Guy you have the best videos on Incra Products period. I have the TS LS wonder fence system with the Incra Master Lift II Router Lift and the Incra 1000 HD and the miter express. Since I am a casual woodworker I come to your videos to re a quaint myself on set up and calibration when ever I need to do precision work. The details in your videos are exquisite. 😁🛫
At 5:45 a process for aligning the fence is shown, which is incorrect. Do not make the fence perpendicular to the blade, make it perpendicular to the miter bar. Any inaccuracy in your blade to miter slot alignment on the tablesaw will translate into inaccuracies if you align to the blade instead of to the miter slot. If you think about using the miter gauge on a router table you don't have way to align to the blade anyway. Always align the miter fence to the miter bar for best accuracy.
My only wish is Incra made a version of the 5000 sled like the MiterExpress sled... with a t-track and removable miter gauge (to fit any miter gauge). The MiterExpress is great, but I'd like a larger version, the size of the 5000. It would allow you to pick and choose the miter gauge you want.
being able to adjust the miter gauge is a nice feature, but a better practice would be to adjust the saw blade parallel to the miter slots, then adjust all other tools the the miter slots, just a comment nice video l
Adjusting the table saw blade…Would be a great thing to be able to do. Bosch contractor saw is not adjustable (pathetically dangerous and poorly engineered) these may be a solution for someone
Guy I see at 7:50 you show the rear of the 1000HD attached to the fence. Yours has 2 "lock nuts" on the top of the miter gauge. I bought mine in Oct of 2014. Mine has ONLY the two 1/4 x 20 hex-head bolts which attach the gauge to the fence. Has Incra made a change to the 1000HD? Thanks to your excellent instructions, I have re-tuned my miter gauge and my miter express cross cut sled to now be PRECISION instruments.
With the Miter Express and the Incra miter gauge, is there a problem with a Sawstop saw? It looks like the metal fence of the miter gauge comes very close to the blade. I'm about to equip my shop with all new tools, and the Incra products look like the right choice, as long as the proximity isn't a problem?
Thanks for the video. I thought some of the advantages to a sled included zero-clearance for the cut and no friction on the work piece against the table. But if the right side of the sled isn't attached, neither of these advantages can be realized. Is it possible to attach a sacrificial fence to the back of the sled which attaches both sides so it behaves like a regular crosscut sled?
There is no real friction and the stationary side is set for zero clearance as seen in video. Even on a DIY sled your stacking one material over the other and sliding both over table top. The precision on this is on angle cuts your using the miter gauge. The Nicara is a very precision miter guage once setup.
I purchased the 1000HD and found it to be somewhat flimsy. Adjusting the bar for a SawStop miter slot, I had to recall crank down on the toy Allen screws to get the nylon bushings to expand in order to take out the slop in the fit. The hardware is so small and unsubstantial that a.) I bent the tiny Allen wrench they provided, and b.) one of the 3 screws stripped. The bar needs to be sent back to Incra, and while they're kind enough to replace it, this is an enormous inconvenience for a piece of precision equipment that is only worth the price if it works as advertised.
I did my V27 for my DeWalt 7491 which as over wide miter slots. Had no real problem adjusting. Your slot must be really over wide. V27 has all degrees stops I use and very sturdy and precise.
I believe the HD has the 1 degree increments of adjustment and the SE gives you 40. That is the only difference I can see. I have the SE and am more than happy with it!!!
HD gives you a protractor plate that has a 180 degree angle stops in 1 degree increments with special stops located at 22-1/2 degrees and a steel vernier scale that reads to 1/10 degree…why its called High Definition

Looks like a whole lotta precision! Really nice. I must have those

I need to make a jig for a sliding table saw, is there a way to block this miter gauge??
Excellent review and demonstration of the INCRA Miter Gauges and the Miter Express. well done Guy!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What do you think about the upside down scale on the extension bar of the 1000HD miter?

Great information, thanks!
Great job showing and explaining how to use.
Glad you were able to take something away from it!
Thanks for the video.

Thanks from Russia!
Just bought the 1000 SE with fence why would i need the cross cut sled?
Can you add the 18"/31" bar and flip top stop the v27 miter gauge?
Absolutely! All the Incra miter gauges accept the fence and flip stop.
VERY NICE INCRA TOOLS...
guy,can you do a full review on the incra new v127 miter gauge.tnx!

What’s the difference between the 1000 HD and the 1000SE

Good video but Incra needs to work not over engineering their products. There's so many things that could easier to use.
Well that just took all the fudge out of woodworking. Wears the thrill now? Lol
more like ull be more obsessed over 1/64th of an inch that you should ever be
Nice one...
I just cant get used to my good piece being on the left side of the blade. UGH
