Burning on it is okay? Does it effect the varnish and gloss?

Lovely cover! I have three. I finished one and did the cover in pen and ink, the second one I haven't decorated (even though I'm practically done with it lol), and the third that I just started, I collaged it, used gouache and ink. I do like Strathmore's vision sketchbooks. I would say the paper is better suited for pencil, ink, and very light watercolor washes. Gouache does okay, but there will be some buckling, and alcohol markers will definitely show up on the back of the page (though I think they show up nicely on the paper).

Faaaaam. I felt all of that. I am also a very slow creator and I've been working on a few youtube series I wanted to launch this year and it's so much work that i also started feeling like I was only making art for videos. It's such a hard balance to keep up. I decided to start art journaling once a week this year as something I only share with patrons and not on my different social media accounts, so there's been less pressure. I also don't film myself doing it so I can just feel free doing it in the moment. 2021 is gonna be our year!

These sketches are wonderful and I also find toadstools very 🍄 adorable... I know what you mean about time running away with you,(🗣waffle alert🗣)I dont sleep very often due to my condition and my medication, I picked up my sketch pad, pencils & rubber at about 8:30pm to do my "Daily doodle challenge" (which I started at the beginning of lockdown, I rip up a sheet of A4 180gsm paper into 6-8 different shaped pieces and then randomly pic one every day, and I give myself ten minutes to sketch something whether its inspired by the shape of the paper, a memory or asking someone for a subject to draw)and honesty its one of the most fun drawing ideas I've ever had, it pushes you out of your comfort zone, it really helped me to enjoy sketching again, anywhodly back to my first part of my waffle, I drew my daily doodle and afterwards I opened my sketch book because I loved my doodle I drew and wanted to do a more detailed version, the next thing I knew my Husbands alarm was going off at 07:30am...!!! ...😳😱🤯... I was gobsmacked! And when I looked through what I'd been sketching, I'd made a whole family of creatures, and I'd given them all names, I'd given them their own unique quirks, style and I'd named the whole family... "Bub's Lovelies"...? Its probably because that is what I call everyone... So I definitely know how engrossed you can get in your art, which has made me wonder what its going to be like when my art/craft space is ready, my family won't see me for days maybe weeks...🤭... Anywhodly waffling over... ...🚫🗣🚫... I look forward to your comeback, take care & stay safe my lovely... 💫😷😳✍😳😷💫

Im sorry to hear this but understand where your coming from... Its definitely a big reason I keep putting off uploading my first video, its scary to see the kinds of videos some people put out and what they have to do just to be noticed, but fortunately I've recently been talking to another crafting channel and she really helped me understand a few things and reminded me why I wanted to have a UA-cam channel in the first place... I really love your creativity with simple supplies. I have very limited space and never wanted to get into buying more printing supplies like silk screens, etc. I am inspired to get going myself and experimenting too. Can you tell me what you have mixed in your spray bottles? Is it acrylics, or watercolour, or ink, or something else?

Beautiful look... I had a thought about the pencil resisting the coffee, if their a good quality pencil it might have a small amount of wax in them, I have the "spectrum noir" pencil sets and they do the same, their very pigmented and easy to work with, they also give an amazing finish when you use them with alcohol markers... I absolutely love working with pencils, pencil sketching is definitely my favourite medium... I use coffee & tea to age paper it works beautifully when you make aged labels or treasure maps🏴‍☠️, Your finished artwork looked great and if your happy with it then definitely use the pencils again... It looks like you've really settled into your art space, it doesn't seem that long ago that you were clearing out the shed to make way for your craft room, I look forward to watching more of your work...
