Or Leia is mistaken, she was given an adoptive mother who died before Leia was old enough to understand she was adoptive mother. And nobody bothered to correct it because better to hide identity then "your mother died at child birth"
Well it is immplied she diedd in childbirth since they were split up. Also some people remember their birth and even time in the womb. Without the Force obviously.
Luke: What a coincidence!?! Mine died when I was 35 seconds old. Makes sense why you remember her, you spent 2 more seconds with her. I don’t know if Luke’s older or Leia🤷🏻♀️
"Just images, feelings": I assert Leia does not "remember" her mother, but has a connection with her through the Force. As a child, she was able to see visions of the past (as Yoda says can happen), and that is what she "remembers".
It's really stupid to read the comments about this subject. I don't understand how people could not have come to the same conclusion as you did, while this has been explained in the previous films.

***** (Sorry for the postponed reply) I'll give you that; Vader had just amputated his son's hand and threatened him. However, remember Leia was captured by Vader, held as a prisoner, given injections by him, and stood by as her home planet was destroyed.
e115mastery Yeah, because back in 1983, in George Lucas' mind, the prequels were already established. So why don't they match the OT's storyline? I'm sorry, I don't buy it. But I respect your opinion.
I agree. I know Luke specified "Your real mother", but perhaps Bail Organna married again, and Leia had no idea he was referring to their birth mother.
It doesn't really matter what Lucas originally had in mind, as long as it can be explained in retrospect, which thankfully it can when you interpret her as talking about her adoptive mother, believing she was her real mother. I mean, George Lucas didn't originally plan for Vader to be Luke's father, or for Vader and Anakin to be the same person, or for Luke and Leia to be siblings, and you can kinda tell- for example, Obi Wan calls Vader "Darth" in their duel, as though it's genuinely meant to be his first name. And the whole deal with Obi Wan's story to Luke about his father being "true from a certain point of view" is clearly bullshit too, but the explanations are sufficient enough so I'm not really bothered by lines like this.
Michelle Streater it might've been a feeling in the back of her head but she dismissed it. It's like your subconscious or a gut feeling tell big you this and that, and you either listen to it or brush it off and reason that there's no way. In this case it's the force connection between them.
This scene has evidence of Han's character development. Usually he would just walk away, not giving a damn but here he apologizes for reacting in a devil may care attitude - his compassion for Leia being more important.
That's a really important moment for him because otherwise, it makes no sense they'd later marry and have a kid together. This little moment is what makes him worthy in Leia's eyes of basically loving this man for the rest of their lives.
In the EU, aside from Luke, Han is one of the first people who forgave Anakin after hearing his story. Han always was a good person. He just buried it deep down with a harsh exterior. Around Luke and Leia, he no longer had to hid it.
In many ways, Luke resembles his mother Padme more than his father Anakin. It is fascinating to note that at this point in the saga, after Anakin's true identity is revealed to him, Luke starts to unconsciously take on the role of his mother and show curiosity about her. In reality, they resemble each other in their outlook and personalities. "There is still good in him."
+xezene1 It's kinda funny and cool how at the beginning of the movies, Luke starts out a lot like Anakin. Whiney and wants to go exploring. But then by the end, Luke ends up acting like Padme instead. Hopeful, wise and mature. Plus, as a side note, Leia is also much like her father. They're both pretty angry a lot of the time XD
Leia: Luke, run away! Far away! If he can feel your presence, than leave this place. *30 years later* Episode 7: The Force Awakens LUKE SKYWALKER HAS VANISHED.
Luke is really padme's son. Padme tells obi-wan "There's good in him, I know there's still...." And then years later Luke says "There is good in him, I feel it." Both talking about Vader/Anakin and they were both trying to save him.
For those wondering why she kissed him if she "always knew"... I think they felt a strong connection to one another, they just didn't realise what it was initially.
Rest in peace, Carrie Fisher, the actress of Leia Amidala Skywalker Organa Solo. You will be missed by Star Wars fans and all those who have seen your talents. The Force will be with you, always.
Luke finds out Vader is his father: NOOO!! THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!! NOOOO!!! Leia finds out Vader is her father: Oh..This is a lot to take in...Guess I always knew...
On Leia's mind (probably): 1) Cool! I have a brother. 2) That means I made out with my brother. Crap. 3) So my real father tortured me two movies ago? And he froze in carbonite Han? Crap.
“I have to try” That line perfectly embodies what is wrong with Luke in The Last Jedi, he never even tried to save Ben, he just ran off to an island and said oh well he is irredeemable so now I’m gonna sit here on this island for the next decade and die, Luke would never had done that.
Marco Amato people change , it happens. He literally says in the film "For a split second I thought about ending it all... but I couldn't" Luke literally in THIS film (ROTJ) smacks the shit out of his dad and cuts his hand off and you think its completely out of character for him to have a moment of weakness, christ he's not a fucking god, nor should he be, thats boring.
@@medall9191 your point? I didn't say he sucked, I said he can succumb to the Dark Side like everyone can, that was the point of TLJ. The fact that Luke constantly overcomes evil through effort basically makes him stronger.
I never interpreted “I’ve always known” as her knowing that he was her brother but more that she felt a connection or bond that she didn’t know how to interpret. It makes her kissing him make sense because she thought it was romantic but when he tells her it clicks. That or Lucas screwed up...

