As an expert in prophetic word games "Teach my son you can be killed by no man below the sun" is just perfect for that kind of 100% true but very misleading statement since Luffy is not "below the sun" but is instead "the embodiment of the sun" which is JUST enough wordplay to fit.
As a sorta secondary thing that i just thought of watching this what if the "three witches" are his devil fruit, I know it sounds odd but hear me out, the "devil" in One Piece is always symbolized by 3 skulls just look at the "satanic" stuff where brook got sent for the time skip. now what if just like the Nika fruit his darkness fruit is hiding itself and is a Zoan the "Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Umi" the embodiment of the sea devil. his fruit being the power of the deep sea would explain some of its oddities like the fact that it seems to be made to perfectly counter devil fruits, or that when he uses his power the "darkness" seems to act as a liquid and "drips" off of him as well as rises as a mist. how does this tie into Macbeth well for that we need to look at Celtic and Gaelic mythology (which are strongly tied to the themes within Macbeth) the "three crones" in Macbeth are closely tied to Mórrígan, a fae often depicted as 3 sisters that can be young or old, her domains are darkness, war and fate, especially fates involving death and glory or those of individuals doomed to a short but eventful life who she often grants a double sided boon to. for example Macbeths whole thing with "you cant sleep so you have more time to kill your way to the top but if you ever fight a man not born of a woman they will kill you, but that totally wont happen right 😉". now that i have explained that all how does it tie into the sea devil...no idea lol. although i do think that if the 5 elders are real demons and not fruit users then maybe Umi = Imu and Imu gives off some fairly strong evil fae vibes.
The sleep thing was first mentioned by Luffy during the Drum Island arc. He called it an illness, and apparently it occurs in people on Winter Islands. And there's proof that Blackbeard came from a winter island, like how his nose is running in that one sketch, or how Blackbeard was first mentioned in an arc based on a Winter Island
Which is funny because didn't Oda say Blackbeard would be from Somalia, definitely not a winter country? Not knocking you, I like what you wrote, just made me think of origins from Oda.
Beardbeths design looks cursed and blessed at the same time. Also, I like the fact that BB sisters being cute while BB is BB is the same as charlos and his sister.
@@gabrielgoes0he did express interest in taking Law's Op-Op fruit before Bepo got him out of there, so he clearly is open to the idea of more than two fruits. It's just a matter of him coming across the right fruit user at the right time like he did with Whitebeard, but it IS up in the air whether that scenario will come up at all
@@Golden_GemI see a lot of theories that he could find or steal a Cerberus Zoan, so either that or another Mythical creature like a Hydra or something that can make use of his multiple fruit powers at once?
Buggy stumbles through the plot consistently rolling either ones or twenties, and nothing in between. He's both super lucky and super unlucky in one individual. He's Fate's pinball.
I love the theory of him having three personalities, zoro and luffy calling him 'they'. It makes his various mood swings make sense and can explain his 2 devil fruits
I doubt that Jaya Burgess were strong enough to beat Luffy. Maybe Zoro, just maybe. But not Luffy. Also, I think there might be some level of importance that the moon child Blackbeard sat crying underneath were a crescent moon. Full moons only seem to follow Luffy's highlights. We can also not forget that Roger actually explained the will of D to Whitebeard who made a note of Teach having this initial. So Whitebeard can have shot himself in the foot by making the then young Blackbeard believe he is of great importance through passing this info on to him. No one has said Blackbeard's plan started at 12, it could have been later on. When he asked to join the Whitebeard ship it was out of desperation and loneliness, it didn't seem like he was scheming at that point.
The inicial referencee to chapter 222, is a metaphor for the start of a theater play, our heroes are about to start a new adventure (jaya skypea) - (Oda uses this arc to map the entire series themes), 3 seaguls fly over the Merry, Augur shoots them (the 3 seaguls hitting the deck are the start of every theater play (3 strokes on the stage), and therefore Augur talks about fate, with is scripted on act, by the acators of a play. There is alot more culture in Oda than meets the eye.
