This was the love story that I carelessly lived through as a teenager, never having any real life prospects in those years. The Padme of my youth never got past the "Please, don't look at me like that." stage with me.
I think Padre enabled Anakin, didn’t hold him accountable. I think the Jedi needed to do some things differently. I think Obi-Wan was too hard on Anakin sometimes. I think Hayden played Anakin perfectly, Anakin was a troubled young man with a huge weight on his shoulders.
Don't forget about her hair! I want everything Natalie's Padme was wearing and looked like! The hair, clothing design, and makeup departments definitely deserved an award.
That’s what being a former queen does for you. I remember reading Padme’s novels and she even mentions how she has to keep up appearances for the public and hence why she’s always so well dressed and polished.
it’s so hard to believe but i can see why it happened. he had a tough childhood only to loose his wife which he was so scared of losing. “fear is the path to the dark side”.
Thank you so much! You even summarized some of the dialogue which became tedious in the movie and left the beautiful scenes. I do wish you'd have left the wedding scene intact, however.
I love how here 6:56 when he after initiated the kiss and padme was deepening it he was guiding it so Bentley like he didn’t want it to end so u can see him lightly following her lips with his own 😭😭
Honestly it's not bad... Anakin is supposed to be awkward, it's the only woman he's ever liked and his first time flirting and talking through those feelings, which is hard enough for a normal person, let alone a slave that was raised as a jedi. In fact, he is actually much more socially capable than he realistically should be. ALSO, Star wars, the prequels in particular are written in a strange way, but I think that's also intentional as it is a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, not the 21st century
Anakin : You love me? I thought we had decided not to fall in love. That we'd be forced to live a lie and that it would destroy our lives. Padme : I think our lives are about to be destroyed anyway.
I used to make fun of the "sand" dialogue Anakin gives but re-visiting this scene as an adult who has been to the beach quite a few times in recent succession I do have to allow that sand indeed gets everywhere. And the poor guy did grow up on Tatooine which was all desert sand pretty much...so fair enough dude, fair enough.
11:25 idk why but anakin looks so like just out of it here. Like what she said about coming back to the real world really got him thinking. Just looks very funny to me for some reason.
Ironic that obsession would be something Zamasu would ADMIRE BIG TIME. The fallen Kai would think Skywalker would sell the galaxy to his Project Zero Mortals all for Padme
Hear me out, I know it's the geekyest shit ever BUT we are weirded out by their love scenes because we grew up with earthly love experiences. Apparently, this right here is space love
I think that with the combined spectacle of space wizard battles, the subtleties of these scenes are really lost on most people. I appreciate them, and how much work is actually put into them. People have complained about walking and talking, but they're clearly set up to be more akin to a play. I'd love to see a live play adaptation of this movie.
Or Ultra Vegito tampering with this universe by killing "Gods" like Anakin, believing that what he does will be the salvation of all mortals like Padme. Tragically Vegito would think that Anakin became the same animal as the Gods and the Tuskens and that he was never designed to look in the mirror. That the biggest sin of all "red flags" like him is existing. Such a colossal lack of empathy from the God Killer to try and put himself on Ani's shoes would potentially backfire on him. Ironically tho Vegito wouldn't do this for the sake of validating some shitass dogma

People always say Anakin and Padme’s romance scenes were so “corny.“ But true love comes off as corny, especially in the beginning. I feel like the people who make fun of their romance, haven’t experienced true love.
At 8:35 padme is very disturbed by what he just said & she isn’t stupid, she knows he meant it that’s why they broke into that awkward silence because she picked up on how he didn’t even hesitate or wavered in his belief & he didn’t seem to understand that the way it came out his mouth sounded very careless , & she’s thinking to herself “I really am glad his career is strictly militarily 😅
10:03 😳 Omg, how bad attachment to Padmé Anakin had. It’s horrifying. It’s now very clear, why he became a sith. He clarified that the more he loves her, the more he suffers without her. His fear of losing her made him want to sacrifice everything he ever had to save her from death, but he almost killed her when she refused to follow his dark path to power. I find it weird that Padmé still wanted to be with him after he slaughtered the Tuskens. Anakin became much more emotionally mature in The Clone Wars series, but still you can see that his love for her was rotten to the core. The best part is that there are plenty of people who are just like Anakin, unhealthy attached to the one they love. One should learn, that if you put your trust in you happiness through the (current) love of you life, you will be imprisoned to this attachment. If that person will want to go, you will be destroyed. Anakin pointed out directly that he’s aware of the fear of losing Padmé, which is killing him. And when he lost her, his life was over, he began a new one as Darth Vader, but we all know how it went (he actually got over her relatively quickly in the Canon, embracing his new life by being busy for the Empire all the time). If Anakin learned to let go, he wouldn’t fall to the dark side. Just as anyone, wouldn’t fall to the dark if they learned to let go…
anakin: so yeah, I should be all powerful so I can stop people from dying. also, it's all obi wan's fault and he is jealous and holding me back! also also, I murdered an entire village of men, women and children because my mother died. I hate them! and I know I should be better than this, because I am a jedi. padme's words: what's wrong ani? to be angry is to be human... padme's thoughts: I can fix him, also I love him~

