Volunteer cabins are such feel good videos. Seeing the combined efforts of hundreds of people who don't know each other. Everybody considering everybody else's comfort. It's refreshing. We're not all vandals and graffiti idiots!
Such a great little cabin. Congrats to those who maintain this camp. Thanks for sharing, Wonderhussy. Stay well Sarah.
What a cool little cabin!
Thanks for letting us tag along.
Safe travels.
Why on earth would anyone say anything nasty about you? Love your adventures & the life story's you tell along the way! Some funny, some sad, but always interesting. Loved this episode, that cabin was amazing & it's nice to see no vandalism, just RESPECT!!
Jealous hateful people. Losers that don't like her liberal spirit...
Thank You for your adventures. Those of us who can’t get out to explore anymore appreciate it!
Gotta say this because nobody else has. Fred & Betty put Barney and Wilma in the locked box so they could get together. Mystery of the locked box solved. That was a smoke filled dream.
Cool cabin! I am shocked that Fred and Betty got together. Feel so sad for Barney and Wilma.
Love it when you go to those volunteer cabins!
Have fun Hussy!😊
I installed a dixie horn on my first car back in 1983. It would blow fuses every other time I used it.
My brother Henry's Trans Am had a Dixie horn.
I have a feeling that Wonder Hussy is one of those people that would look in your medicine cabinet if invited into your home....hehe
"I guess kid rock hasn't made it out to this cabin yet" lmao
I think this is the best cabin yet! Thank you for all of your adventuring Wonderhussy, I wait all week for Wednesdays and the new uploads.
The notion of folks building cute little cabins to live in as weekend miners is such a fascinating aspect of the American West, and the American Dream. Living in Colorado, I think of striking it rich as a mid 1800s obsession, but in your neck of the desert, it was still a thing 100 years later, or like Ross, even today. I also love the idea of people restoring these little cabins for anyone who happens by. This shows even a few volunteers can make a difference. Food for thought from the Hussy and her videos. Fun episode.
Thank you for taking us all along for another wonderful wonderhussy adventure .
The J C Whitney catalog was the Sears catalog for (mostly) cheap auto accessories. Used to spend hours pouring over them.
That's such a nice cabin. It even has an insulated roof. I would love to sleep out on that porch on a summer night. Thank you, Sarah, for another wonderful video.
For anyone who has gone out in the desert to some remnants of other times, and tried to just stand and listen to the eternal breezes whispering through the creosote, trying to imagine what it must have been like, and how much like it ‘was’ still ‘is’, but has also seen all the vulgar vandalism and empty beer cans, this video relaxes a tenseness in the soul. I used to take kites on Jeep runs, but someone always had a dog that incessantly barked at it, so I gave it up. For you, may I suggest a “Sky Spy”, with two big bloodshot eyeballs on it. Wonderhussy is vigilant !
Watching your videos makes me happy at a rough time in my life. Thank you! 💜🙏
This is the nicest cabins I've seen you visit.
Thanks for showing us that neat cabin! You made my day a little brighter 😃
I fondly remember the J.C.Whitney catalog and the ad for that musical horn. The Dixie model was used prominently in The Dukes of Hazzard which I'm sure is why I remember it. They also had everything you needed to build a Baja Bug VW or a dune buggy, or to restore your Model A Ford.
I bought that dixie horn from J.C. Whitney, blew fuses like there is no tomorrow.
@@wandasays5438 it would not blow fuses if you used a relay and direct 12v connection from battery. LOL
Now that was a surprise! What a beautiful little cabin in the middle of nowhere. Thanks Sarah Jane you are amazing! Keep on exploring!
Fred Flinstone and Betty Rubble had a hideaway? Thanks for the tour! You are very talented, smart, and share honestly, part of your appeal and lasting viewership. Thank you Wonderhussy !
I dig that folks act responsible when visiting and dont trash them🎉
These are the type of videos that made me fall in love with your channel, this and the abandoned places when you make up stories of who used to live there. I miss those videos!
If you get a kite, go dual string. Sooooo much fun. Thanks for dragging us along!
only you could make reading an automotive parts catalogue entertaining -- LOL!!!
What a place! I'm surprised it's so clean considering all the wind and screens. Thanks for the tour, Sarah. Keep them coming!
It's sort of the habit of people who wander around out there (I'm one of them, occasionally) to do whatever "needs doin' " in these cabins. Sweeping, dusting, tucking things back into order, whatever. Some will truck up building materials and do some repairs over a weekend, making a "working trip" out of it, and usually a fun campout; most just leave supplies or "care packages" whenever they come across them.
