While not tournament acceptable, supposedly there have been instances of ork players on a budget using *Tonka Trucks* with Leman Russ pieces and such fixed to them. It's a little ridiculous, but it's also hilarious and perfectly in mind for an ork.
I'm an aspiring Imperial Guard Player... but Kommandos came with my Kreigers in the Kill Team box set and now I have plans to at least make an Ork combat patrol to go with my Ork Kill Team and Ork Terrain.
I have seen people make ork vehicles out of extra bits of sprue, and play them as "Official Customs" lol ork players just love a good scrap, just like their factions units lol.
Kinda another sub faction, but a little surprised they didn't get a mention, the Storm Boys. Sure the blood axes will use sneaky tactics they saw, but these weirdos do crazy, rebellious things, like cleaning up after themselves, marching in sync, polishing their wargear and using squad tactics. The only reason the common Ork tolerates them is because their rocket packs tend to explode in an entertaining fashion.
When you think about it, Ghazghkull is like Ork Jesus, leading his species to Heaven (the Warp). The Emperor will definitely be reinforced by a very unlikely ally to fight against Chaos.
I'd love to see you do another video on some of the most bonkers weapons in the setting. There's just so many of them and the formats really enjoyable to watch.
@@RocRolDis And it has apparently resulted in guardsmen having psycho grots rip out of them like chestbursters or going slasher villain on tank crews.
I love the Evil Sunz, because they're the most METAL of all the Ork Clans. I could make an entire playlist of rock and metal songs that suit them and the Speed Freekz! White Zombie - Black Sunshine Accept - Fast as a Shark Dragonforce - Through the Fire and the Flames Metallica - Seek and Destroy Deep Purple - Highway Star Judas Priest - Hell Patrol Cake - The Distance Devin Townsend - Juular Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face Dethklok - Hatredcopter Overkill - Come and Get It Motorhead - Ace of Spades Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost in the Fog Iron Maiden - The Trooper The list goes on!
Hatredcopter definitely would be on the Evil Suns' playlist. Hits so hard it makes you want to go even faster and gets you in the perfect mood to crash your truck into the nearest marine.
It’s actually the Goffs who are the most METAL of the Ork Clans: in the early days of *40k* they had a special unit called ‘Goff Rockas’ that were just Ork musicians.
I help out at a gaming store and anytime a person is interested in lore before buying models, I send them to your videos. I got sucked into the game because of the videos and listening to you while building the store website. Keep it up! Orkz is da Best!
Having orks in 40k used to really bother me for some reason. It just seemed weird and out of place, but after learning more about their lore and all that they grew on me.
We truly appreciate the time, effort and knowledge that has gone into your videos Wes. You have single handedly got me back into Warhammer. I used to collect and paint with my dad around 20 years ago, I think I may begin to do it again
Orks are the best faction in the sense that they actually seem to have a good time unlike most of the other races. They're also fun and comedic, so they're easy to love. They also traditionally haven't been the top of the meta, which I think has resulted in a lot of their players just being people who love the faction and the fun of the game, ork players generally have a pretty good reputation online compared to a lot of other parts of the hobby, and I think that also helps people love for the faction as well. From a hobby perspective, their culture of looting also leads to some players making some pretty rad kitbashes. I realize that I'm generalizing here, but I think the love for the orks has multiple causes and I think it is well earned, both in lore, and from the fanbase. Shoutout to all the ork enthusiasts I've encountered over the years, you guys make the hobby a better place.
I've always loved the deathskulls myself. Used to have great fun during third and fourth edition taking imperial vehicles and hacking them up to turn into looted tanks battlewagons and wartrakk/warbuggy proxies.
I love the Imperium and the lore that comes with it. That said, even though I play Ultramarines, the orkz definitely make me smile. Especially when their player gets into it.
Every time I think about the Evil Sunz and the Kult of Speed, I think of the song “Ram It Down” or “Rock Hard, Ride Free” by Judas Priest. Now that Goff Rokkerz are canon again: ‘Eavy Metal’z back on da menyu, BOYZ!
Always have been, and always will be one of the Blood Axes. Makes me wish more Kommandoz models would come out, don't wanna stack just kill team bits for my army I'm working on.
