As the flagship in the #F150 lineup, the #FordRaptor is not a truck you need, but something that you yearn for. The first generation #Raptor had all the necessary trimmings for a factory tuned off-road truck and while it was mostly an experiment for #Ford, it became a huge success which is why a new version was introduced last year. The overall look is even more imposing but the biggest change was under the hood where the previous 6.2L V8 is replaced with a high-output twin-turbo 3.5L V6. @@GabeBoy96 Stockholm, Sweden and it's suburbs share the same, potholes experience. Even if they are patched or not you still feel a lot of vibration inside the cabin. Therefore the Raptor arrives handy.

Those shoes are everything Soyfan! They suit the Raptor nicely (; I absolutely love that blue interior, by far the best truck in my opinion.
Another great review Sofyan and I test drove this truck recently and I have to say I love the feeling you get behide the wheel you feel so safe you feel like you could go though anything. I used to own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and currently own a 2006 Lincoln Navigator Ultimate and they both feel great in there own way driving them. But nothing compared to this Raptor you feel like the king of the road like you said and that ecoboost V6 actually doesn't sound too bad and your right it is a very fast truck lol.

2700 miles on it, not new. Someone pulled that piece of trim up - the connection for the auto/start is located directly beneath that trim piece.
So many are complaining about this truck being a V6. Is 450 HP and 510 Ft lbs of torque really not enough? Last time I checked, these are not common numbers off an assembly line…this straight out of the factory engine is FASTER than many of the V-8s on the road. Then you have the “exhaust complainers”…who are too adamant about having loud/deep exhaust noise coming out of their rear…I suspect they have other insecurities and need a loud exhaust to make up for their lack of testosterone. Many can copy, but can’t match the frame structure, off-road options and durability of the Raptor. Hands down, best truck on the planet.
Getting those kind of numbers out of a V6 means reliability is much worse than an oldschool naturally aspirated V8 cause they need to stick all kinds of tech like turbos in there that has a chance to fail on you.
@@Jaml321 the turbos on the f250 seem like they last a while. Just keeping up maintenance maybe get a turbo timer or sit in the car after your trip to let turbo cool down it should last a while.

Everything about the 2017 Ford Raptor exterior reminds me of "The Rock, Arnold from Terminator 2, with a hint of Bruce Lee, as far as speed".
By far in my opinion the Raptor is the Most Masculine looking Truck out there straight from the factory. Unfortunately most of Fords interior across the board excluding the "Navigator" has a office feel a more conservative look. I can live with that though, price tag steep but in my opinion well worth it. If I could afford one I would have one.

I had a 2015 Raptor with a stage 2 Roush conversion. 560 hp that you couldn't put down because the damned traction control cut power NON STOP. Now I have a 2019 and even at 450 hp stock it's far superior to the first gen. I totally recommend a second gen Raptor

Even for a non truck guy like me. I still find it bad ass. Ford just need to make the interior a little bit more luxurious while keeping it rugged. Make the infotainment screen 12 inch. I would love to see red leather seat too.

Please do not pay over MSRP for these trucks! I’m in Cali and I custom ordered mine at MSRP. It’s not easy to do in Cali but it’s possible. If you are in other states, you can get these lower than MSRP.
I highly recommend this truck. My wife loves it as her daily.
Cons:
-parking can be can issue because of how wide it is
-interior is not as nice as you would expect on a high end truck but it’s a Ford so I am not surprised
-mpg is pretty bad
Pros-
-people commend you everywhere you go. People stop and compliment you and check the truck out. People just fuckin love it.
-it’s fast. I just beat a Honda Civic si.
- suspension is amazing. I basically floor it on dips that I would normally have to go very slow on my evo x gsr

I’m a chevy guy and I don’t think any other truck on the market looks or performs better than this.
These are as common as dirt in the Southwest US. All of them doing nothing but mall crawling and hauling air. Interior panel gaps at no extra charge, too.
With everyone doing off road trucks a new lightning would be great.
No other vehicle gets people out of the left lane better then the Raptor (especially at night). That is a priceless advantage that is not talked about much.

All spent on the suspension and body work. That attracts more buyers than quality materials it seems.
In this case, it's outside that what counts. I still would've preferred one with a (Coyote) V8......not a big fan of the EcoBoost V6, especially if you're actually gonna pull a trailer with it.

