You are so very kind to share. Thank you. Not all of us can afford the name brand products and HAVE to diy if we're going to craft. The very best to you.
I made myself one over a year ago, out of a clear ring display case. I used the foam pad that you push the rings into, as the base. It works fine. It's good to see people making their own craft aids, instead of buying everything. Great video 😊
You are sooo smart!!! This is a great tutorial... and "Thank YOU" for not having background music that interferes with your teaching... I totally enjoyed this GREAT IDEA!!! ;)
I have a very bad tremor that is usually kept under control with a neurostimulator that is implanted in my brain. Well, the batteries have recently died and the tremor is 'out of control'. Just typing this is quite a challenge (My neurologist is in Houston and I am in Georgia not to mention no insurance). My point? I thought I was going to have to quit stamping...I just cannot afford the MISTI, but your less expensive version is the answer! Thank you!!!
if you were near me I would give you a hug right now I am so happy that you posted this I just got into this whole card making world and there was no way I was going to spend that much money on one of those tools when I could buy pretty stamps instead
I made one of these and I don't know how I lived without one!! It's fantastic for assembly line-ing cards! I've put two foam sheets in mine for extra cushy stamping, got those at the dollar tree store. hobby lobby has the really strong magnets too- but then so does ebay. I just love this tool!! Thanks for showing us how to have one without spending tons of money!!
As soon as I saw this video, I made me one and I just love it! I've used it several times already and it makes crafting life so much easier! Thank you so much for sharing.
Just ordered the supplies. Can't wait! Also discovered my new favorite online store!!! The prices are amazing and the shipping is actually affordable!!! FYI anyone not aware… Clicking the triangle on the right under the video opens up the supply list links 😀
Your videos are really great quality. Enjoyed it a lot. Thank you. It saddens me that none of the "big" stamping channels do videos like this. It's so commercial and sponsored, which is cool, but to a point. Thanks for this video.
I made one according to your guidelines, works PERFECTLY all the time, no matter what! No magnets needed, maybe sometimes a small piece of Post-It Tape to hold paper in place. It's a great asset in stamping, especially when stamping onto watercolor paper when repeated stamping is needed to really make in image crisp. Thank you! And I didn't spend between 40 - 100 dollars to have a stamping positioner!
I like to use a low tack tape as well sometimes. The perfect positioner won't last forever but can be replaced if needed or you can just use a low tack tape like micropore paper tape or washi tape rubbed on your hand or the post it tape as you mention. Thanks for sharing your tip!
As I somewhat expected, my homemade positioner finally broke...the polystyrene could only take so much pressure. Put a little clear packaging tape over the crack. Onward...until something else happens to it!
WOW!! that is INGENIOUS!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I already own the "other stamping tool" but this one is great for smaller projects. Fantastic idea.
Great job Jodi! Those stamps are so pretty:) I like that compact positioner (because my desk gets too small when I stamp LOL) Those stamps and inks look wonderful and I can't wait to try them!
Ordered from Hallmark Scrapbook, received in record time, put together in a few minutes, and it works like a CHARM! yes, I would love to have the "real deal", but it's going to be a while to save up for it. this will also help to determine would I really USE it enough to justify the expense. Thanks so much! great tutorial and EXCELLENT service!
Boy am I behind! I found your video, just got my supplies, except the grid, am going to assemble tonight. This is perfect for the Altenew stamps. TY for sharing because I personally can't afford the Misti.
I just made my very own today!! I works well.. now to attach magnets and we will have created a very inexpensive stamping tool..thanks sooo much! my very own generic misti. .
Thank you so much. I really wanted the misti. But when I got online and saw how much it was I took another look at other alternatives . And then there you were.. "AWESOME"
I ordered the supplies to make me a couple and I have to say it works really good. I have a hard time stamping background stamps and used it today to make a few cards and it was awesome because I could make it darlker or as light as I wanted and it was all the same. No sploches any where. I was very happy with the outcome. It beats spending 50 to 80 dollars on something that I can make myself. If you make this and your grid doesn't hold your paper down anymore, you can use Stencil Removable spray to keep your matt sticky. Thank you for this great video. I came across it while browing in the online store.
Great idea. You should put together a kit with the Stamp storage case, fun foam, a few sheets of grid paper and Little B positioner and sell it as a set for one price. Thank you for sharing. God bless, Peggy
Hi Susan! You can get them at our store (use the link in the video description - or visit our website and do a search for Little B Perfect positioner) you may be able to get them other placed as well.