What’s wrong with that? She doesn’t give af about the evil ass Tuskens who killed Shmi. What next? Leia cries for the Stormtroopers when Luke blows up the Death Star? Be real.
Anakin felt he was undermined his whole life. Always being seen as less than; finally received trust and authority. It was under the wrong hands via manipulation and deceit. Thats why he trusted Palpatine more. Once he tapped to his anger against those who looked down apon him, he enhanced his anger against the force with power and aggression as Lord Vader.
The fact that 95% of the time he was most likely using the force to get a bead on her genuine emotion & she thought she was hiding it but he’s got a literally psyche connection to her emotions 😭😭😭 it’s a good thing she don’t know
The way padme smiles at him, it really ain’t hard to understand how she got to be pregnant 😂😂 plus anakin was younger & active so he’s gonna chase after her if she teases him & he thinks she beautiful like an angel ❤
Anakin is her love interest and her friend. Anakin just lost his mother and is pouring out his raw emotions as well as confessing to a mistake he already knows he made. Of course, she is just going to comfort him at that point. He's already beating himself up enough. She doesn't need to pile on him. Are you guys socially inept or something?
What makes you think she isn’t the bad one all along? Anakin was ashamed beyond hell, but Padme couldn’t care less. She was an imperial dictator queen, and was staunchly pro-Republic that was the Empire in all but name, after all.