Also Teach is not crying under the moon, that is not a moon its an iris, an eye (the eye of the fish that ate Jonas for 3 days and 3 nights), The reason its an eye is that iff the shadow of the moon before reaching the mid point in the circle has the arc in the oposite direction, look at the stages of the moon.....
That is because Blackbeard seems to be Davy Jones locker itself. (Jonas - Yonas - Yona = 22(4760)0 bounty - YO(4) NA(7) ROKU (6) REI (0), flip number 6 90º and suddenly Rocks becomes NO, YO NA NO REI (the spirit of jonas (YONA)), hes cursed because of the original sin of jonas was to defy gods command and do the oposite, so god condemn him to be swallowed by a fish for 3 days and 3 nights. (davy jones locker is the purgatory of the sea, because on the bottom of the sea no light reaches, so the souls of drowned sailor get trapped there. All of this is Dusk Dawn Theory witch is on point, and i add, that in God valley Rocks (ROKU) was condemned to davy jones locker by the celestial dragons garp and roger, his haki was so strong he woke up purgatory itself davy jones. Since purgatory is not a human entity, he never experienced feeling, so that is why his taste is so bad, why he doesn't block attacks because its the first time it feels pain, etc.. The 3 spirits that the purgatory is chasing are the divine trinity, the father the sun and the holy spirit.. His awakening is due to rocks haki, so hes tha father, the second soul his the holy spirit he was so holy he let him join his crew (whitebeard) that is what he did in marineford, the Davy jones locker absorbed whitebeards soul, and the third hes after he almost got it, shanks (the sun) (a baby at the time so THE SUN!) who seems to be the holder of the strongest haki, heir to Rocks haki. His 10 commander are the 10 damned captains!!, and by the end of the story i firmly believe our sun god MUST reach inside Davy jones locker and save the souls of Shanks whitebeard and Rocks from an eternity in the purgatory.
Does blackbeard actually think he's invincible though? How he maneuvers and schemes would point to the opposite. He outright avoids confrontation and dangerous situations unless absolutely necessary and he feels he has the advantage, while Luffy charges into every situation without rarely having a plan of action and with no fear.
He doesn’t think he’s invincible, he thinks he’s infallible. There’s a difference. He thinks that there’s no way someone could outsmart him or beat him not only because of strength but because of strategy. He knows he can be beaten physically if he messes up, he’s just so arrogant that he thinks his strength and smarts makes him unbeatable, but no invincible.
I havent watched the full video as im writing this but i feel like a neat detail to point out with blackbeard is every fight we've seen him in he always tanks the first attack before going on the offensive
prophecy certainly exists due to the Luffy being prophesied to destroy the land of fishmen. I’m 85% sure if black beard has knowledge of his fate, it was due to meeting a clairvoyant in his past, similar to Luffy
Might be a bit obscure but there was a manga (and anime) called Basilisk where one of the main antagonists Tenzen had something like a demonic twin that he absorbed in utero, which gave him regeneration powers. I wonder if Blackbeard has something similar where he absorbed (much like a black hole, although obviously he didn't have his fruit at the time) his two twin sisters in the womb, so their souls are still with him and they give him the ability to eat multiple devil fruits, but their physical body is absorbed by Blackbeard.
One of the things that I'm really looking forward to, is the explanation about why teach didn't just ask for the fruit. It's a crew of family and brothers. I would almost love it if he's confronted with that question and just conveys that he never even thought to ask for it because he most likely would have just been given the fruit if he had said how important it was to him.
