@@HereComesTheGame Oh, yeah, there are a ton of mistakes and also plenty of censorship of religious terminology and symbols. Norki Norki has a recent Lost in Localisation video that is most comprehensive source of localization info for the game that I've seen.
I mentioned that it drove me insane that they did that. It's better than going back to Hyrule Castle on every game over, but it's still annoyingly inconsistent and feels like they're pouring salt in the wound. It's like they're mocking you.
ALTTP is one of the greatest Zelda games of all time along with OoT. As zelda has evolved, so did the gameplay. With newer games bringing more and new stuff each time.
AOL was inspired by the success of Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior in the US). That's why the gameplay is so different from LOZ. They returned to something closer to the original gameplay with ALTTP.
The item Ocarina of time item is involved in this game a link to the past. It's labeled as flute. Especially when you find it after getting the shovel in dark world. You find it in light world.
Sadly, I never had a Super Nintendo, I eventually did play the crap out of it via an emulator years later. That said, for me, it's the 3rd best game next to Majora's Mask & BOTW.
I think he meant like XP and stuff. You still power up but it's more in the Metroidvania sense of collecting loot and powers rather than the RPG sense of XP and level ups
As a kid growing up, I loved this game a whole lot. But after a recent replay through LttP, I think it's still a good game, but probably wouldn't break into my 10 top SNES games of all time as of now. Just a lot of friction with the way a lot of the maps were designed in this game. The light world and dark worlds have a lot of areas where you have to walk around a couple of screens just to go around an obstacle like a body of water or something like it. The dungeon design had some issues, but I always like to single out Skull Woods in the dark world as one of the more annoying designs in this game.
Looking at all these comments is it's really easy to have a Ford looking back perspective but take it from someone who grew up with these when they were brand spanking new and lots of ideas and designs to be flushed out. So you retro gamers sure have a interesting place to have all these opinions looking backwards
@HereComesTheGame I think it was the time period. Everyone wanted the same but brand new at the same time. The graphics at that point on a computer were next level. Explore. Fight a bunch of shit. VIII for the win bro.
I know the style has aged poorly now, but I really love that pre-rendered FMV CGI aesthetic from that era. It just look so cool, whether it's CRPGs like Fallout and Planescape Torment or JRPGs like the PS1 FF trilogy or survival horror like RE. It's just so cool looking
Are you British? Because over here in the states we NEVER pronounced Super Nintendo as the one syllable "SNES". It was written that way but pronounced as S-NES, Super NES, or Super Nintendo. Always. I look forward to your review on Ocarina Of Time and Link's Awakening. I grew up with these games so it's interesting to hear the perspective of someone that didn't.
I'm American, although I watched way too much Monty Python if that counts towards British-ness. It'll be a little while before I get to OoT and MM. I want to review Link's Awakening DX next year, but maybe I'll be able to fit OoT in next year too.
Why would Brits pronounce it with one syllable when they didn't even get the SNES? They had the Super Famicom, which obviously wouldn't shorten to 'SNES'.
It was called the SNES in PAL regions as well, though it did keep the SFC design and color scheme otherwise. For some reason only North America got a totally new design
Yes, yes it is!
Yes. Video over
"Zelda is your..." is a mistranslation. It's supposed to be "You are Zelda's..." (only hope).
I didn't know that! I bet there's a lot of interesting stuff that happened during the translation process for this game.

I'll have to check that out later, sounds cool. Thanks for the recommendation!
Let me save you all 16 minutes of your time.
Yes it is. And so is Link Between Worlds
I wish they'd rerelease ALBW on something else. I never had a 3DS but I've heard very good things
This guy knows what's up!
In zelda 2, the great palace had a checkpoint to start there at a game over. It's the only spot in the whole game that had a checkpoint.
I mentioned that it drove me insane that they did that. It's better than going back to Hyrule Castle on every game over, but it's still annoyingly inconsistent and feels like they're pouring salt in the wound. It's like they're mocking you.
If you have any affinity for Zelda 2, I highly recommend a fan made remake of it called Zalia (Zelda Again: Link is Adventuresome). It is phenomenal.
I'll have to check it out sometime, sounds fun
Ive come from the time this came out. It's hard in retrospect to tell anyone how good this was when it was released.
It's the best game in history. So yes, it's better than great.
I appreciate the Razor Ramon chip tune
Bad times don't last, but bad guys do.
@@HereComesTheGame Jake Roberts theme in there too right?
Yeah. I love slipping in wrestling game music in most of my vids lol

I never figured Dragon Quest was a big influence (I imagined it'd be more of an influence from stuff like Dragon Slayer) but that does make sense.
Interesting. Source for this, or just a guess?
"How can you say something so controversial yet so brave?"
I too enjoy Eric Andre
Its the greatest video game ever made. It can be finished in hour and a colorful world to explore.
Love this game. Stands the test of time
Yes, best Zelda of all time fight me Ocarina simps.
The item Ocarina of time item is involved in this game a link to the past. It's labeled as flute. Especially when you find it after getting the shovel in dark world. You find it in light world.
I didn't even watch this video, I came here after seeing the thumbnail just to say... YES, it is without question or doubt great.
Well, thanks for dropping by! Hope you're having a good day.

I just feel like the lack of leveling makes it meaningless to kill enemies unless its to open a door. Thats my only gripe
Level up from killing bosses and collecting heart containers. But you probably already knew that.

Yes
The best Zelda game is whatever Zelda you grew up with.
Yes, next question
FINAL FANTASY VIII was great!
FF VIII is definitely one worth checking out. I know it's a bit divisive but it confidently does its own thing and I really respect that.

What kind of title is this lol
Do you have any suggestions? I struggle with titles. Sometimes they come easily to me, other times it's harder to figure out. Any feedback is welcome.
No.
What makes you say that? I'd love to hear your perspective on the game.
