I love how well you explain everything. So many settings optimization videos for software never actually tell you the reason for making changes so it's clear that you actually understand what you are doing!
always seem to find myself back at this video after having to restart my pc/redownload AE....You are such a calming person to get advice from whenever Im freaking out about re-doing ALL of my settings. I appreciate the great tips!
When you said “I hate that on a cellular level” I felt this. I’ve been searching for hours for a way to fix this and every video on UA-cam tries to fix it by doing everything other than explaining what’s going on. Thank you so much bro. Ily subbed
Turns out I thought reserving ram for other applications should be at the highest it can and maybe it was the reason my Ae was so slow, thank you so much for waking me up, king!
THANK YOU SOOOO much - Finally solved my playback problem - I didn't realise there was an option to change this in Preview I was just using the one in the comp (for the pause) that is a total game changer you are a life saver :) 🙏🙏🙏
@@melomaniakjm I have 64GB RAM. I do not do extra complexe edits as my works is mostly cuts and fades with the occasional slides and blurs. It still buffers and I still have to wait for prerenders. My setup is identical to what this dude has. Except my processor with is better.
Thank you so fucking much for explaining the paused resolution and the playback resolution, I have been using AE for a long time and actually never knew this, and it solved my stutter problem completely. I will now go and like every fucking video. THANK YOU.
CPU with higher frequency per core rather more cores with low frequency is a must for good performance in After Effects. GPU can be really low-end, like 1050Ti, it will be enough.
It’s all new to me since I’m literally just starting out tonight with AE. Off to a good start with these performance settings. You are very hyper but not unpleasantly so and with good humor. For the next year of my new Adobe CC subscription, will mostly be doing image import and export photo sequences (128 frames per) for sequence stabilization and maybe masking (once I figure out masking & complex sequential selections). Thank you for the running start.
When you're going over render settings, is that just explaining how to export the video or are these renders for the purpose of adding compositions back into the project for slower preview times? I'm a little confused, but I know I've heard someone mention this before. Might be helpful if you have a video on it or were to make one.
Hi, i am using after effect 2022 (22.1.1) with my 16gb ram and intel i5 8400, and gtx 1050ti, my after effect is very very very slow, some times give me warning out of memory, can you help me please :"
Hello, i just want to get started with After Effect... I'm using Quadro M2000M, 4gd dedicated, 2.7ghz, 32gb ram & 1tb SSD. But my PC lags while using After Effects 2021, especially while moving the playhead on timeline. Kindly advice on what to do to fix this and what to look out for more if I'm to get another laptop for smooth and seamless workflow?
this is just the video i was looking for. however how do you make the fast preview settings stay? im working on rotoscoping and when i switch back and forth between rotoscoping on layer and the full composition, it automatically makes it go back to full resolution
Het there, under QuickTime options under output module settings, I don’t have the video codec you use: the apple 4444 thing. I only have dnx…. And some dv25. Do u know what that means and how I can get the same settings as you? I’m not really good at this stuff, hopefully you know why it’s different in mine. Oh I also have the 2018 version of after effects
I'm using an internal sdd drive with a total of 237gb for my media cache. I'm getting this error message from After Effects- "Your disk cache folder is on a drive that does not have enough available space to safely store the full amount specified in your preferences." So I'm guessing a 500gb drive should be the minimum?
Any ideas for "Display Acceleration Disabled"? Graphic card: GTX 1660Ti Used to work well and then it stopped and shows this information :( Help, please :(

Super useful, your content is underrated. Best tut master
I'm just a motion designer and my only dream is a real-time ram preview. That can't be impossible? right adobe
Adobe has left the chat!
Yes...the multi frame rendering is coming for RAM preview. It will be faster...now depending on the complexity of your comp...

Import the ae-file into premiere pro. There is no rendertime, when you play it in PP. Edit in AE, update sequence in Premiere and play.

It doesn’t quite go into the sa level as detail as Lypur’s videos, but it gives you a great overview of the “basics” - so that you can start