I have watched a lot of faux Misti Tools and this is the BEST BY FAR! I have everything (even the Little B Perfect Positioner) now I just gotta find it..lol but THANK YOU SO much for showing us this and using the Alt T new stamps with it.. I have a set of those stamps and I am having one heck of a time lining them up..Now, I know how..Got to buy that pretty ink too..Thanks again. I SUBSCRIBED and THUMBS UP!
Jodi - Thank you so much - I ordered on Tuesday and got everything today. I put it together and now I have to work and its killing me because I just want to play, play, play. thank you.
I ordered the foam sheet, the little B, and the storage case. It came in 3 days. It only took me 5 minutes to put it together. So easy! Can't wait to try it!
You can also make this with clear acrylic sheets from a hardware store and get acrylic hinges. Stick white foam on the back or rubber washers to prevent sliding. You can stick the Little B grid on or draw your own. I found the sheets 8x10. You can glue on rulers or write in inches.
Tried to order from the website and both items are sold out today! What a wonderful thing for you! Congrats on a fabulous DIY cheap solution! I will beusing this idea when I can find a case!
Great idea!! Thank you so much for sharing. I always thought the MISTI while a great tool, it's wayyyyy over price. I don't think you are profiting from someone's idea, this is you making your own version of a product. Thanks again.
💥blown💨away💥‼️ I am so happy I found this video before I purchased the "M". My husband loves to buy me art/craft supply gifts, I just felt like the price, and the amount I would use it...didn't justify the purchase. Thank you for sharing! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼, shared, and subscribed‼️🎈
Thank you so much for your great and very helpful video. I was just thinking of doing something like this myself, after seeing the Misti, but wasn't sure of exactly how to do it. I may eventually get a Misti, or a Mini Misti. But the price is a bit steep for me to spend $40 - $60 on just one tool right now....worth it, though it may be because of the stronger construction. I actually recently purchased a Little B and even have some fun foam, so all I need is the DVD case. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks again.
This is fantastic! I'm currently just learning about the clear stamps and how to make my own greeting cards using them and I don't feel comfortable using the acrylic blocks on their own, I'd rather have a grid and a solid, hinged tool to help me. I checked my local craft stores and nobody has anything like this so I'm glad I can try to make my own and save money too. :) Thank you so much for the video!!
Karen Menard Altenew is an awesome company with wonderful products. Like I said in the video the inks are my favorite and stamp a solid image very nicely even with new clear stamps. At least the ones I have used them with. Some of the other inks struggle with a new solid image clear stamp. Most work well with a stamp that has been well used or conditioned.
wow it is sooo good to have an alternative to so many expenses we have to otherwise use to make our card look professsional. thanks for the great video
This is so helpful, I don't do enough card making to justify buying one but could really use it for certain things, and your products are very reasonably priced in comparison
This is great! I just threw a bunch of those polystyrene DVD cases into the waste basket in my craft room....better go take a few back out! Recycling the others. They are super, super cheap. Polystyrene used for acrylic stamps ruins them over time, so I switched to polypropylene cases. Having said all that, I still like using my acrylic blocks! Thanks for the tute!
What a ingenious way of showing your ability to save big $$$ unfortunately I've already bought mine.. but this is the best Do it yourself I've seen!! Great job!!!
Awesome, thanks for sharing. I particularly like this because the other ones I've seen so far come with inch marks, which are hyper distracting to me. Shall experiment!
Ok, this gets even better because I was able to stamp once with 2 colors on the stamp and then wiping the excess off and using Versamark and emboss using a clear embossing powder over that. Looks fantastic! =)
This was such a great idea that I went right out and bought the CD cases. I did the same, with a couple tweaks. I cut two strips and aligned them along the left and bottom sides to create a frame for placing my paper. That way I didn't need the grid paper, I just aligned the paper in the corner. (Similar idea to the Stamp A Ma Jig - butt the paper into the corner) It's also quicker when stamping multiples. I liked the idea of the "gridded lid". So I took graph paper and scanned it, then I printed it on clear sheets and attached that to the lid. The only drawback to this home made is the smaller size, but it works like a charm.
Wow! That's very cool! I Can't wait to try it! I have a small crafting space, this would be perfect for me. Thanks for sharing your video with us! I was wishing I could make one, but couldn't come up with how. Now I'm excited to try this; I'm a girl with a very tight crafting budget, this will really help! ;)
Thank you for showing how to make this stamping tool, we can't seem to purchase the Little B Perfect positoner here in Nelson, NZ so we are using graph sheets instead. I hope it will do the same as the Little B sheet. Cost approx. $6, better that paying $50- $125 for the same thing. Thank you once again.

