Emily is lucky to have you help with her truck. My brother is in car heaven watching this upload.
Tosh Time thank you and thanks for watching!
I'm confused, was he killed by the separation of a tie rod?
@@FixingCrappyCars 🤣
00:40 Yes, you should be able to wiggle it like you show. It's a ball joint at the knuckle end of the outer tie rod end, and it's a ball joint at the rack and pinion end of the inner tie rod.
Well Done My Friend!
Thank you for making these videos
Great video, thanks for sharing. I wish my tie rod was that easy to remove. I used your tips to make a video showing how I removed my stuck tie rods.
Kevin Nadeau cool! I'll have to check out out some time. Thanks for watching
Nice work!
txsviking thank you! Wasn't bad at all
Right on brother. Great tips. Ill have to keep them in mind. Seems Im doing more and more to Corey's truck now days ha!
Thanks! I hate spending 2-10x as much to take them to a shop... thats the main reason I do work myself most the time.
You made quick work out of this repair. Nice job.
T.O.A.G thanks!
Great video thanks brother. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks.
Scott Pearson TOOLS &MORE thanks! I still need to do more (probably ball joints). The steering still isn't right...have oversteer.
Nice and quick job!
Chaos Garage not bad at all, but need to do the ball joints too...that helped, but steering is still a tad sloppy
Not quite as easy and quick but not too bad. You save so much money doing it yourself though!
Haven't worked on a car in a few years now. Last thing I did was replace brake lines on a Taurus lol. When getting a bubble flare kit make sure you get the male and female pieces 😂😂
Gaia's Pupil I've never done brake lines... I'll have to on the satellite at some point tho!
Mannnnnnnnn Thanks For This Video Or yours you saved My pockets!

Those zerks can sometimes be a pain putting them in so I put the fittings in before I put the tie rod on the car. For alignment take a string or tape measure to align the wheels. Have your steering wheel straight measure at the back of the tires and the front of the tires. I use the outside groove in the tires to measure from. The measurement should be shorter in the front of the tires. You want to have a little toe in.
Great tip using the string. Maybe Ill try that method when I have to replace the ball joints...which are needed too/

I need to replace inner tie rods. I see two delco options : 45A0888 and 26100288 which is for 'nonvariable" steering. about 50.00 difference...but how do I tell which one works on my 2006 Trailblazer LS?
Thats a good question. Im not familiar with the difference.

Wish you would say what wrench to use in the tie rod end. You used 7/8 for the lock nut, but what wrench for the other nut on rack and pinion?
Oh man...sorry bud! I dont remember and no longer have that car. Best of luck!
@@HodgePodgeGarage Just food for thought the next time you do a video. Mention what size tools you use like wrench or socket size.

Walker Outdoors thank you!
I'm fixing to do a set on an 05 Grand Prix tomorrow I'm a video that they're a little bit different
Walker Outdoors I'd like to see...my f-150 was very similar to this.
had to do most of the front suspension on my 08 Chevy Uplander with only 100k miles, it still needs bearings, not hAppy about it.
I hear ya... We have had our trucks paid off for a while now and I cant see buying a new one till I cant fix ours...given the cost and time weigh out.
What happen to the front axel
I dont understand the question. The axle was fine and not replaced.

@@lionellavallee1919 no sir. Its 2wd
@@HodgePodgeGarage video was great just finished both outer to erode and set toe.
@@lionellavallee1919 excellent! Hope the vid helped.
You screwed it out 20 turns and screwed it back in 14, I thought it was supposed to be 20 times in
Brent Kendall nice catch lol. I only had two blocks to drive to the alignment place and did do the correct amount of turns off camera...
Inner tie ain’t no good you gon have to do this again.
Whoever bought it will. Lol. Sold that car years ago
@@HodgePodgeGarage okay lol
