Big Boy | Arriving Into California

Here's a nice recap of day 1 of Kendall's week long Big Boy adventure. The first day starts with when the locomotive arrived into California from Nevada on the former Western Pacific line. Along the way, we'll see the activity including people getting ready to see the train as well as the mighty Big Boy passing through the small town of Beckwourth into Portola for the night. It's an exciting show to see Union Pacific No. 4014 in action.

Great video. We visited it in Roseville and then followed it up to Reno, but I wish we’d also gone up to Portola to see it at the museum there and followed it going through the Feather River Canyon and down the valley near Marysville.