One of the reasons I love your videos, so much is that you don’t ever use racial slurs or just be inherently a jerk for no reason you’re just a fun guy talking about Warhammer we all respect you for that
Always love hearing more about Orks. They are what got me into 40K and I have a massive love for Goffs and for Freebootaz. I think what makes the Orks so damn good in this universe is a mixture of being funny and scary at the same time as well as their rather big amount (at least comparatively to the amount available) of good interesting stories. I mean hell, Wes himself mentioned Kaptain Bloodflag who has the most entertaining dialogue in that campaign. Also, I'm sure most of the comment section know of Tuska Daemonkilla and have enjoyed his story.
goffs have the best aesthetic, deathskulls i like for their looting mentality and the savage pureism of the snakebites are also nice (fits very nice with the beast snaggaz), but honestly i like all things green!
Gork and Mork made dis Wes lad propa’. Great timing since I’m just starting to appreciate orks a whole lot more. Sad they lost the ork vs tyranids war but ‘nids needed the lore buff and orks been around since the beginning. ✊🏾
Suddenly a crusade force of Imperial Fists, Black Templars, Flesh Tearers, Charcharadons and Custodes appear supported by Imperial Navy + Imperial Guard. Wait a minute if you're an Ork i just gave you heaven...
another fact about the blood axes is that they are the best at making waaaaghs because theyre the smartest, and they might have been krork leaders back then which is sad now since they get so much hate (tho they say they “dont really care”)
Back when I first started playing in the early 90s I played a few other factions. Both the space wolves and imperial guard have a special place in my heart but the orks are my favorite 40k faction. I love these guys so much. It’s hard for me to pic a favorite clan. They all have such great character to them!
I love you man thanks so much. I have 3 kids and no time to myself. No way I put down a book series like this. Keep it up. Thanks again for your hard work

Being new to Warhammer 40k, my wife and I have been watching a lot of Wesshammer and Majorkill to catch up on the lore. That being said we each have our own favorite space marine chapters and heroic/dark characters but we both get the most joy out of the stupidly absurd factions and Orks are the kings of absurdity! Sometimes when he hear or see something really stupid about the Orks my wife gets angry with how dumb it is but she still manages to laugh! Orks iz da best armiz!!
i have never played warhammer in my life. i am but a humble 3.5 edition D&D player. but this version of Orcs HIGHLY fascinates me. as a barbarian lover, i love the idea of just violent crazy muscle heads crushing and killing everything in sight. and to top it off, they all talk like cockney brits, which adds to the charm of them. so to close my statement: "WAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!! WHO'S READY TAH KRUMP SOMETHIN?!"
I always loved the clunkiness of Orlando tech! You see Tau or Eldar vehicles looking sleek and stylish, then here comes the Orks with road warrior style flying death traps. How does it work? Don’t ask stupid questions!
I love the Orcs and the biggest reason has to be, even when they are surrounded and outnumbered, they are still stuck in a fight and living the best life any Orc could wish for mindset of theirs
I haven't even picked my favorite faction, yet there are so many crazy and wildly fun clans to pick from. Edit: what I meant to say was my favorite klan. I already know my favorite faction is the orks and greenskins in general. 😅💚
Theirs a faction not as prominent as the main ones because it’s Ork Counter Culture so it’s only for the rebellious Orks fighting against the system. If Snake Bitez are Boomers, The Storm Boyz are the Zoomers. They fight against the unstructured anarchy of Ork Culture by being structured, trained and disciplined. Other Orks find this offensive and stupid. The run constant drills, wear uniforms, shine their boots and have disciplined chain of command. Fight back against a system that has no rules by making rules! They also wear rocket packs to fly over the other Orks to reach the front lines faster which is even more offensive because they’re cutting in front of the crowd and fly over a bunch of fights, they should fight on the ground and charge into fight like a real Ork! The only upside is sometimes Stormboyz lose control of their Rocket Packs and explode which makes for a good laugh for other Orks.
@Broomer52 I am a huge fan of greenskins. This info isn't new to me, but I just need to define which of them holds my favorite play style when it comes to orks.
