650. Second find was the Q6600 with a free P45 board i got from a buddy of mine.
The best find so far was my current Q9650 with a X48 board. Won it from an auction bid.
Lin Chester slicc. I would succ that any day.
Why not using R9 295X2 in crossfire?🤨
After seeing the performance of this thing I don't feel so bad about my i5 3350P. The best score I got on stock settings in Cinebench was 475 but that was mostly luck. It's still a decent machine, but I'm definately going to upgrade once I've saved money for it.
Where is your Gamers Nexus Mod Mat? You know you need one to be an official UA-cam tech channel.
Thats notthing. My 3x GTX 580 with i7 980x with max oc did 1259 watt
I think we can build a 2018 PC in that voodoo case and that would be awesome pls like if u agree😍😍😍
Riaz
Is that a Firerose keyboard I see??? (Happy July 4th)
Karen King life is not about sex. Please don't post this junk on a random video about tech. We all enjoy gaming PCs and cool technology so please either join in for the fun or go somewhere else. Jonathan Robinson xD truth my dude. Hope this person will find a better thing to do with their time .
XD I like your PFP btw!
Guys, it’s just a bot. Not a real person.
Just having a little fun with it, that's all.
Mic quality ??!?!!?
Whats up with your mic fambalam
That Hair ... 🦁
Wow! TWO usb 2.0 ports!!!!!
haha would you believe i was using somthing similar as my daily about 2 months ago for 2 years or so, a "DELL" XPS 720 H2C,
BTX board
1000W PSU
core2extreme qx6850,
8gb DDR2
sappfire R9 270x 4gb
G/bit wired LAN
The worst part is that this CPU is a massive bottleneck with these GPU's.
A 560Ti is already too much for Core 2 Q9650
Lol man, nice to see you in Donut Video comments btw
Oh, I got the sneaky peeky because I can kill peeps in PUBG.
EIGHTY fuckin' pounds?! what the hell makes it so heavy?
That's a lotta juice
Timmy Joe I’m ashamed I watch this show when my main pc is a Alienware alpha r1 this pc probably beats mine! Great channel though!
bahahaahahaha best show ever!
590 was 2007? Wow..
No, march 2011.
"sarcasm"
Computer Grumps
it's way better than my pc ...
My i53330 scored 300 and something on cinebench. This cpu runs faster than mine. Shit
🙂 its because this particular cpu can be overclocked with that motherboard, normally an oem version would be closer to an i3 2nd gen at best 🕹
A friend of mine has the i5 4440 and he gets around 440 in cinebench r15
Basomga so does my ancient q6600. Sorry mate.
MrSammy I supposed so. But still. It's surprisingly good for what it is
"a awesome computer"
The 1 590 couldn't even power Tomb Raider. The CPU isn't the bottleneck, because I played it on the same CPU with a 970, lol
570W from the wall? H0L!! $*1%!!
Wow...
So cool
460 isnt horrible, my i5 3470 (BCLK 105, 4ghz on all cores) gets 530-550.
voodoooo
Voodoo weren’t bought by HP, it was just their brand. Voodoo was bought by nVidia.
Timmy Joe PC Tech : this PC didn't shut off because Firestrike is suddenly so demanding, come on stop redirecting away from the truth....this crappy nuclear power hungry PC shut off only because you have an Intel Core2Quad x9650 a 4c/4t 130 Watt TDP cpu OCd to 4,0 GHz where it eats around 300 Watts as a cpu die alone and VRM-s are probably almost completely unstable. And two GTX 590s, each a 365 Watt TDP gpu so together are also demanding a second nuclear power plant capable of 730 Watt at least when stressed but in reality BugVidia gpu-s eat around 25-30% more than they have stated TDP....and that's why you get 850-1000 Watts of power consumption that the PSU isn't able to hold anymore because it's too weak.
300 Watts (cpu) + 730 Watts (gpu) + 65 Watts (mobo) + other small crap = 1065 Watts already, but can count in around additional 100 watts for both gpu-s at least if they are stressed.
Sounds legit.
I can say I still have a q9650 on an Asus p5k3 deluxe WiFi ap mobo over clocked to 4ghz and it is extremely stable
LFly R and he measured wattage from the wall.... PSUs are never 100% efficient... 800+ watts draw from the wall is insane
DrShabba : I know, it showed from 854 Watts - 1000 + Watts....even if this rig used ony 800-900 Watts it's still nuclearly insane.
sort the audio