In terms of sleep, Blackbeard (and the Macbeth reference) the Sword of Damocles could be a worthwhile legend to note. Having all eyes on you puts a target on you. A common motif (or theme) in one piece. Prehaps Imu stays hidden and the Gorosei keep mostly away from public eye, as to not draw ire... Maybe Morgans is the most dangerous chatacter after all
The Macbeth comparison is actually a very good insight, it reminded me of the Macbeth quote "macbeth hath murder sleep" and blackbeard doesn't sleep. So the correlations are indeed NOT a stretch
Blackbeard wants the world as Van Augur told Jaygarcia Saturn, huh? That means he would want to take the Empty Throne and become King of the World, succeeding where Rocks D. Xebec failed to do.
yes, for me he doesn't want want to be pirate king, or at least that's not his end goal, what he wants is to replace the world government ( or bring it down and let chaos ensues, depends on how you look at it)
@@Gnidel though I get the historical reasons to have Imu as the final villian, it makes more sense to be Blackbeard vs Luffy after Imu falls from power. Also if Blackbeard can eat another fruit I think it's Imus fruit he is after, which sets up even more as Luffy(Joyboy) versus Blackbeard(the new Imu). Not sure we are quite there yet. Last time we saw Leffitte was when they recruited Kuzan, and they asked him about the Man Marked by Flames. Who is one person who could access the location information on that person, if like Shiryu said they do work for the WG? Well Catarina can now become Saturn right?
Also, it seems like Blackbeard also technically "killed" Garp (we don't know if he is dead but based on this theory, I think it would fit to assume). Even though Kuzan technically did it, it's still Blackbeard's crew.
My theory for a while: To stay awake in Blackbeard's snowy country of origin, they evolved the trait to let the left and right side of the brain sleep independently while the other stays awake. Like dolphins do so they don't drown. People in snowy countries could be buried alive and die if they sleep. His 3-faced Jolly Roger is a representation of the three states of mind/brain: Left-side awake, Right-side awake, and Fully awake. Personality jumps around because of the different functions either side of the brain does more than the other. And a theory of why he can use more than one devil fruit. His large body is due to a genetic defect or his people/tribe/whatever from their snowy country. A defect or an evolved trait, developing multiple organs as a failsafe for the harsh environment. It allows him to use two DF with two organs that kind of store the genetic alteration data, with devil fruits just being an extremely advanced organic program. (I say the appendix with it being vestigial in real life. It'd be a neat "What if?" by Oda if that was the case.) Just for fun theory thinkingness.
what about devon ? and we already saw people being able to live on without their parts if cut by op op no mi.. like those pirates without hearts, kinemon without his upper body ,etc
The Macbeth and Shakespeare stuff is interesting. Another angle that occurred to me listening to you is how the witch said she controlled the winds, would give sailor sleepless nights.. Blowing the ship in every direction could give a sailor sleepless nights. And Odysseus was gifted a favorable wind, along w a bag to contain all the unfavorable winds. And they always wished sailors good winds and gods would sometimes help/hurt them w winds. Idk if BB will have trouble w winds or maybe if it's staying w Macbeth, a crewmember may have that ability to send winds? That makes me worry for Dragon actually lol.. Nah
here monkey d dragon might be the wind of destruction... who knows they can partner up to take down imu together but then blackbeard stabs the revolutionaries in the back
Damn that one image of luffy destroying the grandline made me think blackbeard stole whitebeards devil fruit for that very same purpose, a fruit said to be able to destroy the world and complete the prophecy.
My ONLY Caveat, to ANY video you EVER made was BB WAS Uncertain when Raleigh pulled up with that Haiki Bling. Side Note: Shout out the Anime for portraying Haiki in the such a terrifying way!
13:23 don’t forget that Kuzan (currently a member of the BBP) has beaten/killed Garp who was Luffy’s only family left except like Sabo and his crew if u want to think of them as Luffy’s family too
Another theory is that blackbeard will first defeat luffy and steal his fruit but since the fruit has its own will, blackbeard will get defeated by luffy and before luffy defeats him he will find one piece. since we know that DF users near laughtail gets sick or unable to land on it, balckbeard wont be able to claim it. And at laughtail. luffy will realize that the true power of one's will lie in their haki and not in their devil fruit.
Its very unlikely devil fruits can be stolen without the user being killed. Also when has luffy ever thought that the power of ones will lies in their devil fruit?