Dem purple Orkz iz hard ta spot 🧐 Great vid Wes! Informative and fun. Any chance we get a deep dive video on the Imperial Inquisition soon? I loved the Adeptus Mechanus one you did so much that I've been waiting with anticipation for an Inquisition follow up 😢
Tolkien made up orcs, but I find orc apex to be at the 40k and these sentient, violent mushrooms which they are when you really think about them. "Waagh" could said to be just a collective mushroom sentience shared by the shroom orcs of 40k.. What's not to love?
3:01 I'm sure this is WesHammer doing the dialogue for the Ork, but GOT DAMN that was so cool to hear you do it! Probably the best I've heard you do, but then again I'm new to your content
@@weshammer I wouldn't even know where to begin to talk the broken English that the Orks use. The voice module just makes it even more convincing it's actually them talking. Awesome stuff
Your of the few toobers that I like the video before I watch a second! And your personality just had me at the beginning, but now I'm addicted to hearing the lore from all kind of sources.... thanks a lot Wes!!😵 (😋) lol
Orks are grimdark asf tho, imagine being a guardsman who can’t be even breath from the amount of lead being pumped into the air, your buddies try to pop up to get shots off and are immediately torn to shreds. Everything is clouded in a black cloud from crudely made engines, and if you’re unfortunate enough to be in the frontlines an 8ft mass of green muscle and incoherent violence tears you to shreds with a power klaw.
I love the orks, because I can play them without feeling a twinge of dismay at every casualty. Lots of other forces, I feel a ridiculous touch of sadness as yet another hero of the Imperium dies. With orks, I can laugh while I lose, because the boyz were no doubt having a great time.
Warhammer 40k Freeblade introduced me to 40k. This chaos, Da Bad MOONZ Ork klan. And the Dark Angels chapter. Thus the bad MOONZ and dark angels became my favorite parts of the Imperium and Orks.
I'm kinda new to the lore, but seeing the different clans lined up like that makes me think of a literal perfect war machine blueprint, spiritual, economy, scouting dpt that absorbs tactics, a strong infantry variant, a vehicled corps, and stealers for xeno scrap. Makes me wonder what will happen when the Krork gene clicks back in
i got back into 40k a few months ago and i went with a Death Skulls Ork army cause i love the idea of all dat loot ta krump (and its fun painting their stuff with weird blue patterns)
My favorite Ork faction is the Stormboyz just for the Lore that they’re basically rebellious kids who rebel from their anarchist culture by being structured, clean, rule following Boys. They run drills, keep their shoes shined and act like proper soldiers which other Orks find offensive just because they’re so structured and un Orky
I love the story of how the hive fleet leviathan got thrown into a sector believed to be all but impossible to remove the orks from and both side kept growing in size and power from fighting and boned the emporium beyond belief 🤣🤣🤣
For me the best part about orks is their morale system. "A terrible thing has happened killing bunches of orks, which all the other orks found hilarious"
Congratulations on 600k mate you're flying up there. Majorkill will be jealous 😂. Love the work you do. You come across as a humble and genuine person. Wish you the best ❤ 😉
That is not coincidence that 2 days ago i’ve got my first army for WH40k and they are Orcs and then Wes makes video about green boys :D The Emperor i watching over me ❤
From time to time while playing I've learned what my opponent army is and give "uuugh" but with ork i always get a smile. Good or bad orks are still fun to play against.
I think the Orks do their job exceedingly well in the context of the Warhammer universe as a whole, comic relief is important in almost every story and these guys are cram jam full of it lol

I have seen people make ork vehicles out of extra bits of sprue, and play them as "Official Customs" lol ork players just love a good scrap, just like their factions units lol.
imagine the orks combining all the colours of paint. They would actually be unstoppable.

That's actually a really good way to look at things from a popularity perspective. They're not the most popular but literally no one dislikes them.
The fact that the orks just continuously talk smack about every faction they fight in the most over the top way never ceases to amuse me 😂
When you think about it, Ghazghkull is like Ork Jesus, leading his species to Heaven (the Warp).
The Emperor will definitely be reinforced by a very unlikely ally to fight against Chaos.
Thanks for getting me into warhammer, your the reason why I collected an army!
Brothers, to partake in our crusades is to be immortal
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!
For the greater good
What army did you get into?
