I find the use of gravity very interesting as I believe that during the fight against ace he mentions it. He has to force people to his side rather than being their willing as you mentioned in the beginning
I think the D has everything to do with fate. I love the way you pointed out how Luffy and BB have had instances where fate could have killed them but they survived. I think that’s the main thing D represents.
I think what might separate Luffy from Roger is how they react to what the One Piece is. Roger said he was too early, he accepted that as his fate. I know a lot of people think he was too early because Shirahoshi wasn't born yet, but if that were the case, I think the rest of the crew still could have carried on Roger's will after his death. Rayleigh says to Robin, "maybe you will come to a different conclusion than us." I wonder if it is still ""too early," and maybe it always will be, but Luffy will reject that?
That's a good theory. And I hate how infrequently that line is referenced. Especially since we have heard literally nothing about ancient weapon Uranus. That said, Oden told us that the moment prophesized was 20 years in the future. So that would have to be explained away if the Straw Hats are "too early"
I like to imagine that even though Blackbeard embodies none of the D clan traits, he’ll still go down smiling accepting things they way they are. All gamblers know they can lose it all
Just got this idea, if we consider luffy and Blackbeard parallel for the location visited, 1- drum kingdom goes black beard then luffy =peace 2- impel down luffy then black beard =chaos And the invention in post time skip goes 1- Amazon lily luffy the black beard=chaos and destruction (saved by Rayleigh but still) So i think next time they meet will probably at a place blackbeard is already causing chaos that luffy will resolved by beating him
One thing that ironically lets Luffy surpass Roger is that he's not in a hurry. He's always shouting about his dream but he's not tunnel visioned at all. Any island is a location to explore with people to befriend and protect. Roger while great to his crew rode right past Tequila Wolf. He was in a hurry, for good reason, the man was dying. But still that's the biggest difference that's obvious at the moment. Roger even said it simply himself, "We were too early".
That is not entirely true. We know from Brook's, that Roger was a pirate for at least 26 years before he died, likely longer considering he did not have his mustache in Rayleigh's flashback. So he did do plenty of exploring before he started looking for the one piece. And we know that Roger and Luffy had the same dream (not to be pirate king, the other one) so the fact that it took him so long to find the one piece which was only one step in a much larger plan, means that he originally went about thing much more similarly to Luffy. If anything, Luffy's journey has been a bit sped up, considering he got Robin before he even knew what Poneglyphs were and that Crocus, Inuarashi, and Nekomamushi gave him the first Road Poneglyph and instructions about how to reach Laughtale.
@@henrypeters5291 Sure he had alot of time before the last 26 years. But the flashback with Oden shows him literally rushing through things. Getting Robin was not Luffy rushing things, it was just him getting another friend that happened to be key to the One Piece. It’s not about how fast they end up doing it, it’s about their mindset on their way to the goal.
@@LarsCaesar Fair enough on the first point. But I never said Luffy was rushing things. I said that his journey was being sped up. But I guess your overall point stands. Even though Luffy is officially in a race for the One Piece, the only people who consider it a race are Kidd, Buggy and Shanks.
This video essay only strengthens my belief that on Laugh Tale, Luffy and the gang will read the ancient prophecy and laugh because it already happened. They already fulfilled the prophecy before even learning about it.
Blackbeard always comes off as a guy who always capitalizes on any opportunity that comes his way. That's how I feel when I like to describe Blackbeard.
I disagree with the idea that the strawhats don't need a chain of command. That was the whole point of Enies Lobby imo. I think it's moreso that the chain of command doesn't always matter when they're just hanging out on the ship.

I'm still rooting for One Piece to have Blackbeard as the final giant fight to determine how the world is re-built.
He will be. He set up that way
Hmmmm, I think shanks is gonna be the final villain
@josephparkes6412 lol it's been BB or imu . He's like luffy in so many ways . Shanks and luffy will fight more than likely.

The Blackbeard stuff is awesome. But your take on Aces' death is so beautiful. I never thought of it like that.
blackbeard is my favorite character
This video is basically summed up by Woop Slap:
"Is it his dreams... or his destiny?"
Blackbeard always comes off as a guy who always capitalizes on any opportunity that comes his way. That's how I feel when I like to describe Blackbeard.
Dang. Just like his father, Ace, in his desth, helped the Age of Piracy continue to get stronger.
Great analysis
Nah because bro is actually cooking with this

What a Great theory
Im predicting a repeat of god's valley incident where blackbeard is Roxs, Luffy is Roger and Koby is Garp
Your video's are underrated
this is so good
I dont think Bb ate the fruit. His yami fruit allows him to absorb people. Its possible, he absorbed whitebeard fruit in him rather than eat it
how do you know Doc Q's apple and Whitebeards fruit have a 50/50 chance of killing? i think that's nowhere mentioned?
cool music choices btw
Nahhhh. A good theory AND made in abyss ost
You read any anarchist political theory? I get the impression it'd jive with you, or at least a lot of themes you've brought to the surface here.
