I know this Channel is focused on skin care - but there are other really great benefits with LED therapy. I have arthritis in my hip and had a lot of pain. Thanks a lot! Came in very handy that the 30% code is valid until the 14th of December! I've just ordered the Pulse40 LED Light Therapy Panel and 2x ABP11+ Green Rooibos Gentle Resurfacing Toner which I intend to use with the panel. Although the Maysama serum is recommended it wouldn't pair well with the rest of my skincare routine. The toner pairs better and it still has 1% Aspalathus Linearis (Green Rooibos) Leaf Extract. The serum has just slightly more, 1.3% Aspalathus Linearis (Green Rooibos) Leaf Extract.

I bought Bevs Maysama pulsed light panel. I love it … granted the first time I used it. I was a little freaked out with that pulsing but I’m fine I don’t even use the goggles anymore with the pulse 10 minutes It’s no big deal and I think it’s a great product.
Another added benefit is red light therapy often helps improve dry eyes. Again, do your own research. For me, I went from waking up with my eyes feeling like I had sand in them, to no dryness what so ever. Quite remarkable.
Low power red light (8 mW/cm2 ) of 670 nm slows the ageing of eyes for those 40 and over (and in my case has improved my colour and night vision) used in the morning a minimum of once a week - you can keep your eyes open or closed, makes very little difference
Great program and topic. Slightly difficult to understand the guest and terms used. Maybe have a visual to explain since it was a bit difficult to understand the guest.
Does the red light panel have to be a certain distance from skin or can it be touching the skiin? I have scar on different parts of my body and I'm wondering how to position the panel. Also will you please list again the topicals that will help with the healing of scars? Thank you Penn
HI Penn, thank you for this interview - so very informative particularly with regards to hyperpigmentation! I have melasma which can flare up with sun and heat exposure. When I use my Omnilux, there are several places that get quite noticeably darker, even if I limit the time to under 5 min. Very frustrating! Is there anything you or your guest would suggest to help? I've tried sunscreen with limited success. Thx!!
@margaritamartinezmagro2432 Hi there! I don't know if this is true but I recently heard that if u use only red light and not near infrared it won't cause the flare up. I think there are a couple of devices that allow u to select only red light. You may want to look into that. Good luck! 😊
Thank you for this comment. I have melasma as well and have really been wanting an led mask but I have been scared it might worsen my melasma. There doesn't seem to be very much reliable information on this topic unfortunately.
It’s true, the info on red light and melasma IS all over the place. I personally have dealt with melasma in the past (around and after my pregnancies) but neither red nor NIR flares it for me. That said, I have heard too many times that NIR flares someone’s melasma that I try to mention that when people ask. Red light alone doesn’t seem to be as problematic but because melasma is so incredibly finicky anything is possible. I wish it was more clear 🫤

So bare skin has always been the standard recommendation (from me as well) but recently I’ve been testing water based serums before LED and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. I love that my skin is hydrated after and I just feel better. That said, bare skin is 100% great. As for what’s good before- the main thing is avoid oil based products and anything opaque (so no creams). Think watery serums. I like antioxidant type serums so I’ll choose copper peptides (I like NIOD), or multi ingredient serums like Drmtlgy needle-less serum (my fave) and then of course Maysama is great because it’s a super antioxidant serum. With Maysama I definitely put it on and wait a little while before doing LED to make sure it’s “soaked in”. But you can use any water based serum you like! @@user-ub2md5lo3u I'm fairly certain I have heard Penny say in other videos that she uses, or has used, copper peptide serums (like Niod or Drmtlgy Needless Serum) before red light. Never used the Needless Serum but do use Niod: it's a very watery serum. Believe also heard Bev mention using water based serums during this interview (so very water like texture serums as opposed to serums that are thicker in consistency ?).
DO not order the HigherDose LED mask. It worked for me a total of one time. So I purchased the 75 dollar cleaner and it arrived broken. Customer service is not helping me to send this back. very dissapointed in the company.
They guarantee the mask- if it only worked one time you should be able to return it. Would you like my help? I’m happy to help try and get you either a refund or exchange.
To be honest Penny the only thing I don't understand is why you do not have several million followers by now because your channel is by far the best most informative and downright bloody brilliant skincare channel on UA-cam! Oh and excellent video- wow that panel is pretty! ❤ 😊 ❤
I bought a Joove panel i can stand or sit in front of. I'm recommended to sit for 10 minutes on each side. I felt not much was said about the larger panels and wonder of this is helpful. I use it for both anti aging and healing.