@ad I totally agree with you. With his experience and new teachings, he would be grandmaster by now. But no, Disney decided to f*** one of my many favorite starwars characters of all time.
And “Jake” would leave his friends and family to face the First Order themselves, and refuses to help them even after they are literally driving them to extinction. And people got the guts to call that “character development”, man get the fuck outta here!
3:10 I love how you can tell here that it has just dawned on Leia that the guy who tortured both her and Han is actually her father. Also, when Han's talking to her and she's upset I feel a lot of fans don't realise that she is upset because she has just found out she is Darth Vader's daughter, not because she's Luke's sister or something.
Jake Rittlinger No offense taken, mate. I've heard a lot of fans complain that Leia is a robot with no emotion and an example they give is that she never seems phased by the revelation that Darth Vader is her father. However in this scene, she is clearly upset over the fact. The only way I can see fans over-looking this is if they thought Leia was upset in this scene over Luke being her brother rather than Vader being her father.
Wrong... She never even mentions anything about Vader being her father in the conversation, but she is however concerned when he's gonna confront him, which she tries to convince him not to. How embarrassing of both you and Jake Rittlinger to think you are so clever, yet so incorrect.
MissMismagius Wrong again. Luke told her that Vader is his father, then telling her that she’s his sister. With a bit of thinking, she can easily find out that Vader is also her father. And yes, she’s scared that Luke will confront Vader as well, because she doesn’t want him dying, as she just found out he is her brother, plus she really cares about him.
Honestly I never hated his arc in the sequel trilogies- we all get beaten down. But in the end he came through. Very relatable. I’ve failed in my life a few times and I totally get what Luke was doing.
@@maxfrankow1238 The issue with it is that nobody wanted to pick up 30 years later to see Luke as a beaten down Jedi in exile. We already saw that with Obi Wan and Yoda. And with the attitude Luke has at his core, I don't buy it in the slightest. This movie ends with an overwhelming feeling of hope and optimism. Luke is a mature, noble, powerful Jedi Knight on his way to rebuilding the jedi order, and he clearly has the guidance of Yoda Obi Wan and Anakin in the afterlife. The sequels giving us a new Empire, a new Vader, and the jedi being nearly extinct again is just so lame. There are a million other more interesting directions they could have taken Luke as a character and the sequel trilogy as a whole. The movies could have depicted Luke and the jedi thriving all those years later. It could be an exploration into what the jedi truly are, what Luke's training for them is like. The jedi are still so mysterious all these years later, even the prequels barely touched on their lifestyles and the process of becoming one.
@@maxfrankow1238 Portraying Luke the way he was portrayed in the Sequel trilogy though, was not what the fans wanted to see. Luke being beaten down is another story, probably in a novel or TV series, not on the big screen.
I like Carrie Fisher's delivery in these scenes. It feels so childlike and helpless, which is exactly how you would feel after such a series of revelations. Not only finding out that a good friend is your brother or that your father is one of the most brutal mass murderers in the galaxy, but that your brother is now marching into almost certain death to try and save that same father's soul.
My favorite part of this scene is Luke believing he can bring Vader back to the light. "I can save him, I can turn him back to the good side." No one else in the galaxy thought so
Annakin was the best dude in the galaxy until stuff started going nuts in his life. Luke is him and Padme, so... It´s like the love of Padme coming back through Luke, the prevailment of true Love, the only thing stronger than the Force
@@F3rn4nd0S1lv4 Anakin really wasn't the best dude, let alone in the galaxy. But I think the pressure of everyone trying to put all that on him, of trying to make him some paragon of the Force instead of just a kid who grew up in messed-up circumstances and needed love and support, is what really started to turn him. Though he did choose to go Darkside. I think what Luke senses is that Vader still has the ability to choose to turn back and become Anakin again, with the right motivation of unconditional love from his son.
@@JOHNSMITH-dc6lr It's actually explained that due to Leia looking at Padme when she was just born and the force itself helping, she had those slight images of her mother

