this comment made me cry. It's beautiful to see that you don't hate who you were, you just found yourself in this chaos that we call life... So lovely, thank you for that.
I love how with this miscast opportunity he didn’t just sing the song in a male key and gave a good vocal performance- he put his own pain and emotion to connect to this song and strayed from the melody to really make the song his own and to give it his personal touch. He’s brilliant
Ok. This performance is fucking unbelievable. Anyone who doesn’t like this, there is something wrong with you. I am literally looking at the facial expressions Jeremy makes, every slight pause, how he transitions to each note flawlessly. This man, is a jewel. How he doesn’t have more recognition than he already does, baffles me. This man is fucking amazing and NO ONE could tell me otherwise.
Yesssss like he was gonna be in the greatest showman but got replaced by zac Efron But he’s in the sitzprobe and other things. It breaks my heart that he was robbed of a chance to break into main stream 🥺
Here are the lyrics of this song: It's not simple to say Most days I don't recognize me These shoes and this apron That place and its patrons Have taken more than I gave 'em It's not easy to know I'm not anything like I used to be Although it's true I was never attention sweet center I still remember that girl She's imperfect but she tries She is good but she lies She is hard on herself She is broken and won't ask for help She is messy but she's kind She is lonely most of the time She is all of this mixed up And baked in a beautiful pie She is gone but she used to be mine It's not what I asked for Sometimes life just slips in through a back door And carves out a person And makes you believe it's all true And now I've got you And you're not what I asked for If I'm honest I know I would give it all back For a chance to start over And rewrite an ending or two For the girl that I knew Who be reckless just enough Who can hurt but Who learns how to toughen up when she's bruised And gets used by a man who can't love And then she'll get stuck and be scared Of the life that's inside her Growing stronger each day 'Til it finally reminds her To fight just a little To bring back the fire in her eyes That's been gone but it used to be mine Used to be mine She is messy but she's kind She is lonely most of the time She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie She is gone but she used to be mine
If anyone ever has a hard time understanding the concept that performance has more contributing to it than just vocals, SHOW THEM THIS! Although he could stand in one spot with no expression and still amazing me, he captures so much with his body and face.
Just had a miscarriage with a baby I wasn’t planning but after years of depression and unemployment I scraped myself together to be the best mom I could for two months prepping for this little girl. I needed this song. I needed a safe place to land and a place to heal in private.
I have never cried while listening to this song and suddenly it’s 3am and i’m fucking bawling in the dark in my room. Holy shit Jeremy is a god. I need a Waiter rendition pronto!
My number one most unrealistic wish ever is to sound exactly like Jeremy Jordan whenever I want when I sing but I’m a fifteen year old girl so that’s not happening anytime soon
OOOooooh! That would be cool. He just has to leave Supergirl first, where his talents are practically not valued enough by giving him a practically insignificant role.
He's the best kind of vocalist...one who truly is a storyteller and takes you on an emotional journey. I am a music teacher and my students always ask...what kind of music do I like...my answer is...music that moves me. Man oh man...Jeremy is a master at his craft.
About half way through it, I realized he got me, about two thirds through I was starting to cry… by the end I was a mess, one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard. seriously, wow…this man can sing bravo
Allow me to introduce you to the Wonderful World that is Jeremy Jordan. He's a Broadway singer and plays a few roles on TV shows Literally look him up and binge-watch every single video there is. (I'd recommend "Run Away With Me", "At Last", "I've told You Now", "The Next Ten Minutes Ago" and many more!)
@@morgannotlefay been in the wonderful world for just over a week now. Watched A LOT of UA-cam and Newsies on Disney+... Canny get enough. @@MFJones452 He also plays the character "Varian" in "Tangled The Series" on Disney+. He gets a few songs there, too. Glad to have you in the wonderful world!! XD
Wow, that was so amazing, that he combined acting, storytelling, dancing, and singing at the same time, that was like a film in less than 4 minutes. This guy deserves an oscar
I don’t understand how one person can have so many emotions on one song? In the immortal words of Salt and Peppa. What a man what a man what a mighty mighty good man.
