LAKE DISTRICT - ESCAPE the FLOODS

- In this weeks video Sue only just manages to find a train back after a weekend with family and we are reunited in the Lake District where we make our way to Ambleside. Continuous rain cuts our stay short as rivers burst their banks and waters rise. We decided to leave.
After unsuccessfully finding a park up we eventually found a site for the night which although officially closed welcomed us. This was Crossfell Campsite in Ousby, just a short drive from Penrith and opposite the New Fox Inn.
We then headed off to a campsite at Patterdale Hall next to Ullswater where walking was challenging but the views, when it wasn't raining, were spectacular.
This is episode 110 in a series of videos cataloguing our post retirement adventures. We are Kath and Sue and we are travelling the UK with our two dogs Archie and Fudge and living full time in our Burstner Elegance Motorhome. We have given up conventional living for a new van-life, enjoying the freedom of the road and plenty of time outdoors taking in the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer.

Such glorious scenery and special tribute too. So glad Sue made it home back to you. Tricky filming conditions with all that wind…..I think Fudge wanted you to put the camera away so she could snuggle up with mum out of the gales! Lovely to see Archie having special playtime with Sue…. We lose a finger or three with Sasha too trying to extricate a favourite stick! Stay safe! 🐶🐶🤞🤞xx

Wow that flood was bad, we been lucky being in Wales hardly any flooding, great idea to raise money for a good cause, lovely tribute to your friend..🥰👍👊🏴🚌
It was a bit touch and go at one point but we did the right thing to leave when we did. Thank you re the tribute, there is a whole bunch of us doing it and keeping each other going. 🤣 You have definitely been more successful in Wales than we have been. You found some lovely places. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
