Makeup brands better take NOTE of that packaging.
This, I can totally see a Christine McConnell collab with besame or one of the high end luxury brands with this type of packaging.
I kind of want a tutorial on making that eyeshadow pallette.
I love pretty packaging for palettes.
Edit: d'aw should have seen the full video before commenting. I've signed up to patron just to see that tutorial. Best money I've spent during this trying time and I don't feel guilty about delivery. Thanks!
There's a company called Zeesa and they do really gorgeous makeup packaging. They have an Egyptian line and the lipstick cream has hieroglyphics on them!
Edit: Talking to my mom who owns the lipstick, the company is actually called Zeesa and they have many different collections, including one with art by Picasso!
right? I love Mac's products, but the packaging is so ugly
i dont usually buy makeup for the packaging (i dont even buy makeup like my products are all gifts) but the cohesive look of all her makeup products looks so regal
Have you tried the mascara from Besame? It’s actually a tin mascara with the actual formula from the 50’s
I am obsessed with this.
Omg...collab!!!! The universe needs it!!
yes a collab would be ICONIC
Please do a hair, make up, fashion, dolls, and interiors collaboration!
Trixie Mattel i love you and katya! Your show is a highlight of my day, and so so funny.
Same. Also obsessed with YOU ❤️
this is how i want to live. she is my whole aesthetic.
Go for it!
Yup, same.
kayla Sharpe same girl....same
I want to meet and marry this kind of girl so much. I'm quite tomboyish, but I do love this aesthetic as well (and I don't even wear makeup!)
@Funny Lady it's hard to imagine, but I bet Christine wasn't born with talent. She just did it a lot untill she became the master that she is and she keeps trying new things (I imagine when you already know a lot and have a lot of practice, you can always apply some skill you already have to new things). You can clearly see that she enjoys the process of making things, and that's the most important. If you start doing something and see it doesn't bring any fulfillment you can search on google and see if you can buy the stuff already made or someone to personalize it for you (if you are well off)
You look like the headmistress of a magical academy.
I'm sitting here patiently waiting for my owl....
She can cosplay the momma from the promise never land Anime its gonna be spot on
I love the ultra feminine vanity with all the accessories and then two sets of handcuffs. 😂
Great idea, we need to stop with all the disposable napkins and such.
I don't get it why are hanging handcuffs on the vanity i was so confused when i saw them 😹
*eyebrow wiggle*
TYFT
I'M 71 years old. This was a genormorious walk down memory lane. My mother taught me the tissue blotting trick back when I was a blooming teen. Do miss Mabellene mascara in the little red box. And the dead old lady red lipstick is my go to. Very Rita Hayworth and Breakfast at Tiffanys. Gr8
Ma'am, if that picture is recent, you don't look a day over 35. Please share your skincare routine.
You can get the little red box cake mascara from Besame Cosmetics.
@@BB.halo_heir I LOVE their cake mascaras! I have them in Black, Brown and Purple!
I remember cake mascara in small boxes! Still available in the early 70s. Haven't come across since. And of course the pink tissues & tp to coord with the 50s/60s pink porcelain BRs.
You should create a Christine McConnell fashion and beauty line, clothes, makeup, perfume!
omg yes i would buy everything.
Yes!! And home decor
Yes, please
OMG get this to the top I hope she does!!!
Yes! And it all be vintage and and affordable!!
About the pink tissues if you’re so determined to have them, they’re still sold in Egypt. A brand named Fine makes them in different shades like pink(strawberry scented) and light orange (peach scented) and light green. You’re welcome❤️
Oooh interesting! Thank you so much!
I looked on the site and they didn't have them only white
Can you get them in the USA? It’s looking like the website is only for Amazon in other countries.
im this close to just buying pink toilet paper from the two listings i found online instead
She’s just living her best life at all times isn’t she.
She better lol.
If you made your own brand of vintage makeup, I would buy everything, and I know that many of us would be happy to have your complete collection, I love you since I watched you on Netflix.