This version of Luke only gets better once you read the sequel EU novels. Luke later realizes his full potential as a Jedi and meets the love of his life.
Your Local Neighborhood Pug the one on Hoth, definitely. But at the time, she was unaware(and George Lucas didn’t have plans to make her his sister) that Luke and her were twins.

+Ricky Manson In the movie, Leia felt it when Han died using her Force powers. Furthermore. in the Force Awakens book she senses the millions of deaths when Coruscant explodes. And yes that book is canon.
I'm pretty sure she didn't become one because she was in love with Han and then they had Ben Solo, so If she had become a Jedi she would've directly disobeyed the Jedi code or whatever it's called 😂😂
This scene was pivotal to why so many people reacted so negatively to the Last Jedi. In this scene the reason we love Luke is that he never gives up on his father in spite of everything he's done. Yet we are supposed to accept that decades later he not only had a moment of weakness with Ben (which in isolation I can grant) but that he basically gave up on him entirely after that and let him wreak havoc on the galaxy. However IMO this scene also reflects negatively on Leia. You mean to tell me that here, after silently endorsing Luke's hope to bring his father back to the light, in TLJ she too gives up on her son before the end of episode 8? In hindsight, the actions of both Skywalkers seem completely out of character however at least Han Solos legacy becomes even stronger; by comparison he knew what his son had become and yet he still went to try and bring him home because he believed in him and loved him; even as the blade went through him he touched his sons face because he LOVED him. Padme, on her deathbed, despite Anakin choking her with the galaxy in smokes and knowing her husband killed younglings, still loves him and believes in his goodness. Luke and Leia, in ROTJ, despite everything Vader has done to them and their friends, still believe in his goodness. Han, in TFA, despite all his son had done, still loves him and believes in his goodness. What the hell happened to Luke and Leia in TLJ??? What a mess.
ABCDyeahyeah you know a lot can change in the span of 20/30 years right? It’s not like they’ll turn out to be the same years later. Some shit that happen in your life may affect your personality
Whose to say Vader and Kylo Ren are the same anyway? (At the end of the day Anakin NEVER would have deliberately killed Padme or his mother). Luke mentions that he can still feel good in Vader, maybe the same just isn't true for Kylo Ren
Luke was such a strong character here, so accepting about what he had to do. I am very disappointed by what they did to him in The Last Jedi. At least they played Luke and Leia's theme. That had me in tears. Leia's "hold me." I said that out loud when Han and Leia reunited in The Force Awakens. A guy behind me snickered and said "good timing."
"It's you, Leia. You're my sister." "Oh...oh fuck! Gross! I kissed you! On the lips!" "Aw sick, I totally forgot about that! Why'd you have to bring it up again?!?!" "Okay, let's just pretend that that *never fucking happened*." "Agreed."
So character growth I never really appreciated before...Leia starts the trilogy in Episode IV as this hard, closed-off woman with her shields up. By the end in scenes like this, you're seeing real human moments from her where she's opening up and actually letting people in.
This scene had so much mystery back in the 90s. The fact that Darth Vader had a wife- the way Luke looks so distraught. I always wondered what this woman would have been like. Then I got FROM MY POINT OF VIEW THE JEDI ARE EVIL.