But the thing is... given the random weather that can happen out here, and the other assorted "issues" of wandering around the desert... you never know when such a spot of shelter and supply can save your butt. So people will *respect* these cabins, and do what they can to keep them up. Vandalism almost never enters the picture, because vandals generally won't ever want to wander out that far.
After BamBam and Pebbles married, Fred left Wilma for Betty and moved out to that cabin. Poor Barney!🦖
Bought a new VW in 1970, I used to get VW accessories from the JC Whitney catalog.
I really can not imagine anyone saying nasty things about you . I think you are wonderful. You get to show me places in this country I have never visited. Thank you for what you do. I love you.
Fred and Betty must have left their spouses, Wilma and Barney and went out to the cabin to Bam Bam.
Fred and Betty's love shack is out in the middle of nowhere so Barney and Wilma can't find them. Speaking of the Love shack . Any sign of the B52s?
a satellite phone and a whole posse of rescuers!! 😂❤ no worries...rest easy no matter where you are!! lol ❤
Dump Mickey, grab some peanut butter from the fridge and reload that mousetrap!
Pink Floyd would be your horn tune I reckon Sarah, hugggzzz from this Kentucky biker& guitar picker.
Awesome cabin, another great adventure by the queen of the middle of nowhere 😎🤣🤩⭐️
I cannot imagine anyone saying anything negative about WH. I know I won't. love you Sarah Jane!!
Anyone that carries a teapot as a purse to high school, surely is in their element here.

IIRC, that is a JC Whitney catalog @12:50. Takes me back to my youth. Or is it yute? Great video WH.
Wonderhussy screw what people say it’s only because they are jealous and little people. Rock on!
So, Fred Flintstone ran off with Betty Rubble?! Wow!
23:28 if you've not already done so, be good to date the first aid goodie bags!
... thanks muchly ...💜 luv n light blessings ✝💜...🍁
Smokin hot! Oh…I was talking about the desert….and WH!!!
Speaking of shag carpet, mother had it installed, mid 70s,when I was 16.The shaggy carpets "ate things" like sewing needles, the diamond off your wedding ring, tar,we had just had our rd tarred, and I didn't know my shoes had it on them!
Thar tar was there for yrs, wouldn't come out.
I heard a police officer stepped on a needle that was standing straight up in the shag carpet,it drove into his heel bone left him in excruciating pain, and I heard there was nothing thay could do to remove it.
It also was the favorite wall coverings for converting delivery vans into "shagon wagons",complete with bars and beds!
And custom murals and paint jobs!
I thought windsor ontario had decent styles, till I saw the moon roofs and tinted windows on them in Detroit!
The 70's!
Aww W H - you always take me 'there'! What a cool experience, thru you. Good grief - you are so funny. LUV! Fasky
Dyer Nevada..... Back in the early 90's I worked for a heavy equipment dealership in Vegas. While servicing a piece of heavy equipment in Dyer, I was frantically volunteer'd to drive a water truck out to a local house (or trailer) fire. Once there, I had to get the gasoline powered transfer pump up & running ASAP to feed the fire truck that was working on putting out the fire, & was now out of water...... The transfer pump had its own (but empty) fuel tank, I had to pull the drain plug on the main saddle tank (next to the burning building) to fill a can with gasoline to run around behind the truck to fill the pony motor's tank in order to get the pump running..........good times.
Thanks
Kid Rock has been scheduled to show up, and blow away that bottle of Bud Light.
that is so nice. i'm so happy that hasn't been messed up.
Hello from Colorado
The history of the 1800rds miner should be a documentary of the taming of the west. So many miners just digging holes and dreaming of women and gold/silver
Wow, I haven't seen a J. C. Whitney catalog in decades..
Thanks for sharing your great Desert Mountain Hideaway Cabin adventure! Really liked that you left something at the cabin that others may need if they get in trouble.
Great Place. Thanks for sharing.
So awesome! I my dumb a$$ didn't get lost so easily, I would look for one of these cabins that WH visited to spend the weekend!!
Hey WonderHussy!👋😎
@16:48 Small World!😁
I went to High School in Florence from 1976 to 1979!🥰
Good old Siuslaw High School.🥱
Some of my classmates still live there! Hey Bruce!😁
Great place to be a Kid with a dirt bike!👍
Used to ride in the forest on logging roads and a local quarry. Came upon absolute proof one day in the forest, that Bears DO shit in the woods! It was still Steaming😱😁, we must have come up on him in the middle of doing his business! Poor bear.😬
Cute cabin!👍
Mike in San Diego.🌞🎸🚀🖖
You always make me smile! 😊
Your vids are always so charming. Thanks, Wonderhussy!