YEESS I'd buy that so fast
YES!!!
You could dye men’s white handkerchiefs the pink you like and use those instead of Kleenex. They come several in a package and wash nicely.
Lottie Ward Great idea!
Awesome idea! Plus we could write to Scotties or Kleenex to bring back an oldie. They both did it.
Really good idea
She even had pink q-tips!
I remember grabbing pink tissue out of my grandmas purse and didn’t realize what kind of commodity she had going on there
Me: *feeling accomplished that I organized my makeup drawer into plastic baskets from target*
Christine: *decants her entire makeup collection into coordinated, antique designer containers*
You just made me spit out my beer laughing! I don't wear makeup, but I hear you lol. I would kill for her kind of energy and attention to detail.
Well shit now we need a skincare routine! When you were talking during the intro I legit assumed you had already put foundation on and everything! Beautiful skin!
She was not completely without makeup at the beginning.
She obviously doesn't need foundation. Not one drop. Makeup ages your skin in the long run so you shouldn't wear it if you don't need it. We all need powder to set concealer, rouge etc. And there's the dilemma. Because powder may be more drying and aging than foundation, and the foundation provides a barrier between the powder and the skin. Primer may do the job without the need for foundation. I'd look into it.
You are literally what Tim Burton would create if he drew Lana Del Rey. Wow, you’re fabulous.
This is the best description! She reminds me so much of Lana del Rey for some reason!
Yesssss!!!!!
@@hannahcollins1816she’s got some Lana but I see more of that L’Oréal model of the 80s/90s. Need to look her up. Yep it’s Andie macdowell. So basically a cross between andie and Bebe neuwirth and some little bitty of Lana. But definitely got way more andie to her looks. If you compare some of her younger self pictures the resemblance is striking.
I love you and everything you do. You’re an absolute gem, Christine!!! 🖤🖤🖤
Can you do a collab with her ?
You are a joy to watch. I'm glad your name was mentioned to me... so lovely
Yes she is. Her new video is up of her moving into a gorgeous home in New York State. I love your channel too, Dominique, have learned lots, thank you.❤️🇨🇦❤️
Exactly. I’m so glad I found her channel. She’s everything I’ve been searching for. All the vibes.
Christine your house seems so cozy, if you have to quarantine then that seems like a great place to do so! It’s beautiful
Truely a unique one of a kind lady...I adore the femininity that is being showcased here...from the rooms decor to the final touches in the routine. Christine you have embodied the ghosts of ellegant women who have impressed history with their beauty and creativity.
You my dear have found your way into the hearts of many and set a coveted example of what others could aspire to...
One day I aspire to be as impressive and able to cammand a room, in such a delicate manner, as she does. To really be the owner of my house and life and to live from a craft I adore as she does.
I'm listening...
We all can only watch in envy
I’m rooting for you. Unfold it.
It’s like she lives in a prettier version of Disney’s Haunted Mansion 😂❤️
*Christine with makeup* me: she's gorgeous
*Christine without makeup* me: she's gorgeous
100% agreed
Yes! I would love Christine in a perfectly made up dark ruby lipstick and no other makeup except a light touch of foundation. She is gorgeous! Her videos are so peaceful and "of the night time". I loved all of as a child ` in the 1970's( I liked Victoriana when everything was neon!) and still have a lot of my mom and grandmother's vintage baubles. I love the timelessness and ghostliness of all things Ms. McConnell.
You have naturally glamorous old Hollywood style. Classic beauty.
All these vintage containers give me a very “Death Becomes Her” vibe! 😍
I’ve never felt so compelled to join a Patreon until today, I was sold immediately, boom! Such a naturally entertaining and engaging presenter, fantastic talent, creative content, you don’t need Netflix, you are special and unique, a Renaissance Woman 🥰
you should do a hair tutorial next because i love how you do your hair. looks so pretty and simple.