@user-qg9bu8my9f absolutely you can sit in front of a panel! For skin it’s usually 12-18 inches away for 10 min or less. Joove should give you specifics but that’s about what I do with my panel. 🩷 Panels are amazing for both skincare and pain management. I just my sister a panel to help with her hip pain. I love my panel for my skin (it’s so efficient to sit in front and treat a large area). 😊
Hello and thank you! I’m on my second bottle of Maysama serum I have been applying the serum and waiting 20-30 minutes before I use my Mito red light I just want to make sure that is the protocol. I also would like some guidance on if I need to add any other serums along with Maysama. Would love some suggestions on what to apply after my red light session. Thank you in advance for your help.
Thank you Bev and Penn: excellent informative interview. 2 wonderful ladies moving the science of skin care forward and love that you keep us all informed.
Wonderful information, thank you having Bev on your UA-cam. I am considering getting your recommended Revivserum with growth hormone. Is it water based and is it advisable to use it just prior to the pulsing red light Maysama panel? Are there any serums that the revivserum should not be used with….ie. vit c, niacidamide, tretinoin? Thank you Penn
I'm so excited - I just bought the device along with three bottles of the serum and I can't wait for it to get here! Thank you so much Penny for having her on and for negotiating the discount.
Yes! I have thr Maysama panel and use the rooibos serum from Bev as well. What I love is exactly what she said, they started with science and built the product vs building first and then marketing!
That was wonderful! The discussion about glycolysis and rooibos was very interesting and useful. Thank you Bev and Penn for sharing all of this with us.
Hi Penny. Have you did any research on the Artemis red light therapy mask? I know it is very costly but I did order it on the premise of investing in myself. Also I did order the maysama serum. I used it with a red light panel that I purchased. It’s only been about a month, so no results yet, but I will keep at. Thanks
I have the mito but learned so much! Thank you! Silly question, love your orange sweater from beginning of video. Can you tell me where it’s from? I love all the colors you wear and LOVE your channel!
I loved this video! Thank you Penn. I have been using red light for three years now, with pulse. It has made such a big difference to my skin and I constantly get compliments from friends and strangers as well. People ask me what I use. I always lead with red light therapy and then tell them to follow you for skin care tips! ❤❤❤
I LOVE Bev, unfortunately, I couldnt use the Mysama serum. It really made my skin unhappy - I must be allergic to it. Now Im thinking it's the niacinamide. I just can't tolerate it very well.
Oh no, I just purchased the light panel along with three bottles of the serum and I will be really really upset if the serum doesn't agree with my skin 😨
Thank you so much for a very informative and interesting video! I only invested in my panel last year but wish I had held our for the Mayasama one. I love the Mayasama serum. I am just wondering if we are any closer to understand whether NIR and blue light are safer for darker skin tones? I have hyperpigmentation from previous acne scars, combination/ oily skin. Considering the Mayasama Gua Sha tool bit not sure whether op for rhe devices with NIR or blue light?
Hi, I can't get maysama delivered to my country, is there any other options to use with my LED? Current Body has a "Green tea and vitamin C serum to enhance LED mask benefits". Would that be good to use? I was also still unsure how long to sit in front of my LED for?
This was so informative! Thank you for having her explain the difference in pulsing red light versus the regular red light. I do have her green tea formula and her small red light . Thanks again for this very informative discussion!
Love this interview...and all your interviews with experts! Thanks for all you do. Love your channel and so glad I found you❤ Many blessings to you in the holiday season!
I look for the paper• I read it a LONG time ago (I should have copied where I saw it, but of course I didn’t) and it just stuck with me. I’ll try and find it!
Absolutely a great and informative video. I love my highdose mask. I’d love to get the neck and dec one but for now I put face mask on my neck area after my face. After watching this video I decided to try the serum. I plan to do in the morning. Rinse face with water, when I get the serum apply it and then 10 minutes with mask. Sometimes I’ll use my ZIIP after, wash the gel off and then do my skincare routine. I don’t always have time for that second part but seems to work best. I’d love to know your thoughts if seems right order.
May I ask, what's the hogher dose mask? Is it an Led/IR mask? Plus, Anything I've ever read/watched about using a Maysama (tonic) to enhance LED benefits was this: clean face of any topicals, apply Maysama - let it sit for a time (10 mins., IIRC) and THEN use the led mask/panel. Maybe the serum is a different case? No need to let it sit on the skin b/4 proceeding with LED treatment?
