      I’d check to make sure there is power going to the machine. If you have 120 volts verified then there is something wrong with the control board. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you so much for this tutorial! My washer gets to the "wash" light then sits there forever (after having drained and *i think* spun -- the clothes aren't sopping wet but not as dry as they should be if they were spun properly). It sit at this stage for 2+hours (wash light on). Finally I turn it off and advance the knob to drain/spin, press the start button and it finishes quickly. This seems like a control panel problem, right? The machine is in a very tight spot and pulling it out to access the back would be difficult. I don't even know how they got it in there.

    So ive replaced the spluch assembly and the actuator. Still doesnt spin or agitate would that be the motor itself? I noticed when i removed the belt protector that the spluch and other pully wheel were rubbing on the plastic protector. Im wondering if that caused the motor to burn up? On agitate it will only move a little back and forth. This is still happening after changing those parts now im out 200 and still dont have a working washer

      I’ve run into this problem several times and it’s quite frustrating to try to run down this problem. Sometimes but not always it’s due to a malfunctioning shift actuator/tachometer. I’d change that first and while under there be sure there is no trash or debris inside the metal case where the black wheel that runs through the tachometer part of the actuator is. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    Hi Chip, Thanks. Great video. I'm looking at my daughters Amana NTW4705EW1 (it won't spin, just a light clicking sound) everything else seems to work. I'd replaced the suspension rods / washers a few months ago and somewhere in that process the repair manual disappeared. Do you know where I can find one on the web? I've searched but had no luck. Thanks Bill

      Clicking sound likely was actuator. It failed both the spin and agitator tests with same clicking sound. I disconnected the machine and upon inspection the actuator was stuck in the middle position. Once I took it out I could easily move the splutch back and forth between agitate and spin positions. I ordered a new actuator today and I'm reasonably confident it will fix it. Thanks for the help.

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  24 дні тому

      If the arm on the actuator flops around when you shake it then you are correct. Even so it probably is the actuator.

      Make sure you are getting a good supply of water to the valve. I have change valves and forgotten to turn the water back on. You can remove the hoses and be sure water is running by directing them into a bucket. Make sure you haven't forgotten to plug the new valve body into the control board. If both hot and cold test fail it might be a problem with the wiring or a control board failure. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

    Hi! This video is great!!! I will begin my search for a solve again but thought I’d ask….
    My Amana will go through the whole wash cycle, but enough water is not being spun out of the clothes at the end of the cycle. So when the washing machine is done, my clothes have to be wrung out and there’s so much water in each of them I can’t wring them out thoroughly.
    There is no standing water in the tub. It’s just all in the clothes… Any ideas?

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  Рік тому +2

      If the clothes are just lying there and not pushed up against the side of the spin basket they didn’t spin out. That could be a shift actuator or splutch or belt issue. If they are up against the side that could be a pump or leaking water valve issue. Unfortunately I can only guess without being able to diagnose the issue myself. Thanks for watching!

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  8 місяців тому

      Perhaps there is something wrong with the water supply to the machine. Take the cold line from back of machine and run it in a bucket to see if you have good flow and no hose kinks. If that’s good try the hack in this video Amana Washer Making Noise When Filling | Hack This Issue
      ua-cam.com/video/qq37YBKr3q8/v-deo.html while you reorder and get a good valve. Thanks for watching!

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  8 місяців тому +1

      Did you try the hack described in the video I suggested to check and see if the cold water valve is the problem?. If not here is what to do. First insure that hot water flows through the hot water valve body. You can do this with the diagnostic check. Now, attach the cold water hose to the hot water valve. Next, swap the wires attached to the cold water solenoid and the hot water solenoid. You have to do this for the machine to work properly because all your rinses are cold water. Now check for cold water flow using the diagnostic check. If you still don't get cold water you have a wiring or control board problem. If it does then you have a water valve problem. You can also check the cold water solenoid for continuity. If the solenoid is broken you can use a good one from your old valve to fix it. I hope this helps!

    Hi, my washer would fill then wash but it would not advance into the spinning although i tested the spinning function in the diagnostic and it started up there. I thought maybe it was the lock but i bypassed it and that worked fine after. After i bypassed the lid it still wouldn't advance

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  Місяць тому +1

      I need to clarify something important for you and anyone else reading this. The lid lock on these machines is a two-part mechanism: one function is a lid switch that communicates the lid's position to the control board, and the other is the actual locking mechanism. Both of these functions are critical to the washer's operation, and the control board must receive correct signals from both to function properly.
      Bypassing the lid lock or switch is not just a simple workaround-it disrupts the machine's logic, leading to cycle malfunctions and potentially damaging the electronics on the control board. This can result in expensive repairs or even render the washer inoperable.
      If you're having trouble with the spin cycle or any other function, I strongly advise against tampering with safety features like the lid lock. Instead, let's focus on proper diagnostics or seek help from a qualified technician.
      For everyone else, please take this as a reminder: bypassing safety features on your appliances can cause more harm than good. It's always best to troubleshoot within the designed parameters or get professional assistance.

