T-14 cannot be 3rd best tank in the world, because still nobody has any idea what is that. There are only a dozen of prototypes, that does not mean it exists.
I think that in order to be called a top tank, it should meet a few essential criteria. It should be in general production or have at least 500 units in active service. It should have seen combat and performed well against enemy armor. It should have a high availability rate (i.e.: not broken down, and able to go into combat). If it is so complicated that it can't withstand the rigors of training or combat,. If it can't, then what good is it? The T-14 Armada shouldn't be on this list because even though it was revealed in 2015, how come there are less than 100 in existence? Many of these tanks like the KF-51 is still in development but the Leopard 7 should be included. If you titled this video "Next generation tanks coming on line," then all can be included. So let's keep this limited to the tanks actually in production and on the battle field right now.
@@fk4410 Yes that's the issue. No matter how great the tank, if you don't have them in sufficient numbers, their effect is minimal. The T-14 Armada is a prefect example, there are only about 100 made even though it was introduced back in 2015.
@@stevensrhester8594 there are even only 20 made I think of the t14 so this should definitely be off the list but 50 could be a good number since you can build quite a good force, not a whole army though
@@fk4410 500 seems arbitrarily high, but actual battlefield experience would be a major plus. Absent that, enough numbers to actually have been tested. The Challenger has combat experience, and designs were modified as a result. Until the thing gets shot at, you never know what the weaknesses are.

Well, the thing which surprised me the most in this video is the fact she doesn't say a word on the huge advantage the Leclerc XL has on his counterparts. He's the only tank which can shoot at full speed, on every type of terrain with 98% accuracy meanwhile all the others must slow down near halfspeed and only have 50%. It's not the best tank but shouldn't be 7th on this list.
You forgot Swedish strv 122 with some other upgrades, otherwise it is similar to Leopard. It is supposed to be first or second on that list, otherwise they probably fit quite well

The best tanks up to 2023 are unqestionably the Merkova the Abrams and the Challenger based on numbers usage operational losses to the enemy and service records. The article seeks to examine the best tanks going forward. Likely these will be the Armata 14 when debugged and produced in significant numbers the Abrams in some varient the Leopard in some varient and the South Korean K2 of which Poland just ordered 700. Right now the Chinese Thpe 99 is an unknown quantity. All of the tanks listed are good all have advantages and disadvantages in certain operating conditions and all depend on the training and ability of their crews.
What I've heard from anyone who has served in, or worked on Abrams tanks, it sounds like they are piles of crap. Reading war stories, they were missing half of the equipment and hardware that they were supposed to have, and the other half wasnt hooked up or working. They guzzle gas like no other, and don't like sand and heat. Historically, the US isn't exactly renowned for making quality tanks. They just make a LOT of them.
T14 Armata has a poorly armored turret, such a tank is easy to eliminate on the battlefield. Plus a weak engine and not proven in battle autoloader. In theory and in parades it is beautifully, worse in combat.

Leclerc is a Rolls Royce, Leopard is a 4x4. You don't to war with a Rolls Royce, that's why Leopards are the most common and the ones Ukraine is asking for. Even if the Leclerc is better in every aspect.

Most of the armour engaged has been the breakaway provinces vehicles. We shall know when the dam breaks if the MSM tell us..remember they have been pushing a false narrative.
Putting T-14 Armata high on this list destroys its credibility. The T-14 has not shown up for battle in the Russo-Ukraine War. Too many questions about production quality and maintenance to be included.
Yeah, your complaint has all the sense, because you point to the T14 but you said nothing about a mockup tank likes the Panther, that don't have any operational prototype running in anywhere.
the KF51, on 1st place? Its an overhyped Tank, many experts critiseized it. A 2 man turret? And why did the team, rank the Leopard 2 A7+ so low, it is the most advanced Tank in the world, and no one can decline this fact!
What a ridiculous list. KF-51 still under development. Armata at no 3, even though it enormous issues in commissioning and hasn't even gone into proper production. Other MBTs ahead of Challenger 2 that have never ever been proven in battle. What's the point?
The T-14 managed to break down in a parade, has (i beleave night vision) optics avalable on the civillian market, uses a modified engine from the famously unreliable tiger tank, wrighs (i think) 20 tons less then the challenger and is SLOWER, can barley defend itself agenst 90s missiles, basically the t-14 would of been a good tank if it was made in 1990, plus its touch screen has to be clawed at like a desperate person, i reccomend lazerpig's video on the t-14 to get more detail on why the t-14 accutaly sucks.
... I believe* / weighs* 20 tons less than* / defend itself against* missiles / T-14 would have* (!) been - "would of" makes no sense and it's stupid to put it in writing! / I recommend* / why the T-14 actually* sucks
Tiger 1 wasnt as unreliable as repeated these days. It just got that reputation because revisionists didnt like the reputation it had from the veterans who fought it. According to readiness numbers for 1943 the panzer 4 had an average of 61%, the tiger 55 and the panther 54%. Thats pretty good for a tank so famous for breaking down before it reaches the battlefield.
If it's still "under development" it is not operational in a real world situation yet. Should not be on the list when it's not been cleared for operational production.
In real. The best tank is a cheap, massive, relatively light and simple tank, with the possibility of field repairs and movement on civilian bridges and roads. It is wrong to call the best tanks, which were built less than 3 dozen units, which require their own infrastructure, and high-tech sites and engineers with higher education are needed for maintenance.
By that logic the T-34 should be the best tank of ww2 yet it was incredibly cramped, hard to use(crew were practically blind) and the USSR lost nearly 90% of 50000+ made during the war. It was hard to survive too compared to US or german tanks since it sacrifised escape hatches for sloped armor which didnt even do its job properly contrary to what tank documentaries would have you believe. It broke down more often than the tiger too yet you never hear about it.
@@dimushka383 I did. Stalin himself issued this order: ‘Our armored forces and their units frequently suffer greater losses through mechanical breakdowns than they do in battle. For example, at Stalingrad Front in six days twelve of our tank brigades lost 326 out of their 400 tanks. Of those about 260 owed to mechanical problems. Many of the tanks were abandoned on the battlefield. Similar instances can be observed on other fronts. Since such a high incidence of mechanical defects is implausible, the Supreme Headquarters sees in it covert sabotage and wrecking by certain elements in the tank crews who try to exploit small mechanical troubles to avoid battle. Henceforth, every tank leaving the battlefield for alleged mechanical reasons was to be gone over by technicians, and if sabotage was suspected, the crews were to be put into tank punishment companies or "degraded to the infantry" and put into infantry punishment companies.'