Thank you both. I've listened to Bev before on other channels. My question is this: I'm a regular user of a Mito 300 pro Red Light Panel and I'm a subscriber to the Maysama serum and I use that with every session. What is the difference between doing the serum with the regular panel and having a pulse panel ? Do you get the benefits against the antioxidants well enough that you don't need the pulse light? I can't afford to purchase another Light Panel and I'm trying to figure out where I stand across the Spectrum. Regular panel and serum. Pulse with and without serum. Thank you.
Hi Penny, this week I ordered an Omnilux mask and Maysama serum. Now I'm kind upset with myself that I didn't wait until Friday, with your Maysama code I would have saved even more. But what I actually wanted to ask is - how do I integrate Omnilux and Maysama into my skincare routine? Normally, in the morning I use SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum, Depology Matrixyl 3000 Serum and Medik8 Daily Radiance Vitamin C (it has SPF in it, so it's also my sunscreen). In the evening, I use Medik8 Crystal Retinal 10, twice a week preceded with Medik8 Sleep Glycolic Serum, and always followed by Medik8 Advanced Night Restore. Now I ordered Omnilux and Maysama, and would like to order also ZIIP halo in the future. My question is - can I first do LED + Maysama, and then follow it by CE Ferulic and Matrixyl 3000? Does it make any sense? Or should I first wash Maysama off before I apply CE Ferulic and Matrixyl 3000? But then, wouldn't it be a waste? And if I get ZIIP, does it even make sense to use it with Golden Gel? I would like to, because I like the idea of adding growth factors to my routine, and I thought I would use it in the evening, when watching Netflix or UA-cam, but does it make any sense if I follow it by Medik8 Crystal Retinal 10 or Sleep Glycolic Serum? Sorry for the lengthy comment, but I hope you can give me some advice. Thank you!
Hi there. Ok first don’t be upset- you are going to LOVE your omnilux mask! Seriously, I love having a mask and you will too. You can definitely do your ziip at night (if you decide to go that route) and gently remove the gel (I do this so that there’s a little left on my skin, just a very little) and what’s left is wonderful before any retinoid in my opinion. You may want to thoroughly remove it before your glycolic (this will just depend, you may not want a buffer before glycolic OR you might find you love it). As for Maysama and red light- I often will rinse my face but not wash when I use Maysama and red light then go on with skincare. This will really depend on you though- you may be fine with it. After 20+ minutes of red light the Maysama is really soaked in (for lack of a better term) so your CE F should be fine. I would use the Maysama sparingly so that you don’t feel it on the skin. Just know that if you decide to rinse and go on with your skincare you got a great treatment from it with your LED mask so I wouldn’t call it a waste either! Think of it like a mask that you use with your led mask and then you might not think of it as a waste. I really hope this helps. You have a GREAT skincare routine going! I’m so excited that you’re adding red light!
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE, thank you Penn, I really appreciate you took time to answer. (Not so obviuos, only few UA-cam influencers do.) I just watched your video in ZIIP and now I want it even more, bit it will need to wait a bit, I spent too much $$ on this year's Black Friday (I ordered also Orallift, a year's supply of Depology Matrixyl and 1/4 year's supply Medik8 Retinal). One more question, what can I do to join your FB group?
Love your guest, LOVE HER BACK ROUND!!🎉 I CAN'T WAIT to hear her hypothesis!😮 I've had a dome unit (lie down beneath) for ten years & absolutely love it BUT, as you said.. out of sight out of mind + its a bit cumbersome. It isnt a pulse light but let me tell you, its INCREDIBLE! 1/2 Hr. Sessions, egggh, but the results are nothing short of incredible. A very good friend of mine is a retired rocket scientist from N.A.S.A. So i do have some privileged information concerning this. The NM MUST BE BALANCED CORRECTLY for optional results. I've found higher & lower balance of N.M. differential but no one has it on target .. that I've found yet. OMG, AM I LOVING YOU & YOUR CHANNEL!!! SOSOOOO glad you popped up! ❤🎉 A P.S.!.. I can't wait to see your little girl's face!!! 🐩 ❤!
Thank you for a great video Penny! I have an Omni luxe mask, and I just ordered the serum! Maybe sometime down the road if I need any other device, I will be ordering the pulse panel….. another question…. Are there any other types of Serums that can also be used during the LED mask?? I’ve always put it on a clean dry face as I didn’t know what may occur with a serum…….(* I’ve done with apply any of my serums after my treatment.)…..(* ADVICE on tools that will not affect any fat loss!!!?? Thank you in advance )
That was very interesting. Thank you to your guest! I also love red light and have learned so much. I might get her panel for travel. I have a larger panel for my body, the Omnilux mask and chest/neck unit, and the NuFace Trinity Plus red light attachment. I use them all, because they all have different wavelengths, light colors--and the NuFace also pulses (and has amber light)! I figure that they must all be hitting my cells slightly differently, because all the studies I have seen have slightly different wavelengths, and there seems to be some theorizing that the different wavelengths have slightly better effects depending on the results you want. I am not sure about that, but this seems to be the suggestion. So interesting about the impact of pulsing regarding absorption of skin care. This would suggest using skin care before the NuFace attachment could be beneficial. I will try it. Thank you for all this useful info!