1 million of these views are me when i fell asleep with this on loop, doing the dishes, doing homework, basically any free time i have i’m watching this
It's a beautiful song and I love Sara's and Jessie's versions, but damn! He poured everything into it and let's face it Jeremy Jordan's everything is an overwhelming excess of talent. Why in god's name is he trapped in that trainwreck, Supergirl.
Eh, it's the CW. They don't pay that well if you aren't Jared or Jensen. Don't you have to wonder if these are his primary years for parts then is he wasting them being second fanboy to the left on Supergirl? He won't be young and adorable forever.
+lsbloom hmmm can’t imagine why anyone would want to be paid good money to be on a tv show gaining different acting opportunities, working with and meeting all sorts of actors, directors, producers, establishing a world wide fan base, traveling all over the world to connect with those fans all while continuing to sing and preform live at every opportunity? How would that help him be in greater demand as a popular lead when he does choose to come back to Broadway? Hmmmm
STARTING rates for a cw show is between $15,000 and $20,000 an episode, that is for someone who doesn't have experience or a team of managers and lawyers negotiating for them, he would be closer to $50,000. I work in theatre and even Broadway minimums (the highest pay tiers in the country) are no where close to that much. Of course Jeremy Jordan is going to be making over the minimum contract salary, but I guarantee it still doesn't compare to what he makes per episode on Supergirl.
Come on, people. The point is he's working only for a paycheck and not a very good one in the grand scheme of acting. He isn't meeting directors or producers or making industry contacts or doing anything that he's going to put on his reel. He's trapped in Vancouver 9 months a year shooting for maybe 2 minutes of quippy, hammy screentime on a $(&)#( show with terrible writing and no budget. Tangled is probably better for him--at least those are Disney contacts--and he could do that when he hasn't wasted the young and handsome part of his career. There are only going to be fewer roles for him on Broadway or on TV as he gets older. And that's all I'm saying. The opportunity cost of sitting on the CW in a terrible guest star+ role is pretty high.
I want a Jeremy Jordan version of every song in the world.

#LINNAMONROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
nothing but respect for my god
WTF?!!!
It me way too long to realize that this may be a Newsies reference
out of all the comments, this is my favorite
I'm literally his biggest fan
Jordan Doww I think I’m willing to challenge you on that one 😂
doubt that.
debatable.
WRONG. I turned straight for this guy.
I didn’t think I could become a bigger fan, but after seeing him live yesterday I stand corrected. I would die for him. Also, I’m 6”2 😂
Best male version of this song, too bad cause it is not on Spotify or no studio version.
If you get the Musi it’s like UA-cam music but you don’t have to pay for all the normal functions of a music app
This is in there
He doesn't need studio version.
Pola&Pola I think what they meant was that they wanted to be able to listen to it somewhere else than youtube
@@megl9638 i got it but official release can also be 'live' not necessarily clear, updated studio version
Rob Houchen also does a gorgeous version!
I forgot why I had a crush on Jeremy Jordan. Now I remember.
i was confused on why people had crushes on actors for years. broadway changed that all together hahaha
I love how with this miscast opportunity he didn’t just sing the song in a male key and gave a good vocal performance- he put his own pain and emotion to connect to this song and strayed from the melody to really make the song his own and to give it his personal touch. He’s brilliant
I’ve watched this an unhealthy amount of times.
I watch it every night
Honestly same
If you’re watching it an unhealthy amount of times, that means you’re not watching it enough
Same.
How rude of him to be so perfect
I know like why does he have to suck up all of the talent in the world so I don't get any xD
I wish I had just a fraction of this man's singing talent.
I KNOW RIGHT HES SO AMAZING LIKE HOWWW
This man is fucking amazing and NO ONE could tell me otherwise.
and suddenly I completely understand why he left supergirl... Damn, he's too good for that show! He sounds amazing!
Star D I KNOW BUT STILL I MISS WINN
Then he came back after 1 season 😂
Jeremy Jordan deserves more big roles on the screen and in broadway
I MEAN HAVE DIRECTORS SEEN AND HEARD THIS MAN?!
