Hey everyone, a viewer messaged me to say that he wasn't able to hear the audio on this. He said several people were having the same issue. I can't figure it out, as it sounds find on my end -- if you are having problems hearing it, I think the issue might be that the video is muted -, you might have to click to unmute it!
Works just fine here 🎉Thank you!
Working fine in Sapulpa OK 👌
Works good in Wisconsin!
It's playing fine now!🎉
Your audio mastering is spot on 99+% of the time, (one of the best YT channels in this regard, IMO) but when you interview people, often there is a large difference in loudness between you (being closer to the mic) and the interviewee, who is twice as far away from the mic. This makes them half as loud as you , and for those of us listening in front of noisy swamp coolers, we may need to jockey the volume control to hear you and the guest with equal intelligibility.
Who wants to see Sarah dressed up in fish nets and a corset in the mucking contest for next year's Goldfield days? Show of hands 🙋🏼♀️
I do
👋🏼👋🏼🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️😃😃
Me
Corset and fishnets and nothing else? And nothing else, right? Where's the line?
👌✋️👀
Hope you enjoy the antique couch!! I'm the one who sold it to you! Great video! Thanks for covering the event for more people to learn about it! Great content!
Last time I was in Goldfield back in 1973 there was an old non-running copcar with a dummy that greeted you upon entering Goldfield from the south. Seems drivers ignored the speed limit signs so they parked the old cruiser in full view of speeders entering Goldfield. It was quite a sight to behold!
You don’t get out much do you? 1973 WTF?
HEY THERE! OWNER OF THE MOHAWK CLUB/BAR HERE 👋👋...WE ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ONCE A YEAR BUT WE DO HAVE A SIGN UP TO BECOME CLUB MEMBERS AND WILL OPEN THE BAR BY REQUEST!!! WE ARE WORKIN ON OPENING UP MORE OFTEN ATM. Thank you so much for coming by we were delighted to have you and are excited for your return! THANKS AGAIN
Wonderhussy Sarah has evolved into a cultural documenter and explorer of the far SW American basin. Stegner,Abbey and the rest would be proud.
And of course Huell Howser!
All I know is that Sarah Jane is a National Treasure 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 and she always makes this old man smile 😊🫶🏻😊🫶🏻😳🫶🏻
Why was there no mention of Virgil Earp? Love your videos ❤
What a cool place for Sarah to visit! Honoured Guest was a well deserved title. 🎉
Taken by surprise. Otherwise it would have been a great get up of clothing. Next year for sure. Of course, old west (authentic as it were) and not aliens.
Best Goldfield Days I've ever seen. Saw this celebration on Tecopa Mines channel first and then right here with Wonderhussy, Ross and friends! :) Happy to support the public radio station and buy the spare gold floating around the area. Cheers!
Goldfield was the location of much of the film Vanishing Point filmed on the early 1970s. It was where the disc jockey scenes were filmed. VP is a great car movie with Barry Newman.
It is a great film. The Viggo Mortensen remake wasn't too bad either. I like Viggo, but in this case, I prefer the original movie.
I first heard of Goldfield when I saw the 1971 movie Vanishing Point. It was great to see Wonderhussy provide a tour of this historical town.😎
The towns been in multiple movies. In 2007 Rowdy Roddy Piper the Wrestler of WWF and WWE did Ghosts of Goldfield
Ok, now you have officially won me over. For an antique car guy like me, you riding in a parade as the honored guest at this hootin nanny in an old Ford Model T truck takes the cake. You are the best on you tube with your homespun humor and naturally funny charm Sarah. You keep getting better all the time. I don't know how you find all this mirth and wonderment in the most isolated places.
Best
Comment!! 🤍
@@Elhastezy888 : this is certainly one of my favorite WonderHussy comments of all time !!!! Homespun humor says it all , for our truly charming Sarah !!!!
