You spotted it too. Just pure romance eh. Mustang Valley to 4000m, Nepal was a that story for me in my 2nd yr of riding ever at 62! Thru the islands of Philippines was great too with lots of fruit!

      Exactly.
When people ask "What is it about motorbikes?"
That is pretty much the answer if not, a large part of it.

Was awesome to meet you and see that i made it to your adventure @ the 13-minute mark.
i was pissed with myself that i didnt have my phone on me to get a selfie with you so the mates (Anthony & dave) i was riding with believed me.
but now that it's on this vid i have been able to prove it happened.
    Great meeting you
    Thanks

Adam, thank you for showing a different side of the motorcycle world. You, as the professional driver on the track and road with so much experience, have special rights to talk about something that is intentionally done by the marketing of our times. The truth about artificial creation of our needs and looking for things we do not really need or replacing things which do not have to be replaced. I was thinking about the new T7 for some time now, but I have so many great memories with my current motorcycle. You have inspired me to dust off my old 1991 Honda Transalp which I have not ridden for 8 years now. I have spent every spare time, every weekend from 2005 to 2016 on my motorbike before. It took me everywhere and showed things I would not see before.
Greetings from Poland, all best and keep doing what you do! I love your inner peace :).

Love these videos about the Warhorse....In July we did a tour from England to Ireland, I was on my ZZR1400 and I saw a XRV 750 Africa Twin for sale on the first day in Wales on the way through to the ferry, these videos sprang to mind so I bought it and left it at the Air BnB till I could collect it when I got back from Ireland.....just hope my Mrs doesn't meet you, she was fuming 😂

Adam, glad you made it to a clean spot for "open heart surgery' as you say. What an incredible trip mate. This drop really puts the campfire chat into perspective. Trusting the bike, trusting old technology to solve tricky problems quickly and "easily", and using all the horsepower you need and not letting all the horsepower of a present day bike use you! Once again, what an incredible trip and thanks for another great Motology offering. I love seeing 750+ cc bikes with soft luggage!

    Warhorse she is a beauty ! ♥
Trustfull, strong and a heck of a piece of a Japanese enduro motorcycle....
I ride her little light sister, the Honda Dominator 650ccm RD02. 32 years old from 1991 and only 168 kg wet ...single piston, twin exhaust....fixed her this summer with a set of brand new headpipes and silencers in high-quality stainless steel, did a engine renovation and gave her a new piston....Uhm! she runs like a dream now...My Thunderwomen!
Great to see motorbike riders like you Adam letting a good old African Twin shine again as the bright star she is...thank you for another great video !

24:27 i really feel the pleasue Mr Rieman has when he is summoning the warhorse for the next episode of the life she was build for. In my opinion the nearest answer to your question at 16:40 is none other than the Warhorse's descendant - the modern Africa Twin. No impressive power figures. Suspension is not sporty stiff. Maintenance intervals are long and of course, Honda reliability :)
That's why it's my dream bike and it's inspired by you and the Warhorse's adventures of course!

Y'all hit the nail on the head with the discussion of ADV marketing. I live in Ohio near Cleveland in the US and must ride about two hours before i can ride a gravel road. Almost everything is paved or gravel in the US or restricted to motor vehicles. As i began traveling more on my old KTM 390 i began to realize that a sport touring bike would be a better fit than an ADV bike for my area. Great videos! I have become a better rider from watching them! Thank you!!!

Love watching the landscape of the outback . Amazing journey for yourself and the warhorse .
The Conversation around the camp fire about the marketing of the adventure bikes got me thinking too …. We should all know that they are so much capable of long journeys across the world , more manufacturers are getting the message across that in the right hands these bikes are more capable than what most enduro riders think they can do . We all support the under dogs and to see a mid weight bike amongst the fast enduro bikes holding there own is an amazing sight .
Great to see the new and old adv bikes in this episode riding together in tandem . 👏👌

I have one from 1995. RD07. In green. 2nd owner. Bought from my brother back then.
And since 2020 I've been driving a new AF Adventure Sports ES DCT.
I've always driven Hondas. Never had any problems. The RD07 is a beautiful motorcycle. But has never seen hard terrain. Street and dirt roads. Not more. It would be a shame to drive it off-road with it. Only about 66'/67' kilometers down. With the new one I've already got 12' down. Haven't had any problems yet either.
You should take one of these with you on tour. Without switching gears is really good.
An old and a new AF. That would be cool.

Awesome video Adam love the conversation with how some dealers are out to portray these Adv bikes as some capable enduro bike. Although they are extremely off capable bikes like you say 95% of riders will never attempt half of it. I currently run an 890 Adv R and do push it off road but what I think should be happening as these bikes getting more exposure and advertised as the Adv bikes they are meant for. Its about longevity and adventure, exploration of the unknown and enjoying the ride. Great video 👍

What you guys are doing out there, there are only few people can do. I could not make it 2 miles into a wilderness out there. You are leaving a dream only few of us could.
Thank you for sharing this and inspiring others.

Being a South Aussie, I make an effort to get up to the flinders every year and never experience the same thing twice. Such a diverse and beautiful area. You really did the area justice through your great storytelling.

    Another awesome video! Thanks Adam!
I’m curious why you guys were running tubes on the Norden? It comes with tubeless tires… I can understand bringing a tube as back up on remote rides, but wondered if there was another reason?
I recently replaced my ‘06 950 Adv with a new Norden Expedition and have been looking forward to hearing you take on it after your proper ride… I’m loving mine so far… REALLY glad I got the Expedition… the suspension is super impressive… Cheers!

You make a great point halfway in about the spec sheet wars. And showing us all that a bike with what, 60hp?, is doing everything you ask of it. Good stuff. Like the old race engineer would say, simplify and add lightness.

Australia has to be Wonderland for ADV touring, especially the kind you do. It's so nice to follow your trips and dream about following you.

Man, what a ride! It's a sunny weekend and literally perfect weather for going out for a long ride and clear out the head. Unfortunately family commitments leave no chance for today.
Cheers to warhorse, friendship and the open acres in Australia.
