Great ideas for supplies to make a homemade stamping platform. Tutorial is great also. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!😊
Great tutorial. I made one out of a CD case and it's small. I'll be making this one. I had to chuckle when you said you needed to laminate some graph paper. That's exactly what I did and it works great. Thank you so much.
Thank you you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed my video and it helped you out. 😊 Oh I've seen the CD ones, they look great for crafting on the go. 👍
When you use thin metal sheet under foam, you can use the magnets for holding paper in place......
Oh yeah I've heard of that technique before. It's a good idea, if I was to make another one I would definitely do that. 😊
This is the best diy stamping tool I have seen yet! I lucked up and was able to get the Hampton Arts version but if I ever need a new one or a bigger one, I will definitely be making this one. I WILL NOT pay what she wants for the MISTI! I honestly don't believe that her manufacturing costs are that high, especially if others can manufacture one and sell it for that much less! Thank you so much for the video!!
longingtobeorganized thank you, the Timholtz stamping tool is amazing I have a review of it on my channel and couldn't recommend it more. 😊

@longtobe organized I figure 'she' of MISTI infamy has to make a lot of extra money to cover all of her legal expenses for those patents she took out that has disadvantaged the rest of us. I shan't never forgive her for having the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform taken off the market. But this DIY of @checiegirlcreations is the next best thing.
Brilliant, thanks everso much for such a clever and clear tutorial.
Carol Morgan your welcome glad you enjoyed 😊
Put a magnet sheet underneath your foam so that you can put a magnet on your paper. It looks great.
Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try 😊
wow!! it's beautiful.... thank you
Princess Estevez thanks 😊
Best one I’ve seen. TFS
Thank you so much, glad you like it
Well done you......smashing tutorial.......thank you
Melanie Alexander thank you so much. 😊
Very clean job. Thank you very much for sharing :)) xoxo Josi from Slovenia

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed my video 😊
Lovely thanks for sharing 😊😊
Nainika's Crafts thank you and you're welcome 😊
Thanks for replying you are very talented 😊😊
Nainika's Crafts no problem 😊
I have a Cuttlebug ALL In One that I use very seldom but it already looks somewhat like a Misty. Has anyone tried using it as a stamping tool. I would like to get more use out of it and it looks like it would work.
I did it and it works! the Cuttlebug thingy worked! I just saved time and a lot of money! Yeah! Thank you for the inspiration!
can you give us the measurement of plastic sheet you used and the size of hinges.
The grid sheet is 17cm x 11cm approx once laminated and the hinges are 4cm x 2cm and about 1cm high. Hope that helps :)
This is awesome. How much did all the supplies cost?
Thanks, everything cost about £10 😊
can you hot glue the foam pieces together instead of double sided tape?
gladys maddin yes you can, but I wouldn't recommend since the hot glue is most likely to melt the foam, but other wet adhesives like tacky glue might work. Hope that helps. 😊
DUH, i thought about it after i wrote it. thanks for the video and the reply have a great blessed day
gladys maddin hehe that's alright, glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
thanks for sharing. looks like you need some sharper scissors.
Cathy Judd welcome, yeah I couldn't find my good scissors at the time. 😊
@@checiegirlcreations I was going to say the same thing, you poor thing, its frustrating when you have an equipment malfunction...🤭...
Loved this tutorial and definitely one I'll be using in the new year, please can you let me know where you got the lego from and can you get it in different colours as I'm thinking of making a large one and small one for different projects...
Thank you for sharing your home made stamping platform, and I hope you have a wonderful week my lovely...
💫🎨✏✂️🖌🎨💫
Yes it was most irritating...😟
I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial so much, I got mine from Wilkos (a store in the UK), I'm pretty sure they had a few different colours.😊
Please let me know how it goes and what projects you use it for, hope you have a great week. 💗
@@checiegirlcreations I'm from Surrey so we have a couple of wilkos near by...
I've been on ebay and found some really cool coloured acrylic and lego's, and it's still cheaper to make two and I'm sure a third one (as a gift for my mum)than it is to buy just one of the shop ones, I'm soo glad I found your video, I'm definitely going to watch some more of your videos...
And subscribe, I'm hopefully starting a UA-cam and LBRY channels in the next few weeks if everything goes to plan, and it would be great to tag you as my inspiration for this project, but only if that's ok with you my lovely...? If not I totally respect your decision...
And for now I'm in my comfy chair, hot mug of coffee, snuggled with my furbaby and about to binge watch some of your videos...xxx
@@Bubs2375 Gaenor bailey oh that's great! It'll be really cool to see what yours looks like when completed, I'm sure your mum will love that gift! 👍 Oh that's lovely you're opening a channel, I look forward to watching your videos. 😊 Feel free to tag me I don't mind, hope you enjoyed your video binge. Oh and you can also join my Facebook group if you like. 💗
Did you put a manganic panel on the bottom of your stamping tool? If this was a kit, could you put the information in your video?
Donna Killewald no there isn't a magnetic base, I just used the backing from a watercolour pack which is some kind of card or chipboard. And no this wasn't a kit I sourced all the supplies myself. 😊
Was this a kit that you purchased on line?
Donna Killewald no this wasn't a kit, I sourced all of the supplies myself. 😊
Here's a short video with a tip to help stop the squeaking on the hinges: ua-cam.com/video/gLR2kmcoOvo/v-deo.html
Thank you, I'll definitely try that out 😊
I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what is the purpose of the duct tape?
Because I used chipboard instead of thick acetate at the bottom, the duct tape is to both strengthen it and makes it easier to clean. 😊
@@checiegirlcreations Thank you for your quick response. That does make sense...now that I see this.
@@lorirobinson7357 no problem, happy to help 😁
Ok so let me get this straight.... for $80 worth of stuff u can MAKE your own $80 misting tool? Got it!!!
Angela Richter I actually spent about £10 pounds on this project. 😊
Warning!! All these companies who are making stamping platforms are being challenged by My Sweet Petunia for infringing on their patent. Tim Holtz as well as the others who made one of these tools have been delayed in selling their product until lawyers have decided if they did copy. You would be better off keeping your "copycat" version off the internet. Give it up before you find yourself in a lot of trouble. I noticed that you are giving your product the name "Misti". That is a "no-no"" & you could be sued!!
She is not in the US so the patent does not affect her.
Maybe We R Memory Keepers Letterpress should sue My Sweet Petunia for infringement on THEIR original idea for a hinged stamping tool. The Letterpress was around for some time before the MISTI.
Yeah I agree with that. They have that platform because of their letterpress techniques!!1
I agree. I don't understand why those that are on a budget can't learn how to make the tools that we want. As long as we don't sell them.
Actually, unless you’re selling the DIY versions, it’s not a copyright infringement. This is for her own use and all she is doing is giving the tutorial away for free. Again, not a copyright violation.