@@georockmann7113I guess you aren't much into these theories kind of thing since everyone knows about a theory that Law's fruit can revive luffy and about haki in simple words I meant that Luffy will get a new power up at Laughtail and he will be able to acess ancient weapons hence enough power to match Imu and BB.
@@georockmann7113Well, Since I made this theory so I dont care about other's opinion on it😅 But if u have watched fishman arc then in the end when luffy was about to die in the hands of shirahoshi. And luffy tells her that he doesn't mind dying as long as everyone is fine. That's a very satisfying moment in manga, so thats where I came up with this theory that it could be a potential foreshadowing.
3:28 I wonder what took his ability to sleep from him. He’s crying a lot in the image, so it’s as though he knows what it’s like to sleep like a normal person, but now he’s just not able to, and misses sleeping
@@Tzi.livez45 Thanks. It just made more sense. Cause I dont think Shanks will die at all. And yet, I dont think he will kill Garp right now. He will kill Garp when Luffy is around.
Dang…. I never put that together. BB doesn’t have any context for dreams because he never sleeps! Makes you think if he’d turn good with just ONE good night’s sleep
Maybe Imu set young Teach on his path, seeing him as a dark figure that the people would rally against, insuring continued power for the Marines and the WG?
Imu seems to hate Blackbeard though, as that scene in Reverie where they're looking over wanted posters for important characters, isn't Teech's poster ripped up, unlike the others?
THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING! Macbeth was the one story in English class that actually had my attention, and I had no idea that there were so many parallels from the 2 stories. You’re really making this 4 week break more enjoyable. Great job Liam!!!
Blackbeard reminds me a little of Judge Holden from Blood Meridian, only with a slight tinge of humanity possible. Both characters are unnatural and break norms in their respective worlds, both stated to never sleep, and both incredibly wise.
@@thalligator016 Not super confirmed but breath of all things I believe was mentioned in wano and associated with haki and literally almost word for word what Zoros master told him about cutting steel or not cutting plants.
That theory of the 3 women could also be a hint as to what were Luffy abd Zoro were talking about when they said "they" referring to Blackbeard, back on Jaya Arc. Damn.
Now this is an interesting idea. Blackbeard is Macbeth. That's the kind of thing that's gonna make me require a reread, and now I won't be able to see him any other way
0:32 - "In chapter 223, Luffy, Zoro and Nami meet and *old* man named Doc Q" At that point, Doc Q was 26 years old. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether or not that's "old".
So, if he was supposed to have a mother and to sisters, maybe they are represented in his flag, instead of being his personalities, and the they, that Zoro and Luffy say is a reference to them too, maybe they felt there presence somehow or they felt there presence inside of him.
Van Augur’s strength is not to be underestimated as he in the recent anime episodes her took down Cracker’s biscuit soldiers with his sniper rifle only. Mind you, it took Luffy’s gear 4 and appetite to take down the biscuit soldiers
One of the animator of that episode revealed in bda ( youtube channel) they try to outdo previous fights and non canon fights should not be used for powerscaling purpose.
@@sauravagnihotri8156 true and this is common with one piece. Hody vs luffy is a prime example of this. This is also leads to inconsistencies and potential plot holes in the story.
Ya know, the Macbeth correlation is pretty epic. Me-likey. Though at the same time I feel it is missing the integral element of his namesake being Edward Teach the real Blackbeard. Where Whitebeard can be correlated to Hornigold though that was a more amicable relationship with less of the crewmate killing vibe. For the killey murdering links though we can turn our eyes to one Jack Rackham aka Calico Jack having a much more ruthless style at sea. Also the Jolly Roger as we know it is associated with Rackham. Though Calico Jack had ties to Jewelery Bonny's inspiration, Anne Bonny. As Jack was Anne Bonny's captain in reality. Perhaps this is a closer tie to her dad Kuma(the tyrant). Just a thought, use it, don't use it...