Yes! I would love to see a hair tutorial too!!! :O
for those who want a similar style of packaging, Japanese high end makeup brand like jill stuart, paul&joe, and Les Merveilleuses LADURÉE
actually have some exquisite elegant packaging.
I am checking these out. Amazing. . I love what Christine can do with antique cigarette cases, etc. That would take me a year to make. I'm loving the lines you have above. Thank you for sharing.
Christine is a Quarantine cure!
LOVE her.
Such a talented, creative & truly beautiful woman. ♥️
Couldn't agree more!! Not only is she gorgeous but she's so creative and is so inspirational in many ways, especially during this time!
It's ironic that your lifestyle seems so synonymous to the series "Twin Peaks" - spooky and intriguing, especially since your from that area. Love watching your channel, lovely being put in a "mystical" environment and being hosted by someone mature, "out of this world ", yet "normal" person.
Me getting the notification* Who's uploading at midnight???
*Seeing that it's Christine* Witching Hour Let's Goooo!!!
You are really talented. You have created your own version of Adams family and your patience is highly commendable. In a world of disposables and online shopping, it’s hard to find a person like you, seems like you are in a wrong era. Your creations are hypnotic.
Pink tissue is a thing in Thailand. I believe it’s one of the cheapest type of tissue paper. Almost every street food stores have the pink tissue paper!
I think that is lovely. The color of fruit tree blossoms.
It's different tho, we have pink tissue paper here in Indonesia as well, usually we can find them in street food vendors, but they're textured and and thick, not like the one she showed
You should mail some to Christine
You get all these things accomplished & still find time to do makeup everyday. I am flabbergasted. 👏🏻
No kids makes it easier .
I love Baily Sarian. She does a series called Murder, Mystery and Makeup Monday where she tells a story about murder and mystery while she puts on her makeup. Very fun!
Now that I find very interesting. I haven't heard about that one.
I watch her too!
She's hilarious. Her makeup style is a lot more heavy handed than Christine's but she's very skilled.
Shana sha shana sha shana sha sha shana shaaaaaaa
Oh wow, the transferring modern makeup to vintage packaging is something I've been wanting to do for years. I've collected a drawer full of vintage compacts that I've never done anything with. Besame sells a vintage style cake mascara and the packaging would fit in so perfectly with your collection.
You’re truly as a fascinating person. The antique-pastel-goth really is your coined signature lol. And while I’m probably not going to try most of your projects I really enjoy all your content.
And as someone who loves atmospheric music, the song at the end had an aura to it. Lovely choice.
Yours,
Liz
AdLibby _definitely_ would not say Christine is pastel goth by any means. More cottage core/50’s pinup than anything else.
@@TheAzerath idk I kinda agree with pastel goth cause there's always a bit of a creepy/haunting vibe to her content that's cloaked in vintage aesthetic.
@@TheAzerath or maybe cottage core goth instead of pastel goth with a sprinkle of vintage
Her husband does all the music, and If you're a Patreon subscriber, she provides links to it ;-)
Ya'll are introducing me to what all the aesthetic styles are called!
Love the outro clip where you're posing elegantly and then it cuts to the cat tokyo drifting into a void
You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable at all ! You are beautiful with or without makeup - although, I have to confess, I wear it every day, too ! Thank you for sharing ! I love all your videos ❤️
I have to say that my main takeaway from this video is that Christine does NOT need any makeup at all - she looks fantastic without it.
Every like=same
The moment I found you, I went through all your videos and I was magically teleported to this imaginary world of witches and castles.. I love your aesthetics and I think you are super talent and very beautiful.. because you make most things from scratch, I have a lot of respect for you.. I wish there were more videos.. you’ve earned yourself a new lifelong loyal fan.. ❤️❤️🙌
I could literally just watch a perpetual livestream of your life, Christine! Thank you for allowing us all to live vicariously through you. Also, you are gorge with or without makeup.
