Oftentimes, a breakup is caused by a series of decisions that piled up and led to the inevitable separation. If you are dating someone who is mature, there's a great chance that your ex's reason for wanting to break up is valid - that they have been thinking about it for a while. As a response, some of us gets logical & we end up trying a lot harder to convince our ex's to take us back again.
In this video, Clay Andrews recommends tapping into the emotional connection that you have with your ex and leveraging that to make them what to get back together with you. Curious on how to do that? Watch the whole video!

Hi, Clay. I have been watching your videos a lot. I like the way you present this information. My ex and I broke up two years ago. We remained friends afterwards and talk every single day. Yes, he is long distance, but what I noticed is that as soon as I stopped begging and pleading for him to get back together, he has been much more open and attentive. We only hug when we way good-bye, but he does flirt with me, isn't dating anyone else, and even told me I am his best friend. He is almost 55, and I am 45; therefore, yes, it is a much slower process for us older people than it is for younger ones. My ex helps me out a lot, and I help him out a lot. When I lost my job, he help d me pay my bills, and he even sent me money to go to the doctor before my insurance kicked in. The care is there. We just don't hold hands or kiss or anything romantic. He does, however, flirt with me. I set a boundary that I won't go beyond platonic unless he really wants a committed relationship. Long story made short: we are VERY close friends. I am letting him set the pace, but I am certain we will get back together eventually. I did try dating someone else, but that didn't work out. I dated someone else for almost a year, but we remained close friends, even started becoming closer after I broke up with the other guy. The breakup with the other guy was in May. He has dated no one since me, and before I started watching your videos, I realize I should have just remained patient. I kinda messed that part up, but here we are five months later with some major progress. For him to tell me I am his best friend and to admit that he is emotionally attached to me is progress beyond my expectations. I know some people would say that two years is a really long time to be platonic friends, but my ex is naturally a very closed off person. He doesn't trust that easily, and it just takes him time to open up. He has, though. For anyone thinking that it isn't possible to have a close friendship with an ex, you're wrong. He is my best friend, and I feel very confident that we will be more than just friends eventually.

Hi clay, I have been following all of your advice and I have now started dating my ex again. We have gone out 6 or 7 times and she sent me a romantic song that reminds her of us. I know she still wants us both to date other people so my question is how long would you consider doing this before having a real conversation?

I was dumped 5 months ago and have been in no contact for 90 something days. before no contact just 3 brief phone calls with no contact between those. She has me completely walled out of her life. And is on top of the world with her rebound. Acts like im some POS thats never existed. I enrolled in clays ex recovery program. I have studied it and practice it. Its definitely good advise to live by I even use some of the techniques in my regular life daily especially in my business relationships. (Non sexual strictly professional) but many of the techniques are good communication skills. I haven't made any contact with her since I've been doing the course. Just because she has me walled out and blocked. If someone has you blocked they clearly arent going to be respective to making any contact with them. Im pretty well done at this point and moving on.

The closer it came to move in with the individual from a dating sight, she pulled back, she has sent a "we need to not see or communicate with each other " letter.
I have given her space, have reached out a little, with no response.
A person I have felt would never turn her back, stay my Best Friend, is holding to her decision.

Time went on, long story medium, I became single, she left hubby, asked to try dating I agreed, one thing she focuses on made her feel unappreciated
She sot out internet, sold her place, fixed his up moved in

I've been concentrating so much on other things, to improve my life for my well being. Yes, theres a part of me that dose, trust is hard thing for me
There were somethings, though I believed anyway, that were said, that cant be taken back
Not sure if it's a good idea. Thus, why I stay focused but single. Rite now, I really dont feel I'm relationship material

We cooled off, then suddenly he doesn't love me anymore, and after a month he has this new girl. Not contacting him, after I found out that he has a new girl, we are totally talking after he said that he doesn't love me anymore. I asked him if he has a new girl, then he denied. When I talk to the girl, it was confirmed. They are not together yet, but they are so close, since she was the friend that I was being jealous of. Hahaha, the three of us are in same section, so we are classmates, they are not sensitive to me. They do things so careless.

there was no reaching out at all for the past 7 months. I sent him a happy New Years because I felt I was in a good place but he only replied in kindness wishing me all the best. THE END and back to nothing. no contact..... he did unfollowed me on everything.... I still want to work on this. I sent him a dm a month later no reply. please..... advise.... unlikely to meet up anytime soon due to the current global issue.

Hi Clay, Its just all confusing... she was the one that suddenly out of the blue with no discussion to end it a few months back, I told my ex how I felt about her in a good way a few days ago, she said she stands by her decision and we should be friends, but I know you find it hard, so maybe we should not contact each other for a while so that I could get over her... then blocked me, less than 24 hours later she randomly massages me as if nothing had happened and has done so for a few days, I love her dearly but I just don't understand the logic to all this.

I have to disagree. Sometimes, people are complicated and there is no manual for everyone. I don’t wish to play games but most of the time I’m torn whether to talk to my ex or not. At times, I care and sometimes I don’t. Emotions are complicated. My ex was so insecure that I just gave up.