+Robin Smith Where do you put the magnets? will it affect the stamp?
As soon as I saw this video, I made me one and I just love it! I've used it several times already and it makes crafting life so much easier! Thank you so much for sharing.

Best DIY stamping tool I've seen so far.
Your videos are really great quality. Enjoyed it a lot. Thank you. It saddens me that none of the "big" stamping channels do videos like this. It's so commercial and sponsored, which is cool, but to a point. Thanks for this video.
It is really great for me when I am looking for an inexpensive tool to stamp layering on my flower images. Thanks so much for the sharing.

Lauri
WOW!! that is INGENIOUS!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I already own the "other stamping tool" but this one is great for smaller projects.
Fantastic idea.
The best DIY video that I have seen, I'll make one immediately! Simple and requires very few items - wonderful.
Great job Jodi! Those stamps are so pretty:) I like that compact positioner (because my desk gets too small when I stamp LOL) Those stamps and inks look wonderful and I can't wait to try them!
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Thanks Lindsay! That means a lot coming from you! You'll LOVE the stamps and inks as much as I do I'm sure!
What a great idea.
You've saved me a fortune!
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich lol oh guess I found it? HOW COOL!! love this idea.

My friend sent this video to Mr and I'm so glad she did! It's such a good idea! TYFS 💜

2010pallen This is a brilliant idea!
2010pallen I was JUST going to suggest that myself!! :-D
Where do you get the little B positioner grid?
Hi Susan! You can get them at our store (use the link in the video description - or visit our website and do a search for Little B Perfect positioner) you may be able to get them other placed as well.

Wonderful you have just created the new low tech stamping tool congrats to you for inventing an affordable stamping tool. Thank you.
Wow! Great idea. Now a lot of crafters who cant't afford a expensive positioned have a great option. Good work. Cathy
I like how compact and inexpensive it is. Thanks for sharing!
I ordered the foam sheet, the little B, and the storage case. It came in 3 days. It only took me 5 minutes to put it together. So easy! Can't wait to try it!

Great suggestion! How do you cut the Acrylic?
this is the best video on making your own positioner out there thank you!
Tried to order from the website and both items are sold out today! What a wonderful thing for you! Congrats on a fabulous DIY cheap solution! I will beusing this idea when I can find a case!
Melodyscraps They will be back in stock very soon. Check back around Wednesday if you're still interested.
Thanks for sharing such a simple and effective tool. I will have a go at making my own this weekend. Thanks.
Your stamping tool idea is so clever! Kudos to you and your creativity!!
I made one similar to this but I used a softer plastic dvd case. It works perfectly.
Thank you for that! You can't even buy a MISTI in England and if you could it would be so expensive. Can't wait to make one of these!
Great idea!!
Thank you so much for sharing. I always thought the MISTI while a great tool, it's wayyyyy over price. I don't think you are profiting from someone's idea, this is you making your own version of a product. Thanks again.

