@Damien Jones I have no idea where you are from, but I am born, raised and still living in NYC and I see the stupidity of Cuomo and De Blasio every day. De Blasio in particular, along with Nancy Pelosi and just-resigned NYC Health Commish Oxiris Barbot all blew off the virus and with big smiles said "Come to Chinatown!" in an effort to show how harmless the virus was. They reduced subway trains by 25 percent (about 1700 cars) forcing people to crowd even more, spreading the virus even easier than before. Cuomo put infected people in nursing homes killing many thousands and is currently denying responsibility and blocking investigations. Trump gave a boatload of ventilators, transformed a popular center into a hospital and also sent over a Navy hospital ship but Cuomo barely touched either. Cuomo also praised Trump until Cuomo was told that wasn't to be the narrative. Meanwhile De Blasio forbids certain crowds from gathering but has no problem with violent "protestors" destroying everything in sight. I can go on and on, so really don't tell me how it is here, I know.

This is a great show but the two greatest sitcoms of all time are the Andy Griffith show and Sanford and son. In the first five years Don Knotts was on the show the Andy Griffith show was the best ever. Think about a show that had a physical comedic genius in Knotts and the greatest child actor ever in Ron Howard! What made this work so beautifully was Griffith threw his ego out the window and played his character as a straight man to Barney Fife. Toss in the charm of Aunt Bea, played to perfection by Frances Bavier and you had a perfect storm. Sanford and Son had the magnificent comic timing of Redd Foxx as Fred Sanford playing off Aunt Esther, portrayed magnificently by Lawanda Page. How about, "who you calling ugly sucker?" Kennedy in the 60s, Reagan in the 80s, and Trump in the 2010s. And now with Bidenflation history is repeating itself.
There’s one thing ironic and hypocritical and is to this day. Archie is a staunch conservative and works a union job and you have a lot of them today that do the same thing, but their jobs force union membership. Unions have always been strongly Democratic and hated the higher uppers keeping all the dough and the workers fending for scraps.
There was a time when both major parties supported unions. You may recall that Ronald Reagan was shot after attending a meeting with the AFL CIO. Reagan was also president of the screen actors guild. I believe it was somewhere around GHWB that unions became more Left-leaning and Republicans mistakenly did very little to stop that from happening.
@@kevinm.8682 okay, thanks for clarifying that! My last job years ago was Teamster’s and half the folks working at the sites were staunch conservatives.
@@michelinesantucci4474 Capitalism is not for the faint at heart. You need to provide a service or create a product that people want, need, and/or desire. The problem is most people have never so much as operated a lemonade stand. They don't know how to get in the game, stay in the game, and up the value of their game. I have a multitude of jobs. Some are hourly rates and some rates are derived from my skills as a entrepreneur. I will tell you that life is much better when you can create your own pay raises and set your own rates according to what the market is willing to pay for said service or product. So I know what's like to earn less than $15 an hour, and I know what's like to earn $150 an hour and all points in between. But to have reached that $150 an hour level, I had to bust my butt doing a lot of promoting and a lot of eating pretzels and cookies for lunch until arrived at that level.
@@kevinm.8682 It was during Reagan's term, maybe even prior to that, when unions became more leftist, and that's one reason why Reagan and many other conservatives came out against unions. They are generally corrupt and useless these days.
The character of Archie Bunker was created to be a mockery of conservativism and conservative values and Carroll O’Conner (Archie) played him to the hilt as such. In reality, O’Conner was every bit as liberal as Rob Reiner (Meathead).
He was left of center, but not nearly as bad as Reiner. I think the writers made both sides play the straight man from time to time. That wouldn't happen today.
But America fell in love with the character called Archie Bunker much to the dismay of Norman Lear. You will notice how the character of Archie Bunker becomes much softer in the later episodes. By the end of the series run, Archie has a Jewish niece, a Jewish business partner, a black housekeeper, Spanish workers at his bar, a gay waiter, and a Catholic cook. He is offering financial help to the Meathead with no strings attached. He goes from a laborer to successful businessman. At the end, he is well to do.

Kennedy in the 60s, Reagan in the 80s, and Trump in the 2010s. And now with Bidenflation history is repeating itself.
Meathead is from Chicago, but has a NY accent.
Ed N fake name you concerned about accent what about your fake name

2:45. " It's William G. Harding, Arch."
Thank you for describing Capitalism
After all these years Rob Reiner is still a meathead liberal.
What in the world is that thing on the wall behind Archie at 1:05 ?
Archie would have a blast with Biden
true

Saint Archie Bunker ⚔️
Brandon forgets to tell the truth too..🥔
Sounds familiar..🤦♀️🥶
I would give Mike the boot. You married my daughter, and you support her.
50 years later and we are arguing about the same stuff. With the same lame arguments.
the vietnam war was the big issue at the time and it was started and escalated by the democrats
Johnson was a Democrat
And Meathead never blamed LBJ for starting the war.
Incorrect. It was started by the Eisenhower administration Escalated by Johnson administration.
Mike talks pretty big considering that someone else is paying his rent.
That's besides the point. The fact is he's right on Nixon terrible corrupt president
Wtf does it matter who pays the fucking rent stupid
@@bikefixextreme2316 I think cause he is a grown up married man who cannot support himself let alone his spouse
Grown ass sponge. He should be ashamed.
@@earlviney5212 Even if that is true, this is only one of the many arguements between Mike and Archie.
It is annoying that Mike has no problem with living off Archie and then argue with him about every possible political issue.
