Surviving STORM KATHLEEN on LAKELAND fells

- This week we return to an old favourite, Millers Field, Ambleside taking the opportunity to do some much needed retail therapy and a couple of sole healing fell walks.
This is episode 119 in a series of videos cataloguing our post retirement adventures. We are Kath and Sue and we are travelling the UK with our two dogs Archie and Fudge and living full time in our Burstner Elegance Motorhome. We have given up conventional living for a new van-life, enjoying the freedom of the road and plenty of time outdoors taking in the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer.

We really enjoyed the Ambleside parkup, although we had rubbish rainy weather ☔️
We’ll go back at some point, so now have a couple of walk/hike ideas.

Lovely video of great scenery again. Thank you so much. We are still ‘confined to barracks’. Poor Sasha thinks her mums have either become really lazy or that they’ve completely lost the plot especially as the medication is relieving her pain. I’m hoping and praying that a physio session and a visit to the vets this coming week brings about the ok to do some small walks again. Our poor girl is beside herself and wonderful as it is to see you enjoying your walks we can’t help but be just a little bit envious😮!! I’m looking forward to trying the Ambleside Aire too! Hope your parents are doing ok? Big changes for them but I’m sure you and Sue are a great help and support. Hope it was the breather you needed (no swimming though?!….) Thanks Anna. You thoughts and comments are much appreciated. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a good outcome at the vets so Sasha get going again. My parents are doing ok. We have just finished moving them in so we are all exhausted, but it’s been worthwhile as they have a lovely new home which is much more manageable for them. Take care. 🤗🙏🚌❤️
Fairfield horseshoe, yes a lovely part of my walking the fells. The Lake District has to be one of the best places and stats show that only 1% of people visiting the Lakes actually walk the fells so you are very unlucky to pass any people. Thank you for the memory ❤❤❤

Fantastic, Ambleside and Chilli , what a nice combination ☺. When you are up here, there is some nice walking around Ballater and Braemar , including Loch Muick and Lochnagar, maybe even a wild swim

Oh really. I’ll have to let Sue know. She did come up with another concoction using black beans so they didn’t go to waste. 🤣 xx

I think black beans would have been fine. I sat out Kathleen in Terryglass County Tipperary. Moved off the west coast inland for obvious reasons. Smashing vlog again.

We fancy a van excursion there too especially since my mum had a holiday there a few years back now…. Pre dementia days bless her. She had a wonderful time so it’s definitely on our list too! (The list gets longer as we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful country aren’t we?) x
