@@jefferydraper4019 I mean 48 rounds is a lot, multiply that by 4, and that's a single tank platoon. Accuracy today comes down to the bore-sight, and the crew; not so much the gun. As well as rifled guns are limited to what they can fire(no proper heat or sabot). there's no real comparison, I mean that exact gun has been used for nearly 25? years, and there is no protection in use that can effectively stand up to it.
@sean burke yes , tanks are old hat , no chance against modern drones and even infantry held misile /rocket launchers , also only the american and british tanks have proven cases in serious combat
Well, partly. Given one of these beasts and a manual, I'd be fairly confident I could beat even the best trained WO2 tankcrew. Skill is great, but there are advantages you cannot bridge with skill
K2, Type10, and Leopard 2A7V do shoot on their own. Both Chally 2 and Abrams still use +20 years old FCS. There is also a new player in the league. The Leopard is everything german commanders like Guderian and Rommel would have dreamed about and then some. That tank looks sleek aggressive with a great design and an aura not to mess with.
It's kind of impressive how much armored warfare has developed throughout the years. Especially during the early-mid 1940s during WW2. In 1940 the tanks crews the commander hatch with periscopes and a scope for the gunner and it usually took a few shots to get the range right. Engagements were rarely over a longer distance than 2km. 4 years later the Germans mounted rangefinders since the guns could now fire over such long distances that letting one shot fly and aim thereafter wasn't cutting it. Maximum engagement ranges for the guns had been multiplied by 10 over a span of 5 years. The experimental range finder on one of teh Panzer V Panther variants had an effective range of 20km. To take that into perspective of how far that actually is, the longest hit from a naval gun onto another naval target was scored in 1940 and 1941 by the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst and the British battleship HMS Warspite. They hit their target at approximately 26km. However they were moving targets and they were moving themselves so that greatly affects the aim.
it's not at the top, the Leclerc should be at, he say that the Leclerc has less protection than the M1A2 or the Chally 2 he's stupid as fuck, the Leclerc is the only tank that can block his own shoot

@@rodgerdehart4678 I don't think you understand that magnitude of terror that a single Bob Semple tank would unleash on the battlefield. They have already reached the peak of tank design. There is nothing in the Bob Semple tank that can possibly be improved.
The real point of the Israeli Merkava's unique rear hatch is no to carry "up to 10 soldiers when removing ammo" , there are regular APCs for that - but to drive in reverse to the back of a tank that was disabled and safely extract the crew while still being protected from just about anything, as the crew is more important than the tank. This approach was built upon the proven ability of crews to abandon disabled tanks and continue to fight in other tanks, as they did in the Golan Heights at the Yom Kipur war (one soldier famously went through half a dozen tanks in a single night as they were outnumbered over ten to one and used night time guerrilla tactics to harass and cause chaos in the Syrian armor. read about "Zvika Force", it's amazing!). The tank also has air conditioning, because middle east...
The rear hatch is a great idea..survival of the crew is very important for any army, but for israeli, where there big shortage of man power, it’s absolutely crucial.

In one encounter within the urban area a Challenger 2 came under attack from irregular forces with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades. The driver's sight was damaged and while attempting to back away under the commander's directions, the other sights were damaged and the tank threw its tracks entering a ditch. It was hit directly by fourteen rocket propelled grenades from close range and a MILAN anti-tank missile.[14] The crew survived remaining safe within the tank until the tank was recovered for repairs, the worst damage being to the sighting system. It was back in operation six hours later after repairs.

On 26 February 1991, Trooper Gus Davidson, of the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars, scored the longest tank-on-tank hit, at 4,700m, when his Challenger 1 knocked out an Iraqi T-55 during the First Gulf War. The Challenger 1 had an effective range of 1,200m. Very impressive.
That's the problem. For Germans there was no concept of "Good Enough" They overengineered every part of their tanks in WW2 and that resulted in small numbers due to complicated production/maintenance. Even best tank in the world gets destroyed if it gets swarmed by bunch of Shermans or t-34s to take 2 most numerous allied tanks of the war for instance