@@Wizley15 custodies
I'd love to see you do another video on some of the most bonkers weapons in the setting. There's just so many of them and the formats really enjoyable to watch.
Shokk Attack Gun. It sucks up a grot or snotling and fires them through the warp so they hit the target frothing mad.
@@RocRolDis
And it has apparently resulted in guardsmen having psycho grots rip out of them like chestbursters or going slasher villain on tank crews.
ORKS ORKS ORKS ORKS ORKS!
Paradoxically, Goffs and bloodaxes are my two faves.
The 1080p 60fps encoding looks great btw, props!
I love the Evil Sunz, because they're the most METAL of all the Ork Clans. I could make an entire playlist of rock and metal songs that suit them and the Speed Freekz!
White Zombie - Black Sunshine
Accept - Fast as a Shark
Dragonforce - Through the Fire and the Flames
Metallica - Seek and Destroy
Deep Purple - Highway Star
Judas Priest - Hell Patrol
Cake - The Distance
Devin Townsend - Juular
Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face
Dethklok - Hatredcopter
Overkill - Come and Get It
Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost in the Fog
Iron Maiden - The Trooper
The list goes on!
Hatredcopter definitely would be on the Evil Suns' playlist. Hits so hard it makes you want to go even faster and gets you in the perfect mood to crash your truck into the nearest marine.
Oi oi,Have you forgotten Free bird and Kickstart my heart?
Also might wanna add in 'Demon Fire' by AC/DC
Eurobeat makes you go fasta. Just make sure the speakers are red so the music reaches you fasta as well.
Now that Goff Rokkerz are canon again:
‘Eavy Metal’z back on da menyu, BOYZ!
This is the one of the best UA-cam video channels to listen to while walking my dogs! Thanks for making the morning walk even better!

Always have been, and always will be one of the Blood Axes. Makes me wish more Kommandoz models would come out, don't wanna stack just kill team bits for my army I'm working on.
I got the forge world gas masks and backpacks. Great for mixing up your squads
When Will Weshammer talk about the different Necron Dynasties?
Gork and Mork made dis Wes lad propa’. Great timing since I’m just starting to appreciate orks a whole lot more. Sad they lost the ork vs tyranids war but ‘nids needed the lore buff and orks been around since the beginning. ✊🏾
If I'd ever have to live in the 40k universe, I'd either be a water caste Tau 👽🔫, or be an ork 🗡️🐸🛡️
Suddenly a crusade force of Imperial Fists, Black Templars, Flesh Tearers, Charcharadons and Custodes appear supported by Imperial Navy + Imperial Guard.
Wait a minute if you're an Ork i just gave you heaven...

Oi, you finally did us Boyz some justice humie!
I needed to find the comment spoken in Ork and show it some love. ❤
another fact about the blood axes is that they are the best at making waaaaghs because theyre the smartest, and they might have been krork leaders back then which is sad now since they get so much hate (tho they say they “dont really care”)
Back when I first started playing in the early 90s I played a few other factions. Both the space wolves and imperial guard have a special place in my heart but the orks are my favorite 40k faction. I love these guys so much.
It’s hard for me to pic a favorite clan. They all have such great character to them!
I support the Orks for the outlandish and wonderful stories that are witten about them, I love the lore of WH40K the gameplay is always rough for me.
Try one page rules with the orc marauders. It’s a hoot.
I love you man thanks so much. I have 3 kids and no time to myself. No way I put down a book series like this. Keep it up. Thanks again for your hard work
There is a fan theory that Boltguns were developed specifically to deal with Orks, who were the largest growing threat to the galaxy after the Age of Strife
Definitely the Deathskullz and Freebootaz for me. Love the Mechs for the Deathskullz and the Pirate theme for the Freebootaz personally :)
*you play orks because you find them relatable. I wanna conquer the galaxy with the force of shrek. We are not the same.*
*you act as if that is not the most relatable statement about playing orks ever spoken*
Started watching your videos about two days ago and I’ve almost caught up with all of them already, love your work Wes!
Love your content, cause of you and majorkill i can start getting sucked into the world of Warhammer 40k.