who even says he's creepy. He never touches or grabs her, even when he kissed her he just leaned and waited for the silent 'yes'. He never blocks the ways to pass over him and he never follows her when she leaves. After the honest and intimate conversation and after her rejection he kept his promise to never start this topic again until Padme did it herself. He was kinda surprised when she said to him she loved him, because he really had accepted that they could never be together. Could a creep ever accept a rejection? He is just being persistent in getting that particular woman, because he wants her only. He is ambitious himself, so he is ambitious in love. What a stupid thing to say that he is creepy when he is actually ambitious. And his actions are just ordinary
@@nektoincognito5339 that’s what I mean. He’s not creepy at all. In fact he’s very respectful of her feelings. People honestly treated him like he was some whiny incel when he was more than understanding and respectful of Padme’s boundaries.
@@Lunafroyo why did Hayden have to suffer so much for this role:(
"He's behaving how an early 2000s lover boy would act"
You're sure about that? I don't recall Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker acting like this towards Mary Jane, or Neo acting like this towards Trinity, Harry Potter to Ginny, etc. . Stop making excuses for Lucas's terrible writing.
Crazy to think that Darth Vader was once this guy 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 obi wan cut off his limbs that's why
easy: he's a simp
Lol you're not wrong. I grew up with the prequels, so I had always taken it for granted that Darth Vader is Anakin. But for someone who saw the original trilogy back in the 70s and 80s, I can imagine how jarring the prequels would be. Darth Vader is supposed to be this big, bad, terrifying menace, yet here he is awkwardly trying to rizz up a girl😂
the rizz moments are so realistic it hurts, makes me remember the awkward, intense affections (and attachments) I had back in the day
their chemistry on screen is so beautiful too
they actually nailed it, acting and even the writing, despite what people say
2:43 Anakin gives Padme the lightskin stare 😂
IM LAUGHING MY ASS OFF-😂
OMGGG on top of that he is a Caucasian light-skin too, it just makes it even worse😭😭
Uncool. Quit the racism.
L Rizz
LMAOOO thats what i was thiking
The way everytime he gets her to smile or laugh he smiles back in self victory like “yes I did it again, but she’s also so beautiful 😻” I love anakin he’s so pure for his love for her 😭😭🖤
The conversation in the meadow about politics, implications of the Empire to come.
Their romance was the best part of the movie.
The movie was fine. Only to watch Natalie Portman's beauty and her outfits is enough. 😁
It's the best part because it's the worst part, and therefore the most entertaining.
@@rattis I could never enjoy something I consider to be bad. Nor do I think bad filmmaking is entertaining.
Curious.
The only thing i like about thie movie are the clones
True
Anakin was a normal person. But expected to be someone else. Underrated by even the Jedi’s. No one including Padme at times found a way to relieve his sufferings. Padme adored him through and through, but at times he was alone too.
Thank you . He was never free to be himself . Even as Darth Vader . Constantly proving himself throughout the movie . The Jedi’s should have acknowledged him a little more. The tragedy of turning could have being averted
@@lucindairis1897 Unfortunately if Goku Black/Zamasu also went to SW, he'd use Anakin as an excuse to vaildate his Zero Mortal Plan even further to the point of accusing him of being the same animal he murdered aka a Tusken but in a very derogatory term. Chosen one or not a mortal's mere existence is an insult to Zamasu. And God only knows what speech of anti mortal campaign would he make in front of Anakin
Their love story will always be iconic and memorable in the Star Wars franchise. Love them both in all three prequels.
I think Hayden played Anakin perfectly, Anakin was a troubled young man with a huge weight on his shoulders.
padmes outfits & outfit changes are outrageous
wdym? i think her outfits were cute especially the yellow one she had
Earlier she had suitcases, I doubt all those dresses would fit in those
@@senatoremmaofnabooI think that's the point, it's kinda diabolical of her to wear those after telling anakin they can never be together
Anakin: The closer I get to you, the worser it gets...
Padme: Well...
then I should ask for a new jedi protector :)
The most realistic response 😂
Ultra Vegito: DID SOMEBODY SAID PROTECTOR???? (Doom music in the background)
Episode II is probably my favorite of the Star Wars films.
Same brother. I adore this movie. Wish we'd gotten a version with all the deletes scenes, they are all great
It’s the most underrated
I hated Anakin in this movie. Too arrogant.
Before he became a Jedi, Anakin starred in an episode of Goosebumps playing a goofball named Zane
I KNOW!! I smile everytime I think of that, it's so funny 😂
I cant understand how someone like anakin became a sith lord
17:48
“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering”
Honestly no matter how many times I watch these films it's still so hard to believe that he becomes Vader.
it’s so hard to believe but i can see why it happened. he had a tough childhood only to loose his wife which he was so scared of losing. “fear is the path to the dark side”.
Also he didn't belive palatine was evil he believed the jedi were like anakin put his faith in the wrong person and just snapped.
Thank you so much! You even summarized some of the dialogue which became tedious in the movie and left the beautiful scenes. I do wish you'd have left the wedding scene intact, however.
A hero would sacrifice you for the world. A villain would sacrifice the world for you
OOOOOH. Good point.
“Men, there is no sacrifice greater than someone elses.”
Anikan saved the world from the republic
Also a true hero sacrifice themselves for you and the world.
Christian did an amazing job portraying a troubled Anakin
Christensen*
Hayden Christensen you mean😂
Gosh Natalie was beautiful in this especially in the meadow scene . Thanks for uploading this
Yeah but the acting was mediocre
I love how here 6:56 when he after initiated the kiss and padme was deepening it he was guiding it so Bentley like he didn’t want it to end so u can see him lightly following her lips with his own 😭😭
You did your research
You definitely did your research and know how George Lucas felt about what he wanted because of how Anakin and Padme in bts of this relationship
Yeah plus it’s a different and new era the scenes shows Anakin is not Han Solo at all.
Anakin : You love me? I thought we had decided not to fall in love. That we'd be forced to live a lie and that it would destroy our lives.
Padme : I think our lives are about to be destroyed anyway.
AKA, who the fuck cares?
😂😂.
Still the prequels have problems
I noticed that anakin doesn't bow to Amidala, like Obi-Wan.
That’s cause Anakin doesn’t care for Amidala, he loves Padme.
The way his eyes are always on her 😭
11:25 idk why but anakin looks so like just out of it here. Like what she said about coming back to the real world really got him thinking. Just looks very funny to me for some reason.
They knew it could destroy THEM. They DIDN'T know it could destroy the whole GALAXY.
"In a galaxy torn apart by my own darkness, the only light I'll ever truly lose is you." - Anakin Skywalker
Ironic that obsession would be something Zamasu would ADMIRE BIG TIME. The fallen Kai would think Skywalker would sell the galaxy to his Project Zero Mortals all for Padme
I love Anakin and Padme
Ok
Hear me out, I know it's the geekyest shit ever BUT
we are weirded out by their love scenes because we grew up with earthly love experiences. Apparently, this right here is space love
@Im_Kinda_Cold😂 thank you for keeping it real.
Not space love, just atrocious writing. As a writer myself, I'm embarrassed that people actually ship them and like their love story.