I served in the IDF armoured corp in the Merkava Mk3 and can't imagine fighting in a tank without a rear aisle and door; it's life changing. We put shells in from the bank, evacuate injured and even get in with no need to walk on top of the tank exposing yourself to enemy fire. Merkava have been used as "tankbulances" since injured, I mean especially from other units, can be loaded into the back so easily. And I say aisle since for 99% of the tanks that's all there is, a meter and a half pathway and a big hatch, since they're ready to be fully loaded with shells on either side.
But all the international tank trials and competitions show otherwise The Challanger 2 in itself is a solid tank and is very well suited to fight tanks 1 Generation below it. But in a pure objective tank on tank comparison, no crew training and other military assets involved, it falls behind pretty much every other Western competitor and even some Eastern
@@keeperofthecheese I want many things, but Britain certainly doesn't want the Challanger 2 as can be seen with the more recent collaboration between BAE Systems and Rheinmetall. They're literally trying to replace the things that make a Challanger a Challanger; Rifled gun will make way for a new L/55 smoothbore, thus new standardized one-piece ammo, also allowing for safer storage and less fatigue on the loader and a new turret with upgraded composites. The weak engine will be thrown out too, instead of the low-power 1200hp engine it'll get a new automatic trasnmission and the Europack MTU 1500hp engine. Gosh, how many nations have bought the Challanger 2 tank? Oh yea, right, Oman bought 38 of those. Even the Leclerc has sold better. How many Nations operate the M1 Abrams? Do I even have to start talking about the Leopard 2? Many nations have done plenty of extensive testing and trials when looking for a new MBT for their nations military and in pretty much all of them, it was another tank that won, not the Challanger 2. Mate, I don't wanna hate on the Challanger 2 here, I think it's an intersting and unique tank, but I simply don't understand this "Challanger 2 best tank EU West" mode many people are in. Do you really wanna argue against all the experts, engineers, military personal and politicians which have rejected the Challager 2 because of good reasons? I can give you 1 example of those "trials" that I'm pretty knowledgeable about. When Greece was looking for a new tank. The competition was the German Leopard 2A5, American M1A2 (Export), French Leclers with the EuroPowerPack (1500hp), Russian T-80U, Ukrainian T-84 and, you guessed it, the Challanger 2E (E beeing an upgraded tank outfitted with new optics, thermals and once again, the MTU 1500hp engine, just to make potential customers more interested) heck, that Challanger 2E was even better than what the British fielded at that time. The Challanger 2 made it to the 4th place, with top 5 and 6 beeing outdated Soviet-ERA MBTs. The Leopard 2 scoring 78/100 points, Challanger 2 got 69/100. You don't even have to look at the Greel trials, just look at pretty much any internatinal tank challange, like the "Strong Europe Tank Challenge". You know, things like, "no one has ever destroyed one in combat" and "longest tank kill" always sounds nice without the context behind it. But guess what the British were fighting when they were deploying their tanks, guess how skilled the crew of said tanks is and guess who they were fighting with! They certainly know how to use a tank well, hull down and squeeze out every possible advantage, unlike some of the Turkish crew manning a Leopard 2 making terrible mistakes. I guess fighting alongside the USA might have helped to, the worlds best equipped military and especially airforce. "Wow, no Challanger 2 tanks have ever been lost?!" Those Iraqi T55s and, if at all, cheap export T-72Ms, must have been a big threat to those Abrams and Challanger 2 tanks, fighting at night with no air superiority, no Thermals, outdated ammunition and having to engage well trained troops at 2km+.

Challenger 2 is famous for its durability, 70 RPG strikes in one sitting, 14 + Milan ATGM in another, on two occasions where it's been impacted by a large IED & 1 RPG29 one off shot strike on the edge between the lower & lower lower plate resulting in upgraded armour package they were still recoverable under their own power & its Chobham armour is 2nd gen whereas the Abrams has 1st gen reinforced by DU plates.
Nah maybe you mean 12300 rpg strikes ?
But loading the gun is a bitch and can take ages... Take it from a leopard crewman... We just pop in the round , push the right button and yell loud af , loaded !! My personal record as a loader was 2.0 seconds flat... Wich gives the gunner significant increase of firepower compared to a Challenger tank.
Just curious as a Dutch veteran leopard crewmen , how do you guys train? We would take pride in getting the fastest time in the practice halls , where there was basically free standing Leopard towers slung to computers , wich could fully operate and simulate a crew fighting, loading dummy rounds wich would just roll out , like in a bowling alley... Top fun.
now russia have so few tanks that they had to ask Belarus for t-72S BECAUSE UKRAINE HAD DESTROYED ALL OF THEM AS WELL AS T-90 AND 80s. Russia lost that conflict
Nice, only tank never defeated in combat, challenger 2, gets the whole of 2 minutes worth, well done
@Peter J Mallia you are clearly not up to date on the T-14
honestly id take a challenger and an abrams over any of these other tanks, theyve seen combat and proven they can get the job done, and considering how the last german super tank faired when actually fighting despite being great on paper i find it funny that it got the top spot.
@Peter J Mallia fun fact, the best tank in the world is the T-14 Armata from Russia and the 2nd best is the Leopard 2A7V from Germany, the 3rd best is the M1 Abrams from the USA
@@thelastword4635 t-14 hasn't been in any combat so you can't say it's the best tank in the world, a bit of paper could say anything, without a true test it's nothing
@Sylling Boy such as what? non combat tests which were performed under the best of conditions?
3:08 you messed up with Algerian and Azerbaijan flags
I served in the IDF armoured corp in the Merkava Mk3 and can't imagine fighting in a tank without a rear aisle and door; it's life changing. We put shells in from the bank, evacuate injured and even get in with no need to walk on top of the tank exposing yourself to enemy fire. Merkava have been used as "tankbulances" since injured, I mean especially from other units, can be loaded into the back so easily. And I say aisle since for 99% of the tanks that's all there is, a meter and a half pathway and a big hatch, since they're ready to be fully loaded with shells on either side.
l like this design it has proven itself l think more than any other tank on this list too
I have never met any Israeli on the internet, wow.
Nice tank you got there... But let me introduce you to my new best friend... FGM-148 Javelin. ;-)
Am I the only one who loved that Japanese terrain....It looked ao beautiful ❤💚
The climate was epic too.
Battlefield V: The last tiger anyone?
Battlefield 5 was shit and unrealistic... dont even get me started on the insane speed of the tigers turret rotation... its crippling

