    I appreciate your video very much. I watch them all that's how I chose to get my bowl this year. And once again we have Matthews lying about their speed. They should change their slogan from catch us if you can't don't leave us in the dust.

      They all lie dude! PSE was 14 FPS if the IBO, the Hoyt last year was almost 20 FPS off IBO on some tests. All bow manufacturers exaggerate to an extent but they all seem to shoot are 6-8 FPS if each other which you would not be able to distinguish between 8 FPS difference.

    The string angle should, and did, look steep as you shot the V3X. Caused me to wonder why, since bow companies offer different axle to axle lengths in the same bow, someone hasn't done a review showing the different string angles at different draw lengths. Something to consider at your end. Thanks for the review.

    Check the actual draw lengths on a draw board!! That is the only thing missing from your reviews and is a very important measurement, especially when comparing apples to apples.

    Great review! I'm looking to move away from my 2020 PSE Xpedite due to such a short brace height and limited options for rests. After viewing a few of your bow reviews this bow has my interest. Looks like it may be a great fit for a sub 5'7" shooter. Keep up the great work!

      I'm 5'-9" and shot the 29" today. I'm brand new to compound archery, But the thing felt phenomenal. I have only shot a switchback, bowtech solution SS, and hoyt helix, But this v3x 29 felt better than all of them. I came home to think about it overnight, But there was no need. It's the obvious choice for me. Even if there may be something better out there, this this feels as comfortable as I could ever want, So I'm going back in the morning to buy it. It was set at 65# and it had an easier draw than the switchback at 60# and pretty much equal draw as the solution ss at 58#. I truly don't think anyone could go wrong buying this bow. Hope this helps.

    Good morning Mr Jones, wondering if you could help me? I have a Mathews v3x 33 and the yoke cables are leaning more to one side. When I measure axle to axle on each side, one side is 33 inches, other side is 33 1/8 inches. Is there a fix for this and will this cause my bow to have a whip? Thank you, your channel rocks

    I’ve noticed that all the bows he has checked has been a little over 10 fps off. Maybe he needs to recalibrate his chronograph. No matter how good a brand sometimes you just need to do some recalibrating or maybe the chronograph is just off. Mathews, Hoyt, and others I’m sure have an industry standard when it comes to checking bow speed. It would be awesome to get with one of the companies and see how they get their IBO speeds.

  • @usmcfrommt9790
    @usmcfrommt9790 2 роки тому +3

    IBO rating says “up to” 340. IBO is tested at the bows max capacity which would be with the 75 lbs mod. ATA rating is constant and would likely rate this bow at 330.

    • @johnnyboi5661
      @johnnyboi5661 2 роки тому +3

      Hoyt and Matthew can definitely shoot their IBO speed if they were shot at maximum capacity poundage, but 70 pounds is usually the weight everyone shoot at only. 350grain arrow, 80 pound limbs, 80% let off with 30 draw, yeah I’m confident that arrow will hit 340fps, if not over.

      Well because 1 APA is in canada, 2 they started making bows in 2002 so getting big enough to compete with the big names takes time.. Not to mention most of the major advertisers are getting kickbacks from the big bow companies. APA is a family business where they’re attention to detail, quality and customer service can’t be beat. You can test drive their bows where they’ll ship one right to you.. There are more distributors popping up all the time as well…. Side note, Ive called them up multiple times over the years and the owner himself actually picked up the phone…

    Btw, do you measure the DL on the bow before speed test or trust the numbers? I have to run C mod on V3 31 to get 30" draw. If the bow's couple fps slow on ½" extra DL then that doesn't sound too good.

    • @Life-of-Bluegrass_Music
      @Life-of-Bluegrass_Music 2 роки тому

      Mathews isn't 1/2 long. Mathews is ATA measured from back of grip. IBO is measured from front of the grip.

    • @smau990
      @smau990 2 роки тому

      @@Life-of-Bluegrass_Music Yes using ATA standard mathews bows measure roughly 1/2" longer than module chart says. My V3 came actually closer to 30 5/8" with B module originally. ANYWAYS my point was since Mr. Bow-Bro here is so happy with the tape measure I guess draw length would be kind of relevant thing to check while at it.

    I have a general question for someone that is new to bow hunting in general. I am looking to get my first bow, the question I have is do i need a right-hand or left-handed bow because I am left eye dominate but right handed. I know this probably isnt the right place to ask this question, but i havent really found anywhere that i could get an answer. I know from my time in the Army the difference between shooting a rifle is between a marksman vs an expert shooter. If it matters im in the southeastern US so it would be the smaller whitetail that i would mainly be hunting.

  • @ronbailey3920

    Hey, Ron here, I have the V3-31! I’ve taken 3 nice Bucks this past year for South Carolina standards. I’m 76 and I’ve shot competitively many years ago on the ASA tour. I hate this damn bow! I shoot 30.5” draw at 60 lbs. it is so hard to draw. I like a bow that is smooth and you almost have to push the string to make it go off! I’ve thought about the Bowtech SOLUTION SS but I’m not sure about the 30” axle to axle. I don’t know how I killed 3 bucks with this bow because I have difficulty putting 3 arrows in the 10 ring at 20 yds consistently while practicing! Sorry to go so long but do you have any suggestions?

    I have a question for ya. I have the X29 and it has quite a bit more vibration and it's louder than my V3 27 and VXR 28. The bow has been tuned and I've checked everything on the bow 4 times to make sure everything is tight. I've taken everything off the bow and it still does it. In my experience some bows of the same make and model have vibration and some don't. Nobody can explain it and Mathews just says take it to your dealer. Now I've read some people are having the same experience as me and some people say it's completely dead and whisper quiet so it has to be different from bow to bow. Have you ever experienced this and was able to fix the problem? Hope you have an answer for me. Thanks

Also, do you know if the new cams can be purchased separately and installed on a V3 27 to add the bow press feature? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.......Brad, Endwell, NY

Don’t get me wrong Mathews makes good stuff, but they’re not “the best” and the majority of companies sure as hell don’t copy them, Especially APA… Mathews haven’t done any real innovation in quite a few years.. They’ll claim to make a bow with a crazy short axle to axle but then throw on gigantic diameter cams which bring the strings right back out to standard axle to axle dimensions. The bows quite often need a good amount of tweaking from the factory to get tuned as well. I know some guys who own bow shops who aren’t big fans at all.. Then let’s not get into advertised speeds vs actual… But hey it’s just like cars.. You got diehards for ford and chevy and ones for honda and toyota….

    Seems there aren't many bows that actually meet published speeds. Saw a video in Australia where the Elite Remedy was faster. Why these companies feel the need to do this is money. Makes one wonder what they are doing different than what you did with spec set up? Twist the string shorter 4-5 turns. Shoot it after it was in the freezer? Use a $5000 chronograph? Anyway, looks like another great hunting hunting bow no matter the math. Speed going down anyway as no one shoots a 350 grain hunting arrow pulling 70#s, I hope. IMO

    All these bows are not short of advertised speeds your just not testing them under the same IBO parameters. Your using ATA standards trying to achieve IBO speeds. Not the same.
