I sold my 2011 Raptor with 209k miles for $24k about a year ago. The run forever, hold up very well and will take beating and you still get a crazy return when you go to sell it!
Tony Rigsby I've heard highway miles are basically like being idle, because the engine doesnt rev that much. The only thing it really wears down is the tires and suspension components.
@@Tony-ml5bs if the engine is poorly designed you can get some resonation issues which increase wear a lot. Though, good engines don't have that at highway revs.
I bought a 2014 Raptor fully loaded on 9.5.2019. I was in the market for a truck and so glad I went with the 6.2 raptor! 45,000 miles for just as much cash... LOVE IT! Great job with your videos btw. Keep it up
You messed up on the fender flairs, Doug - it's not the tire width that necessitated them, it's the wider control arms. While the frame is pretty much unchanged from the standard F150(IIRC, I believe it was made of thicker steel; the 2nd generation Raptor has its own bespoke frame), the upper & lower control arms were lengthened to make longer wheel travel possible while keeping CV joint(axle shaft) angles reasonable. A pretty noteworthy change over the standard F150.
Yeah, I bought my 2011 SVT Raptor for $52, 000. I looked on line a couple of years later and the average price for that truck used was more than I paid new.
I would argue your styling, fun, and cool scores. Its an absolute blast off road, and has far more "character" then the new ones. The grill and "hips" on the truck tell you this one is special. The redesigned grill opening made It far too easy to mistake a new one for a regular F150. I never get out of a gas station without someone asking about mine.
Luv my 13 terrain Raptor (desert storm color) loaded super-crew with 20" Nittos and leveling kit and 8" Sync Gen3 Android auto/carplay upgrade!! Get 14 mpg summer highway but my wife's 14 black Raptor loaded supercrew with stock tires but with retrax hardtop bedcover and Borla exhaust and cold air intake gets a legit 16.5 mpg highway. Not that that is a reason...or not...to by a Raptor.... No problems with either one except mine had intermittent battery drain due to bad park detect switch at shifter that I replaced. Fantastic vehicles!
after owning a 2014 Raptor with the 6.2 I can tell you this...any value you think is in the “Raptor” name goes out the window in fuel economy. This truck has some of the worst fuel economy in existence. I went with a new lariat 3.5 eco, it’s much faster then the Raptor, and the fuel economy is a massive improvement.
I had a landcruiser 5.7 V8 2012 with 250,000 km mileage. I bought it on 31jan 2012 for 139,000 QAR. And I sold it this month in 2018 for only 115,000 QR. Don't forget landcruiser which run almost forever
that weird window line is to keep the windows smaller to keep you in the truck in the event of a roll over. but i would block the mirror hence the dip. the whole cabin is designed this way and the steering wheel hugs your legs for the same reason - to keep you from being ejected. keeping the body line flow with the box was an after thought,

Correction what this video shows is that if you bought the raptor when it first came out you got lucky- The depreciation percentage on this vehicle is not guranteed- right now it’s trending so it’s good for now. And so buying this used for 45 g is actually the worst idea you would ever make. Nice truck though I like this truck. Still wouldn’t buy it unless I won the lottery
My only issue is this. A used one means this truck could have been driven to death and you are still paying out the ass for one since Doug even states it barely depreciates. Wouldn't it make more sense for a new one?

The Raptor is a terrible investment. No one should buy it. It's bad on gas. It has a v8. It takes jumps. No one wants that. Please don't buy Raptors. I'm definitely not saying this as a person that really wants a cheap used Ford Raptor
Lassi Kinnunen nah i think Doug is talking about buying it new and was using the old one as an example of how the value has held. Nah a used raptor is only a good buy relative to your needs (off-roading,sitting high). If you’re not off-roading and in the market for a used truck then DONT get the raptor because the value is high asf. Raptor is only a good investment new
So here's the thing about the 6.2L that people don't seem to understand. SVT ran this engine at redline for 36 hours straight without a single issue. Then used that same powerplant they tested in the Raptor R they placed 3rd in their class in the Baja 1000. The 6.2 is nearly bulletproof. It's a solid buy.
Why do you need a Ford transit for this. I think a Ford Expedition Raptor would do well. Think, the land cruiser sells well, the 4runner TRD sells well.
Bernardo Santos no it can’t, which is why ford gave the new raptor a different frame than the ordinary f150. Raptor owners were considering class action law suits for BENT FRAMES. What’s that saying about putting lipstick on a pig... still a pig at the end of the day.

Doug makes an excellent case for why you should NOT buy a used Raptor. If a vehicle has very little depreciation then that’s a vehicle you should buy new. I mean why pay only $11K less for a 5 year old vehicle with 70K miles? Buy it new and get a truck that doesn’t have somebody else’s French fries stuck between the seats. If it’s going to lose 2/3’s of its value in the first five years then that’s the vehicle you want to get used.

Damn these Doug comments always have me weak
😂😂
LOL!
Doug, the type of guy who when his kids say "I'm hungry," he replies "Hi hungry, I'm dad."
No. That's normal for dad's.
Curtis Larson : right? That’s the exact reason I splurged on a new one.
Case in point: Mercedes Benz
New Raptors cost like $70k-$80k now and only have V6s
His point is that you can buy one now and sell it in 2 years for the same price, but I get your point
That's what I was thinking. All of his points were actually reasons for the exact opposite argument.
That 6.2l V8 sounds so much better than the new EBv6

That's the main reason people buy the truck.

Does someone own a decent turbo Supra that this man can reveiw?
Prices are high enough. Please discourage people from posting about them 😂😂
[Content Deleted] I’ve been waiting on a MKIV turbo for ages. This man got his hands on the forbidden fruit that is the R34 but no one has a MKIV?
he prefers reviewing stock or nearly stock vehicles... it was pretty awesome he managed that with the R34, but a stock mkiv TT is fairly rare, especially for someone not interested in traveling to get to one.
Or he could review a man’s car instead of a little boy car
Instantly remember matt from demolition ranch when i see the raptor..
Doug, the type of guy to strip down to just his socks in the Raptor to get the full experience.

He does the same in the bed
That exhaust sound truly caught me off guard, even with the warning.
Sounds like a nasty queef fart combination
Hes like the guy eric from billy madison if he never had a movie career
It may be different irl, but it sounds horrible on video... like some random car in GTA V
This Raptor definitely an aftermarket exhaust setup. First generation Raptors came with a single exhaust outlet, this one is dual

I am going to ask Scotty Kilmer about this
what did he answer?
He said dont buy it unless it's a 94 celica with 600,000 miles on it
Scotty: 👈🏻👎👇👆👉🖖👆👇👉🤚
Henry Nguyen best best raptor is the celica raptor
@@curtrn Lol that's not true though. I've got some criticisms for the guy, but his default answer is not just "buy a Toyota." He's a fan of reliable cars in general and gives credit where its due when other brands have a reliable line. He has given credit to Honda, old Volovs, old Nissans, certain model years of Fords, Ford pickups, Mazadas with Skyactive, Miatas, etc.
Doug, the type of guy who looks like he's 45 while he's 30...

This is the most accurate video you have ever made doug. Good job. The Ford raptor is the GREATEST truck ever made. After buying my 2014 raptor I can easily say I would never buy any other truck than a raptor.
