One of the many things to love about Led Zeppelin is, as you said, the live performances are a totally different experience than the studio version. The exquisite musicianship, creative and playful improvisation and range of emotion really shine through live. The Zeppelin rabbit hole is one of a kind, and one you won't regret.
"Stairway To Heaven" is more than THE antheme of the whole Rock History. It's THE revelation at all. Now you have given them your souls and they'll never give them you back.
Each live performance is unique, yet all the band members are able to go with how it flows. If you see them 3 nights in a row at the same place, each song will be different each night. Their performances here at MSG (1973) were amazing over the 3 nights, because they were for their movie The Song Remains The Same. They then were able to pick the best for the movie. Only 4 concert venues were recorded by Led Zeppelin, Royal Albert Hall (1970)* MSG (1973)* Earls Court (1975)* & Knebworth (1979). The K is silent in Knebworth. Any others are either bootleg, or only have audio & no visual. Though I do believe they did put out some live albums. Greatest band to ever grace the planet, each of them are musical geniuses, & together we’re the GODS OF MUSIC. Never was & never will be a band as great as them. I grew up in the '70's and the music was wonderful! I never got a chance to see Zeppelin live, so l'm so infinitely grateful that we have You Tube now so l can experience, at least in a small way, what it was like to see them live!