Samantha H yes agreed she could literally live stream her life. She’s a natural beauty and doesn’t need it but looks glamorous with the makeup. Like vintage old Hollywood glamour.
@@zofiajaneczek184 Yes for sure! Totally agree!
Your beauty is timeless. Love your style and creativity. The roses and your overall vibe are beautiful and feminine. Your love for Kitties, flowers, owls and Victorian flare resonates with my spirit.
You are so classically beautiful when you first came on screen you looked like you were wearing a very fresh minimal makeup look. I love that you put your makeup in those lovely antique bottles and containers. Art does not have to be reserved for picture frames and walls. The aesthetics of our everyday items as well as every single thing we choose to surround ourselves with speaks volumes about who we are. I know you agree because that's kind of your bread and butter, so to speak. I love your unique, interesting, beautiful art. Thank you for sharing.
I am now entirely convinced that Christine is an eclectic immortal... or an incarnation of an ancient goddess... or possibly the Angel of Art. Just divine!
The vintage containers are beautiful. I'm the type at the moment to rush through my makeup, but really only because I don't have a lot of time, especially with the kids home right now. I do tend to spend a good amount of time on my brows. I plucked them into near oblivion in the Great Tweeze of the 90s and more or less have to create new ones every time I go out. But if nothing else, that's the one thing I make sure to do.
The 90's was really tuff on our brow's. Moment of silence for our fallen brow hairs. 🙏
Amethyst Rain & Jana the 90s were tough on hair in general.. 🙄
'The Great Tweeze' 😆😆 I am also a victim!
Lol u said it all, from all the kids being home right now to, making sure that the brows are done before doing anything else at the least, that's all definitely me to the 'T'!
That's the one thing people forget. I love Christine's aesthetic, but she *doesn't have children* and that makes a huge difference.
Her surroundings, the music and symbols such as an owl, leaves chills down my spine. Definitely a eerie/macabre/witchy vibe.
your hair looks absolutely amazing in this video! if you ever decide on a beauty video again, please do a hair tutorial! love from Brazil ❤
Not even the mirrors had a reflection of the camera, this couldn’t get any more professional! I wish I found this channel earlier you’re aesthetic is everything
While watching your tutorial I feel like I am in the french princesses’s dress room. AMAZING 💙💙💙
I was completely mesmerized through this whole tutorial.
Me too, what an experience
Christine and melt makeup eyeshadow/lipstick collab would be AMAZING!!!
"Adds a bit of life to your face" = mad vampire skills!!! She's learned a lot over the centuries 🖤🖤🖤
Every time I watch Christine, she always reminds me to reset my timeframe and slllooowww down, enjoy the beauty of things that I’ve forgotten - those things that I’ve spent my whole life collecting! That’s why I have all these beautiful things - it was that initial caring of atheistics and the silly idea of make up in beautiful containers and enjoying the process of putting make up on, if you don’t then you’re not enjoying the journey of life and you need to re-evaluate things. That’s the glamorous part of being a girl and it’s easy to get wrapped up in everything else and forget- it feels good pampering yourself❤️
Your videos kept popping up in my recommendations, but for some reason I never clicked because I thought I wouldn't like them. Boy oh boy I was so wrong. You are a delight to watch and you have a similar magic to what the Studio Ghibli films manage to inspire, which is a love and respect for everything around you. I adore your passion for making the things around you more interesting, being crafty and recycling. I can't wait to see more of your content, particularly in a time like now where everything seems grim. I'm stuck at home but after watching your videos I'm thinking of all the craft projects I can start. Thank you and keep up the amazing work.
no one is doing it like you Christine!!
I can't believe I just watched a 25 minute make up tutorial. I have no interest in makeup but I love this channel.
y’all wanna bet makeup brands gonna start making “antique” packaging after seeing this video
There is a brand called Beseme that already do some lovely stuff.
There's one already but I hope more do! It's so beautiful.
It would make it a crap load easier on me to skip one more craft project
madmarieuk yes, I love Besame!