    I followed your instructions on this video and have done all these tests. My washer does not rinse. I did not see a test for the rinse cycle. Do I set the washer test mode so the rinse light is illuminated? The diagnostic codes I got were F4 E0

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  3 місяці тому

      On these washers all rinses are in cold water. If the cold water valve isn’t supplying enough cold water in a timely fashion it will time out and pump out and stop on the rinse cycle. I suspect when you check the cold water it just trickles in. If you are getting enough cold water then I’d suspect the shift actuator. So if it’s the water valve the your tub will be empty of water because it pumps out. If it’s the shift actuator your clothes will be floating in a full tub of water and stopped on the rinse cycle. Good luck with your repair!

Next unplug the machine for 2 minutes, plug it, lift the lid and close it then push the start button and close it. Next try to determine if the button is stuck down. You can remove the back panel then with a putty knife depress the clips at each side of the console and lay it down. Pull the knob off the front and then remove the control board and turn it over to examine the button switch on the board. I hope these ideas will help you. Thanks for watching!

      Use the book on the inside left corner of the cabinet to check the fault codes. That will get you on the right track. A no spin situation can be many things. Lid lock/lid switch, shift actuator, tachometer, motor, belt, splutch, control board. I’d check the tachometer, that’s a common issue, but the fault codes will guide you to the solution.

      Lid is locked. And replaced actuator and splutch. You can hear the motor wanting to spin if you reach down and give it a shake it starts spinning. Is that just a bad motor by the way this happened after washing a very large comforter

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  7 місяців тому

      I'm thinking the shake could be nudging the basket enough for the motor to start. That points to a weak capacitor. I'm guessing here so let me know if you find a solution.

      This sounds like a cold water valve problem. What I would suspect is your cold water valve isn’t flowing enough water into the tub before it times out. All rinses are cold water only. It may be flowing enough during the wash cycle because it is flowing warm or hot water. Do the diagnostic check as in the video for the cold water valve. Thanks for watching!

However it automatically drained once i syphoned almost all the water from the tub. Im so stumped

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  7 місяців тому

      It sounds as if you’re having issues with the pressure transducer on the control board. Take the hose loose from the control board and blow back through it to clear any blockages. With no water in the tub reconnect it to the control board. Oh, and make sure it is connected well to the side of the tub. You may have to reach up under the machine and do this. You might also have a small hole in the pressure hose. If you are still having issues, your pressure transducer is not functioning and you’ll have to replace the control board. Thanks for watching!

    Chip, I have an older Amana; a DLW330RAW that has a problem I can't find an answer to. It locks up in the agitation cycle and causes the motor to stop and make a burning smell. But if I advance the timer to rinse/spin it spins fine and drains as normal. I replaced the timer - that was not the problem. I replaced the main bearing about two years ago it has been working fine until now. I don't see that this model even has a clutch. I took off the belt: laying the machine on its back, rotating the pulley wheel counter clockwise, allows the agitator and drum to rotate freely but together only, but if I advance the pulley wheel clockwise, it locks all movement. I am stuck. Any ideas? Thanks.

      Try plugging a lamp or radio into the same receptacle. If it doesn’t work it’s a power problem. Check your power cord for damage. Then suspect the power supply part of your control board. Make sure you have power to the receptacle that it is plugged into. You can put it into diagnostic mode and select the water pump to pump the water out. You can also try to unlock it that way. If you get it into diagnostics turn on the water pump, drain it, leave the pump,on and select the spin mode to spin your clothes out. Thanks for watching!

      Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to help you without being able to trouble shoot it myself. If there is power at the wall socket then you have problem with the control board’s power supply or the power cord.

    ❓️My whirpool stop in rinse led and don't fishish the cycle. I do all in video and my washer do all the works for the cycle ( spin, agitation, wather H & C, wather pump, all work). I Chek the code and the first led sens, rinse, final and cycle turn ON. And then the only LED turn on its the Cycle. I'm not sure if the code is F3 E0. The F3 E0 code is a fault with your pressure switch. Check for a crimped line, loose hose connection or it could be the transducer on the control board is bad. If that’s the problem then you’ll have to change the control board.
      El código F3 E0 es una falla en su interruptor de presión. Verifique si hay una línea doblada, una conexión de manguera suelta o podría ser que el transductor en el tablero de control esté dañado. Si ese es el problema, tendrás que cambiar la placa de control.

      The error fault codes are found in the service manual. The service manual can be found in a plastic bag at the upper left inside corner of your washing machine’s cabinet.
      Los códigos de falla de error se encuentran en el manual de servicio. El manual de servicio se puede encontrar en una bolsa de plástico en la esquina interior superior izquierda del gabinete de su lavadora.

      I can’t think of any reason it would be doing that unless it was lint from the blanket. In that case it should clear up after a few loads. Thanks for watching!

      Modern washing machines have got to meet new EPA standards for water consumption. Perhaps this is normal for your machine. But it could be another issue related to the pressure transducer on the control board. Unfortunately I can only guess without being able to personally diagnose your machine. Thanks for watching!

    I think my issue is either the valve body or the control board I’m about to try the doing the diagnostic test right now but my issue is basically the machine will run auto sensing but the light will switch to wash after and it will just stop there it won’t fill up or spin or do anything else I can change it to the rinse cycle and it works just fine but it will not start the wash cycle
    If anyone has advice I’d love to hear it
