@@michaelabercrombie5744 Missouri so a pretty decent trip for me as well lol. None of the shops around here take the time and set the bows up properly like he does.
Josh cool vlog really nice bow Mathews came out with the V3X. I am interested in shooting one for sure. Just one question to ask you I am a 27.50" draw length which bow would you recommend for me. Keep up the great work buddy!!
In your reviews... The Prime (correct spelling) Inline 3 and 5 seem much quieter. Those were #60 lb bows tho... That bridgelock almost has me sold. But I am not buying a new rest.... ever. Got a Hamskea Trinity that I will build bows around. Awesome reviews MFJJ.
So out of all of the 33” or close to in the new 2022 models, is the V3X-33 your favorite so far? I have a V3-31 and I think the draw cycle is exceptional. Both 30” draw with the 70#, 85% let off mods. I think there’s a world of difference but maybe all of the integrated parts which I am definitely using makes some sort of difference. What are your thoughts?
Thank you for the great content. I am curious if you think there would be a significant difference/gain if I went from the Atlas to the V3X 33. My draw length is exactly 31.5". Thanks again for the great videos and reviews.
Do you ever plan on testing the darton spectra e ...if ya carry them that is I watch all your videos..that would be a bow video I'd be interested in ...thank u
great review, thank you sir. Could it be possible to get the serving specs of the V3X 33''; I have orderd mine and would like to finish my strings set before it arrives in europe.
some good new features - I don't know why they stick with the old fashion "cross concentric system" without just putting a knob on the yoke bearings so you can change the yokes without having to take the whole cams out ....this bow with the new inline cams from Prime would be the real deal for me....
What’s the difference in riser length between the Traverse and V3X 33? I think you said somewhere here the MBG dovetails don’t fit? Is that true? I’ve got 2 Traverse I really like, do not need another bow but the new 33 is REALLY pulling on the heart strings.
So I’ve heard Black Gold will not work with Mathews new system but I saw were they offer a regular dovetail mount instead of the wingtruss do you know if it will work?
Hi, I have a draw length of 29.13" and am considering the V3x 33. For Deer/ boar hunting from tree stand or stalk. I am 6.0 ft tall. So I am thinking would it be a too long ATA? I have tried a shorter v3x, liked it and I am just getting started.
Imo, they finally listened to the customers. The Traverse has been an absolute stellar shooting and selling bow, even used prices are amazing still. They seriously needed to bring that size of bow back… and they did. How would this bow compare to shooting the Traverse in your opinion? I have a Traverse btw.
Addicted to Archery....I too owned a Traverse, and I too, was wondering the same you were inquiring about. So....I went to my local shop and shot the V3X in 33" ATA and here's what I got out of it. I used a wrist strap type release b/c I hadn't yet started my journey into handheld thumb button releases. Anyways, both were very very similar in the noise department....whisper quiet. Far as recoil, Traverse had a bit less, but not much. The biggest difference TO ME was draw cycle....and it, even though most notable, wasn't much. The V3X had a bit better draw cycle, but not enough to trade the Traverse off for one. That being said, had someone offered me a deal I couldn't turn down, then yes...V3X.
One last thing that's definitely, IMHO, giving the V3X the nod over the Traverse is the switch weight technology, "built in" machined into the riser places "in-line" for sites, quiver,& rest. And the SAS stay afield system.
@mfjj, Have you had any customers have a problem with the bridge lock screw not threading properly? I just got my bow and that screw only goes in about two turns. Curious to see if you’ve seen that in your shop too..
I’d really like to know if anyone at Mathews ever actually hit that marked IBO speed when they designed this bow or if they and most if not all other manufacturers are just blatantly lying.
the standard fudge factor that is forgivable to most is around 5 fps, but they do shoot bareshafts when rating and most folks on youtube use vanes i back calculated the ibo on my bowtech revolt by weighing everything, etc. and it was 320 fps ibo on comfort. it is rated at 335 fps on performance mode, which typically adds 10 fps. so, i consider that close enough that i don't have buyer's remorse yet.
