    Honestly, I love my squids, but until testing standards improve, we’re just going to see disaster after disaster like the Littoral Combat Ship and the Zumwalt.
    Stick with building Arleigh Burkes, but add in the San Antonio class. The Marine Corps needs Army tech for defense when they hit the beaches, so why not make it a bolt-on system for the San Antonio, which already has to carry that gear? Each San Antonio class ship could be equipped with THAAD, NASAMS, or Patriot, with a bolt-on interface connecting the ship to the launchers and arrays. You’re already storing the command units and systems inside the ship. Plus, the USMC has practiced firing HIMARS from ships-just think about the possibilities once PRSM comes online.

    No ship built to operate in the 2030+ generation should ever have any less than double the point defense that they have and at least 5-60 missile VLS. None of them are designed to survive in a modern naval action let alone in the future.

  • @solinvictus1234
    @solinvictus1234 3 місяці тому +5

    The Constellation class is not developed by USA but by Italy, by Fincantieri at US Marinette Marine Harbor. It's a modified Italian FREMM frigate.
    I can ser the Italians here as the smarter of the pack, starting alteady to developing anti-drones defensive systems (a thing they already have, guided 76mm and 127mm ammos and shells). All other ships aren't focused upon the future of wars...drones.

    • @Jeff55369
      @Jeff55369 Місяць тому

      The constellation might as well be it's own ship; it currently only shares 15% of the FREMM design.

    • @solinvictus1234
      @solinvictus1234 Місяць тому

      @@Jeff55369 Yep, US Navy corruption and incompetence did a mess with a well proven design ready to go and with a cost effective revenue.
      The original contract was to adapt US weapons, engines and mast systems to the original hull and it would have been 85% similar to an Italian FREMM.
      But NAVSEA (US Navy) rethinked the project hugely rising the costs and timeline that by the way was so much full of ceitical mistakes made by US navy engineers that Fincantieri was forced to give them back the projects and pointing out what critical mistakes they did asking to re-project them. It is so much a mess that the Congress had to form a task force to control the mess that navsea did.
      The LCS failure wasn't a mistake, sadly it is mere incompetence and corruption.

      @Saffi____ 2 місяці тому +1

      Though I do agree drones will be more common in future conflicts, but the issue with them is that they lack range and fire power. The use in Ukraine is fine as they don't have to travel very far to reach potential targets, small boats are also quite vulnerable to rapid firing weapon systems like CIWS, and flying drones need to be big if they want to carry any anti-air or anti-ship weapons, drones are also quite vulnerable to current defensive systems which will only get better to counter said drones especially if they start mounting systems that will affect control of the drone, similar to what some tanks in Ukraine have.
      At the end of the day, the militaries will need to find a way to combine both aspects of warfare, such as China and Turkey who are already experimenting with combat capable drones on their carriers.

    Man I’d love to see a modern concept of a new class of a USS Battleship. With small scaled Mac canons shooting a slug of metal at a ships hull smashing a massive breach in the side letting water in. Then larger canons meant to end the life of any ships they shoot at. Or propel a large slug that will have enough kinetic force as the MOAB bomb. This ship could carry hundreds of small exploding fish drones that mimic a school of fish swim up to a ships under hull stick to the ship along the underbelly of an aircraft carrier say from china. These can explode on command or stay on board to help track the ships. Then this ship has massive laser canons. Massive missile holds sea-wiz like 20 of them up and down the boat.

    A Destroyer doesn't weigh 12k tons idk and don't care who's claiming that nonsense,it's a Cruiser in reality, funny how these defense companies keep changing the narrative on these ship classes. The French navy need 2 carriers not 1,the French amazes me with their backwards acquisition process, get 2 smaller carriers at 60-65k ton range with the same capability as that 1, or purchase 2 PANG's either case 2 will fit the operational needs of the FN better than 1, in reality the EU need to unify their militaries into one defense force that way purchases like the PANG can be acquired as a capital purchase where at least 6 can be bought, the EU need this capability if they are goingto stay relevant as a governing body. The CVX program should include all ASEAN nations that can afford to participate in and purchase it, also have an export version for those nation's that want a carrier but that's affordable.

      The defination is slowly changing. In the 1980s, "5000 tons" was enough to qualify as a Destroyer and some Frigates were even less than 3000 tons.
      1990s we saw Destroyers crossing the 6000 tons mark, while Frigates were hitting 4000 tons+
      In the latest situation, Frigates are hitting 6500 tons, while the Destroyer unofficial definition has become 7000 tons+.

    KDDX는 한국의 한화에어로스페이스에서 건조합니다.
    현대중공업은 KDDX사업 과정에서 중대범죄를 저질러 탈락하였습니다~

      Thanks for letting me know. I’m sad to see this. I really want to see the KDDX realised. I hate the latest design changes, I hope they change it a little and maybe procure 8 instead of 6.

      Russian ships hit with missiles at 1500 km. Shooting from the pier they destroyed the ARTEM plant in Kyiv. The Ukrainians, having lost their fleet altogether - do they think they brought the weakest and smallest of the Russian fleets to its knees? With drones? Are you serious? Are you even aware that in two years of war the Russians launched in exchange for the insulated museum cruiser - 2 nuclear strategic submarines, 2 Yasen-M nuclear attack submarines with hypersonic Zircon, 2 frigates (also with Zircon, one recently sailed to Cuba), a bunch of other ships and put all nuclear attack submarines for modernization with hypersonic missiles.
