Their music has something very perennial about it. It never sounds dated and they always manage to stick to the style they created without sounding like they’re repeating themselves. That’s pretty rare.

my daughter is the 12 yr old that wears a '86 Black Celebration shirt! I let her wear it to the San Diego show on 12/6 and when she held that shirt up, Dave pointed at her (we were in 3rd row) and yelled at her " Yeah you know this song!!" while "World in my Eyes" was being performed. THAT was a surreal moment for a young fan that has become obsessed with their music, especially their early stuff. It's good to pass on the torch!!

I admit I admire both guys for many different reasons. Martin is so peaceful, introspective, reassuring, so deep like his songs whereas Dave is the energetic, charismatic, charming who has survived 3 ordeals. This interview reveals so much about their complex link...Dave has a hint of American accent due to his work with Soulsavers.
Martin seems healthier than Dave so I m scared. 45 worldwide concerts 😮... I m sorry, both are really exceptional singers. Women are all in love with Dave. Not me...although DM have always been out of this world. Greetings from France without google translator. I bought their wonderful album yesterday. It is so unfair for Andy who never lost himself in excesses because of fame 🎉😊

Hated them in the 80's. I was a metalhead. Grew to love them in the 90's because of the women in my life broadening my musical tastes. Now I'm in my 50's and I can't wait to see them at the Forum in Los Angeles. It'll be my 3rd. DM concert. Yay!!!

My favorite band since 1986. I introduced my kids to their music years ago. Taking my daughter to Vegas this month for her first show.
I been s fan since 88, taking my 10 year old son to the L.A. show in two weeks for his first DM concert . I am going solo to the Vegas show as well
New life in 1981 was one of the first record's I bought when I was 14 , I was and am still into them ,Gary numan ,Ultravox , Japan and more to this day . Class act
I’m going to the San Antonio show and was originally supposed to take my 16 year old daughter too, but plans fell through. ☹️ But I’m still going-2 days after Vegas, and cannot wait!!! How far are you traveling? I’m driving from central Arkansas-Little Rock metro area. Should be about a 10 hour drive. Ugh...but they’re so worth it! 💜

It's nice to see fame or their talent doesn't seem to have effected their ego's and they still seem as down to earth and modest as ever.
DM are just incredible... So humble despite all their success... I was a DM fan from day one, even before that when they went on as Composition of Music, and I am still the greatest DM fan, love all the songs and GHOSTS AGAIN doesn't change that at all, it is beautiful and so deep... Cannot wait for MEMENTO MORI... Thank you Dave and Martin for never give up, you are the sound of my life!..........................

Great interview and Dave nails grief- you don’t get over it, you just eventually integrate and maybe get used to the idea of the loss. Of course Dave says it so much more eloquently.

Ugh.
For me there is no life without DM. They've always been there. My obsession comes in waves, every once in a while there's nothing but DM but there are times when they get to "park in the second row" for a while. They never disappear though. DM is a feeling, it's the soundtrack to so many people's lives including mine. They both look amazing in this video and it's so enjoyable listening to their thoughts. Memento Mori is a great modern yet classic DM album that somehow makes me nostalgic for the future.

Been a huge fan of theirs since elementary. Got a tattoo of two ghosts December 2022 and called it my Memento Mori. I heard ‘Ghosts Again’ and immediately fell in love with them I saw the album title Memento Mori I was shook. I can’t wait to see them in the fall!

i got into Mode at age 16 because my boyfriend at the time, was into them. He looked *and still does acutally* so much like dave he couldve passed for his stunt double. Ive played them in my house since then forcing everyone in residence to like it or get out LOL my sister fell victim to the boy band saga of the 90s, i had her over for a visit in 2000 where she really listened to personal jesus for the first time. really paid attention it. she then asked me who wrote it for them i said *(rather loudly LOL) Martin wrote it as he writes 90% of their stuff.... she looked at me and said man the backstreet boys suck! LOLOL yes they do in that respect
Depeche Mode are a big inspiration to all, they made a difference, they always do, and though, they so successful, they stay humble. DM community and people who listen to DM, are the best people I ever met in my life, also when I went to see them on shows, the atmosphere is filled with pure love. Unity. Love DM, love the fand, love you All DM family all around the world 💜💙💚

That use of 'Never Let Me Down Again' in the first episode of The Last of Us was absolutely perfect.
I feel this year will be the year of Depeche Mode. Everything is coming together in a weird way, Last of Us and Cocaine Bear coupled with great new music!

I just love Dave and Martin. They're always a great experience to listen to. So alive and a great laugh. I was a great fan of DM from 1987 and 10 years ahead, but haven't really listened to their newer stuff (Exciter and beoynd). But even though I'm not going to listen to Memennto Mori, I still love the interviews.
Although Andy won’t be present, I am happy to see Martin and Dave back on tour. Will I be able to see them? Hopefully 😊

Ghosts again is an awesome song, I have listened to it over 150 times and it just brings chills to my spine its got that 80's feel like something from Black Celebration or MFTM or even Violator, just hoping there are a few more gems on this album. Depeche Mode has a special place in everyone's life and heart as we have grown up listening to this great band and I hope they keep on rocking like the stones for another 20-30 years!!!!

My 1st time seeing Depeche Mode was when I won tickets to see them at the Roxy in 2001. Seeing them in such a small venue was amazing. Since then I’ve seen them in big arenas. It’s still awesome but not the same

Great interview. Dave is right about how you never "get over" losing loved ones. OH!! Just curious, thinking of sadness and loss...is it just me, or does anybody else see what seems to be very deep pain or perhaps sorrow when you look at a photo of Martin? It's his eyes in particular that I'm talking about. Like you just want to give him a hug?

DM always has been unique band - there was no one else in the 80s who had such a unique music and style . People thought electronic music is weird - we played it like madmen . When the violator came with the remixes such as sea of sin and others - it was on the different level . No one did remixes back then . Listen to the Sea Of Sin - that track is from 1990 . You can still play it in the clubs and most people won’t even know it’s almost 33 years old .