Just got my stuff today. I love it. It's perfect size for my stamping on the go bag. Thanks for a great cheap ideal
I love how compact your positioner is. I have a MISTI but I love the flexibility of yours. TFS your innovation.
I have been trying to think of a way to make my own misti! this is awesome thank you for sharing!
This is fantastic. It is so simple and we have all the goods at home. Great show.
Thank you so much for your great and very helpful video. I was just thinking of doing something like this myself, after seeing the Misti, but wasn't sure of exactly how to do it. Love it, love it. So glad i can get products to make my own.i am a diy person. TFS
Came across this today. I like the compact positioner. This will be great to take out of town or to crops with you. Awesome!
this is so clever and so inexpensive to make!!!! thanks for the video!
If you use the thinner fun foam, you'll have enough room to add a photo magnet to help with holding your cardstock in place while stamping.
I have to admit it looks fantastic..... love the ink and the stamp set!
Wish I'd have found your video before I spent 100. buying two of the OTHER stamp positioner! Great idea & thanks for taking the time to video this!
This is so helpful, I don't do enough card making to justify buying one but could really use it for certain things, and your products are very reasonably priced in comparison
I just found this vide and now I am one happy lady. Thank you so much.
I bought the three things needed, from you a little while back, just forgot how to put it all together. Now i do. Thanks.
I must add my thanks to all the others! this is WONDERFUL!
Genius. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was not happy with the $30-$60 price tags for the WRMK or Misti.
Thanks so much for sharing! I wish I would have seen this before I went and spent money on my stamping gadget!
This is the best dyi for stamping tool I've seen
GREAT VIDEO!! I'm off to go find myself a DVD case....thanks for sharing!!
What a ingenious way of showing your ability to save big $$$ unfortunately I've already bought mine.. but this is the best Do it yourself I've seen!! Great job!!!
great idea - thanks for sharing - will have to look out for some of thes dvd cases!
oh wow that's so creative!! I love it! fantastic idea, love!
Eine super Idee und Anregung. Ich habe endlich die Folie gefunden und bestellt. Vielen Dank für deinen Tipp und deine Mühe. LG Petra
Awesome, thanks for sharing. I particularly like this because the other ones I've seen so far come with inch marks, which are hyper distracting to me. Shall experiment!
Thanks! This is such a great idea and the video shows really clearly what to do. Much appreciated!
Thank you for your great video I am so going to make one of these. Big hello's from Australia cheers Cathy
I just tried this and it works GREAT. Thank you so very much for sharing how you did it! :)
Ok, this gets even better because I was able to stamp once with 2 colors on the stamp and then wiping the excess off and using Versamark and emboss using a clear embossing powder over that. Looks fantastic! =)
What a clever idea. Wow...great, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. Can't wait to make one of these!!
Great demo with your homemade 'Misti'
I've just been looking at the Misti but I'm a beginner and it's way to expensive but this perfect thank you subscribed 👍😀
Great idea. Need to make one as soon as I find a clear dvd case.
I have a misti and I love it but I want to make one of these to put in my "go bag"! Tfs this idea!
Brilliant Idea! Thank you for Sharing!! Liz

Anita
Thank you for such a nice idea! I just ordered the case. Cannot wait to try it. Thanks again
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing.
I bought the MISTI but this is brilliant!! What a great idea if you want a cheaper option to have similar functionality of stamping tools like this.
thanks for this awesome diy, you just saved me some money, subbed!
Wow! That's very cool! I Can't wait to try it! I have a small crafting space, this would be perfect for me. Thanks for sharing your video with us! I was wishing I could make one, but couldn't come up with how. Now I'm excited to try this; I'm a girl with a very tight crafting budget, this will really help! ;)
Ahh I made one so awesome I can't wait to get a misty but the one I made will due until I can!! Thanks again for this tutorial.. Heather
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
that is a cool idea . I would love something like this
Thank you for showing how to make this stamping tool, we can't seem to purchase the Little B Perfect positoner here in Nelson, NZ so we are using graph sheets instead. I hope it will do the same as the Little B sheet. Cost approx. $6, better that paying $50- $125 for the same thing. Thank you once again.
Very interesting and clever. I will give this a try. Thank you for sharing.. :)
wow thanks for showing this!
I love your idea, and the Little B Perfect Positioner is on my wish list now. Thanks for the video! :)
I am going to try this right away... but I have some rare earth magnets and some metal I can put under it. I also have some clear vynal so I can make grids. Thanks for the vid!!!
Cheeky Saver Great ideas!!
That's awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. Take care, Kim :)