Only because the military leadership of so many countries are out of touch old men. The war in Ukraine proves they are absolutely obsolete like Battleships. A better approach would be to replace them with ground drones, as well as AI controlled vehicles
T-14 cannot be 3rd best tank in the world, because still nobody has any idea what is that. There are only a dozen of prototypes, that does not mean it exists.
Panthers and T-14??? At this point we may as well add baneblades and mammoth tanks to the list.
No, kanzali
Leeman Russ comes in 11th place. Though I have no doubt, that the Panther will easily make top of the list, once it gets into production.
Turns out after NATO competition that Challenger mkII is the best.always being underated has its uses.
It's actually second place behind the abrams in running away from battle
Its best in the competition due to its crew. In ukraine they complain that its underpowered, slow and heavy and gets stuck in the ground alot.
Bro 500 in service would mean leclerc and challenger are not qualified france and GB both only have 200 in service.
@@fk4410 Yes that's the issue. No matter how great the tank, if you don't have them in sufficient numbers, their effect is minimal. The T-14 Armada is a prefect example, there are only about 100 made even though it was introduced back in 2015.
My thoughts exactly.
Challenger 2. Abrams m1A2 Leopard 2a6. In any order. Beat all others on list.
Yes. Except for the Leopard 2A7V which is already in service.
Ambrams shits on both
Ukraine complains about the ch2 being underpowered, too heavy and slow and tends to get stuck in the ground. A competition proves nothing.
Newest Abrams is A2 SEPV4! Remember, it's for 2023 and the EMBT is also a concept tank that could be included!
And at number 10, the kyu maru, capable of shooting down Godzilla

@@soulsreaper7145 Nah... Leopards have always outclassed the Abrams in a great many combined exercises. I now see the Abrams and the Leopard 2 as equals. Both follow an extremely similar doctrine. He's the only tank which can shoot at full speed, on every type of terrain with 98% accuracy meanwhile all the others must slow down near halfspeed and only have 50%.
It's not the best tank but shouldn't be 7th on this list.
Abrams can shoot accurately on the move as well, it's got smart stabilization.
Absolute nonsense! C2 can fire and hit at full speed beating all other mbt's in iron spear 2023 and is the best protected of them all!
It would be great a list of the best Medium Main Battle Tanks in the world.
You forgot Swedish strv 122 with some other upgrades, otherwise it is similar to Leopard. It is supposed to be first or second on that list, otherwise they probably fit quite well
This is just an export-variant Leopard 2 with a few upgrades for Sweden. Export tanks are always worse than real ones. Their upgrades are making them better for country specifics like terrain\climate, but not really improving their main battle aspects.
Besides, this is still are Leopard 2 MBT, even if slightly downgraded. But not really worth this list.
Ha haaa it’s similar!? It’s literally a Leopard 2 export version 😅😅
u are so confused its a exsport version and theres never been a export that's even remotely as good as the original, thats why only domestic made tanks make these lists
The STRV 122 is not the same as an leopard 2. It is specialized with a Swedish armor company. It is considered to be the best tank in the world. It’s not a Leopard 2, it is something else.

If the Type 99 is made in Chiva it will probably barely move.

It is not yet known what K2PL will ultimately be like
The A7B Sturmpanzerwagen is definitely the best tank.

It exists but is not really produced yet.
I’m curious if the US will adopt Abramsx or another tank before long.
In real. The best tank is a cheap, massive, relatively light and simple tank, with the possibility of field repairs and movement on civilian bridges and roads.
It is wrong to call the best tanks, which were built less than 3 dozen units, which require their own infrastructure, and high-tech sites and engineers with higher education are needed for maintenance.
т-80-90
It depends entirely on the characteristics of the conflict: geographical context, technological means of the enemy, availability of spare soldiers, …
@@benjammin3381
Where did you find such fairy tales?
Read serious sources and not political articles by people far from technology.
@@dimushka383 I did. Stalin himself issued this order:
‘Our armored forces and their units frequently suffer greater losses through mechanical breakdowns than they do in battle.
Should any Russian/Soviet tank be on this list? T14 is not a tank, it is a mock up they are incapable of even realistic field testing.
