    Hello today I bring you an upgraded version of Corky my stamping tool found here ( • DIY Stamping tool usin... ) Please subscribe and share and if you like this fabulous stamper give me a thumbs up :D Like the popular brand but cheaper to make it , this stamping tool is larger than the name brand one on the market today. Requires no magnets or metal sheet to make, You could even use cardboard or a piece of wood that fits the frame. I was still able to keep it all under $10 and I made it under 30 minutes.
    I am going to fix the hidges better using Gorilla Glue so it has more longenvity, but other than that I am good to go :D It works great and does exactly what I need.
    Any questions please feel free to drop me a comment below.
    Materials used on this stamper:
    1 picture frame 11 1/4 x 8 1/4
    1 plexi glass sheet 8 x 10
    duct tape
    hot glue
    exacto knife
    1 cork board.

    I LOVE how you used binder clips! That is a cheaper and more alternative to hinges. Ma shaa Allah! Keep up the great work!

    You just saved me $60! TY! I didn't do it exactly like you did. All that I needed was the top acrylic and instead of the glass, I placed another sheet of acrylic. Instead of taping/gluing, the acrylic was sturdy enough and yet thin enough to fit under the clamps. Perfect! I love DIY projects! Thanks again!

    I learn much better with voice instructions, rather than music, which to me is distracting. But loved the concept. I never would have thought to use a picture frame. Ingenious.

    Wonderful! I am going to try to make this today. I am also going to try to print out 2 grids on transparencies with laser printer. I will place 1 over cork and line up 1 on inside of plexi glass . I think this will work and make it even easier to keep things straight. Thanks for this great idea. Will let you know how this works out.

      it really is that easy, :D just cut your pieces to size and add your clips and plexi and that is it :D very fast very easy :D You can use foam board as I did or a piece of wood, or the backing of the frame, just add another peice of cardboard to give it more strength, hot glue the bottom and you are all done.

    I'm confused because when I try to put the handle of the binder clip on the outside of the acrylic sheet, the sheet doesn't lay flat, it sticks up. It only lays flat if I put the acrylic on top of the handle of the binder clip.

    • @HappyDayCrafts
      @HappyDayCrafts  3 роки тому

      Hello, for me I laid it in from the back of the frame, it can also be your clips make sure they are flat , you might have to make some adjustments.

    • @HappyDayCrafts

  • @deskjockie4948
    @deskjockie4948 8 років тому

    Great video, thanks for sharing. One suggestion: add a thin strip all the way across the long side under the clips to allow the plexiglas to lay flatter. Just clip all three layers, the cardboard, the cork, and the strip. What do you think?

    • @HappyDayCrafts
      @HappyDayCrafts  8 років тому +3

      Thsnks for watching and sounds like a good idea, I will keep that in mind, so far I fixed that issue using foam tape, you can see it in my latest video the DIY washi tape I used corky there, I kind of heat setted each clip into the foam so the sheet lays flat and the slight height issue is ammended. :D so far so good :D

    • @barbarakelly6519
      @barbarakelly6519 7 років тому

      Sorry, can you explain this extra strip to me please, I don't understand. I think your video is fantastic, I've wanted a misti for a while, but they are not stocked here in Ireland and to buy from the US is almost $100 and the postage is nearly the same. Thank you sooooo much for sharing your fabulous idea and saving me such a lot of money xxxxx

    • @HappyDayCrafts
      @HappyDayCrafts  7 років тому +1

      The strip is not needed if your plexi glass closes down all the way. once your clips are added. If there is a space that does not allow your plexi glass door to come closed all the way, then you can add a foam strip along that area to assist in it closing all the way,That will depend on the picture frame you use and the clips used to make this tool.

      EVERYone ought to get credit when they come up with a functional mouse trap,
      but when somebody ELSE comes up with a better one, it IS rather disheartening when the inventor of the better one gets slapped down. #$%^&!! We'd all STILL be cooking over an open fire and pounding our clothes on rocks if innovation was
      beat down way back when!!!

  • @caroleshay9153
    @caroleshay9153 8 років тому

    Don't you need something behind the frame backing to take up the space between the table surface and the frame edges? It looks like this my have the potential of the backing being pushed off.

    • @HappyDayCrafts
      @HappyDayCrafts  8 років тому

      I Hot glued the boards on the back of the frame and so far is is sturdy and it has not fallen apart on me once, and I actually put some pressure on the plexi when I stamp and it has held up very nice so far..

    omg I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! your such an inspiration!!! OK stupid question where can I find plexy glass at the size I need for this project please? TFS beautiful!!

    • @amkarei
      @amkarei 5 років тому

      Sadly, UNLESS this person has another source (???) -- the Plexi -- AND the saw blade to cut it!! -- was the biggest expense of my DIY stamper!! For some reason, even the Dollar Tree's picture frames actually have GLASS in them, so no end-run on that facet of the project. It ended up costing me AS MUCH (or more?) than a Misti!! But it was a fun bonding project for me and my fella. AND when I found a Stamperatus on line, I didn't feel quite so guilty about "moving up". But, in truth, I still grab our "homemade" one for most projects!

    • @lorirobinson7357
      @lorirobinson7357 4 роки тому

      @@amkarei you can get someone at Loews or Home Depot or any place like this to cut a piece to your size requirements. Most likely you will have to pay for a whole piece, but it is still much cheaper than manufactured items on the market.