Yesssss like he was gonna be in the greatest showman but got replaced by zac Efron
But he’s in the sitzprobe and other things. It breaks my heart that he was robbed of a chance to break into main stream 🥺
@@poppyberesford5895 aw that’s awful, I’ll continue support him though!
ikr!! i'm convinced that the only reason he isn't is that he's 5'8" which is so annoying
he was Seymour off broadway in LSoH! i saw him and he was so good, but i agree, he is so talented and i would love to see him more.
Here are the lyrics of this song:
It's not simple to say
Most days I don't recognize me
These shoes and this apron
That place and its patrons
Have taken more than I gave 'em
It's not easy to know
I'm not anything like I used to be
Although it's true
I was never attention sweet center
I still remember that girl
She's imperfect but she tries
She is good but she lies
She is hard on herself
She is broken and won't ask for help
She is messy but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up
And baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone but she used to be mine
It's not what I asked for
Sometimes life just slips in through a back door
And carves out a person
And makes you believe it's all true
And now I've got you
And you're not what I asked for
If I'm honest I know I would give it all back
For a chance to start over
And rewrite an ending or two
For the girl that I knew
Who be reckless just enough
Who can hurt but
Who learns how to toughen up when she's bruised
And gets used by a man who can't love
And then she'll get stuck and be scared
Of the life that's inside her
Growing stronger each day
'Til it finally reminds her
To fight just a little
To bring back the fire in her eyes
That's been gone but it used to be mine
Used to be mine
She is messy but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone but she used to be mine
disappointed that he was cast as pomatter and not jenna
Same :)
I know right?
the man is literally everyone who has ever watched theatre's dream, he takes every song to a new level and puts his whole heart into every note
If anyone ever has a hard time understanding the concept that performance has more contributing to it than just vocals, SHOW THEM THIS! Although he could stand in one spot with no expression and still amazing me, he captures so much with his body and face.
Ron De Luna That’s what they said. He could’ve done nothing expressive and still been amazing, but he goes the extra mile.
1:39 to me is a wonderful example of this
Just had a miscarriage with a baby I wasn’t planning but after years of depression and unemployment I scraped myself together to be the best mom I could for two months prepping for this little girl. I needed this song. I needed a safe place to land and a place to heal in private.
I have never cried while listening to this song and suddenly it’s 3am and i’m fucking bawling in the dark in my room. Holy shit Jeremy is a god. I need a Waiter rendition pronto!
wait what its 3 am rn and im doing the same thing ugh jeremy
Embur I'm the opposite - I cry almost every time.
This was me right now.
3:14 to the end is my favorite. it's broken down and so emotional. and when he looks up and his eyes... i mean.. his eyes
My number one most unrealistic wish ever is to sound exactly like Jeremy Jordan whenever I want when I sing but I’m a fifteen year old girl so that’s not happening anytime soon
Oof that is literally me but a year older lol.
Same hahahaha. But whenever i sing this song I don't know if I'm good or I'm just the one who hear my own voice hahaha
Haha me too. One day😂
Jude Marvie Fuentes saaaaaame
This is me but 4 years older
Vivziepop saw this and was like “this. This is the parental angst that I NEED”
Yes lmao
Yeeesss hahaha
proof once again that jeremy jordan can sing literally anything
He is just... ugh. I love him so much. Please do a run as Dr Pomatter! Karen and Jimmy together again #smashforever
AMEN TO THAT
Kim Falcione omg!!! Exactly what I thought!!!!!
Kim Falcione Gah! What a MISSED OPPORTUNITY!!!!
OOOooooh! That would be cool. He just has to leave Supergirl first, where his talents are practically not valued enough by giving him a practically insignificant role.
I mean I love him on Supergirl but I mean he is kind of wasting his talent on the show I want him back on broadway...
He's the best kind of vocalist...one who truly is a storyteller and takes you on an emotional journey. I am a music teacher and my students always ask...what kind of music do I like...my answer is...music that moves me. Man oh man...Jeremy is a master at his craft.
this man’s voice im literally going to watch everything he’s in because he’s perfect
He'd sing a beast Empty Chairs at Empty Tables
I had the same thought!