23 minutes of anakin applying pressure… padme never stood a chance
Anakin: Sometimes we must let go of our pride and do what is requested of us.
Padme: Anakin, you've grown up.
Me: visible confusion
Shit that just made me realize why we watch these movies despite that. 😂😂
How to get a girlfriend step one
Hate sand
Tell her you hate sand
Profit
telling her you killed them all does wonders too, i’ve heard
“please, don’t look at me like that…it makes me feel uncomfortable”
If a woman said that to me I would probably avoid eye contact & conversation
Facts props to anakin then for never giving up
Especially if a woman turned out to be raised with literal axes and trained SINCE CHILDHOOD. You do NOT wanna mess with my mom for example that's Padme but even more primal than Padme primal when pushed too far
The most EPIC love story ever of Star Wars!! ❤

Hayden and Natalie improvised “aggressive negotiations” and you can tell because it’s the only decent dialogue in this whole video.

Harry potter is lame.

PERFECT TIMING
Hayden has such raw emotion in his acting.
People always say Anakin and Padme’s romance scenes were so “corny.“ But true love comes off as corny, especially in the beginning. I feel like the people who make fun of their romance, haven’t experienced true love.
I like the way he says "thats not fair" like a child
Thank you very much for this share! Much joy to you! 🕊
The deleted scenes between them added some much needed texture to this whole movie.

2:44 bro looks at her like i look at a pizza, hes ready to be a MENACE.
He looked so confused after she broke the kiss 😂😂😂 like “bitch then why’d you let me kiss you ?!” 😭😭
OMG YESS THANK YOU
At 8:35 padme is very disturbed by what he just said & she isn’t stupid, she knows he meant it that’s why they broke into that awkward silence because she picked up on how he didn’t even hesitate or wavered in his belief & he didn’t seem to understand that the way it came out his mouth sounded very careless , & she’s thinking to herself “I really am glad his career is strictly militarily 😅
10:03 😳
Omg, how bad attachment to Padmé Anakin had.

What a great comment wow
This is exactly why I became more supportive than ever on psychiatrists. The wonders they could have done to Anakin
The way Obi Wan Kenobi bows and handshakes Padme 🤝 👍 ... that's the way I greet student families at meetings and school functions 😅😊
That's because Obi Wan only saw Padme as an authority figure. Not a special someone.
@@DonOctavioSanchez but he surely had the respect not just seeing Padme as authority?

" *L I A R* "🗿🥶💀🔥
Wrong movie😭
The weirdest part about this is Anakin having all 4 limbs.

Hayden is a legend ❤
The fact that 95% of the time he was most likely using the force to get a bead on her genuine emotion & she thought she was hiding it but he’s got a literally psyche connection to her emotions 😭😭😭 it’s a good thing she don’t know
The way padme smiles at him, it really ain’t hard to understand how she got to be pregnant 😂😂 plus anakin was younger & active so he’s gonna chase after her if she teases him & he thinks she beautiful like an angel ❤
Padme reaction to this 17:48-18:18 yeah I'm into this shit.
Yeah, not the best decision there 😂 Though her action to comfort rather than condemn shows her pureness of heart and genuine desire to help others.
Am I the only one who caught Darth Vader’s theme after he told Padmé that he killed all the Tusken raiders?
What makes you think she isn’t the bad one all along? Anakin was ashamed beyond hell, but Padme couldn’t care less. She was an imperial dictator queen, and was staunchly pro-Republic that was the Empire in all but name, after all.
Hayden: "If you are suffering as much as I am, please, tell me!" Natalie: "Trust me, I am. This dialogue is excruciating." Hayden: "The worst, right?!"
What Anakin "didnt understand" is that with his potential and ability, he is going to be held to a higher standard. In martial arts, once you become a higher rank, they do the same exact thing. Its because they see something in you. They are meant to push and challenge you.
If Anakin's DNA was saiyan he'd get it