Where did you get your orange sweater? It is such a pretty color. Also: Since I do not have a pulsed light option, should I just turn it off occasionally? In my head I am thinking I can turn off my LED source for 10 seconds after every minute or something. 🤷
Could you speak about melasma and if near inferred light can make it worse? I'm very interested in using red light for anti-aging, rosacea and melasma. Thank you! Many blessings💖💖💖
I purchased the NuDerma Clinical wand several months ago. Does the red light therapy work differently, or do these 2 products essentially accomplish the same thing?
This is so informative and exciting! I had to rewind to understand what Bev said about the pulsing I understood her to say it's not detrimental to the eyes but didn't quite catch what she said about the brain, I think she said distracting? And get acclimated to the pulsing
What did she mean by better absorption of skincare with her panel! Is a skin product put on for during the LED treatment. I’m not referring to her green rooibos serum. Very curious about this
Bev'a panel is my next self at home care treat, I decided! Yes it looks beautiful and such high quality technology, seems like a great value considering the devices that are out there!!

Is she saying Rooibos? My captions keep saying Roy boss.
Rooibos 🩷 yes
DO not order the HigherDose LED mask. It worked for me a total of one time. So I purchased the 75 dollar cleaner and it arrived broken. Customer service is not helping me to send this back. very dissapointed in the company.
They guarantee the mask- if it only worked one time you should be able to return it. Would you like my help? I’m happy to help try and get you either a refund or exchange.
they finally got back to me and they were amazing letting me send it and get a refund. @@PENNSMITHSKINCARE
thanks for offering to help though means a lot!
Oh yay!!!! Good 🥲
To be honest Penny the only thing I don't understand is why you do not have several million followers by now because your channel is by far the best most informative and downright bloody brilliant skincare channel on UA-cam! Oh and excellent video- wow that panel is pretty! ❤ 😊 ❤
Wow, thank you so much! This comment just made my day 🥰
I bought a Joove panel i can stand or sit in front of.
Panels are amazing for both skincare and pain management.
I have the same questions!

Thank you Bev and Penn: excellent informative interview. 2 wonderful ladies moving the science of skin care forward and love that you keep us all informed.
Grateful for all the experts that you take the time to feature here so we can be better educated about where we are spending our money and why!!!!!!❤
Thank you both… I am going to use both red light and Infrared together..
Enjoy your journey in life and keep spreading your sunshine.
Really interesting! I learned a lot. I use my red light panel daily on my face and other parts of my body. I love it. Thank you for this video!
I love it too. Today when I was sitting doing red light I actually thought about how nice 10 minutes of calm is…..I’ll take it 💙
Yes! I have thr Maysama panel and use the rooibos serum from Bev as well. What I love is exactly what she said, they started with science and built the product vs building first and then marketing!
The best interview I've seen with Bev. Thanks!
That was wonderful! The discussion about glycolysis and rooibos was very interesting and useful. Thank you Bev and Penn for sharing all of this with us.
Thank you so much for interviewing Bev Sanderson. This was very informative, and I look forward to hearing what she has to say next year!
I bought her mask and serum. If you buy the mask you don't even notice the pulse light which I use. I use it everyday. Love it.
Hi Penny. Have you did any research on the Artemis red light therapy mask? I know it is very costly but I did order it on the premise of investing in myself. Also I did order the maysama serum. I used it with a red light panel that I purchased. It’s only been about a month, so no results yet, but I will keep at. Thanks
As always, very informative and inspiring. Thank you!!!
Thank you for bringing us this interview! I had my notepad out and took copious notes.
I have the mito but learned so much! Thank you! Silly question, love your orange sweater from beginning of video. Can you tell me where it’s from? I love all the colors you wear and LOVE your channel!
Does infra red light help.
Ahhhh I’m so sorry to hear that. I have a few products like that as well. I WANT to be able to love them but my skin says NOPE. 🫤
Oh no, I just purchased the light panel along with three bottles of the serum and I will be really really upset if the serum doesn't agree with my skin 😨
My skin got red and felt hot with her serum too.