The Prequels really should have had Padme surviving long enough for this scene to make sense, like Padme hiding out with Leia somewhere when Vader turns to the dark side, while Luke is sent somewhere else
Yeah, me too. Like, I know Leia could have had visions of it or used the Force or whatever, but it seems like a little too much. It makes a lot more sense for their mother to have survived at least a few years after Luke and Leia's birth. That would explain how Leia could remember her mother and what she was like.
Its fictional. Also in revenge of the sith, if you pay attention baby leia has eyes open and is looking at padme. It does make sense. In the star wars world.
No. The prequels did not need to leave Padme alive longer. Scientists say a human baby can hear the mother's voice in the womb and that is why it responds to her voice when born. Leia had force powers she didn't recognize and they were likely in use before and after her birth so she could sense her mother before birth. And when born, she had her eyes open so she could see her mother, hear her and sense her feelings, her sadness. Luke had his eyes closed, so he does not remember his mother and quite likely Owen and Beru did not mention her much in the same way they did not talk much about his father.
@@alphaxan8175 which, I'll agree with and remark on 4 years after you posted this: And that's fine. I think it kind of shows that one's struggle with resisting the dark side is never truly finished. Moments of weakness will hit almost anyone. Especially when you're a mega powerful wizard and you unwillingly see visions of the future of this little brat turning into a murderous psychopath. Themes of fate and destiny are pretty heavy in Star Wars. (The OT at least. The PT tried to make it scientific by letting you count powerlevels of force in one's bloodstream, rofl.) So to answer this in more of a cheap manner? Luke's fate with Vader is just simply different from what it was with Kylo. But Vader was also in a completely different place from Kylo when Luke is in their lives. Vader: Already evil by someone else's doing. Showed he was unable to kill Luke in their last encounter. And with an ultimate showdown on the Death Star, this was all going to end one way or another. Honestly, the only thing being on the DS did was ensure that Vader/Palpatine wouldn't be more hands on in either of the other battles. The Death Star blows up regardless of who wins between Luke/Vader. Kylo: About to be evil by Luke's doing; this is him gripping with his own failures. And unlike Vader in which there was a very definitive 'last stand' moment. the future for Kylo was still murky and long. Luke couldn't really afford to fail here. That 'leniency' he had on the Death Star was no longer in play.
@@IRanOutOfPhrases Yeah, I'm always bothered by people saying he "tried to kill Kylo", I mean, did we watch the same movie? 😭 I like the arc of Luke in Episode VIII (even tho they kinda messed it up in Episode IX because producers were like "Nooo, erase the script and do a new one based on what people say in Reddit, we need this movie to be more liked" and did... well, Episode IX), I don't understand most of the complaints. Also I remember people complaining about Leia "suddenly" being Force sensitive, like, come on, it is very clearly said in the original movies, mostly in this scene actually XD
@@invenciblefolgore6405 ESB even gives you a scene of Leia & Luke talking telepathically. (Albeit, this was before they decided Leia was a Skywalker as well, as I think that only was made final when it came to write RotJ. Happy accident) One thing I should have made more clear too: Luke wasn't dealing with his own failings in RotJ. Vader was never his fault. Luke just needed to be Luke to 'survive.' In TLJ, he's facing his own failure head-on. It's a completely different dynamic. If he let's Kylo become darkside, Luke has the Force foresight to KNOW that will lead to the deaths of so many others. And that's blood squarely on Luke's hands, especially if he has a chance to stop it. And sure enough, by not handling Kylo, Kylo goes onto be a key part of the starkiller base. Honestly? I'm not so sure that stopping Kylo before he could do that IS an evil move, lol. Its essentially the age-old question: If you had a time machine and could 'stop' a certain dictator as a baby, would you do it? None of that dynamic really exists with Vader. He's already bad and it was someone else's fault. And it's not really Luke's responsibility to clean that up. Completely different from what manifested with Kylo. You can stop reading there, but if you're into sports analogies: Its the difference between playing vs coaching. When you're a player, you're really only responsible for yourself. Of course there's pressure to perform well, but so much of it is individual, even on a team sport. You can really only control what you do. When you're a coach? Good lord, the pressure is exponential in comparison. Losing is bad enough as a player. But losing is the worst as a coach. You feel a responsibility for how everyone performs all of a sudden. It's an entirely different mindset when you're in charge of the troops. Luke was playing in RotJ. He was coaching in TLJ.

