Oh for sure! We covered more in another video when we visited Goldfield for the first time and the amount of old buildings around every corner is astounding.

Goldfield looks like a ton of fun to explore. A shame not much was open. That school too!

Even videos from other people seem the same... nothing is ever open. 😅

Thanks! One of the few things that can really make that connection between the present to those times past. So much more fascinating than reading a book. 😊

@@CactusAtlasYour videos are so fun to watch. I have traveled extensively across the U.S., so when I was teaching history I was able to tell my students ...it looks, feels, smells etc like this...encouraged them to go and touch history. Just visited Virgil Earp's gravesite in South Portland, OR.

Goldfield is so amazing and amazingly haunted with the spirits of the miners, as goes for Tonopah and Rhyolite. I need to get out to Ballarat to see if the spirit of Slim still resides out there

Absolutely your best ever video. So much work with research and finding photos, postcards . The special effect were so much fun and really enjoyed the story telling. With your music work, I thought we were going to find seldom seen slim in the grave yard. A special and very entertaining video from both of you. The search continues.

Wow, thank you! Glenn's been having a lot of fun telling his tale and having a hand at editing with his Seldom Seen Slim series. There's a few more episodes to go though! 😄

Well that was great, amazing to think of the lands that were once covered in the tracks 😃 These old boom towns are incredible, so much to see 👀 The pictures and postcards really show how busy they once were!

Fascinating! I had no idea the train tracks were pilfered for metal during the war. I had always wondered why the tracks in underground mines were missing. Question answered.
I really liked your use of visual and audio overlays. It really gave the episode a vintage feel.

Given the maps we found of old railways it would seem they REALLY went hard on pulling up old tracks. Kind of a shame but necessary considering the times. There's a few sections apparently in that area of Nevada where you can see where the tracks once would have been but unless you know what you're looking for (and we don't! 😅) they can be hard to find from what we've read. Thanks so much for watching and feedback. We appreciate it. 😊

I have an upcoming video on a place built with bottles., I thought it was a novelty.. it never occurred to me that might just be a way to build when materials were scarce- that’s interesting!

Saloons and the bottles in them were certainly in no shortage in towns those days! 😂