Woah there sir, I don't think I can cry hard enough to make it through that
Ong I cant handle crying that hard but still want it lol
OML HE WOULD
Oh my god, he has to do it now!!!!
honestly the 8 people who have disliked this probably just hate themselves because they're not jeremy jordan.
Tyler Conroy No. because he’s not Ben S. Platt.🙌🏽
It's probably Jonathan Groff xD
literally
ooft me but I still liked
k a m r y n oof😂😂
Not even kidding when I say I watch this literally every day.
Ditto, still going strong. It's more of a necessity than desire at this point.
@@Sophia-cd2ci I hate to admit that I'm watching every day too hahaha absolute fire
Executive Thrillseeker haha yeah same
About half way through it, I realized he got me, about two thirds through I was starting to cry… by the end I was a mess, one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard. seriously, wow…this man can sing bravo
I saw a post somewhere that said “if you remove a straight white man’s pockets, will they still be able to act?” and all I can think of is this
Omg I’ve been cackling over this comment for like 20 minutes
Cornflower20 😂 it’s the whole of the first MINUTE of this performance I stg
Wat
@@pandapie9012 when straight men act, they tend to put their hands in their pockets a lot
@@ImNotOdd Is...is that really a "straight men" thing?
The home quarantine made me discover him. Who's with me? He's just amazing.
Allow me to introduce you to the Wonderful World that is Jeremy Jordan.
He's a Broadway singer and plays a few roles on TV shows
Literally look him up and binge-watch every single video there is.
(I'd recommend "Run Away With Me", "At Last", "I've told You Now", "The Next Ten Minutes Ago" and many more!)
Amazing..... beautiful voice control n gives u goosebumps.. in a sad n deep way ...
Same
@@morgannotlefay been in the wonderful world for just over a week now. Watched A LOT of UA-cam and Newsies on Disney+... Canny get enough. What's amazing me (besides, well, him) is how he acts all the songs. Never feels like I'm _just_ watching Jeremy Jordan - I get a different vibe from every performance. Loving him!
@@MFJones452 He also plays the character "Varian" in "Tangled The Series" on Disney+. He gets a few songs there, too.
Glad to have you in the wonderful world!! XD
Can we just acknowledge the half step that he does at 3:00
It makes me happy
200th like
One of the most powerful, emotional chord progessions in music and he nails it.....
Love it!
his voice is so resonant wtf
Wow, that was so amazing, that he combined acting, storytelling, dancing, and singing at the same time, that was like a film in less than 4 minutes. This guy deserves an oscar
I stan pregnant Jeremy Jordan.
Emily Le I was brushing my teeth when I read this and almost choked 😂😂👏🏻
Bahahahahahaha!
iM- HAHAHAHA
that’s why he plays Lucifer Morningstar so well
WJAT AHAHAHAHAGAGAAGAHGAA
I don’t understand how one person can have so many emotions on one song? In the immortal words of Salt and Peppa. What a man what a man what a mighty mighty good man.
EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO CRY IN THE CORNER JEREMY IS AMAZING FOREVER BYE
1 million of these views are me when i fell asleep with this on loop, doing the dishes, doing homework, basically any free time i have i’m watching this
75 dislikes? How many accounts does Jonathan Groff have?
Lmfao
Yousuf Shahzad Wait. Jonathan doesn’t like Jeremy?!
WELCOME TO HELL ! it’s like a rivalry cuz they always try out for the same parts and stuff
Lilly Mackenzie But it’s not like they hate each other right?
Oh no! It's all fun and jokes.
It's a beautiful song and I love Sara's and Jessie's versions, but damn! He poured everything into it and let's face it Jeremy Jordan's everything is an overwhelming excess of talent. Why in god's name is he trapped in that trainwreck, Supergirl.
money. he is making a lot of money.
THIS IS INSANE! INSANE! THIS PERFORMANCE ALONE DESERVES A TONY. WOW.
This video is very addictive, I come back here every day lol