I just bought a brand new 2019 super cab base 800a for $50,795. Sure it doesn't have leather or any of the fancy electronics like this truck does, it is however still a raptor and I still get the HO ecoboost and all the drive modes as well as the LiveActive Fox shocks. I think the truck comes fairly well equipped for a "base" truck. Oh and I still get the sync 3 radio. I just think spending $75k on a truck is ridiculous.
i also love open roofs, nothing like a Miata, ive had one for over 15 yrs, thats why i believe the Gladiator will be a huge seller

I have a 2018 Raptor. This was a good and fair review. I tend to agree on the 10 Speed Transmission. I am curious what the new RAM TRX will be like. Hellcat Super Charged V8.... Will the Quality be there from RAM. They aren't known for the best quality but hopefully that is changing. I also wonder what Ford will do in the future now that they have a huge investment in Rivian. An all electric high output 4 motors at the wheels truck would be very interesting to me. Just think of the off road capability of that.

What I don't recall the reviewer mentioning is the Raptor depreciates very little. It's hard to find a used Raptor that's 2-3 years old below $50,000 USD.
That's why I own a 2017 Chevy z71 Instead of a 2014 Raptor the value of a used Raptor is amazing. Just goes to show how sought after they are. On top of that there's not that many used ones too chose from. Ford producing limited amounts or owners love them too much to let go.

I just purchased a 2016 ram rebel which is suppose to compete with the raptor. I love my ram but the raptor is in a league of its own! Great review as always!

It would be cool if Ford added a hydraulic lift on the bed. So if you loaded rocks, mulch, etc. it’ll be easier to dump at a work site or home project.

What grade gas is recommended for the Raptors and or 3.5L Eco boost engine? I've got different responses and some say Regular works just fine, others say Premium. Which one is correct and where can I find the answer? A couple of people I know say the owners manual is kind of ambiguous and not spelled out as to what grade you should use. Nice video and thanks.

Cool factor is a 12 on a 1-10 scale, and the same goes for its off-road capabilities. BUT it’s a huge step down in towing/hauling, on-road etc. but that’s just the nature of the beast with off-road specific vehicles. I literally just priced one these last week and found it was waaayyyy to expensive for a vehicle that I’m going to off-road, that truck makes a fully optioned crew cab Lariat 150 look like bargain basement pricing lol and just shy of a loaded King Ranch.
Get a used Honda sxs, upgrade, invest remaining $50k
I am a die hard GM person but always loved how the Raptor looks but they lost my interest when they went V6
I heard one on the road before knowing they are V6 and was like what the heck happened. Looks are 100% solid on outside, inside is cheap (quality issue? on at least this model reviewed) and engine is definitely the killer where it all goes downhill.
have you driven one? It's insane how fast the boost comes on, I felt the same way but there really is a replacement for displacement and it's called BOOST.

People talk crap and don’t do any research. That truck will run to 250 k no promblem. Just traded a 2015 sho in with same basic motor with 150 k and it was still like new. And we are not alone mouth man.

I’m wondering what you think it should cost? 30 k maybe like an accord. Any nice truck is knocking on 50 k now. The truck does not share many parts on the body with a reg F-150. The base raptor is in the 50 k range. Go drive a new Toyota truck that is 50 k and you will see how far these American trucks have come.
Yeah but you can’t compare a prize of a car to a truck. A good trucks starts around 40-50k base. That’s a luxury level already on a car or suv.
In really life trucks are more useful and more safe when it comes to collisions.

If I paid that much for a truck and the first thing that I saw when I got in it was gaps in the fitmemt of the dash pieces. I'd hand the keys right back to them and tell them that they can keep it.

Excellent review like always. I'm planning on trading in my 2017 Toyota Rav4 Limited Hybrid cause I just can't stand it anymore the only positive thing is the gas mileage. So I was wondering how it would be having a Raptor if I live in NYC specifically in the Bronx. I really like this truck and I went to a Dealership so they're waiting on me until I can make up my mind and decide whether or not make such a DRASTIC vehicle change. My concerns are the size of the Raptor how difficult it would be for me to park in the streets of the Bronx or Manhattan and how much money I would be spending on gas and how often. From my job to my house it's like 9 miles round trip 5 times a week. I don't really go out much so basically I'll be using the Raptor to go to work and do some errands every now and then. What you guys think? I really need some help, helping me decide if it would be a good idea buying it.

J Barnes yeah, but most will buy it and eventually sell it. Putting a aftermarket exhaust in it will compromise resale value with the dealer. Most don’t do anything to it, just like most will buy a G-wagen and do nothing to it.