Sweet Tangerine, Just Um on the Song 😍❤❤
💖 U Ms Hussy , flying a kite occasionally can be enjoyable , remembering one needs some breeze for the kite to fly .. 👍✨🌞🐝
THANKS!
Thank You ! The cabin is awesome!
Absolute Perfection!
Wonderful story, uplifting. Thx. ✌️
❤ awesome little place ❤ thanks for sharing
It’s so nice that people who come out there are leaving things as good or better than they found it.
Sarah,
In '68 I was travelling around the U.S.
I ended up down a lonely road in Joshua Tree National Monument.
Nothing around and then, Lo and Behold. a Camper with an awning, Lawn Chairs and a couple
relaxing in them.
"What are you doing?", I asked.
"Just relaxing", They said.
"How long have you been here", I inquired.
"Almost Two weeks" They replied.
I looked around, nothing but Joshua's, sagebrush and assorted desert plants
"Doesn't it get boring?, I asked.
The man smiled and replied,
"Set up your tent and come sit with us and look around".
So I did, and as we sat twilight came ,and looking around I
could see the Kangaroo Rats hopping around and foraging.
A little later it was nearly dark and the Coyotes loped in, after the Rats.
"See", he replied, "Everyday and evening something different happens here", All you have to
do is take the time to sit, watch and listen".
Next morning I said good by, I had a lot of country to cover .
It's been 55 years and I have never forgotten them or what I learned about
stopping and smelling the roses.
Cheers,
Frederick "Rik" Spector
Thats right Sarah, Go Fly a Kite!!! and let the adventures continue!!!
There is a sticker on the stove at 10:29 that is for Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. That's from where I live in Oregon!
A J.C. Whitney catalog! We were just talking about those at work the other day! I miss browsing through it when I was a kid dreaming about tricking out my first car.
Thanks for the nice surprise. I never would have expected anything so well maintained in such a far out location. Very nice!
Imagine Nation ❤ Your Wonderful Gypsy's homestead ❤
the sean at 2:40 is great, thanks wonderhussy we love you.i wish i could be doing what you are doing.
TVFR is Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue in Tualatin, Oregon, about 20 minutes from where I live! Cool that someone so close to me goes there!!
These volunteer cabins are way cool. I love all the quirky places you explore. How come there is no one prospecting these areas now?
Leave a sticker next time there’s so many people that love you and who cares what people say. Night at one of those places it would be really cool.❤
Awesome video thank you so much from the Easter Bunny
My mother had a green vacuum like that.
Jc Whitney automotive cataloge. Great all around stuff and good prices. Some things desirable that nobody else had. I purchased a 1968 mustang Convertable top and installed it and very good price maybe around $60 . Oh very good video almost forgot
we were just in the area coming home after a visit to Pahrump--we went up Saline valley and went to cerro gordo from the east--the weather was perfect--we went down the canyon to lone pine and the hiway(136) was closed from flooding from owens river!! we circled back on 190 to 395 home to Bishop
Love these cabin videos you make WH. That old JC Whitney parts catalog from 1981 is a nice touch. You need a kite in your life. My only complaint, or observation if you will, is you should've reset the mouse trap. Other than that oversight you did a great job and left a first aid kit. Stay safe Sarah.
I really enjoy your use of "laid in" when referring to supplies. It's wonderfully charming.
Fred was 95 when he passed in 2006. His wife Betty ( Elizabeth) survived him, they were married 67 years!
Oh you should go back and stay the night inside and do a video, sleep on one of those cotts. What a neat cozy place. 🥰👋😎
Thanks for sharing. It was a great video
Nice vid wh
You Know that poor mouse was a stowaway and came with the visitors. There are no green pastures around there.💜 A Stretch Gumby story👍
Another one, out of the park, bravo
I like when you find clues and create a story from them. Like that time and the time before that. Can you watch my dog for me while I go to Canada?
That Vac @ 5:25 is exactly like my mom had back in the 1960s. Of course, it was a different color, but I did use it.
Fred Flintstone and Betty Rubble?! Lol.. jk.. all i could think of when Fred and Betty were mentioned.. 😂😂😂
Thanks for reading the postcards.
The best part of this video is that no one has vandalized the cabin. And that wonderhussy left it like she found it. Thanks for sharing this gem with us. I hope it stays this way.
