Which Indian family did you pay for this documentary? It doesn't represent even 1% of the population. Common people are cramped up their 1 room, 2room apartments, lost jobs, struggling to make ends meet. Rest of the documentary was very good. But trust me, the picture of India presented by this documentary couldn't be more far from reality

the new normal for indian family was really like how it has been shown they seem like from high class of society and not from middle class. it was lot worse if you'd see average middle class
Just let your kids be independent and manage their own hbl during school time, they are responsible for their own learning at school and so should they be at home. Just guide them on the basics like how to operate the online platform and all. But they should manage classes on their own.

Exactly. And all the memories of being held and carried at a young age will stay on with them to give them security and assurance and confidence when they grow bigger. Imagine stripping away all that from them at such a young age, the sense of rejection will stick on in their young hearts, by the time they grow bigger, they will no longer seek for hugs and affection from their parents anymore but rather seek from elsewhere and it'll be too late to regret that. I feel that in the part where the China father said let's not squabble over small things, I feel that he should apply that to himself. In a time where daily norm is made different with covid, you're still hung up about your in laws carrying your kids more than the frequency you desire/believe to be good, is just ridiculous. Focus on the energy to cherish the time together to form many more happy memories.
@Brielle dont ask to change I agree. Independence will come with confidence, but not at such a tender age where hugs and affection pens into child's memory to build the child's security and confidence.

His kid has just started walking not too long back, they just reached their first milestone of independence as they explore their surroundings with their own little feet. Child psychology tells u that the child will return to their pivot, usually a parent, after exploring on their own for a while, usually they turn back to see that their parent is still nearby after exploring/playing on their own for a while. When the child sees their parent is still nearby, it builds their assurance and confidence to return back to venture more. When they meet an obstacle like a fall or hurt themself, their understanding of the world will need reaffirmation and comfort from their trusted parent, at this moment, a little carry to help the child up will build their confidence to venture out again. What we want to avoid is overtly coddling and carrying whenever there is a fall even at a toddler age. Clearly, this is not the case now for this dad's child and the need to cut off all help to the child is absolutely inappropriate and detrimental to their development. On the other hand, if the parent stands back completely and offers only cold words like 'get up by yourself', when a child just got to learn walking, the child will be programmed at a young age to be lacking of security and confidence. When the child grows up, he/she will do things without conviction but instead harbour lots of self doubt.
Agreed. The kids just turned 1. Like what kind of independence is he trying to see in his 1 yr old children? They’re on a lockdown and he’s making such a big fuss on his in laws carrying his 1 yr old children? Yet he has the audacity to say not to make a fuss on little things cos they’re in this together. I would be more concerned if my kids are crying and my in laws ignore them. He should be thankful that during that difficult time, his in-laws were there to fill the void.
OMG I can't keep up with the subtitles. Some of them flash by so fast you have to keep rewinding. So frustrating as I'm really trying to enjoy this. Only watched half but will try to watch the rest later.