Devil Fruits have a minor inspiration from Berserk. The Behelits choose their Masters and often use others to transport them. If you find one it may not be fated to be yours, you might be fated to be a transport. Shanks, Thatch, and anyone who possessed one but never had a chance to eat it are not the ones fated to eat the fruit.
Even if Luffy ate the explosive apple he probably would have been fine. His body is rubber-like after all and could absorb the force of the explosion. The fireball would do some damage but I think Luffy would take it better than the giant who drank the bomb hidden in his grog on little garden.
I like the chapter where Blackbeard said "It's Blackbeard'in time!" And Blackbeared all over Whitebeard, in which Whitebeard replied "It's Whitebeard'in time!" And Whitebearded all over the place.
I still wonder if Maynard will have a role in Blackbeard's defeat: tricking the Saber of Xebec into shallow waters, laying out sand to soak up all the blood, hiding an ambush, etc.
It's been a long standing rumor that Shakespeare was actually multiple writers under a single name, so that fits Blackbeard well. Also, I think that Blackbeard was told that killing a great pirate's inheritor would grant him what he desires. It's why he killed Thatch, Whitebeard's "Son", Ace's, Gol D. Roger's Son, and will kill Shanks, who is kind of a son of The Pirate King Also that line about being beaten by someone not woman born...once again the CrocoMom theory shows its ugly head.
I’m trying to remember, how many times has ussop been at the brink of death after a fight. Cause if it’s enough, that could be another indication that he’ll get orochis fruit
Maybe Blackbeard's Jolly Roger is a reference / link to that "3 women" theory? Maybe we will see a third and last DF to complete it, as if all 3 are helping him to achieve his final goal as well.
Most things in the story point to two devil fruits being his body, Marco saying that would make sense, but this could possibly (low probability chance) be a red herring. We seem to have the final tally for all races considering Big Mom’s 3 missing races being Giant, Oni, and Lunarian, with Buccaneer being extinct (or she combined Oni and giant making Bucaneer the 3rd). So special 2 devil fruit race is likely out. So what if Blackbeard just has a perfect understanding of devil fruits, and enough creativity to think of a trick around it. Something like “if I get the devil fruit that sucks stuff in, then it can suck in the ‘devil’ of another fruit so I can then eat two and not worry about them fighting”. (This is based off the statement that eating two kills you due to two devils fighting inside you but this is very likely to be far from the truth)
It's also important to note, we've gotten this far into the series and we still don't know of eating 2 devil fruits actually does anything. Everyone's either been not interested in or too afraid to try it.
@@nmr7203 I always did like the theory that anyone can just eat two but WG spread story to make people scared, but I think now with the Elders/Imu would have been the time to show that and if they only have 1 then I think it’s less likely that’s true
This is where Shanks is going to come in and explain what happened in his fight with Blackbeard and how he got that scar and that’s when I feel like black beers ultra persona or maybe hidden family members are gonna come out

Or alternatively, Luffy is above the sun

Nah, Buggy has been foreshadowed the whole time to be the next Pirate King.

@@ricardopacheco5892I need to hear more about this
Blackbeard thinks he is invincible but isn't. Luffy doesn't think he is invincible but actually is. Oda is amazing with his story telling
Luffy does know he has some type of devil's luck but he doesn't truly comprehend what it is
Luffy certainly acts like he thinks he's invincible
Blackbeard is just three women in costume
Underated as fuck 😂😂😂
I havent watched the full video as im writing this but i feel like a neat detail to point out with blackbeard is every fight we've seen him in he always tanks the first attack before going on the offensive
Being an actor in training and loving op watching this video was amazing
prophecy certainly exists due to the Luffy being prophesied to destroy the land of fishmen.
Some fans even speculate Blackbeard is part of a tribe of three headed people, so is not that crazy.
All for one does the same
One of the things that I'm really looking forward to, is the explanation about why teach didn't just ask for the fruit.
Maybe Morgans is the most dangerous chatacter after all
So this video made me think , can black beard win fights because he can’t be knocked out ? Is it able for him to fall unconscious?