No, I won't bet because they aren't smart enough to do that.
You are naturally beautiful Christine. And I love the colour of your eyes .
I CANNOT STAND HER SHE IS STUNNING SHE IS TALENTED ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was so relaxing to watch. I think that using the tissue to blot after applying foundation and concealer makes a lot of sense. It would absorb some product that is "sitting" on the face attached to small hairs that could stand out and appear cakey after powder. The setting spray in the antique perfume bottle is amazing I was waiting for that!! The solid perfume balm was great too. Your aesthetic is dreamlike and full of charm and mystery! 😍✨💄
Firstly, of course, I have to swoon and fawn over how AMAZINGLY gifted you are. Your endless creativity and spooky glamour aesthetic are inspiring and coveted by many, myself hardly excluded. Simply put, you are adored, and I adore you.
Secondly, I had an tiny idea for your mascara; since you're having trouble transferring it into a more desirable container, you could always build a new container around it! You could use old rectangular mirrors from makeup compacts to create a mirrored container and then add a little painted or sculpted symbol on the sides or the lid, or you could find a perfectly sized container to fit the mascara base and lid inside of, or even simply carve out a beautiful little wooden one yourself to fit it into....the ideas are infinite! I need not say more, as I have no doubt you'll find the perfect solution on your own--you always do. Just thought I'd add my two bloody cents.
It's like I always say: if you can't lead the horse to water, drown the damn thing. *wink*
Ta ta, you darling thing!
*Seamlessness*
Giving me John Maclean vibes.
How do you say Goddess without sounding arrogant? 😉 My favourite (slightly altered) quote.
Since you love the vintage aesthetic, have you tried Bésame Cosmetic's cake mascara?
Their whole line is vintage inspired. From the aesthetics to the colours.
Love the shoutout to our beloved alien queen Juno Birch!
Juno Birch is amazing! I’d recommend looking at her Vogue “Extreme Beauty Routine.” There are also several other artists on that series that may appeal to you, if you enjoy eccentric or avant-garde makeup and clothing. Jaymes St. James has a series called Transformations that has an aesthetic that falls under the same sort of umbrella. Lastly, there are so many other drag queens like Trixie Mattel or Kim Chi who do amazing things with makeup. Thank you for being such a beautiful creative inspiration - I love everything about your videos.
Not to take away anything from their artist mojo but I watched Juno birch vogue and I didn’t come close to getting anything from the purple concealer etc- it was more, to me, a showcase about the extreme art that was being created- which I appreciated but I got nothing there for makeup tips. Maybe for inspiration? I don’t know. Lisa Eldridge - on the other hand, she had really good tips.
Silvergirl7 That’s a pretty reasonable response I’d say. I think if you’re looking for creative and interesting ways people wear makeup, Juno Birch is a good channel for you. If you’re looking for tips on how to do your makeup, you’re right, those channels might not be as useful. I really like Robert Welsh for realistic, everyday makeup tips, and everyone will have their own preferences, but I think there’s something for everyone out there.
Try Hungry. That’s an aesthetic that simply is to behold.
Dear Christine, you are absolutely gorgeous!
Christine, you make "dead old lady" colors look so good!
Christine is georgeous without or with makeup .. She is simply a lovely lady .. Beautiful inside n out ⚘
You are annoyingly beautiful with or without makeup. I love all of the ideas! Thank you!
loved this tutorial x
This video looks like something from your channel.
I love how you do your makeup--done without being overdone (which is how I like to look), your vanity is to die for, and for the record, you are RIDICULOUSLY gorgeous even without makeup! Well done tutorial--keep 'em coming!!
I've always admire Christine's vintage hand mirror cuz it looks beautiful and so beautiful like it's handcrafted with diamonds and a gold plated trim around the back of the mirror.
As soon as Christine said “median shade in the socket”, my mind instantly shouted “TRANSITION SHADE IN THE CREASE”
I would LOVE a hair tutorial for this! You exude beauty in so many ways!
