As a pure common gobbo player, trying to be competitive, there are few common gobbos tricks to talk about : Gobbo warboss and boss can have a chariot and make them a really nice chaff unit, same for wolf. Gobbo on foot can be skirmisher and for 40 points you can have a really annoying unit with bows. Gobbo shaman on chariot is also a nice choice, because he can shoot 360 degrees and put his nose away from ennemy units to not charge anything bad.
It’s important to underscore that the different Orc Boss flavors reverse in viability when you play Nomadic Waaagh. Black Orc Bosses lose Quell Impetuousity and still force a unit tax in the form of the debatably-useful Black Orc Chariot. They’re still more compelling as a combat character, though, so it’s worth considering sticking one on a wyvern. Plain Orc bosses, meanwhile, unlock Boar Boyz as a core option-which has to be one of the best core selections in the whole game when upgraded to Big Uns. It’s a nice points-efficient general option that works great in a cavalry bus list.
@chewieknievel8439 In a world of characters on dragons, screaming undead, homicidal nobs on flying horses, 90 poison arrow goblins is NOT unreasonable. I say let everyone have absolutely filthy options or let noone have the.
@@briarsandbantams That is your opinion and I respect it. I just like players, like myself, who know the filth but also don’t bring it. Moderate some and have more narrative games and have a drink. Orcs, orcs, orcs! Great stuff - few thoughts. I think as you play more with them you’ll learn to love mob rule - +5 casting is a hell of a drug - and the charge reroll on warband - big deal for units that want to charge like boars and makes it harder for people to bait impetuous units into failing a charge. The big spider and the pump wagon are great for friendly games. Tone down your list in a fun way. And you can take a troll hag in a regular orc and goblin army. :)
Some interesting takes here, but I think you might have missed a couple of things that other comments haven't mentioned yet: - Every wizard in a Troll Horde can take Troll Magic. It's one of the perks of the sub-list. Don't get me wrong the Hag's still brilliant, but a much smaller/cheaper/easier to hide shaman can also be running around helping out with Stupidity rerolls from the lore. - I'm like... 85% sure that Black Orc chariots can be taken as a character mount outside of a Nomadic Waaaagh. The unit entry just says it gets added as a possible mount for the right sort of character without explicitly saying it's only for Nomads. Compare that to the Chosen Chariot for Chaos which *does* explicitly say it's only for the Heralds of Darkness army of renown. I think that makes it an interesting alternative to a Wyvern, being less mobile by a bit tougher and a bit harder hitting.
Thank you for a great video. As a beginner who is trying to choose my first army, I would like to ask something. Orcs and goblins seem to have good things for an extreamly good point cost. To me it seems like they should dominate. But from what I hear here on youtube they are not exactly doing that very good in tournaments. Is this because orcs and goblins have a big flaw that I have not seen, of that many orcs and goblin players play more of what they think is fun or cool, then picking the most cutting edge list?
Hello, i noticed a recurring error going through Your videos (another instance would be Slayer video) - its regarding the Motley Crew special rule. Page 174 says that in motley crew combat casualties are removed from the front rank (back ranks stepping up) - so units like Squig herds and Slayers aren't as good as one might think - when the enemy charges, front squigs are removed - not the goblins. Same goes for Giant slayers
The Golblin Shamen is only 5 points less than the Orc. Also, I disagree that the Black Orc Warboss is better than the Orc Warboss. You have to pay a unit tax for it, in the form of a unit of Black orcs, which are expensive and get kicked about easily by faster moving units. You'd be better taking the Orc on a Wyven, tool him up defensively, and use him as a warmachine hunter. A unit of skirmishes Orc Archers are a good unit to have kicking about defending your back line, especially if they're frenzied. Around 8 is good, pretty cheap and can clobber smaller chaff units easily.
The Bone Ripper Giant a Forge World model for orcs and goblins from before AOS was a thing.

You can take a Troll hag as a rare choice in a Grand army as well =)
16:54 Big Uns only confers +1 strength not 2, which is still great
Sadly squig hoppers while skirmishers aren't harder to hit because they are unit str 2. That said I've been running 21 of late. They're super fun.

Regular goblins and orc boys can take the poison banner too for poison shooting
@@TheBossGrand I think you meant to say Night Goblins. 🌙 Just be reasonable and don’t bring a 90 goblin mob.

@@TheBossGrand they can, but are less suited for the role.
Fanatics and the lack of impetuous makes them a superior choice

This man is the great champion of Troll-kind!
Wargames Atlantic really needs to make a 40k orc boyz alternative
Perhaps big blocks of Black Orcs could replace the blocks of state troops that weren’t working out. For you to get your infantry hammer fix.
Giant spider is rough because of the hawdah rule. Enemies hit back on the goblin WS I believe
Just fyi, it's a rocklobber with poison. So it's pretty brutal.
You can take troll hags in the grand army as well
it sounds like the boar boyzs have a high initial buy in, but the pound for pound additions of thier upgrades are really cheap.

Be fighting orcs and gobos alot, loving OW, arise TombKings arise!🤙👍🦑🦑🦑🦑
Glad this came out. I am currently biulding my orcs and gobos
Orc Boyz with shields, (free!) bows and a Spider Banner?

are you sure you can only use troll hag in troll horde?