Smart commentary is always better than swearing.@@kenbrown438
I already knew you were one gutsy gal, but to follow Bob over to our 5th wheel to meet us, was down right brave. Ha ha! It was the highlight of our time in Goldfield! Thank you for coming by, it was a pleasure!
Goldfield Hotel is one of the most haunted in America.
Nice, friendly people there. Thanks, Wonderhussy.
Dang...Goldfield just made the shortlist for my dream tiny house in the desert. Excellent video! PBS worthy!
Now that's a great fun times town . Looks like a combination of performance art , theater , music and people that know how to enjoy life . Thank you Wonderhussy for posting another great adventure video.
and at least one rube, you forgot the rubes.
@@ijuggle42 oh my goodness I have so many wild fun picture this scripted caretures running through my mind now ,HA!!! A town where no negative trolls allowed just positive families first people
What cool old town! Been thru it several times, but because of time constraints, was never able to stop and check it out. Once again, Wonderhussy comes to the rescue!
For some of those who remember, Goldfield is where much of the move "Vanishing Point" was filmed.
Sure, sure that’s the reason you didn’t stop… 😂
I want to go there 👍💛👍
You deserve the honored guest status. You're becoming a Nevada institution. Right up there with the Hoover Dam and the Chicken Ranch.
I live in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, I couldn’t get a gravesite for $1700.
As I was listening to your commentary and coverage of the Goldfield days event, I couldn't help thinking of the late Hugh Howser. He would have loved to have covered this because of the plenty of people to talk to and to interview, but then he would have had to renamed it 'Nevada Gold'....Great job, take care and travel on !!
I think you're absolutely right!!
Especially the name lol 🤍
And I believe Mr Huell woulda loved the huss as well
He scoured and traveled all over the State of California, but Nevada not so much…
It WAS fun Sarah!
Honored Guest! Hoot hoot hoot!! Your shows get better each week. Great production values, well done all around!
Thanks to the people of Goldfields for recognising the benefits your attendance will bring to the town. Win Win.
Great show. You gave this little town a big bump in a way that only you could do. Lesson: hold your expectations loosely and be open for unexpected fun.
I do ⛏️💜
Well done😊
Well said! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Another fun installment of Wonderhussy! Thank you!
TRULY AMAZING! Thanks, Wonderhussy!
Another great show! Thank you.
I might have to come to goldfield next year for their celebration.
A 1923 Ford model T C cab (truck) !!! What an honor to ride in such a rare vehicle !!!
This was very enjoyable to watch. I’ve been a couple times but when everything was closed and not a single person in site. While that is fun, seeing certain buildings actually open is a hoot. Goldfield with people looks fun!!!
What a cool & quirky town! Love your videos ❤❤❤
Wow! Gotta love Goldfield Days. Count me in. This reminds me of my childhood days in my old hometown in the late 1950's. You can't beat country living and honest, fun people. Well at least fun people. LOL I hope they use WH's voice in the local radio station. That would be awesome driving through town and hearing her announce the radio station over the airwaves. "Wonderhussy here on Radio Goldfield".
What an amazing experience! I miss Goldfield. I love it there. Thank you for bringing us along!
Your parade wave is so good
That was soo cool.. Thank you... I've driven through Goldfield dozens of time and had no idea how special that truly old western town really is.!
Big Huell Howser energy in this episode, keep it up, Hussy!
WoW!! Such a great time - it definitely makes you want to be sure to attend Goldfield Days next year. Well, EVERY year !
Great video. Goldfield is a nice place to visit, but not the same without Bryan Smalley!! RIP
Great post ! Reminds me of the old PBS Huell Howser location shows....even better than Rick Steves as well!!! Sarah you continue to amaze us all!!!
You are the sweetheart of that rodeo! Nice coverage
I love these old towns!!!
Sound was fine for me. I LOVED the Video. How great that we are able to go along with you on these GREAT trips...that many of us older guys and gals ( I'm 71 ) are no longer able to do! Thank you so much, and your channel is definitely worth supporting! It's a REFRESHING change from all the negative news we are being fed on a daily and hourly basis!