The subtlety of Carrie Fisher’s acting as he is explaining why he must confront Vader is SO powerful. Her sniffle at 2:53 when he says “he won’t turn me over to the Emperor” … she loves her brother so much and struggles to keep her composure at the very thought of the Emperor getting his hands on him … she listens with overwhelmed, conflicting emotions as he states with such conviction that their father can be brought back … she doesn’t know how to believe that Vader could ever be anything but a monster, yet a part of her can’t help but secretly hope that she may see her real father … think of how many times throughout her life she must’ve wondered about her biological parents and dreamed she may somehow know them one day. But the memories of torture and of Alderaan are still fresh. She’s torn in two. It’s all conveyed in her eyes and facial expressions as she gazes at him.
“…Because there is good in him, I felt it!” Absolutely beautiful and rich with John Williams score! Hits every time! This is the real Star Wars at its prime!
Watching this scene between Luke & Leia, it just re-emphasizes to me all over again just how magical the characters Han, Luke & Leia were to the original SW's saga. I also add R2D2 and Yodi to that statement too. Having the original main 3 characters gone, it can never be the same for me ever again. For me, it's like when actor Dan Blocker ("Hoss Cartwright") died, Bonanza was never the same. And when Curly was no longer one of the original 3 Stooges, they were never the same either. It didn't help SW either when RJ destroyed Luke's character, and episodes 7 & 8 were not the same/didn't grab me magically like the original trilogy did.
This scene is so well done. Luke wanting to know what he could about their mother and tell Leia why he is leaving to face Vader, being brother and sister, telling her goodbye in case if he was not going to make it out alive. One of my favorite scenes in the Star Wars Trilogy. Thanks for uploading. ❤️❤️❤️
And Leia becoming emotional. One of the men she loved turning out to be her brother, realizing the man she hated, the man who caused her so much pain is her father...
@@stolasgoetia93 We did not see it, but no doubt, after his arrival back with his father's body, Luke further explained to his sister that her father was, not really Vader but was called Anakin and all he presently knew about him.
sorry but I can’t help but think of what Carrie said once “In a way, I am Princes Leia and Princess Leia is me” “Han gets more confused the more clothes that comes off a woman. It’s a good type of confused.”
"Luke run away, fay away!" - Leia "Ok. i will go to the jedi temple in an isolated island.. Meet me in episode 7!" - Luke "Im too old in that episode. I will send a young hot talented girl named Rey. She exactly like you too. Good in fixing things and lived in a desert planet" - Leia "Okay!" Luke "For god sake, please say something in the last scene!" Leia
The fact Leia remembers her mother in this movie gives you an idea of how much they'd thought things out at that time. Obviously in the prequels Leia's mother dies right after their birth, so unless she's talking of some kind of foster mother this is kind of a continuity break(?). For me this also kind of helps cement the original story as its own universe. As much as I love all the newer stuff that's come like clone wars, the prequels etc, I do view the first three movies as their own thing (almost as if prequels and other things weren't canon) because it feels like a much different story that gives off a lot more mystery...
The part where Leia says to Han "Hold me". really touched my heart and I had tears running down my face because I knew she would fall for him and end up with him. True love.
This has always been one of my favorite scenes in “Return of the Jedi” and Star Wars in general. It’s emotional because of the dialogue, but also because of the way these characters really show who they are now that so much has changed. Mainly, it’s successful because of the way Mark Hamill evokes Luke’s earnest and conflicted feelings in this moment. You can tell he’s internally anguished, yet confident about what he needs to do. It’s evident in the expression of his face, the way he struggles to maintain eye contact but also looks into Leia’s eyes intensely. More than anything, it shows in the gentleness and sadness in his voice. Luke has never sounded this sad or serious, and it shows how far he’s come from the impulsive kid he once was. Leia is true to her character in this section, too. Finding out Luke is her brother is something intuitive for her, and it makes sense because the two of them have always had strong feelings for one another, but they didn’t diagnose them correctly until they found out their actual connection. (Otherwise, the chemistry between them in “Star Wars” and the kiss they shared in “The Empire Strikes Back” would not have happened.) Leia is so struck by this discovery that she begs her brother to flee the conflict instead, which shows how much she has grown from her somewhat callous approach to life. Luke is the only family she has, and while she can deal with Vader being her father matter-of-factly (meaning that in Leia’s typical manner, she understands that she can’t change her parentage and simply views Vader as evil), she can’t really bear to lose Luke. And then there’s Han, the one Leia famously accused of not caring about anything. Here, he shows he does care, in the simple gesture of taking Leia into his arms. It’s incredible the way this scene shows the way this classic trio has grown and how they now get strength from one another. It never manages to not move me. There is no way Leia would have remembered her mom, though, and that’s something the prequels messed up. I find it funny how some people comment on the plot holes in the originals caused by the prequels, as if the originals are to blame. My friends, whenever the prequels do not match up with the originals, that is because the prequels were poorly made, and not the other way around.
Yes Leia could have remembered her mom. That is how strong the light side of the Force is. The prequels never messed anything up. In fact, you can see how Leia's eyes are opened at fully receptive to her mother. You can see how Luke's eyes are closed which is possibly why he had no memory of her.
Incredibly well acted, peak moments for all three characters at once in such an amazing serene setting and such a powerful turning point in the story where Luke finally accepts his fate but not before Leia accepts the truth with grace and humanity, and finally Han lets go of his jealousy and accepts his true love for Leia. Seriously can't get through this scene without tears.
Leia is talking about padme I read an interview George did about that he said that padme is force sensitive and gave a telepathic bond to leia giving her those images their with her forever. so no it wasn't her adoptive mother she was talking about it was her real mother
azbacnikorange in a way yeah but he also mentioned when he did 4 to 6 he didn't know much about padme so that's why he only mentioned her here. He hadn't really figured out a storyline for padme
hauntedlover It's still very poor and feels like a cop out to excuse such writing. With the Padme that we have now (unless it was written differently in a book), he could have easily worked her fate out to fit along with what Leia say. Vader could still think that he killed her and she goes into hiding or something while slowly dying of the 'broken heart'. Was it truly so hard to keep up with the facts in the 4-6 movies?
It's incredibly how good the original trilogy is at implying without any exposition, it gives you just the right amount of info for your imagination to make the rest of the work.

