      @bkennedy8 4 місяці тому

      @ufcfan3940. Comparing musicians on here or actually anywhere is a waste of time. It’s all been done over and over for years now; everybody has an opinion. You should just listen to the video and comment, and try to say something diplomatic. Like: John Doe is “one of” the best slide players in the world. Sorry Dude, your opinion was expressed rudely to the person who posted this video.

    • @jareeshkebab1977
      @jareeshkebab1977 4 місяці тому

      @@bkennedy8 hard disagree. Think of how many guitarists are doing the Hendrix/Stevie thing. Most of them. Now think of how many guitarists are doing the slide thing. Significantly less. Not only did Derek choose the slide life, but he built upon what Duane and Elmore James created, and made something completely unique and his own, and quite frankly something far more soulful and creative than any other player I’ve ever heard, which is what music is all about, not flashy blues licks that are fast and hype-y. Comparisons exist for a reason. For example compare the old classic films, like the godfather, robocop, or even the lotr trilogy, with the modern day trash of today like all of the superhero movies, where instead of having good, creative writing and plots, the films nowadays gain recognition for their celebrity actors and aesthetics.