Glossed over Challenger two in just one minute. When it's battle record is more than exceptional.
But all the international tank trials and competitions show otherwise
The Challanger 2 in itself is a solid tank and is very well suited to fight tanks 1 Generation below it. But in a pure objective tank on tank comparison, no crew training and other military assets involved, it falls behind pretty much every other Western competitor and even some Eastern
Its bad
It literally has the record for longest tank kill, and no one has ever destroyed one in combat, what more do you want.
I still respect the crew of any tank and what they are doing, it's not an easy job, I just wanna get rid of this stupid "Godlike" comparison, with the Challanger 2, out of peoples minds
And other arguements you wanna trow at me Mr Wolfe?
@@Sebastian-yl7nq i hate it when i see people try hard to be an "expert" in the comment section when they can not run 2km or aren't even in the army. spare us with your long narration that we would not read mr tank expect. every nation has its own advantage on their tanks. some have strong amours like challanger, some are fast like our russian ones and some have advanced weapons. Each one of them can destroy the other. but having a strong armour u have the upper hand. we are mature and can read and make reseach so don't come and try to tell us something u think we don't know. there is nothing u know we don't know.R

Javelin missile: 🤣🤣🤣
Before someone complains, the M1A2 is used by the US Army however the M1A1 is still being used by the USMC
At 3:09 you invert the flags the second one is from azerbaijan and the third one is the algerian .
Woah the Korean tank is amphibious 🤯
I don't think so
It's called Deep wading and is something most MBTs can do.
@@dravenmaster7859 It is, takes about 30 minutes to set up. can dive about 4 meters.
It is (like the gun, transmission, suspension and probably the armor) a german imported feature.
T90 is the best tank i the world, it has a flying turret. tested in Ukraine.
Currently going through my application to (hopefully) be a Tank Crewman. And cant wait to work with the Challenger 2. The thing is beautiful.
My father used to be part of a challenger crew. He loved it. Also, you might get to see the new challenger III thats coming

Its still a job I'd like to do but I've been waiting for a test for over a year now with no actual date for it lol.
@@rabiez there is no challenger 3 they are just upgrading the challenger 2 which will bring it into the 21st century with the rest.
@@terrywainman6050 mate. Its already been listed as the "challenger 3". I get what youre saying, but eith that logic the challengr 2 would still be the challenger 1
Never mess with Germans
The Challenger 2 is the best, it has a kettle and a little cupboard for teabags. “You’ll just have to wait mate, we’re on our tea break”
Remember delivering Centurion eng. to the Dutch in the 70s, and having to wait for them to get out of bed, this on exercise, talk about laugh. Heard they had a union?
War jokes aside:
It's incredible that the Germans developed a tank in the 1970's (!) and it's still considered the best in the world.
Sure, it got a lot of mods and upgrades since then, but it still tells a lot about German engineering.
The t14 could potentially be better but until it is battle tested we know nothing for certain.
i swear u featured ukranian t-64s for some of the oplot footage and the cover photo is a type 10 not a type 90
K2 👍
Brother you misspelled kv2
3:10 the Algeria's flag is on the right, and not the one in the middle
Jst for the record
The thing that most of these have never been tested against eachother and that most are still unknown is incredibly ominous. Like, if a WWIII suddenly broke out, there'd suddenly be mass-produced tanks that nobody has ever seen before, slinging plasma bolts at eachother instead of the old fashioned sabots. The solid slugthrowers would still be in service, but not for long.

Challenger 2 armour is not Chobham armour, that was designed in the 1960's and was used on late Chieftain and early versions of Challenger 1, Challenger 2 if fitted with Dorchester armour.
Which boss does that armor drop from?
Dorchester is a version of improved Chobham that is why it is sometimes called Chobham 2
No the Challenger 2 was made with Chobham, then more were made with Dorchester.
Then the UK Army was down sized so the older Chobham were mothballed/put in storage/whatever-you-call-it. And all that was left were the newer Dorchester ones. I believe the new BLACK KNIGHT upgrade takes it to a new level still.
@@WorshipinIdols Yes mate Black Knight is mainly an electronic systems upgrade including better sensors, new commanders TI/O sight, new driver night vision system, laser detection system and Iron Fist anti missile defence system, also an integrated battle management system for the commander.