I really enjoyed this Goldfield Days celebration with Sarah and fine town folks. Seems like the kind of place I might settled down in.
No real Grocery Store for 100+ miles in either direction… Pahrump Nv has the Closest
@@princessunicorn669 i suspect water is an issue as well.
@@NomadicBrian As to that I can’t say, I haven’t stayed overnight in Goldfield personally, but I have stayed many days a short ways south in both the Town of Beatty and also in Tonopah a short ways North…both seem to have plenty of Water.
@@princessunicorn669 I know Sarah and her sister have to haul water to their compound. That would be quite a challenge not to have all the water you need from any faucet in your home. People find a way if they want to live remote.
Sooo much fun...Great time...Thx for taking us along...👍😎
I found Radio Goldfield a few years back. I’m always seeking out some weird and quirky radio station. It definitely fits the bill. I called Carl to request some songs. I told him about Mike Nesmith and that he would fit their format. He never heard of Mike Nesmith before. I mentioned that he was in the Monkees. So I sent him a couple songs. He did play them. A friend of his called the station while he was playing them and told him that Mike Nesmith was in the Monkees. Come on Carl! 😅 As per usual… I taught a DJ some new music.
This has got to be one of your best videos and soundtracks. And with your special guest Ross
That 2-lane highway is so scary especially at night brother in law died on it back in the 80s in 2005 I counted more than 50 roadside memorials too many so I stopped counting
Thanks for the heads up. That's what US93 (I11-ish) used to be like, between Phoenix and Las Vegas. I still see new monuments, but nothing like before. since it's gone mostly 4-lane. I'm sorry for your loss.
Wow. very sorry to hear 💔
What a awesome town and people!😊
Most the people in attendance are visitors for the event…normally it’s dead there in that town and you rarely see signs of life if your just driving through usually. 🤷♀️
Wow WonderHussy! To be the 'Honored Guest' in Parade, you've come a long way Baby!
I have driven through it a few times. Stopped at the Goldfield Hotel and looked inside for some ghostly residents. Didn't see any. Nothing there, so I drove down to the great metropolis of Tonopah.
Fun video! You really seemed happy. I love to see Happy Wonderhussy.
This was really fun and interesting! Been a trucker for half my life, and always was interested in Goldfield. But, always on a schedule and never stopped. Thanks WH!
You should move there permanently 👍👍😃
@@princessunicorn669 You are right … I should …. !! :)
We’re looking forward to see what costumes you wear next year! 😹
What a blast! Looks like a sht ton of fun out there in the desert!!
What a fun event. I'd like to go.
I’m going to have to go next year, thanks for sharing your adventures.
Sarah, you had me bustin a gut laughing when you gave it to the radio host for interviewing himself, and not you! 🤣🤣🤣 Right...In...His...Face! 🤣🤣🤣 If you promote this in advance for next year, we should all attend so we can meet in person, the "Honored Guest", our beloved Wonderhussy.
You are our new & present version of Huell Howser Great job WonderHussy
Great video Sarah! That looked like a lot of fun!
Goldfield is a goldmine of potential stories for Wonderhussy to tell. Someplace in the middle of nowhere. Fun times. Your new settee will be a great place for lounging. Stay safe Sarah.
this I must say was a total blast awesome adventure love the content stay safe
Great installment, Wonderhussy. I bet you had kittens editing that episode. Ya done good, kid.
Yeah right ..... "armpit kittens"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks like y'all had a really quirky good time!!
That looked like a very fun day. Glad you got to enjoy it and so glad you shared it with all of us!
Wonderhussy you truly are the fabric of AMERICA .
another great video, the town looks like a really great place to stop & visit! no prob with the sound on this end & the editing is top notch!!
If your video doesn't bring in more folks for next year, nothing will. 🤩
This story line IS PRICELESS !!!!
Wow, what a production, and a lot of work.