Sidequestion: Do you show somewhere your model which are in the background, they look really awesome
My old Instagram has a bunch of pictures of some of my work but I haven't updated it in a few years instagram.com/dndtonight/?hl=en
Finished listening to "Prophets of the Waaagh!" A few days ago, and I've become a fan of the evil sunz. Their whole philosophy is just wonderful.
I can just imagine the Free Booters screaming YO HO as they storm a ship only for their victims to say “ what year is it?”
Dem purple Orkz iz hard ta spot 🧐
Great vid Wes!
I have to use a pitch shifter to drop my voice about 10 to 20% lower, but yeah I like doing their voices 😅
@@weshammer I wouldn't even know where to begin to talk the broken English that the Orks use. The voice module just makes it even more convincing it's actually them talking. Awesome stuff
19:12 Why is the screen so empty here? I can't see anything.
Your of the few toobers that I like the video before I watch a second! And your personality just had me at the beginning, but now I'm addicted to hearing the lore from all kind of sources.... thanks a lot Wes!!😵 (😋) lol
I think they could use a grimdark update similar to the Eldar. Both factions need more love from GW
I don’t know what you’re talking about. Orks get consistent love from GW
Bros video quality is FYEEEE
I love the orks, because I can play them without feeling a twinge of dismay at every casualty. Lots of other forces, I feel a ridiculous touch of sadness as yet another hero of the Imperium dies. With orks, I can laugh while I lose, because the boyz were no doubt having a great time.
Great videos as always Wes!
I really enjoy these explanation videos since I havent read any 40K books, but still love the lore, keep them coming!
Warhammer 40k Freeblade introduced me to 40k. This chaos, Da Bad MOONZ Ork klan. And the Dark Angels chapter. Thus the bad MOONZ and dark angels became my favorite parts of the Imperium and Orks.
This video just helped me get through a long and grueling English project thank you Wes, I appreciate you
Since I play Kommandoz in Kill Team, I like the Bloody Axes way of Krumpin.
We love you Wes, keep it up brotha.
The orcs are the most joyfully written faction imo. They’re having fun good for them.
I'm kinda new to the lore, but seeing the different clans lined up like that makes me think of a literal perfect war machine blueprint, spiritual, economy, scouting dpt that absorbs tactics, a strong infantry variant, a vehicled corps, and stealers for xeno scrap. Makes me wonder what will happen when the Krork gene clicks back in
Fun fact the snakebite clans were originally created to allow you to use Warhammer fantasy orcs in your 40K army
Thank you Sir Wes for the great work and time ya spent putting this together .
so the blood axes believe camo paint makes things sneaky- does that actually make the things a little bit harder to notice?
Where everything is so dark and grim, where light fades away faster than anything else, the orks are a good distraction most of the times.
Great video! You know what would be a video I’d love to see from you? One where you lost your favorite Warhammer novels, maybe categorized by faction
I really wanna start a freebootas army lead by a Cap’n Squig Beard, a boss that fell into a pit of hair squigs that all latched onto his face
i got back into 40k a few months ago and i went with a Death Skulls Ork army cause i love the idea of all dat loot ta krump (and its fun painting their stuff with weird blue patterns)
Perfect, a new Weshammer video to listen while painting my minis👌
I think I'm in love with the blood axes, their literally ork commandos...
ORK COMMANDOS
Congratulations on 600k mate you're flying up there. Majorkill will be jealous 😂. Love the work you do. You come across as a humble and genuine person. Wish you the best ❤ 😉
That is not coincidence that 2 days ago i’ve got my first army for WH40k and they are Orcs and then Wes makes video about green boys :D The Emperor i watching over me ❤
I am also about to start an orc army! Every new addition I change factions and I think for 10th it's going to be orks :)
I recently got a kitbash idea for Fallout Super Mutant Orks, so this is good to learn.
👍👍 love these guys for flavor and kitbash potential 😊
space marine see this video: I SMELLHERESY! ( Lude the gun with bad intension)
I want a darktide game where you play as orcs
I already loved the Orks, but hearing about the Free Booters made me love them 10x as much.
i love the idea of a blood axe invasion where the bright rainbow camouflage actually works anyway just because they think it does.
As I am starting to collect Orks again, I LOVE these videos!
Your Orc voice acting gives me life ❤