jx592 that's prequel's bull shit. The prequels screwed all of the statements from the OT.
Alot of people, like myself believe that she isn't referring to Padme here, but Bail Organa's wife.
e115mastery Yeah, because back in 1983, in George Lucas' mind, the prequels were already established.
-Darth Vader is my father
-YOUR FATHER?!?!?!?! WTF LUKE, JUST WTF.
-And you are my sister.
-I know. Somehow, I've always known.

"There is still good in him."

cabshdun No offense meant at all, but what makes you think fans don't realize that? It's pretty obvious to me.
Jake Rittlinger No offense taken, mate. I've heard a lot of fans complain that Leia is a robot with no emotion and an example they give is that she never seems phased by the revelation that Darth Vader is her father. However in this scene, she is clearly upset over the fact. The only way I can see fans over-looking this is if they thought Leia was upset in this scene over Luke being her brother rather than Vader being her father.
cabshdun I think she's also upset because Luke plans to confront Vader, which he just told her about
I miss this young, true Luke Skywalker. His heart filled with noble intentions.

@@maxfrankow1238 very true!
Though he did choose to go Darkside.

So character growth I never really appreciated before...Leia starts the trilogy in Episode IV as this hard, closed-off woman with her shields up. By the end in scenes like this, you're seeing real human moments from her where she's opening up and actually letting people in.
This scene had so much mystery back in the 90s. The fact that Darth Vader had a wife- the way Luke looks so distraught. I always wondered what this woman would have been like.

Leia Was most Likely Remembering bail Organa Wife
Ehm, Couldn’t it be she was talking about Bail Organa’s wife?

@@alphaxan8175 which, I'll agree with and remark on 4 years after you posted this:
And that's fine.
I like the arc of Luke in Episode VIII (even tho they kinda messed it up in Episode IX because producers were like "Nooo, erase the script and do a new one based on what people say in Reddit, we need this movie to be more liked" and did... well, Episode IX), I don't understand most of the complaints.
Happy accident)
One thing I should have made more clear too:
Luke wasn't dealing with his own failings in RotJ. Vader was never his fault. Luke just needed to be Luke to 'survive.'
In TLJ, he's facing his own failure head-on.
You can stop reading there, but if you're into sports analogies:
Its the difference between playing vs coaching.

That scene still gives me chillbumps.

L U K E K I S S ME
This has always been one of my favorite scenes in “Return of the Jedi” and Star Wars in general.
Sounds like a poor excuse for shitty writing
azbacnikorange in a way yeah but he also mentioned when he did 4 to 6 he didn't know much about padme so that's why he only mentioned her here. He hadn't really figured out a storyline for padme
Damn prequels!! If Leia remembered her TRUE mother then she should live alongside her mother till she was ~8.
hauntedlover It's still very poor and feels like a cop out to excuse such writing. With the Padme that we have now (unless it was written differently in a book), he could have easily worked her fate out to fit along with what Leia say. Vader could still think that he killed her and she goes into hiding or something while slowly dying of the 'broken heart'. Was it truly so hard to keep up with the facts in the 4-6 movies?
azbacnikorange Unlike creating another Death Star
It's incredibly how good the original trilogy is at implying without any exposition, it gives you just the right amount of info for your imagination to make the rest of the work.