Wow fun town everybody seems so nice you will definitely have to dress up in your Miss wonderhussy outfit next year 🤠✨
Dang Girl, this is one of your best videos to date and you have a plethora of good ones...Thanks for doing what you do !!!!!!
Great video. Love Ross. Safe travels.
A true gem in Nevada. Along with this video. Great work on covering the festivities!
Thank You so much for all your hard work. I love everything you do.
Another fantastic adventure. Loved the video great job. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
You went out there with your kind of people, salt of the earth.
That was an amazing experience!! No problems with the sound.
Hey @Wonderhussy, Just thought I'd drop in and let you know that I really enjoy your story-telling and presentation talents. I don't comment often because I usually watch UA-cam on my TV (which doesn't let me comment). Anyway, Carry on; I wish you much success in your adventures and endeavors. You Rock! P.S. This video, kinda, makes me want to move to Goldfield Nevada. :)
Hey Sarah...you are the new California & Nevada, etc. Gold show. Hugh Howser was great, and forged a path for someone to follow, and that's YOU ! Btw: Please check out Newberry Springs ( & lakes ), fed by undergound aquifers, in the middle of the desert outside of Barstow,Cal. They are Incredible. They hold water skiing championship team practices there! Can you believe it?
Expression @23:26 out done by expression 6-seconds later @23:32 - absolutely comical🤣 And the video of this town has me thinking about Goldfield Days 2024 - love the cars.🚙 Thanks for the extra sunshine 🌞 in my day Sarah, U R D best. ♥
SEE YA DER ✌
Don't forget..Hot August Nights was going on too. That took some of the local old cars away..Although lots of show cars on trailers passing through . adding to the show
It just can't get more American than this. I love this video. Thanks!!!
Yep...drove past Goldfield several times en route to the northern frontier of the infamous Clown Motel..Carson City..Reno..Hwy50.. Great historical tidbit of another mining town...
This was great. I really enjoyed watching more than one UA-camrs version of the same event! Awesome. Thanks
What a great video, and would love to go to Nevada. Lived here in Texas my whole life, enjoy all your videos Wonderhussy AND What a Kool little town.🤙🤙
What a great adventure. I love those old historical towns!
What a great party! Sounds like the place to be in the first part of August... Thanks for the great video!
When ever I go climbing on the Eastside....I listen to the Goldfield radio station. Its awesome!
I saw the one legged miner's video a couple days ago, looks like y'all had a great time....
There are parts of the USA where real estate isn't worth much. I used to own a property in PA. I sold it for very little and was happy to do so in order to "stop the bleeding" of property tax payments.
Looks like a great time I'm going to put it on my calendar for next year hope to see you there !
good gosh, what a hoot!! thanks Wonderhussy!!
Great video, that was so much fun to watch, so many many nice people in this town doing cool things in this good community. No wonder some are buying land to move there. And by the way: Is that Mr. M walking through the picture from right to left between 25:30 and 25:40 ?
To be extremely honest here, it is things like this.....the little towns and the everyday simple life people,,, that keeps the extreme pride of being an American well planted inside of me. While there are rude nasty corrupt people in other parts of the country, these people,,,,like these at Goldfield, that keep the true real heart of this great country beating strong.
To cool. Couple of awesome days. So many interesting individuals. Thanks for taking us on another epic adventure.
I have been a big fan of you and your videos dating almost back to your first ones. This is the best one you have ever done!!!!! Keep doing what you do, your the best on u tube.
A ride in that old car would be worth the trip to town for the parade. What a gem. ( I bet counting cars would love to
refurbish it like new )
Great job Sarah I visit gold field often what a cool little town
Goldfield is such a cool little town.
Where America is still great.
Yet another top notch YT video by the Mistress of top notch YT videos. Well done Sarah.
Great video !! 👍🙂 Told my friend Jon Aurich that the town of Goldfield is on my "Bucket List" and also touring the Florence and Rustler 2 gold mines outside of town. Looking forward to more videos in the future. 😉