Now that you mention it, if he can have the willpower of 3 strong individuals, then theoretically his conquerors haki should be damn near unstoppable.

Luffy and Blackbea4d are the 2 luckiest people.
Buggy, "oh really? Buggy D. Clown would beg to differ."
Blackbeard wants the world as Van Augur told Jaygarcia Saturn, huh?
That means he would want to take the Empty Throne and become King of the World, succeeding where Rocks D. Xebec failed to do.
It would be a great way to consolidate World Government and Blackbeard into a single final boss.
yes, for me he doesn't want want to be pirate king, or at least that's not his end goal, what he wants is to replace the world government ( or bring it down and let chaos ensues, depends on how you look at it)
@@Gnidel though I get the historical reasons to have Imu as the final villian, it makes more sense to be Blackbeard vs Luffy after Imu falls from power.
Yes thats makes more since
Also, it seems like Blackbeard also technically "killed" Garp (we don't know if he is dead but based on this theory, I think it would fit to assume). Even though Kuzan technically did it, it's still Blackbeard's crew.
My theory for a while:
To stay awake in Blackbeard's snowy country of origin, they evolved the trait to let the left and right side of the brain sleep independently while the other stays awake.
It'd be a neat "What if?" by Oda if that was the case.)
Just for fun theory thinkingness.
Law should've just used room and testicular torsion. It should have defeated the entire Blackbeard crew
what about devon ? and we already saw people being able to live on without their parts if cut by op op no mi.. like those pirates without hearts, kinemon without his upper body ,etc

If those who aren’t born from a woman can defeat Blackbeard then that means it will be the Seraphim that beat him. Change my mind

Blackbeard is asleep. The One Piece world is entirely Blackbeard's dream. The Void Century was just a time that he was awake.
It’s a good thing BB doesn’t sleep cause if he did he would always have nightmares of WB saying “ you’re not him “
Bet it’s going to be revealed that Imu has been playing his part as the monster to make the fated return of Joy Boy happen.
Imu seems to hate Blackbeard though, as that scene in Reverie where they're looking over wanted posters for important characters, isn't Teech's poster ripped up, unlike the others?
Weirdly Black Beard not sleeping is exactly opposite of Luffy having a narcolepsy

It's the darkness fruit. I truly believe it chose Blackbeard and just wanted BB to prove he'd do anything for the power.
If that's the case then the nika fruit really did pick shanks not luffy
The translation interpreted that chapter a bit differently, it said something about getting much higher.
@@ArtemyMusha Oh? I for sure know that Whitebeard also proclaimed "THE ONE MOOOORB! THE ONE MORB IS REAAALLL!"
Roger's Son, and will kill Shanks, who is kind of a son of The Pirate King
Also that line about being beaten by someone not woman born...once again the CrocoMom theory shows its ugly head.

BB kills Shanks(family tragedy) while Garp chills in his basement.
Ahhh, what if Blackbeard himself is the formation of a dream? And is why he can’t sleep, because he’s the creation of someone’s dream.
I also like the theory that Lord of the Rings also borrows from MacBeth but with Tolkien's own interpretation of the witch's prophecy.
Family being murdered as Shanks is a bold statement with Garp currently down on Hachinosu
3:39 most famous dream alive. Maybe Teach doesnt wanna dream cause he wants to make Xebec dream a reality 🤔🙄🤔
Didn't Blackbeard say it was too soon when luffy being the 5th emperor news came out, which means he already knows what's gonna happen to luffy
Maybe Blackbeard's Jolly Roger is a reference / link to that "3 women" theory? Maybe we will see a third and last DF to complete it, as if all 3 are helping him to achieve his final goal as well.
If Oda-sama is having a three week break, then I need to get my one piece fix from somewhere
"Fate is also cheating on luffy with blackbeard" was a great line that made me laugh out loud.
With Liam having a theater background I am surprised he was able to say Macbeth so many times without something horrible happening