I have mito full panel for over a year - I was so excited! Hasn’t done shit
You could try using Isntree Green Tea Toner before your LED treatment. Hope that helps!
@@crissyanderson6495 thank you, I can get that here and it's super affordable too :)
@@Kiwichick138oh that’s awesome! I love it and yes of course it’s affordable! 🥰
This was so informative! Thank you for having her explain the difference in pulsing red light versus the regular red light. I do have her green tea formula and her small red light . Thanks again for this very informative discussion!
Awesome video! Great information. Please do have Bev Sanderson on again. Learned a lot about about LED and pulse LED!
is she saying it could make melasma worse?
Yes, NIR can make melasma worse. It can also make it better. Unfortunately it’s very individual.
Question- and maybe my brain was tired and I missed it. So was she saying to use the serum during the red light therapy?
Learned so much information! Loved the whole educational approach!!!
I appreciate this informative video. Thank you ✨️
Very informative! Thank you for continuing to try to improve our skin care journey !
I LOVE my red light. Needed this vid. Thanks. ❤
Penny, your videos are always, always educating! Thank you very much. I now watched your dr pen videos multiple times, bought my own. Love it.
Thank you! 💙💙
I just bought it too, and I'm so excited!
@@sballantine8127 yay! I can’t wait to do it again. I was nervous the first time. I’d love to hear how your first time goes.😀
Absolutely FANTASTIC video with two of my favorite ladies! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!!
Love this interview...and all your interviews with experts! Thanks for all you do. Love your channel and so glad I found you❤ Many blessings to you in the holiday season!
Thank you so much 🥰
I’m confused about Red light plus NIR. Is this the same as LED?
LED just stands for light emitting diode. Red and NIR are just wavelengths of LED
So yes, to answer your question it’s the same as LED
I was wondering what the effect led is on macular? I use a panel for skincare and love it
I look for the paper• I read it a LONG time ago (I should have copied where I saw it, but of course I didn’t) and it just stuck with me. I’ll try and find it!
Both of you women have beautiful skin.
Thank you 🥰
Absolutely a great and informative video.
I love that higherdose mask, it’s my favorite mask!
Such a great, info-packed video! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thank you.
Honestly I use a panel and also a mask all the time. I think Bev would agree that you are GOOD. You do not need another LED to get great results. 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thank you
Hi Penny, this week I ordered an Omnilux mask and Maysama serum. Now I'm kind upset with myself that I didn't wait until Friday, with your Maysama code I would have saved even more.
But what I actually wanted to ask is - how do I integrate Omnilux and Maysama into my skincare routine?
Normally, in the morning I use SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum, Depology Matrixyl 3000 Serum and Medik8
Daily Radiance Vitamin C (it has SPF in it, so it's also my sunscreen). In the evening, I use Medik8
Crystal Retinal 10, twice a week preceded with Medik8 Sleep Glycolic Serum, and always followed by Medik8 Advanced Night Restore.
@@PENNSMITHSKINCAREthx for answering her question, because I have pretty much the same!
I’ve been using Celluma because of the pulsing feature. It’s nice to know that there really is good data supporting the pulsing.
Yes! I have the Celluma Pro- it was my first big purchase for my treatment room and I chose it because it pulses. I need to get it out 😁
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I'll have to do some comparison of the specs for each.
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I also have a celluma pro but just started to use tretinoin so quit using it. Can I use them both?
Very curious about this
Thank you for this! I’m just super confused as to whether or not this is beneficial for hyperpigmentation?
I would like to know the lifespan of light therapy bulbs and if the strength of the wavelength diminishes as they age or with continued use.
Bev'a panel is my next self at home care treat, I decided! Yes it looks beautiful and such high quality technology, seems like a great value considering the devices that are out there!!
very informative, would love more videos on led lights from a treatment stand point when doing facials
What a fabulous video! I’ve learned so much that I didn’t know before about pulsed light.
Question about secret key, does it have growth factors in it. I’ve had skin cancer can I use it?
Thanks so much for this informative interview. How long is your 30% discount code good for?
What would you recommend for low back pain /treatment ? A pad or a panel ? And from who ?
So is her panel better than the omnilux mask? Because now I think I need this instead of my mask.
El codigo de descuento de maysana es solo para black friday o luego tambien?
Hello can you tell me if red light has heat and would cause fat loss
It doesn’t. Dr. Dray addressed this in one of her videos. She is a board certified dermatologist.
@@ljacobs5478 thank you for that info
