Germae Anne okok so if you follow him on twitter he is so mean to his fans literally he bullies them and attacks them all the time I've witnessed it a couple of times he gets mad at people for rting his tweets or replying it's honestly ridiculous so much talent wasted
I knew Javier when I was doing merchandise for In The Heights (original off-Broadway production), and he was one of the sweetest. most genuine people I had ever met. I also know he has used his visibility to advocate for many important issues, e.g. HIV/Aids awareness. So your comment about his tweets surprises me. I'm not going to call you out just yet until I have a chance to research, but it's difficult for me to believe that he is "trashy" or "bullying". He truly is one of the people I have respected most in this city and this industry, which can be very ugly and daunting, but I also know that there are a lot of trolls and generally superficial, selfish people who can make it very difficult for someone in the public eye to have a relatively normal life. Javier has seen his share of real ugliness and maybe he's started pushing back a little, for which I wouldn't blame him. But again, I will do my research first before rushing to judgement. And btw, he is amazingly talented and IMHO sings Hamilton better than Lin-Manuel. Just my 3 cents.

Well, most of the cast doesn't look like the original one because it would be stupid to cast people based on their looks, and because the show pretty much proved that you don't need to look like the person you're portraying, otherwise we would have a bunch of old white men rapping.

The "miscast" opens the play to so many new realities, you can generate a completely different story with changing the genre of the character while maintaining the narratives. I understand that it is not the idea and that the characters are the same but it makes me ask the possibilities.

James is amazing and can make anything sound incredible. I LOVED this performance... but better? NAH ! Renee is just as good in every role and is a GOD(dess) as Angelica. Her vocals are just so powerful and emotive and technically skilled.

This awesome all the way around, but the little bit of soul styling that Inglehart adds? It's so light that you forget that it's not "appropriate" to the material so much that you can't hear it any other way. Of course, Angleiica "growls" when she sings "and to your union and the hope that it provides, may you always be satisfied." because in this version, Inglehart really pushes how badly Angelica wants that to be true. But those big soul growls leads into the almost whisper that, again with a little soul styling, comes out like a heart wrenching realization: "and i know, she'll be happy as his bride, and I know, he'll never be satisfied, i'll never be satisfied."
All this is a great example of Inglehart knowing exactly what his voice does/can do/works, making it so that his performance matches it, and thus not just showing us a new side to a character, but never losing any authenticity. Angelica is a soul singer, she bends the notes, as she sings her heart out, and it feels incredibly natural because Inglehart grounds it so well into what he does so well.