You skin looks so nice and glowy without makeup, and I also am amazed by your makeup skill! Thanks for the nice distraction :)
I never ever considered subscribing to a patron before but WOMAN! That aesthetic is epoustouflante.
I'm simple, I see christine and I click! Also can you show how you made that mirror?!
Thank you for being vulnerable with us!
Something about your videos makes me feel so comfortable and something ...nostalgic, such a cozy feeling. You’re absolutely brilliant.
Makeup is the one area I really take my time in as well and this was such a lovely video. I’m always in awe of the detail and care you put into everything you do. I’ve always wanted to deport some of my products into other things once I’m settled in my own house. But never thought about setting spray in an atomiser that’s genius. As usual really enjoyed this thanks Christine.
Me, in real live, saw someone had a handcuff laying around in their bedroom : well, im running, see ya never want to meet ya👋👋😌
Me, see Christine had a vanity that had 2 handcuff hanging on them : well, that's sooo like her🤣🤣
Re: mascara not transferable maybe you could create a little case for your modern mascara, so it's like an etui for the modern cosmetics that you don't want to put in vintage bottles for sanitary reasons... Love your content
Thank you for this! You look stunning both with and without make up. Also, those lamps in your room are everything!
Makeup as a cover up, a mask, an expression or just an every day thing..I'M INTO IT!!!!!!!
I remember tissues like those pink ones! I remember we used to have peach coloured ones occasionally!
Christine, you're GORGEOUS --- with or without makeup! :)
What about the Cake Mascara from Besame Cosmetics? It comes in a tin as well or you can get just the refill cake so you can use your own tin. I love their vintage recreation lipsticks that are copies of real vintage colors from many eras.
Omg this whole video aesthetic, decor, and production level is to die for. I live for this kind of content.
Christine, i have been binge watching your videos. They are a breath of fresh air from all the craziness around thank you! 🙂❤
Finally someone who understands why it takes me over 4hours to do my makeup ( not including my hair) I find it very soothing to put on and lately I have lost quite a few family members and I need to really take my time and honor myself and the memories of them to take my time and prepare myself for what I have a hard time with. I have found that the more people who I loose I have a difficult time just going into the world every day and makeup helps me relax and prepare myself to go outside.
Wow, this entire video was such a gorgeous aesthetic. I kept getting 18th century Queen of France vibes. Wonderful attention to detail as always. I'd love to see a vintage hair tutorial as well. You always have your hair done so nicely! How to do creepy woodworking while having sorceress worthy hair.
Ha! “A dead old lady color”!!!!! That’s great! I live for those colors too!
You need to do a hair tutorial sometime, these big romantic buns you wear are so incredible looking
I agree, I'm starvingly waiting for your hair tutorial Cristine McConnell!!
No no no! I’m literally dying, I love your show on Netflix I literally like re-watch it like every other week, i’m so glad you have a platform here where you can share ideas thoughts and techniques! Tallyfrosh balls! Absolutely love you thank you for being here! ✨🦢🕊🔥✨🤟🏼🧿♥️
this was so wonderful to watch! almost like a ghibli movie about a sorceress who is from the 1800s living life in the present. v magical ALSO OMG WE STAN JUNO BIRCH!
Your channel is just. Wow. A Magical experience. You’re everything I’ve been looking for my whole life.
You are an ethereal creature❤️ Beautiful inside and out!
those hanging lamps...I love!
Awesome vibes and filming 😭 felt truly magical
Your skin is gorgeous! You are so naturally beautiful. And so is your little poofy kitty! I love the idea of antique containers for your makeup products, so smart.
Can I just say that you look absolutely stunning, even natural without makeup. You make your technique look so effortless, and your antique containers are beautiful. I’m waiting for you to start a shop so that I can order your handmade items. Your artistry reminds me of the next valuable collectibles; heirlooms to pass down to future generations.
This is such a comfort video for me…I watch it all the time!