People don't typically understand what IBO actually is. IBO standard speed spec is based on 80# (+/-2) Draw with 400 grain arrow with no specific draw length. Therefore, a manufacturer can crank it to 82# @ 33" draw, and record that speed. Its very misleading. ATA actually is closer to what we are used to, the typical 70# 30"/350. But there is no governing body really for either, so they can fudge their numbers as much as they want.
@@win300mag1 sure thing. Glad to help. Plus also consider that Manufacturers post IBO rather than ATA because the way IBO is set up, they can naturally get higher numbers, therefore this becomes a marketing gimic. This is why none of us can ever hit these stated speeds claimed by them.
I’m stuck between Mathew’s and bow tech. I can’t make my mind up and I don’t have a pro shop within 2 hours of my house. So looking to just buy one online and send it.
Do you ever account for the whisker biscuit or doesnt matter much for speed? Im really intrigued with this and the PSE 33’s. I have a RX-1 32” now…and i want a longer 33 or 34” ATA. I have a 30” draw and hunt at 29 5/8” basically…want a better string angle and more forgiving brace height…plus the Rx-1s draw cycle and cams are just not forgiving at all compared to todays newer bows and cam systems. Its a great bow though
But they removed Stone, which tastes aside had a better, less rough finish. I was this morning in a competition in which was 5 Mathews (a blue Conquest 4, two TRX 40, one TRX 38 and one TRX 36) and all the TRX were Stone, and for a good reason (dark gray matte shade which looks almost black under some light and smooth finish).
@@drested1793 Well, seems that is more expensive to paint in Stone than in Granite or Ambush Green, so they removed it. I also don't understand why they are calling "granite" (which usually denotes a grey/white/blush rock) a color which si more like a military tan shade.
For your money. Which bow would you buy. Ventum Pro 33, Mathews VX3 33, or the SR350?? I currently shoot a Bowtech Reign 6 and a 520 grain arrow. 28 inch draw at 70lbs
I’d shoot them all and pick which one feels the best at your draw length etc. I went and shot the ventum pro 30 up against the V3X 29 and the V3X 33 and honestly that ventum pro had slightly less vibration after the shot and the draw cycle seemed barely smoother. My draw is 28.5 which I’m not sure if it makes a difference. I’m debating on which one I want to go with, they’re both awesome bows!
Get your hands on a Elite Envy if you can. 7 inch brace height 33 inches with a 350 ibo. ( Most hit 343 to 345) Was supposed to be a run of 1000 but Kevin Strother was only able to make around 330 of them. Mine hits over ibo because I found some hot limbs but you want a good hard hitting long range bow then find one.
@@archer3181 Slowest Envy I ever came across was 342-343. Some were over ibo. Most of us Envy guys know or know of eachother as we swap or sell eachother parts and only about 330ish were made.

Hmm, not a huge amt of changes or inovation. Was hoping for a big change. Be a good bow if you need a new one, just not worth upgrading from my VXR IMO. I do like the dovetail mount, the darn setscrew is always dinging the quiver unless you have a small one. Maybe also offer a higher poundage bow.
LOVE my V3X 33... Hands down the best bow of 2022 of all the brands I shot before buying one. Nothing else felt anywhere near this solid and stable and the lack of vibration is unreal. Uncool opinion but I prefer my BEAR Divergent EKO to all the Non-Mathews stuff I tested out before I bought the V3X... IMO BEAR still makes the highest value bow around and Mathews is just doing the most innovation in places that really count to me.
Did I miss where you actually measure the draw weight? I hear you say the weight but never show an actual measurement. I see you crank down almost every bow you test as they are all a little high by 1-3%. Whats the actual draw weight of this bow? I came here after I watching your Bowtech x80 review and you say 1/10th off the bow weight for the whisker bisket vs 2/10ths here. Why the difference with the Mathews review?
V3X 33 had a max draw option on 31.5” according to Mathews site. Not sure where he got the 27” spec from. Nonetheless, exciting platform, can’t wait to shoot.
Why on earth would you have a whisker biscuit on that bow? Other then a nice rest for a beginner it’s a joke. It’s also slow and loud. Lancaster archery put a black gold dovetail into that bow with no mods.
I can assure you they did not try it. I know their video says they did but I just got done machining down the original dovetail black gold to make it fit. They only offer 2 options and neither fit. Think lancaster does a great job but they overlooked that 1 part
